"I need a break. It's probably best for you guys to head home. Don't worry about me, I'll be okay until I'm discharged," Logan insists.

"I can't just leave you here alone, Logan. I need to be by your side," Camille declares.

Logan lets out a sigh. "You're so stubborn, you know that?" he teases, well aware of Camille's determination to stay with him.

Camille chuckles. "My dad tells me that all the time. I take it as a compliment... I think."

"Alright, you can stay. But once visiting hours are up, you have to follow the rules and leave," Logan instructs.

"I promise, I will," Camille assures him.

"Perfect," Logan says, grateful for Camille's unwavering support.

The rest of the class departs, leaving Katie and Tyler behind as children under 18 require adult supervision during hospital visiting hours.

"How long will it take for your dislocated shoulder to heal?" Katie inquires.

"Hopefully not too long. I'll need to wear this sling for a few weeks to ensure the shoulder joint remains stable," Logan explains.

"But you're young, so you'll recover quickly," Tyler remarks.

"While that may be true, a full recovery will still take time. I'm not thrilled about this any more than you guys are," Logan admits.

The doctor enters the room. "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. I thought I could provide some medical information to assist your young friends here."

"Please, go ahead," Logan responds.

Turning to Katie and Tyler, the doctor asks, "Are you two ready for a biology lesson?"

"Yes!" Katie and Tyler reply eagerly.

"Now, let's talk about the healing process. When a bone is dislocated, it means that it has been forced out of its normal position in the joint. In Logan's case, his shoulder joint has been affected. The first step in healing a dislocated shoulder is to put the bone back into its proper place. This is called a reduction, and it is usually done by a healthcare professional, like myself. Once the bone is back in place, the next step is to immobilize the joint to allow it to heal," the doctor continues.

"Logan will need to wear the sling for a few weeks to keep his shoulder stable and prevent any further damage. During this time, he will also need to avoid any activities that could put strain on the joint. This means no heavy lifting, no sports, and no rough play. It's important for him to follow these restrictions to ensure a successful recovery," the doctor explains.

"Additionally, Logan may need to undergo physical therapy to regain strength and mobility in his shoulder. This will involve exercises and stretches that will gradually increase in intensity as his shoulder heals. Physical therapy is an important part of the recovery process and will help him get back to his normal activities," the doctor adds.

"While Logan may be young and have a faster healing process compared to adults, it's still important for him to be patient and allow his body the time it needs to heal. Rushing the healing process could lead to complications or reinjury. It's also important for him to follow any instructions or recommendations given by his healthcare provider," the doctor advises.

Katie and Tyler nod, taking in all the information. They realize that even though Logan is young, his recovery will still require time and care. They understand the importance of the sling and the restrictions Logan will have to follow.

As the doctor finishes explaining, the visiting hours come to an end. Katie and Tyler bid farewell to Logan, promising to visit him again soon. They leave the hospital, their minds filled with newfound knowledge about the healing process and the importance of patience and care in recovery.
