The city of Indianapolis was filled with people who were out celebrating 2024, including Mr. And Mrs. Fayetteville.

Saturday, they spent the day at the Colts football game, and today, they were going to enjoy the city, starting with a spa day.

"Oh, Dillion," said Velvet, wrapping her arms around the big left arm of her Husband. "What a vacation. Just you and I, celebrating the new year here."

A smile appears on the tall man's face as he enjoys the moments with his wife. "My love, we're just getting started. We have a shopping spree, and tonight, we're having lobster. Lobster!"

Mrs. Fayetteville let out a giggle before putting on a seductive look. "Hopefully, you'll have room for desert after all that lobster, dear."

"Oh Velvet, I'll-"

Placing his arm across his wife body, Dillion put his finger on his lips for her to understand. The Couple listen in to the sound they're not used to, especially on a quiet day like this.

Gunshots and screaming.

Grabbing his wife's arm, Dillion pulled her backward back to their hotel room. They stood in front of the elevator, pressing the button a bunch of times.

The doors finally opened, and the married couple slowly backed up as something in front of them stepped out with a couple of friends.

It let out a snort. "Going somewhere?"

Dodger: Certified Hero

Season 1 Finale

The Gauntlet

Dodger stood in the middle of the chaos, looking at the red eyed cloud shaped head that was above the city. The Hero under the mask felt his body shake and his stomach churning.

Of all the things he recently experienced, this was the scariest as the foe who terrorized the Dragon Realms has arrived to his world, his planet.

"Hahaha. Look at all of you. You're the size of ants, and I could crush you all. But I won't. I can punish you, but I will show mercy for this one and only time. One of you have the artifacts I am searching for, and you can bring them to me, or like the Hero they are, they'll give them to me.

"For as long I don't receive what's mine, I will start killing your species till it's only you and I. So, Hero. What are you? The coward who caused the existence of your species or the hero who saved them from absolute destruction...for now."

The cloud head vanished, letting the sun shine on the city of chaos. Dodger just stood in the middle of the street, shivering like a cold breeze went through his suit and hit his body like icicles.

"Dodger...we need to go" Bianca told him telepathically.

He didn't move. He just stood there, quivering.

"Dodger...there is no time to get scared. We need to stop Ripto."

"H-How?"

"Dodger, w-"

"How did he get here?! How is he in my world?!" Dodger asked, raising his voice. He was lucky no one heard him as people were running away to safety.

Bianca stayed silent for a bit before talking. "Dodger, he had to follow the power source of the Dragon Realms. I wasn't ready for us to face yet and now...he's here. We must stop him."

Moving his head to look at the sky, the Hero clinch his fist, ready to punch that bastard in his face. But there was a lingering problem that would stop his heroic deed.

"Bianca, time is not on our side. He's going to start killing people. I already let people down. I can't...I can't go through that again!"

Before she could speak, the suit received a phone call. Dodger was confused about how he was getting a call, let alone answer it. "Um...answer call?"

Voice command worked. "Dodger?"

"Babs? What's wrong?"

"Please tell me you saw that thing?"

"I was up close to it."

"Dodger...you're in Indianapolis? Mom and Dad are in the city. What are you going to do?"

That was the important question. What was he going to do? Giving up the powers gives Ripto the advantage to go back on his word. But keeping them...lives will be at stake.

"The real failure is giving up when people need you the most."

Hearing what his older sister told him, Dodger came to a confident answer. "I'm going to save my world and kick this bastard out of it. Babs, where is mom and dad?"

"The Alexander. I tried calling them. They're not picking up. Please hurry, Dodger."

The Hero used his electric powers and ran through the city in search of the hotel, passing through the chaotic mess. He helped citizens who caught up in the madness before leaving off.

The sound of gunfire alert him to head to the next block where police closed off the street, returning or sending fire in front of a big building with a large dark cloud that over shadow the area.

"Dodger, I feel a surge of magical energy. Ripto is there. But, something else is there" Bianca told him.

Dodger ran over to the back of the building and ripped the door open, entering inside. Upon his entry, he was surrounded by green creatures wearing army gear and big guns with purple liquid inside.

The Hero look up to see a tall yellow creature holding a knife, playing with it in his face. Snatching it, he stabs the creature in the chest and slashes him downward before stabbing it on its forehead.

"I'm not in the mood, assholes!" Dodger growled, stabbing the creatures while using his electric speed.

"Gnorcs. He had to bring them back" said the Sorceress to Dodger's head.

"I don't care" he shot back with a cold tone in his voice. "I'll kill whatever Ripto puts in my way."

The Hero continued his search for his adopted mother and father. What he found were green crystallized statues that look like human beings up close.

His mind begins to race and his heart as well. Dodger backed up, hitting the wall and falling on his bottom, covering his mouth with his hands.

"No, no, no. It happened again. I failed again."

Placing his head on his knees, Dodger rocked back and forth. Bianca couldn't understand what was going on with him as it wasn't the time to panic.

She doesn't know about the Christmas Train incident.

"Excuse me? Sir? Ma'am?"

In his panic, he ignores the people who are calling out to him. After being touched on his shoulder, he grabbed their wrist tight.

Dodger unleashed infrared claws on his right hand, ready to kill the gnorc who grabbed him. But to his surprise...

"Woah! Woah, buddy" a tall, bald carcassion man with a lengthy beard said to the Hero with a black woman behind him, holding a pipe.

To the armored hero, they were nobody. But inside, they wipe away the panic he was going through.

"Mom. Da- Um, Mr. and Mrs. Fayetteville. You're alive."

"You know us?" Velvet asked.

"Y-Yes. Dodger spoke about you two being here and seeing the commotion outside and these green monsters in here, I was hoping that I could find you two."

His adopted parents turn to look at each other before asking the important question. That'll have to wait as more Gnorcs enter the hallway on both ends.

"We're surrounded" Velvet said, grabbing her Husband's right arm.

Their adopted son in armor stay still, waiting for the right moment as his arms burst into flames with his suit. The arms glowed brightly as he stick them at the leading Gnorcs.

"STAY AWAY FROM THEM!"

The Hero released a surge of fire that incinerated the big armies. The parents watched as much as they could from covering their eyes, feeling the warmth of the blast that was burning them like the monsters.

The double streams of fire stop, and Dodger fell to his knees, breathing heavily. Velvet and Dillion went to check on him. But, he raised his hand, stopping them.

"I'm good. I haven't used that attack, and it uses much of my power."

Standing up, he almost fell over on the floor. Before falling, Dillion pulled him up. "You're definitely not okay."

"I am, Mr. Fayetteville. You two need to get to safety."

"You're just like our son. He works, works, and works. Tell Dodger he needs a break and a vacation to rejuvenate his body. We have to check on him because I swear he'll work himself to the grave."

Dodger couldn't help but smile as he was thankful for the mask. "I'll make sure to..."

The Hero found the strength to push his parents away from him as he was hit in the chest that sent him flying backward to the lobby filled with the green human statues.

"Ugh. Being a hero hurts."

Slowly sitting up, groaning in pain, Dodger saw the person responsible for the attack.

A large, green, orc-like creature with two fangs protruding on his lower jaw. It possesses golden armor with spikes on the arm pads and has a Viking helmet. Along with a belt, which holds the clothing and has knee pads. It wields a large, blue scepter, which has multiple spikes on it.

"Ripto knew you show up here. I told him that while he gets to kill these strange creatures outside, I kill these in here. Before I bring you to him, I gotta deal with these runaways first. "

The Gnorc raised the glowing scepter at Dillion and Velvet Fayetteville.

"GET AWAY FROM MY FAMILY!" roared Dodger, pouncing on Gnasty, knocking him on the floor.

The two of them rolled on the floor, punching one another. Gnasty kicked Dodger off him, sending green energy balls with his scepter. The Hero leaped out of the way, glacing at his parents to make sure they were safe. He kept his eyes off his opponent. He didn't see the incoming swinging scepter that hit him back to his family.

Using the infrared claws, Dodger skid to a stop and charged again to the Gnorc, pulling out a spear. The Hero and Ripto's Henchmen clash their weapons together a few time before the small weapon of Dodger's was flung away.

Getting up again, the Human unleashed a loud growl. His arms turn into ice spikes, the sharp tips dragging on the carpet, making tears. Leaping in the air, Dodger slams his arms on the floor, and large ice spikes emerge towards the Gnorc.

Gnasty fired an energy beam to break through the incoming attack. It didn't fired as he felt something was off.

The scepter fell on the floor, followed by his right arm. Then, his head and more limbs and body parts fell. Behind the once whole Gnorc was Dodger with his spiked arms covered in green liquid.

Seeing the ice melt off his arms, he shook the blood off. Unknown to him, his parents were behind with a look of shock on their face.

"Dodger?"

"You'll see him soon" the Hero turn to them.

First, he noticed the look on their face. Secondly, his vision was red. With a sigh, he put his head down, looking at the floor.

"Dodger? What happened?" His Father asked.

The building shook and explosions were happening, breaking the Son's attention.

"I can't talk about this right now. Just know that I am going to save the world. Actually, three worlds. It's crazy, I know. But I can't let this city and its people burn without putting up a fight."

The Parents went to retort, but a rainbow stream flew into the room. Landing next to the family was a bipedal rabbit in an orange short-sleeved dress with light green markings on the sleeves and a burnt orange belt with brown and orange-trimmed boots.

"Dod...Uh, Hero. We need to go. Quick."

"Bianca, hi. This is my mom and dad. They know about me."

Velvet looked at the Sorceress, wanting to grab her by the neck as tears rolled down her face. "Why him? He's not a soldier. He's just a boy. Our boy. Our son."

Avoiding the eyes of the family, Bianca let out a breath. "You're right. He's not a soldier. But Dodger is one of the people of this world who decide to help out in order to save my world and his world. He fought the toughest monsters, looking evil in the eye and done well. He's not a soldier. But Dodger is a great person."

Blushing, the Hero gives the Sorceress a smile. "I try my best. I just wish there was a way to send them home."

Beside everyone was a stone arch that form on the wall. With a flash of light, everyone saw Barbara on the other side. "Um, hi."

"We were at your home, looking for you" Bianca told Dodger who raised an eyebrow.

"We?" He asked.

"Lyn and Titan are here, helping the people escape here. This is a portal back to your home. Dodger, you can hand me the Dragon Runes to me, and I'll face Ripto. You've done so much for the Dragon Realms, and we appreciate you and your hard work."

Raising his arm and shaking his head, Dodger stopped her from continuing. "Nah, Bianca. Save that bullshit for when, and I mean when we defeat Ripto. Mom, Dad. Don't wait up too long for me. I'll be back."

Walking next to the Sorceress, Dodger gave his family a confident smile. Dillion helped his wife into the portal to their home.

"Let's save the world."

The two vanished into a rainbow stream as it makes it's away to the top of the hotel where the source of the red clouds was.

Burst out, Bianca and Dodger, along with Titan and Lyn, stood in front of Ripto, who patiently waited.

"There they are. You made me wait. No matter, though. I'll make you suffer for your insolence!"

Stepping ahead of the group, Dodger got in a fighting stance. "This is my world. You want it? Come take it!"
