Kagome turned in his lap, not all the way as to straddle him, though. He pulled at her top to check her shoulders and neck. Thankfully, they were ok. Most of her blood loss had come from her back and legs, and one notably on her side. She would need to have that one cleaned and sealed, and he highly doubted she would be willing for him to go mouth-to-mouth with it.

"Sesshomaru," She said his name gently. "Why are you? I mean, it's not that im not grateful,"

"I am aware of what you think of me Miko,"

She looked at him,

"I do not blame you." He added, "You have good reasons,"

"I dont think bad of you," She said,

He put the top back. She put her palm to her head and rubbed her eyes. Sesshomaru shifted her and then stood, holding her in his arms. "Your side needs work, and you need to be cleaned," He wanted more out of the conversation, but he realized it really wasn't the time.

His brother's ashes were not even on the ground fully.

Sesshomaru walked back to camp. "Slayer, you will follow me; the Miko needs your assistance,"

"Ok," She didn't argue and followed.

They reached the water. "Do not soak," He told her, putting her down. Sango helped Kagome to stand.

"I will keep watch," He turned and vanished.

Kagome watched him go.

"Kagome, are you ok?"

Kagome looked at Sango. "He's dead,"

Sango's shoulder slumped. "We know,"

"Are you guys ok?"

"As well as we can be, Miroku is worried about you," Sango helped Kagome undress.

"We knew the risk," Kagome slipped into the water. It was cold but clean, but she knew she would need her medication and a good stitching. "We knew he would run in,"

They knew, but still.

"Part of me thinks-" She didnt want to finish that sentence, but she looked back at Sango. "He is with her now," In the end, his true desire was to be with Kikyo. They knew there was no way to save Kikyo.

"Kagome Inuyasha wasn't himself,"

She knew that, but deep down, she knew he wasn't completely lost to his demonic side. Kikyo died, and he went with her. He always went into battle with Naraku, thinking he would die and join her. He didnt act like it outside the battles, but you could see it when the time came.

She touched her side and hissed. Tears formed, but not from the pain. He did this to her. It would scar and remind her forever of the last time she saw him.

That was not how she wanted to remember him.

"Miko," They heard Sesshomaru call. Kagome hobbled over to Sango and redressed, and they made their way to him, and then they went back to Miroku at camp where a fire was going. Kagome lay close to the fire while Sango went to work on the wound. Sesshomaru hovered nearby.

Miroku cleared his throat. "About the jewel,"

Sesshomaru pulled it from his clothes, showing it to him.

"It is not bothering you?" Miroku asked,

"It has no control over me, Monk,"

"I just realized," Sango started to say as she touched Kagome's deep gash.

"What?" Kagome asked,

"It's the same place the jewel came out of,"

"Maybe we should put it back in?" Miroku stated,

"Can we do that?" Kagome asked,

They all looked at Sesshomaru. He looked at the jewel in his hands and then walked forward. "If you are to remain here, you will need protection,"

"Why would I stay here?"

He made no emotion show, "If you can not return to your time," He knelt and dropped the jewel into the open hole, and Kagome gasped, and a bright light erupted. They looked away, but when they looked back, Kagome's body was healed.

It even took away the scar on her skin, not so much her heart.
