Chapter 14: Heroes From Across the Pacific: Affection Behind the Fists

"This is all just for fun and training, plus I am curious to see just how strong you really are. So, what do you say?..."Jupiter offered.
Danny thought about it and figured that this is probably the best way for everyone to see that they can depend on him.
'I've never really spared with anyone before. Most people I fight usually wanna destroy me, but this is the first time that someone actually just wants to do it for fun. Okay..."Danny agreed.
"I was hoping you'd say that..."Jupiter said, smiling.
Danny smiled back, as the other heroes were wary as the spar was about to begin.
All the while, trouble seemed to be heading their way...in more ways than one.
Oh boy.
Present Time
Phantom and Jupiter both prepared for their spar. Both stood on opposite ends, taking stretches as they nodded to one another.
"I hope you're ready..." Jupiter said.
"Careful, Jupiter. At least don't mess up his face..."Venus said, worried that her friend might leave something permanent on her superhero crush.
"Don't worry... you'll fantasize about him later..." Mars said dismissively.
"I'm starting to see why Usagi thinks you're the meanest one..." Venus grumbled under her breath.
That's when the sparing truly started.
"Go!..." Mercury said.
Jupiter ran in, swing her leg. Danny bobbed to his left to avoid it.
"I'd have phased through the ground, but I don't want them to think I'm a peeping tom..." He thought.
Landing gracefully, Jupiter swung her other leg. Danny raised an arm to block her kick.
"Huh... you caught that so easily..." She commented.
"Helps I've been in a few scraps..." Danny responded.
"So, it's okay I don't hold back?..."She asked.
"Absolutely..." Danny said.
With that, a happy grin appeared on Jupiter's face as she lowered her leg and swung a fist. With his own reaction speed, Danny threw his own fist, albeit not as fast, and the two connected.
"He's strong... good..." Jupiter thought in excitement as she swung another kick.
As Danny caught Jupiter's leg by the ankle, the ghost boy couldn't help but find himself admiring the heroine's strength and martial arts abilities.
"Wow...she's good. Way better than I thought..."Danny thought as he bobbed out of the way from a kick by her.
He also noticed her legs and how close they were to striking him. However, his distraction didn't last long enough as he ducked out of the way.
"Plus..."He thought in a somewhat lecherous way as he glanced at them, noticing how beautifully smooth and well toned they looked from being mere inches away from his head.
He felt his heat up from the gorgeous sight...and his body was met by a swift kick in the gut that sent him flying a bit.
"GARRHH!..."Danny said as he crashed into a large tree.
"Oh no!..."Venus said in worry while Mars quietly laughed at the ghost boy's expense.
The other Sailor Guardians rolled their eyes at her.
"What?!..." Mars questioned angrily.
"Don't act like you don't know..."Moon muttered, glaring at her.
Meanwhile, Danny recovered and quickly got back on his feet. He let his guard down due to how attractive his sparing partner was.
"That's what I get for being a hormonal dork..."He muttered, berating himself for acting so hormonal on such a serious moment.
"Come on, Phantom-kun. Is that all you've got?..."Jupiter said, unaware of what he had been doing.
Danny suddenly felt a strange sense of competitiveness, something he never felt before.
"Alright, guess I have to up my game..."He said, as he then raised a ghost shield before Jupiter could land a punch.
"So, you're breaking out the powers, huh?..." She asked, intrigued.
"You can too, if you'd like..." Danny said, making her smirk.
"Ever been hit with lightning before and manage to survive it?..." Jupiter asked, wanting to be sure about something.
"Does Sonic the Hedgehog like chili dogs? That's a yes in case you didn't get it..." Danny responded.
"Good..." Jupiter said as got some distance.
"Give me your best shot!..." Danny said with an eager smile.
"With pleasure!..." Jupiter said as she stepped back.
She began to take a familiar stance, one her friends knew all too well, as Danny raised a brow in confusion.
"And... what's this?..." He asked, but she began to speak up.
"Jupiter, my guardian planet. Bring forth the storm, summon the cloud and bring down your thunder!..."She declared, getting into position.
That's when storm clouds appeared above.
"Is Vortex here or-..." His thoughts were cut off.
"Supreme... THUNDER!..."Jupiter declared loudly.
"Wait...what?!..."Danny let out.
Jupiter summoned her attack, a large charge of electricity that was ready to hit him head on any moment.
"OH CRUD!..."The ghost boy yelped.
Thinking fast, Danny zipped out of the way in time, watching the blast hit a tree, leaving it singed.
"Wow!..."He thought as he looked over his shoulder at the source of that attack.
"Impressed?..." She asked.
"Definitely..."He said, panting and looking almost in awe right now.
That choice of words was noticed by Venus.
"Wait... why did he say it like that?..." She asked, not understanding while the spar continued.
"Flattery will get you no where. But I didn't say stop..."Jupiter said as she charged at him, fists ready.
Thinking fast, Danny created a wall of ice to block her. However, her kick went right through, shattering the ice and hitting him in the chest. As he slid away, he clutched his chest.
"I don't think I've ever seen anyone just break through my ice like that... and hit me too..." He said before he smiled at seeing Jupiter jump over the ice and land gracefully.
"That was... kind of cool..." He said under his breath.
"Wait... why is he smiling?..." Mars asked, raising a brow at that.
"No idea..."Mercury said, confused.
"I guess he's really into that kind of thing?..." Moon suggested.
"I should have spared instead..." Venus muttered bitterly, arms crossed.
"But she's our muscle and she's the one who challenged him..." Mercury pointed out.
"Noooooo..." Venus muttered, acting like a little girl who just missed recess.
All three of them made faces.
"I don't think that's a good way to get his attention..." Mercury said.
Danny caught Jupiter's fist before it connected.
"I got two hands..."Jupiter said as she threw another punch.
"Me too..."Danny said as he used his other hand to create shield to deflect it.
Finding herself unable to injure him any further, Sailor Jupiter jumped back. Once done with the spar, the two heroes were sweating and panting as the fight ended in a draw.
However, Makoto smiled in a satisfied way. She wasn't displeased with the spar to be honest.
"Not bad, but you were holding back, weren't you?..."She said.
"How could you tell?..."Danny asked.
"I've been training since I could walk. I can tell when an opponent is holding back and when they are giving their all. I even noticed that most, if not all you physical blows were a bit slower than when you attacked the monster from last time..."Jupiter said.
"I can only assume you have a reason not to go all out even when you wanted me to..."She added.
"Well, I do have one power that goes a little too...well, let's say overwhelming. I could show it to you guys...but it could end up leveling the whole park and seriously injuring you...and I rather not do that..."Danny said, being honest to the pretty Sailor Guardian in green.
"I...see..."Jupiter said, sweat dropping a bit.
"Really don't want to end a ghost myself..."She thought, deciding to take his word for it.
"I wanna try and spar with him!..." Venus went, sounding envious as she wanted the ghost boy's attention.
Jupiter stared in disbelief at this.
"For real?..." She asked, not understanding what this is about.
The heroes soon heard crashes, screaming and saw people running away for safety. They instantly knew what this meant and immediately knew what had to be done.
"Oh dear, not again!..."Mercury said, upset.
"Monsters, we gotta stop them!..."Moon said, looking determined.
"Ditto, let's go!..."Danny agreed, as the heroes went to deal with the new attack.
They were all unaware that Clockwork and his mysterious ally had been watching them the entire time
"I told you he'd be a great help..."The time master said.
"It's not ever yet. Let's hope your friend doesn't seduce all of them and make them forget their mission..."His partner said as they continued to watch the heroes work together.
Meanwhile
Danny and the Sailor Guardians soon arrived to a nearby playground, where they had seen the commotion occurring. The entire area was abandoned, as people had already ran away to safety.
"Where is it?..."Moon asked, keeping her guard up.
"It has to be present!..."Mercury said.
Danny was confused until his ghost sense soon went off.
"Uh...I think whatever did this is nearby...and I think it's a ghost..."He said, getting attention from the girls.
"How would you know?..."Mars asked suspiciously.
"I have a ghost sense. It lets me know when other ghosts are close by..."Danny explained.
This made the dark haired heroine drop her attitude.
"Wait...really?..."She asked, surprised.
However, she then sensed a presence and was alarmed. All the while, Danny's ghost sense went off again and he turned around and saw someone standing by the slides.
"There's someone there… hey! Ma'am? There's something dangerous in the area!..."Danny said, as he floated towards her.
However, this was her response.
"Am I… pretty?..." She asked as she lifted her head.
Danny soon saw what looked to be a humanoid female, but she was really tall...about 8 feet or so, pale, with long dark haired, a white dress and a hat, as well as no shoes. She also looked somewhat like an attractive woman in her late 20's but he knew that she was not here to make friends.
She also gave a large, toothy grin that was inhuman.
"Who the heck are you?..."Danny demanded.
The Guardians gasped in horror as they realized who and WHAT this was.
"Hachishaku-sama!..."Mars yelled in horror, and the others were appalled.
"Hachi who?..."Danny asked, not understanding what that meant.
"It means Ms. 8 Feet tall!..."Mercury explained, looking horrified.
"Miss 8 Feet tall? Really, that's her name..."Danny snarked, finding it laughable.
"This is serious! This is an evil yokai who is said to pray on young children and takes them away from their families! Once she kidnaps them, it is said that she kills them and feeds on them..."Mercury said in worry.
"Okay, that's still a dumb name but I got it..."Danny said, realizing that this is a serious danger.
"Po. Where are the children? I can't seem to find any here..."The female spirit said, speaking in a high feminine voice.
The Sailor Guardians snapped out of their fear, and got on the defensive, as they faced the evil yokai.
"You will not dare to attack anymore innocent children, evil spirit. Now in the name if the moon, we'll punish you!..."Moon declared, striking her iconic pose.
The female yokai glared at that.
"Don't any of you dare make me hungry, none of you will like me when I'm hungry!..."The evil spirit said angrily, her voice changing to a deep, masculine one in an instant.
Her expression and appearance had changed to a wicked, much more monstrous looking one then before.
"Normally, I have no use for prey as old as you, but I think I'll make an exception just this once!..."She said, as she was about to take a loud stump forward towards her enemies.
However, she was met by an ecto blast by Danny, that sent her flying away.
"AHHHH!..."She screamed, and crashed to the ground.
"Nice one..."Jupiter complimented.
"Thanks..."Danny said, rubbing the back of his head bashfully.
Venus saw this and pouted.
"I was gonna compliment him first..."She muttered, as the heroes gathered around the evil female ghost.
The female yokai got up, but was alarmed and appalled over what had just happened.
"H-How did you even manage to strike me?! No mortals should be able to harm a yokai like me, unless their a priest, priestess or even a monk?!..."She said, looking alarmed.
"Who says that I was just some mortal and I'm also not a priest or a monk either..."Danny said, as he fired again.
The evil female yokai confused by that remark, but sense the kind of energy from the ghost boy and was bewildered by this strange shock.
The fact that the ghost boy was fighting alongside the Sailor Guardians confused the yokai woman to no end. In fact, it angered her too.
"Are you a spirit too?! Why are you helping mortals instead of fighting or frightening them?..."She yelled at him.
"It's in the nature of all yokai to despise all mortals. You shouldn't be battling on their side, if anything you should be helping me defeat them. That way both of us yokai can be free to commit as much evil deeds on to the human race as much as we desire!..."Hachishaku-sama insisted, not understanding why he is joining forces with the Sailor Guardians.
Danny just sent her a disgusted look at that remark.
"One, I'm not evil and you are just a psychotic ghost with no redeeming quality if you really think that...and two...why the heck would I wanna become evil and help a man-eating or in your case a child-eating monster like you!..."The ghost boy said, glaring at her.
"I'd much rather stay good since...unlike you, I'm NOT a maniac who hurts innocent humans for the fun of it. Besides, I get to work with these girls who are not only nicer but way hotter than whatever illusion you used to make yourself to look somewhat human!..."Danny said, not holding back to ridiculing this yokai.
Hachishaku-sama seemed offended to hear this, and her appearance just turned more monstrous than before.
"You think that these mere high school girls are hotter than me?!..."She shouted.
"One, there is nothing mere about them! And two, EVERYONE thinks they are hotter than you, even a blind guy could see that obvious fact even without seeing how that they are good looking inside and out!..."Danny said.
The Sailor Guardians all heard this and each of them felt flattered in their own way.
"Thanks, but I have a boyfriend..."Moon said, but enjoyed the compliment.
"T-thank You for the flattering words..."Mercury said, blushing a bit.
"Aw, he thinks I'm hot!~..."Venus said in a giddy way, as she covered her blushing cheeks with both her hands.
"He's simply stating a fact, that's all..."Mars said, feeling a little conflicted about being praised for her beauty by him.
"Am I really that pretty?..."Jupiter said, blushing slightly since she is not used to being compliments for her appearance, even if it's just at the expense of this new common enemy.
The evil yokai, however, was livid and looked ready to throttle him right now.
"I'm gonna tear you limb from limb!..."She yelled, looking ready to tear Danny and the girls apart.
However, she was soon hit by multiple beams of light, courtesy of Sailor Venus who used her Crescent Beam Shower to land a hit when the evil spirit was distracted.
"AHHH! MY EYES!..."She yelled in pain, as her vision was now blinded.
"What better way to stop you from targeting innocent little children than going straight for your eyes?! Even so, you deserve so much worse for wanting to do any kind of harm to them or their families!..."Venus yelled, showing just how much she dislikes this monster of a villain.
"Huh… nice shot…" Danny said, genuinely impressed by her aim before taking on the yokai himself.
Sailor Venus was beaming with joy.
"Aw, he complimented my aim!…" She gushes with joy.
"Fight now, flirt later! We still have a yokai to exorcise!..."Mars nagged.
Venus pouted at that, but recalled that they were still in a serious situation here.
Danny and the Sailor Guardians soon attacked the evil Hachishaku-sama, each one sending attacks at her. Danny fired ecto-blasts at her, while the girls sent their own attacks.
"Moon Tiara Action!..."Moon shouted, as she threw her tiara-energy disk and hurled it at the enemy.
"Shine Aqua Illusion!..."Mercury explained, as she used her water-based attack on the female yokai.
"Fire Soul!..."Mars shouted, as she aimed and hurled fireballs at the enemy.
"Venus Love Me Chain!..."Venus yelled, as she used her chain-like attack and struck the evil yokai.
"Sparkling Wide Pressure!..."Jupiter shouted as she put her hands together, and fired the lightning-base attack at the evil spirit.
Hachishaku-sama, not used to having people actually fighting her back and not having the odds in her favor, was getting hit and losing the advantage of this battle.
"Accursed Humans! I'll make you pay for this!..."Miss 8 Feet tall yelled, hating that she was losing and getting overpowered by them.
She was soon on the ground, in pain while the heroes still were fairing much better.
"You seriously need to chill out!..."Danny said as he used his ice powers to trap the evil yokai in a block of ice.
"W-WHAT?! What are you doing to me?!..."The evil spirit said, shocked that this is happening.
"I'll take it from here!..."Jupiter said, as she got into position and charged up her attack to finish this fight.
"SUPREME THUNDER!..."She yelled, summoning a familiar technique.
Soon, a large blast of electricity appeared and hit the icy, imprisoned yokai head on, blasting her with 1,000 bolts of electricity.
"AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!..."Miss 8 Feet tall screamed in pain, as the ice that caged her had evaporated away in an instant
"Cool!..."Danny stated, as he covered his eyes and watched the evil female ghost get fried from the inside out by the lightning.
Hachishaku-sama or Miss 8 Feet tall now laid on the ground in pain, unmoving and barely maintaining consciousness, as the 8-foot tall monster woman now looked like a roasted turkey.
"H-How? N-No one has...ever...defeated me...this badly...Ouch!..."She let out in pain, as she didn't even end up capturing one human the entire time she got here.
"You should never have tried to harm innocent children in the first place. And now, you never will ever again!..."Moon declared, as she and all of her teammates striked their respective superhero poses.
"I'm not sure how to pose like you girls...so I won't..."Danny said, feeling awkward and out of place right now.
That got a genuine laugh out of the Sailor Guardians and broke a bit of the serious tension. The ghost boy smiled at them, before glaring down at the monstrous woman whom they have just defeated.
"Normally, I'd just suck a ghost like you into my thermos and send you into the ghost zone. But that might cause a few unwanted problems for a lot of people. Plus, I know a kid and I don't wanna risk the chance of you coming back and trying to target her...So, I think I'll let the Sailor Guardians deal with you on their terms..."He said.
"With pleasure. Those who harm and rip away children from their loving families deserve no mercy when they don't offer any in return!..."Moon said, as she spoke with a lot of authority in her voice then she did before.
Ms. 8 Feet tall whimpered in pain and dismay, as she asked only one question.
"What did I do to deserve this?!..."She yelped, but everyone sent her a look.
"No, really. What did I do to deserve THIS specifically?..."She asked, but was ignored as the Sailor Guardians began to make their final call of judgment for the Hachishaku.
The girls ignored the evil spirit's whining and pleading, while Mars pulled out her shrine maiden Gohei staff and began to perform her shrine maiden duties.
"Evil Spirit Be Exorcised!..."Mars said, as she uses her fire abilities to burn the yokai into nothing more than burned outline on the ground.
Sailor Moon, Sailor Mars and Sailor Mercury used their respective powers to clean up any and all remains of the monsters from the battle, or at least whatever was left of it.
"Well, that's one more bad guy out of the picture..."Sailor Moon said, as she went back to speaking in her regular carefree and cheerful self.
All the while, Danny watched and was stunned from watching the Sailor Guardians preform their duties as Juuban's super heroines.
"I'm REALLY glad that I'm not their enemy..."He thought, as the evil monster was no more.
He was still disturbed by watching it be destroyed, but he also knew that it was much more dangerous to let it roam free. Even he didn't want to risk something like that escaping the ghost zone and hurting more people again...so, he understood that this had to be done.
"Glad that's over..."Danny said, happy that the trouble is over.
"You were spectacular out there, Phantom-san! You were amazing against that yokai!..."Venus said in a fangirly way, overjoyed that they got to team-up again.
"Well, I am pretty used to facing ghosts who are really overconfident in their own abilities and that one was no different either..."Danny said, acting humble with a bit honesty about his latest opponents in Japan.
"Still, having you around greatly proved of chances of success when dealing with Yokais. So please accept our thanks..." Mercury said, as she also has a slight better understanding of Danny's powers and strengths.
She then heard Moon and Mars suddenly get into another one of their infamous arguments, and went to break them up. All the while, the rest of the group gave their thanks to the ghostly superhero.
"Yeah, thanks for the help..."Jupiter said, smiling at him.
That smile made Danny's heart skip a beat for a second.
"Wow...it's strange but...when she smiles...she kinda reminded me of-..."His thoughts were cut off when the following had happened.
A rose suddenly appeared at his feet, and the ghost boy was confused. Danny picked up the rose and looked at it strangely.
"Where did this come from?..."He asked as Jupiter and Venus gasped.
"No way, is that-..."Jupiter spoke up as soon a dramatic voice was heard.
"HALT, EVILDOER! Your misdeeds of miscreant behavior ends here, you sinister specter of unknown origins!I Now suffer for your evil!..."A masked hero in a top hat and suit appeared, standing on top of a tall lamp post.
"Who the heck is that guy?!..."Danny said, as he looked up at the mysterious masked caped hero.
Venus and Jupiter were shocked, as the two male heroes finally met.
