Jessica's Point of View
I couldn't remember where I was or when I had fallen asleep. I opened my eyes to see Xemnas kneeling over me, his face filled with fear and concern, which I knew was ridiculous as Nobodys could not feel fear. I was on the floor, though I wasn't sure what I was doing there. I felt giddy, though I didn't know why and I laughed. Xemnas tried to speak to me, but my ears were ringing, and I couldn't hear anything. I didn't care. I wasn't sure what had happened, but I kept laughing. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked. The amount of fear in his eyes seemed to multiply. My hearing slowly came back, and the hysteria began wearing off.
"Jessica, look at me. Are you alright? Are you in any pain? I need you to answer me," Xemnas said. Though his voice was still muffled by the ringing, I could just make it out.
"I'm fine. What happened?" I wondered. I had stopped laughing, but I was still smiling.
"You- I think you fainted. You fell, and your eyes started twitching. Luckily, you fell into me, and I broke your fall, but- are you okay? What are you feeling now?" Xemnas pressed.
The giddy feeling had stopped, leaving me to piece together reality. "I'm a little shaky, and I can't hear," I explained.
I saw a Saix appear in his chair above. He instantly picked up on something being wrong. He said something with alarm, but I couldn't hear what he said since my hearing still wasn't back to normal, and he was far away. "Jessica fainted. Get me Vex- Get me someone who can help her," Xemnas ordered. Saix disappeared as soon as the words were spoken. "It's going to be okay. You'll be fine." I wasn't sure who Xemnas was talking to, himself or me. I almost seemed calmer than Xemnas did. Saix reappeared with Xaldin. "Do you know how to help her?"
"I know enough to know what to look for. Is she responsive?" Xaldin inquired.
"Yes," Xemnas answered.
"That's a good sign. Jessica, what are you feeling right now?" Xaldin questioned.
"Shaky. I'm starting to get my hearing back, but I couldn't when I first woke up," I reiterated.
"Any pain?" Xaldin added.
"No," I replied.
"We should help her up slowly," Xaldin instructed. Xemnas placed his hand behind my back and slowly lifted me until I sat upright. "How are you feeling now?"
"You guys, I'm fine. My hearing has almost come back. I'm just a little shaky, probably from the fall," I scoffed.
"Jessica, if we had the means to give you a fake form of identification, you would be in a hospital right now, but seeing as we have always leaned on Vexen to take care of your medical needs, we are stuck doing the best we can now. This is not something to be taken lightly, and you are not to brush it off," Xaldin huffed. He turned to Xemnas. "I'm no expert, but I would say she should rest for the remainder of the day."
"I. Am. Fine," I groaned. I didn't want to be stuck in bed any longer than I had been.
"And you shall stay that way because you will be confined to your room until I deem you well enough to be up, and I won't have it any other way. Clearly, you have trouble with not overexerting yourself, as you were ordered not to do, and need to be under close watch, and therefore, I will be watching you the entire time."
"But I want to-" I started. I stopped as Xemnas glared at me sternly. I knew there was no room for argument.
"I'll see if I can piece together Vexen's notes to create some potion concoction that will help her. A normal potion or hi potion may be of some benefit to her right now. I don't have any on hand," Xaldin suggested.
Saix reached into his coat pocket and produced a small bottle of green liquid. "I have one. Drink this, Jessica." He handed it to me. I hated the taste of potions, but I knew they wouldn't leave me alone until I drank it. I forced myself to gulp it down, grimacing at its bitter taste. My shakiness decreased slightly. By that point, my hearing was completely normal.
"Good girl," Xemnas praised.
"If this happens again, she will need to be under constant observation," Xaldin advised.
"Can you stand?" Xemnas asked me.
"Yes," I replied. I started to get up. Xemnas helped me.
When I had gotten up, Xaldin came closer to inspect me. "You seem to be fine. Get some rest."
I let go of Xemnas, and he visibly tensed. I didn't know how, but I realized that he was genuinely worried about me. I wanted to set him at ease, so I leaned on him. "Let's get you back to your room," Xemnas prompted. He opened a dark corridor, and we walked inside. I continued to use him for support, though I didn't think I would need it. I did that more for him to feel more comfortable.
"We have a strange relationship," I chuckled.
"I suppose. I don't put much thought into it," Xemnas mused.
"It blurs the lines between friend, enemy, and family," I commented.
"I wouldn't call us enemies," Xemnas denied. We stepped out of the dark corridor and into my room. I sat on my bed, and Xemnas sat in a chair by my desk.
"Sometimes we are," I stated.
"I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't recall any reason you would think of me as such," Xemnas replied.
I didn't know why he was feigning ignorance. It was so obvious. "Because no matter how much you've changed, your still part Xehanort."
"That again? I thought we were past that years ago," Xemnas mentioned.
The fact that he tried to brush off the trauma he caused bothered me. Under different circumstances, I would have been mad, but I didn't have the energy for that. Instead, I felt a wave of sorrow drift over me. "I never got past it. I just ignored it," I said.
"Jessica, I hope you know there is no part of me that would ever hurt you," Xemnas brought up.
"But you did. Perhaps not directly, but you've hurt my friends and family. It started from before you were... you, and you continue to. You won't even tell me why that boy who looks like Ven is here," I shuddered.
"Jessica," Xemnas began. I didn't want to hear it. I threw myself under my blankets and turned my back to him. He didn't bother to say anything more and turned off my light instead. "I'll be back to check on you." As soon as he left, I let out the tears and sobs I had held back and eventually went to sleep.
I fainted once about five years ago and based Jessica's symptoms off of that experience.
