Officer Garcia bids farewell to the group, promising to meet them again the following day.
On Monday, the school day is shortened in anticipation of the solar eclipse viewing. In the afternoon, everyone gathers at the Los Angeles children's hospital to organize a surprise celebration for Logan.
As the time approaches, Kendall, James, and Carlos make their way to Logan's hospital room.
"Hey, what brings you guys here? You're going to miss the solar eclipse. It's starting soon, and you need to finish your assignment before it's over," Logan remarks solemnly.
"We're here because you won't be able to see it from this room. You need to be outside, and we're going to get you out of here before it begins," Carlos explains enthusiastically. "Get ready to be amazed and thrilled because you're in for a treat!" he exclaims with excitement.
Logan looks at Carlos, who is bouncing with energy, and asks Kendall and James, "How much sugar did he have today?"
"Just the usual amount," James replies.
"Then why is he so hyper?" Logan inquires.
"He's just really excited about the solar eclipse," Kendall explains.
Logan, sensing that something is amiss, questions them further, "None of you have been this excited about it since Miss Collins announced the class would be watching. What's going on?"
"You'll have to see it to understand," Kendall responds, assisting Logan into a wheelchair and wheeling him out of the room.
"Where are we going? I feel completely lost," Logan questions.
"Just wait, it will all make sense soon," James reassures him.
"Half the time, I can never understand you guys," Logan responds with a sigh.
As they turn right and make their way through a long, narrow hallway, passing through two pairs of double doors before finally stepping outside.
"Voila!" Carlos declares.
"In the hospital courtyard, all decked out for the solar eclipse? I'm still baffled as to why we're here," Logan admits.
Then, with a sudden burst of excitement, the entire class emerges from their hiding spots and shouts, "Surprise! Happy Solar Eclipse Day, Logan!"
Stunned by the unexpected gesture, Logan struggles to piece it together in his mind.
"We're all here to watch the eclipse with you, Logan," Kendall explains to his bewildered friend. "We know how down you've been in the hospital, and we understand how excited you were about the eclipse. That's why we've arranged this special viewing party just for you."
Still in disbelief about the surprise party. "Wait, so you guys actually want to watch the solar eclipse with me, even though you weren't originally interested?" Logan questions.
"Yeah, we want to see you happy again," James replies.
"Thank you so much. I really appreciate it," Logan expresses his gratitude.
"Remember when you asked me and Camille to make treats for the solar eclipse? Well, we made cookies. Want to try one?" Carlos offers.
"Sure, but it's really difficult for me to move with this sling on my dislocated shoulder," Logan groans uncomfortably. "Maybe I shouldn't watch the solar eclipse. Maybe I'm just lame for being interested in it. If I hadn't been at the library doing research, I wouldn't have gotten attacked. I shouldn't have left the Palm Woods."
"Don't you dare blame yourself, Logan. This isn't your fault. Your passion for math and science is inspiring. This solar eclipse means a lot to you, and I think it's awesome that it's happening soon," Kendall reassures him. "Did Jett's teasing really get to you that much that you don't want to see the solar eclipse?"
"His constant teasing made it hard for me to stay excited about it," Logan admits. "It's like I'm exactly what he called me - a nerd and a loser."
"For all of us, Jett isn't here. He's still at the police station. He can't ruin this moment for any of us," Kendall declares. "You're not a nerd, a loser, or lame. You're amazing and intelligent. Your passion for math and science is truly inspiring."
"Thanks, Kenny," Logan says, feeling grateful.
"I'll get the solar eclipse cookie for you, Logie," Carlos offers and brings him a plate with one on it.
"What flavor is it?" Logan asks.
"It's double chocolate chip fudge with star-shaped chocolate icing and moon-shaped sprinkles," Carlos describes.
Logan takes a bite and smiles. "It's delicious. You and Cami did an incredible job," he compliments.
"Thanks, we had a lot of fun baking them together," Camille says.
Logan takes another bite of the cookie and savors the rich chocolate flavor. As he chews, he can feel the warmth and love that went into making it. It's a small gesture, but it means the world to him.
As the group sits together, enjoying their treats and each other's company, Logan can't help but feel a sense of belonging. These friends, who went out of their way to throw him a surprise party and support his passion, remind him that he is not alone.
The anticipation for the solar eclipse builds, and Logan's excitement starts to outweigh his doubts. He realizes that he shouldn't let Jett's hurtful words define him. He is so much more than the labels others try to put on him.
As the eclipse begins, Logan's friends gather around him, their eyes fixed on the sky. The atmosphere is filled with awe and wonder as the moon slowly covers the sun, casting a surreal glow over everything.
Logan's heart swells with gratitude for his friends and for this moment. He realizes that it's not just about the solar eclipse itself, but about the support and love he has found in his friends. They have shown him that he is valued and accepted for who he truly is.
In that moment, Logan lets go of his insecurities and fully embraces his passion for math and science. He knows that he is not alone in his interests, and that there are people who appreciate and admire him for it.
As the eclipse reaches its peak, Logan can't help but feel a sense of renewal. The darkness that once clouded his mind is replaced by a newfound confidence and determination. He knows that he will face challenges and setbacks, but with his friends by his side, he is ready to overcome anything.
Logan looks around at his friends, their faces illuminated by the ethereal light of the eclipse. In this moment, he realizes that he is surrounded by a support system that will always be there for him. And as the eclipse comes to an end, Logan knows that he is not just watching a celestial event, but also witnessing the power of friendship and the strength that comes from embracing who you truly are.
After the conclusion of the solar eclipse, Katie and Tyler approach Logan, proudly displaying their artwork.
"Logan, we dedicated so much effort to create a stunning piece of art that would align with the solar eclipse theme. We sincerely hope you appreciate it," Katie expresses. "We also wanted to mention that what Jett intended to do to you is truly terrible, and we believe he possesses a malevolent nature. Nevertheless, what are your thoughts on our painting?" Katie asks, presenting it to him.
"Wow, guys, this artwork truly captures the essence and beauty of the celestial event we just witnessed," Logan responds.
"Do you genuinely mean that, Logan?" Tyler inquires.
"Absolutely," Logan confirms.
"Thank you," Katie and Tyler express in unison.
They exchange a relieved glance, grateful that their hard work and dedication had paid off. The painting they had created was a masterpiece, with vibrant colors and intricate details that perfectly depicted the solar eclipse. It was a representation of their shared passion for art and their deep appreciation for the wonders of the universe.
Logan takes a moment to study the painting, his eyes tracing the curves and lines that seemed to come alive on the canvas. He could feel the energy and excitement that radiated from the artwork, as if it held a piece of the eclipse's magic within it. It was clear to him that Katie and Tyler had poured their hearts and souls into this creation.
"I can't believe how talented you both are," Logan says, his voice filled with genuine admiration. "This painting is truly remarkable. You've managed to capture the awe-inspiring beauty of the solar eclipse in a way that words could never do justice."
Katie and Tyler's faces light up with joy, their hard work and dedication validated by Logan's words. They had hoped that their artwork would resonate with him, but hearing his genuine appreciation was beyond their wildest dreams.
"We're so glad you like it, Logan," Katie says, her voice filled with gratitude. "We wanted to create something that would not only capture the essence of the solar eclipse but also bring a sense of wonder and joy to those who see it."
Tyler nods in agreement, his eyes shining with pride. "We wanted to create a piece of art that would remind people of the beauty and magic that exists in the world, even in the darkest of times."
Logan smiles warmly at them, feeling a deep connection to their artistic vision. He had always admired their creativity and passion, and this painting was a testament to their talent.
"I have no doubt that this painting will inspire and touch the hearts of many," Logan says, his voice filled with conviction. "You've created something truly special, and I'm honored to have witnessed it."
Katie and Tyler exchange a glance, their hearts filled with gratitude and a sense of accomplishment. They had not only created a beautiful piece of art, but they had also managed to bring joy and inspiration to someone they deeply cared about.
As they stand there, basking in the afterglow of their success, they couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of purpose. Their artwork had not only brought them closer together as friends but had also reminded them of the power of creativity and the ability to touch the hearts of others.
With newfound determination, they vowed to keep their passion for art alive.
"What's the game plan post-solar eclipse?" Carlos inquires.
"I should probably head back to my hospital quarters to catch some z's, but I don't want to bore you all. I'm sure you have better things to do than sit around here," Logan mentions.
"You're always interesting, Logie," Carlos reassures.
"Thanks, Carlos. I really need to get back, though. The pain is creeping back in, and I know I have to stay ahead of it, especially while I'm stuck in the hospital. Right now, I'm feeling pretty uncomfortable. I'm sorry, guys," Logan admits.
"It's all good, Logan. We'll escort you back to your room," Kendall offers, gently guiding the wheelchair back inside. Once back in the hospital room, he assists Logan in settling back into bed.
"Logan, it's essential for you to discover a method to completely unwind during your stay at the medical facility," Camille advises.
"I have strategies," Logan responds.
"When my father is under pressure, he practices meditation," Jo shares. "Working in the CIA can be mentally exhausting, yet it brings him great satisfaction."
"It doesn't alleviate the fact that he becomes excessively protective of you," Kendall remarks. "At times, I sense he's observing us from the shrubbery, particularly during our evening picnics."
"He has reassured me that he has never engaged in such behavior," Jo mentions.
"Naturally, he will say what you wish to hear. Grown-ups can also be manipulative," Kendall comments. "Nevertheless, I believe your father is remarkable."
"Thank you," Jo acknowledges.
