Jessica's Point of View

I sat on my bed, dreading whatever came next. With finding Xion out of the way, Xemnas would make me go on missions for him that didn't benefit me in any way. I didn't want anything to do with him. I still wasn't ready to leave. I always seemed to find some excuse as to why I couldn't. If they found out about Xion, she would be turned into a Dusk, but I was the only one who might be able to prevent that from happening. That was my excuse of the day. When Xion found a way to use her keyblade again, I knew I would find another reason to stay. Sure enough, Axel came to my room. "Roxas and Xion were successful in convincing Saix to let them have their missions together, in case you were wondering. They had a little help from me, but who's keeping score anyway?" I didn't respond. "Okay. Are we going to do this the easy way, where you come with me to our mission without complaint, or does it have to be the hard way where we argue about this until you come with me to your mission anyway?"

"I already told you I'm not going on any missions today," I grumbled.

"Don't make me get Xemnas involved. I really don't want you to go through that," Axel pleaded.

"I hate him," I growled.

"All the more reason you don't want him to get involved. Let's just go, Jess. Keep your head down, don't do anything stupid, and you'll be alright," Axel tried.

"No! I'm not going on any more of that twisted monster's missions!" I shouted.

"Please don't do this," Axel begged.

"I'm sorry," I apologized.

"So am I," Axel sighed before he left the room.

Sure enough, it wasn't long after that when Xemnas came into my room. "I'm sure you've noticed that my patience with you is running thin."

"And hello to you, too," I grumbled.

"Go meet with Number VIII in the Grey Area and get to your mission," Xemnas ordered. I didn't move. "Now." I didn't give him the satisfaction of squirming. I kept as still as possible in defiance. "What do you want from me, Jessica?"

"I want Terra back," I snapped.

"That is impossible. Terra is gone, and the only fragment of him left resides in me. You need to accept that," Xemnas stated.

"Get out," I demanded.

"I believe you're confused as to who is in charge here. This is my castle, and you are living in it. I'm not sure how you have come up with this fantasy that it is the other way around, but it ends today," Xemnas said.

"Oh? Maybe I should leave. Then you would have no say over me," I shot back. It was an empty threat, but he didn't need to know that.

"Alright. Let's discuss what is about to happen. We will pretend you didn't say that, and you are going to go to your mission without any more complaints," Xemnas decided.

"Keep dreaming," I scoffed. Jagged lines of light and darkness pierced through me. I gasped in pain. Once the initial shock stopped, I started laughing. "How long do you think before everything ends for me and I'm released from this agonizing life?"

"I think you don't understand. It will take a while before you actually die, and when you are nearly at your breaking point, I will heal you just so we can start again," Xemnas explained. My smile fell as I realized that eventually, he would break me. I didn't dare attack him back because he had one of his shock barriers in front of him.

I held out for as long as I could. Xemnas healed me twice before I gave in. "Okay, stop!" I yelled. The jagged lines disappeared. I felt nauseous and coughed into my hand. I looked down at my glove to see blood spattered on it. I thought after that, Xemnas would be apologetic or concerned. Instead, his expression remained hard.

He glared at me before roughly shoving a hi-potion into my hand. "Drink it, or I'll shove it down your throat."

I put the bottle to my lip with a shaky hand and tried to drink the liquid. I gagged immediately, and my body rejected the hi-potion and spewed it back out onto the floor. I looked up at Xemnas and saw a tear roll down his cheek, followed by another.
