Chapter 7: Danny Phantom in Juban:The Search for the Sailor Guardians II

Previously

"Hello? Dog? Uh... can you hear me?!..." Danny called out.

That's when he heard a bark before being tackled off the floor. He saw it was a rather big dog, a Japanese Mastiff, and it looked rather peaceful despite the fire.

"There you are..."The ghost boy said as the dog licked Danny's face.

"Okay! Okay! Lemme get you out of here..." Danny said with a chuckle.

Once he knew the dog was safe and the woman was reunited with him, Danny, still invisible, left.

She didn't know what happened, only relieved that her dog was safe and now out, as were the others whom the ghost boy saved from certain doom.

"Well that's one problem solved. Now back to finding those girls..."He thought.

With the crises averted and done with, the ghost boy soon took to the skies again, in order to find the Sailor Guardians and this mystery threat.

In Amity Park

It was morning and most people were either going out to enjoy the long weekend or loaf around their homes, either reading, watching TV or playing video games.

Jasmine Fenton was doing some studying. She couldn't relax as she wondered about her brother and hoped that he was okay in another part of the world.

She couldn't get her mind off what he was doing in Japan. He has been gone for for hours and hasn't come back yet which made her worry about him, especially since he's never been there before.

"I hope he's okay, or at least not making a doofus of himself in front of five Japanese girls..."Jazz muttered to herself as she resumed her reading.

She just hopes that he finishes soon. She didn't know what kind of adventure he's had so far but she hopes that he doesn't get himself in too much trouble on his weekend trip.

At the very least, it'd be more exciting than having to avoid one of her parent's experiments setting the lab on fire… again.

Even if they are out of town, she still needs to keep herself busy and be alert in case something happens here.

"At least I house all to myself for awhile..."She thought as she continued reading.

In Japan

It was 1:00 AM in Juban and Danny was yawning, having been up for hours, searching around for the Sailor Guardians and pulling people out of trouble from out of control cars and muggers for hours.

He got tired and rubbed his eyes, feeling like he needs a break.

"Incredible, not a single ghost until I got here and I'm overworked..."He said, as he was now ready for bed.

Earlier, he used his powers to phase into an unused hotel room and saw the bed was unused, neatly tucked and ready for someone to sleep in.

"I normally wouldn't do this, but I can't sleep on a park bench..."He said, taking a deep breath.

He had heard from the people outside that this place was haunted but he had taken care of things when he got here.

FLASHBACK

A tired Danny phased into the hotel room, being exhausted as he looked around. It was a decent, albeit dusty, looking room with a bed, a desk with a lamp, and access to a shower.

Not exactly four-star, but it would suffice. He smiled as he thought he was alone.

"Looks fine to me, surprised no one wants it..."He muttered as he walked to the bed.

Being transported to a different part of the planet with a different timezone has caught up with him and he needed sleep, There were bags under his eyes due to being up far longer than he should have been.

He needed sleep now. However, his ghost sense went off and he huffed.

"Now? Of all times?..."He groaned as he looked around for what triggered it.

He got his answer fast when he heard a voice coming from behind him.

"Do not enter here!..."Was heard in a menacing tone.

He rolled his eyes and saw the ghost who spoke to him.

The ghost was female and had stringy hair and in a white gown. She was also hunched and her head was drooped downward with her hair covering her face. She resembled ghosts of Japanese horror films he saw last Halloween during a movie marathon, and she was just as creepy looking.

She then pointed at him, with a talon-like nail as her finger stretched out, while one of her eyes was peaking out of her pitch-black hair in a menacing glare as she released some raspy breathing.

"Fear me child, your soul is mine!..."The female ghost said in an ominous tone as she inched closer.

Danny raised an eyebrow in a unimpressed manner before he rolled his eyes.

"I so don't have time for this..."He said in annoyance.

With that, he flew at the ghost, swinging his fist with enough force that it sent the ghost into the wall, making the usually terrifying spirit feel pain for once.

"OW!..." The ghost woman went as she slid down the wall. "That hurt! What's going on?! You're supposed to be afraid of me!..." The ghost whined, losing her ominous tone from earlier.

The ghost boy was a little befuddled by this ghost's response, but simply chalked it all up to her not having a lot of visitors to begin with.

"Look, I don't know what your problem is but can you leave me alone? I got important stuff to take care of and I need to get some shut-eye..." Danny asked but the female ghost got back up, as her eye was peeking out of her hair again and squinting in anger.

"Never! You shall feel my-..."She didn't have time finish as Danny fired a ghost ray in her face, burning some of her hair off.

She gasped in horror at this while the ghost boy tilted his head to get a better look at this ghost lady's new look and honestly thought that it was an improvement.

"Someone needed a haircut..."Danny said as he smirked playfully.

The female ghost tried to slash with her hands but Danny countering with an uppercut to the chin, launching her up. It was more pain than she was used to. The thrust of the punch caused to wail in fear and it made her hit the ceiling, knocking her out.

Once the ghost was on the floor, Danny sucked her up in his thermos and put it aside, figuring he can deal with her once he's home.

"Even out here, they always want to do things the hard way..."He muttered, tired.

It seems he can't avoid ghosts who don't know any better. Even in a different country with no known ghost hunting superhero.

End Of Flashback

Present Time

Danny yawned before he stared back at the bed, then he looked to the thermos he put against the wall.

"Those movies would have had happier endings if I were there..."He muttered as he laid in the bed, changing back to normal.

He was really glad to finally have a moment to relax as he collected all his thoughts and review the progress he made today...though he made none so far. He was actually frustrated that he has yet to find those girls and help them with the threat that Clockwork warned him about. He couldn't even enjoy his time here because he was in a hurry to get home before his vacation was over.

"What a first day of my vacation, if you can call it that..."He muttered before sighing. "Oh well, no point complaining when I'm too tired from being up too long..."He thought.

The one upside was there was no sign of this new enemy yet but he had to continue on with the task he was given by Clockwork to find the girls.

"The sooner I find them, the better..."He thought.

He decided to call it day and get to bed. Danny took a quick shower, careful not to let it be that loud, and finished. Now refreshed, he decided to get some sleep and would continue his search in the morning.

With that, the ghost boy went to sleep, too tired to think any further.

He'll need his strength tomorrow as he needs to find those girls.

The Next Day

At Makoto's Apartment

The tall girl woke up early in the morning, feeling slightly better from what happened yesterday and she got ready to tackle this new day.

After doing her usual morning routine of brushing her teeth, taking quick shower and getting dressed, she began to make herself breakfast.

However, her mind went back to the boy she saw. The one whom she saved from delinquents and smiled when she thought about how cute he was, even if he was shorter than her.

"I wonder how he is, and I hope that he is okay out there..."She thought as she took a bite.

She grabbed the remote and turned the television on, figuring she may as well check out the news before leaving.

That's when she heard it..

"We interrupt this program to give you this latest report! A mysterious rescue has occurred!..."Was suddenly heard.

"Huh?..."Makoto said as she noticed a news report on the TV.

Apparently last night, there was a fire at one of the apartment complex buildings not far from her and some of the residents were still inside as it was burning and due to the intense flames, all hope for an immediate rescue was lost... yet somehow, they escaped.

"Miraculously all the trapped residents of the building were somehow saved by an unknown force with little to no injuries aside from mild burns along with a photo depicts a dog appearing out of thin air from the fire, like magic..." A female reporter said as a video of a canine essentially appearing out of nowhere and approaching its owner.

"No word on if this is related to the people reportedly being pulled out of danger by an unseen entity. But it looks like the Sailor Guardians have competition in saving the day. More news to come later at 11..."

Makoto blinked at this, not sure what to think.

"What? Competition..."She said, wondering what this is about.

At Ami's House

The blue haired girl woke up bright and early was finishing her breakfast. Her mother had just left for work at the hospital and the intellectual girl was all set for school.

However, that is when she saw the news report about the events of the burning building that happened last night, it puzzled her and she had her own thoughts.

"Hmm...this sounds like something I read about involving a town in America from the news months ago..."Ami pondered in a curious fashion.

She tried to recall, but couldn't place it, something about a supposed superhero whose name escapes her.

"Johnny Spirit? Hmm...That can't be it..." She thought with a quizzical tilt.

Still, she had to get going so that she could be there early as usual. She was unaware how this phenomenon would make itself known soon enough.

At The Hikawa Shrine

Rei had been dusting their living room when she saw the news report, thinking on what was said.

"An invisible entity?..."The young priestess questioned while her crows, Phobos and Deimos, called out to her.

She was startled as she was thinking that some sort of paranormal activity was involved, but what kind of spirit saves the living?

She knew few who would consider the option to be possible and most would want something in return. She still has some doubts of her own. Her grandfather, the head of the shrine, had approached his granddaughter with his own thoughts on this.

"Let's hope this invisible entity doesn't carry people away, including pretty young visitors..."He said, smiling.

"Pretty sure that's your doing..."Rei said, rolling her eyes.

It was too early to deal with her grandpa ogling at pretty girls right now.

He only chuckled at that, unashamed. However, once he saw the pretty news lady, his attention was square on the television screen and Rei simply face palm herself.

"And there he goes again...whatever am I going to do with you, Grandfather?..."She muttered under her breath.

At The Aino Residence

Minako and Artemis had a typical morning where she overslept and was running late again.

The blonde girl hurried to get ready and go to school.

However, while she changed, she saw the news report and got distracted by the strange way the civilians were rescued.

"Artemis, how is this happening? Is there another Sailor Guardian?..." Minako asked, not understanding how all this could've happened under their watch and how it could've gotten resolved without their being aware of it.

"I'm not entirely sure, Mina. It doesn't seem like it..."Artemis said, just as confused about this whole situation.

The newslady then mention how this being remained unseen and could be a competitor for the Sailor Guardians in saving the day.

"Competition? They think someone is competing with us..."Minako said, thinking out loud.

"I doubt it's that simple. We would know for sure if this being was a threat in any way..."Artemis said, just as Minako got her shoes on.

"I wonder if there's another person helping out, I also wonder if this person is handsome..."Minako thought as a childish smile was now on her face.

Artemis did not trust the look on her face, even as she went through the door.

"Someone's more optimistic since yesterday..."He thought, not liking her assumptions or her obsessions.

Still he needed to discuss this issue with Luna as so as possible, to see if this is something they should worry about or not.

At the Tsukino residence

Usagi and her family were currently having breakfast together.

Her mother had been making breakfast, her father was reading a newspaper, Shingo was checking to see if he had everything he needed for school while Usagi, Luna and Chibiusa were taking their time eating.

However, her father had the news on and they all saw the same report.

"I can't believe this happened and we just now hear of it..."Mr. Tsukino said.

"And right under our noses too, I know some people who live in that area..."Mrs. Tsukino commented while the children were a little startled by the announcement of the danger those people were in.

"Woah, that's just crazy to hear..."Shingo said while his sister only listened.

"Usagi, were they all saved by one of your friends yesterday?..."Chibiusa said, while making sure that the rest of the family didn't hear her.

"I don't think so. They would've told us, if they did..."Usagi said in her usual way before eating more.

Chibiusa and Shingo watched the rest of the news while Luna looked curious.

"This is just bizarre, what saved them?..."The feline thought, not sure what to make of the event.

Either way, she needs to talks to Artemis and find out if this is something they should worry about or not.

With Danny

The ghost boy had woken up with a yawn.

"What a weird dream, I was trying to meet a hot tall brunette or a hot blonde with a bow and ended up going with both of them. Right after I saved them from some monster..."He muttered as he stretched a bit.

He realized that he was still in the cheap hotel room that he fought a ghost for and sighed.

"I guess it wasn't JUST a dream or at least the finding them part wasn't..."He said as he decided to go before Murphy's law kicked in.

The ghost boy quickly got changed without making too much noise to alarm anyone.

"Okay, step one: Search for the Sailor Guardians take two..."He thought as he transformed into Danny Phantom.

"Let's see if my luck changes this time around and I actually find at least one of them and find the mystery bad guy that's caught Clockwork's attention..."He thought as he flew through the walls.

He kept his eyes peeled for for them, doing his best to hurry and resume his search for the local super-heroines.
