At the end of the display, Sesshomaru waved the women off, and they left. His mother sat chin-high, watching his every move.

Rin joined Kagome, and Sesshomaru left them to go to his mother. At least Kagome was smiling now.

Kagome ate, as did Rin. "Those women were really pretty!" Rin stated,

"Yeah, they were," Kagome agreed, but with that came a price, but that was a lesson for Rin for another day.

Rin chewed her food. "Lady Moon wants Lord Sesshomaru to take a wife,"

Kagome blushed slightly. "It's hard to imagine him with a wife," She said out loud, but more to herself. Rin giggled. "He wouldn't choose any of them, though,"

Kagome looked down at her.

"Lady mother is silly," Rin said,

"Silly?"

Rin looked up at her. "Lord Sesshomaru already knows who he wants to marry!"

Kagome leaned in. "Do you know?"

"Well, it's you, of course!"

Kagome's back went straight, and she laughed nervously.

"Did Lady Kagome not know?" Rin asked, confused,

Surely, the child was kidding.

"Rin, what makes you say that?"

"Rin knows,"

"But how?"

"Lord Sesshomaru looks at you a lot and protects you like he does Rin, and now you live with him too,"

Kagome calmed a bit. "It's not the same," Rin was just a child. It was an innocent thought.

"But he told Rin,"

Kagome went wide-eyed and looked at Rin again. "He told you?" She asked,

"I asked Lord Sesshomaru if he was going to marry you,"

Kagome blinked,

"He said, hn,"

Kagome moved her eyes slowly to where he was. He looked at her, and he noticed she looked off. He narrowed his eyes slightly in confusion as to her sudden change in facial expression.

Kagome swallowed and looked back at Rin "Hey, Rin,"

"Hm?"

"Dont tell Sesshomaru you told me this, ok,"

Rin looked up at her; Kagome had to think fast. "I think he wanted it to be a surprise,"

"Oh," Rin said. "Then Rin won't tell,"

Kagome looked back at him again as he talked to his mother.

Marry her? Her marry him? Why would he tell Rin that?

She thought back to the days prior, the things he said, the way he said them.

Kagome placed a hand on her chest to feel the slight racing in her heart.

Did he really, and what did it mean, and more importantly, how did she feel about it?

She wondered for a moment if Inuyasha had been aware of this

Sesshomaru never thought Rin would bring it up or say anything, so when he answered her, he did so truthfully.

Sesshomaru moved, seeing Kagome's emotions flicker like the flames of a candle.

"Miko,"

Rin smiled, jumped up, and bolted to the moon mother.

Kagome looked up,

"Has something happened?" He asked,

"Happened?"

"Your heart is beating faster,"

Again, she had to think quickly. "I think I just need air, is all,"

"Hn, then come," He offered his arm, and she looked at it. Never before would he have done this. Was Rin really right? Kagome took his arm, and he helped her up.

They walked through the crowd of people who didnt seem bothered by the two of them walking by.

These people were not afraid of her and respected him. While they should have been afraid of her, Kagome was not one to make people fear her power; that was his job,

He took her out into the air, and she let go of his arm.

The air was better. He watched her.

Rin sat down next to his mother.

"Did you tell her," She asked,

"Yeah, but did it ruin the surprise, Lady Kagome told me not to tell Lord Sesshomaru that I told her?"

His mother raised an eyebrow for a moment."Fret not, child; she will not tell on you, and neither will I,"

"Why did you want me to tell her, Lady Moon?"

"Do you wish the Miko to be your mother?"

"Rin would like that!"

"Then trust me,"

Rin smiled, Rin being Rin accepted the answer and went on with her carefree day.
