Momo blinked. "Excuse me?" She asked, sitting up and staring.
'Dude, no offense,' Marvin said. 'Actually, total offense, you fucking suck at explaining things.'
Izuku rubbed the back of his head. "I think it's better if I just show you."
"Izuku, wha-"
"I'm still saying that's the worst way you could've gone about it," Marvin muttered, taking control.
Momo did a double take; Izuku's entire demeanor had changed. His shoulders slumped slightly, but his chest puffed out more. His eyes had that half-shut look as if he were bored, and his intonation had changed, becoming flat while still showing emotion.
"I- Izuku?" Momo asked.
Marvin sighed. "I'm not Izuku. He's currently doing backflips up here tryna calm down," He said, gesturing to his head. "He's panicking."
"You're the-"
"Yeah," Marvin shrugged. "As you can see, I'm very different from Izuku. I share his body but don't control him. He can take control anytime, but the reverse is also true."
Momo blinked. Truthfully, even sharing a body, the two were unmistakably different. Even ignoring the slightly threatening aura Marvin projected even in his relaxed position, there were very slight physical differences.
She noticed how Izuku's teeth became slightly sharper, particularly his canines, which almost looked like tiny knives. His eyes were smaller, even discarding the half-shut look Marvin adopted whenever he was in control. His hair was slightly darker, almost unnoticeable, unless Momo concentrated on it, and the veins across his arms bulged somewhat.
Even though the combined changes were so small that Momo couldn't notice them unless she looked hard, they were still enough that she felt like she wasn't looking at Izuku but rather a twin.
"Ok, but how did you get into his body?" Momo asked, narrowing her eyes a little.
Marvin shrugged. "No clue. I haven't unlocked that many memories yet."
"Memories?" Momo asked, her brows furrowing.
"I'm not originally from here," Marvin replied, staring at her. "I'm from America nearly 60 years ago, back when Quirks either didn't exist or were so rare they might as not have. I woke up in Izuku's body the morning of the Entrance Exam, knowing my name and my rough age of approximately 17, but I'm not certain."
Momo paused, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. "Can I talk to Izuku?"
Izuku took control and rubbed his arm a little. "So?"
"Izuku," Momo pinched the bridge of her nose. "I can understand the two people thing since it's so obvious, but how did a teenager from six decades ago end up inside your mind? One that seems like he's constantly on the verge of violence, I might add."
'Ouch,' Marvin rolled his eyes. 'Talk about a warm fucking welcome.'
Izuku frowned slightly. "Momo, he's a bit scary, sure, but he's probably the only reason I'm still alive. He's a soldier and grew up during the Quirk Dark Age."
'Nah, don't bother,' Marvin sighed. 'I'm used to people being scared of me. Learned to tune it out after a bit.'
'That's not right, though. No one should have to be scared of you.'
Marvin scoffed. 'Oh, please. The only person who was never scared of me was my sister, and look what happened to her. Dead as hell.'
Momo rubbed her eyes. "Izuku, his entire demeanor seems like he's moments away from attacking me."
'Still here, you know,' Marvin scowled. 'Wait 'till I go to fucking sleep at least, Jesus fucking Christ.'
"Momo," Izuku sighed. "He's someone who's been fighting his whole life, and this is your first time meeting him."
Momo ran her hands through her hair. "I'm just wondering how many of our moments were with you and how many were with this stranger I'm just meeting."
"All of them were with him," Marvin rolled his eyes. "I rarely take over when you're around. I take over mostly during fights since that's where he needs more help, excluding the Sports Festival."
"And how do I know that?" Momo replied, rubbing her temples.
"Because I have every motivation to lie," Marvin drawled, handing control back to Izuku.
"Momo, he's being honest. The only time he was in control when you were around was when I said you were beautiful, and that was only because I was too nervous to tell you," He murmured the last part, rubbing his neck.
"So the two times you had said I was beautiful were said by him?" Momo asked, feeling an emotion she didn't recognize swell in her chest.
'Hold on, I know where this is going,' Marvin grumbled, taking control.
"Look, Yaoyorozu," Marvin sighed. "Midoriya's been thinking it for hours, to the point it's genuinely driving me more insane than I already am. He gets nervous around you, so much so he can't form proper fucking words. His entire mind is on you, so if you think he didn't mean those compliments just because I said them, you're dead wrong."
Momo blinked, feeling the emotion pop like a balloon. She let out a deep breath, sighing as she processed the information.
"Fucking hell, the kid's spent three hours raving about how you nearly kissed the first time," Marvin rolled his eyes. "If you could hear this guy's thoughts about you, I swear he'd never need to say he loves you for you to know."
He gave back control to Izuku, sitting heavily in Izuku's mind as he watched Izuku take care of a blushing Momo.
'Are you ok?' Izuku asked as Marvin dug his tongue into his top left canine, letting out a breath as he did so.
'Yeah,' Marvin replied gruffly. 'Guess I just got used to people not being scared of me. Don't worry about it; focus on her.'
He closed his eyes, tuning out Izuku's conversation and letting himself drift into his memories. He didn't do it often because his memories made him angry more often than not.
He sighed, opening his eyes as he felt his surroundings shift. That was the annoying part of his memories and skills; he couldn't ever exist in a space without knowing it intimately.
Marvin raised an eyebrow as he saw the space he was in. It was dark, extending far beyond anything even his highly enhanced eyesight could make out. The floor seemed made of purple stone, and there was nothing in the space beside him.
He turned as he felt someone appear to his senses, groaning as he saw a bald man with an open jacket walk over.
The man did a double take. "You- you're not Midoriya."
Marvin rolled his eyes as he stood. "And who are you? The Ghost of Christmas Past? Newsflash: I already know I'm a bad person."
The man narrowed his eyes at him. "Who are you?"
"A hero for fun," Marvin quipped, though disappointed as the reference seemed to fly over the bald man's head.
"I'm a guy living in I- Midoriya's head, have been for a while," Marvin sighed. "I help him occasionally, and he just told his girlfriend about me. And you are?"
The man raised his arm, palm up, and black tendrils appeared, the same ones he and Izuku often struggled to use. They lazed about, twisting into intricate shapes before going back to normal.
Marvin tensed slightly. Whoever this person was, if they could use that ability with that much control, they were dangerous.
"Name's Daigoro Banjo," The bald man said. "I'm the fifth holder of One for All and Blackwhip's original owner."
Marvin raised an eyebrow. "So what are you? Some kind of spirit?"
Banjo shrugged. "I'm a vestige, preserved inside One for All along with our Quirk Factors."
"And you're talking to me now, why?" Marvin asked, letting himself relax slightly. He could feel no killing intent from the man and was confident in his ability to do so if needed.
Banjo grunted. "I meant to contact Izuku Midoriya, the ninth holder, but you appeared instead."
"I'm part of Izuku's mind," Marvin shrugged. "In a way, you're still indirectly speaking to him. He can see my memories, and I'm telling him his Quirk's fucking haunted."
"Wait, you called him Izuku just now but called him Midoriya a minute ago," Banjo noticed. "So, are you his friend or not?"
"I am, but his girlfriend looked slightly uncomfortable that I called him Izuku," Marvin said. "So I'm calling him Midoriya because I'm pretty sure she'd get upset if I called him by his given name."
Marvin rolled his shoulders, feeling something in the air twitch. It didn't feel like a person or object but something floating in the wind. He subconsciously covered the base of his neck, letting his palm rest on the top vertebrae of his spine.
"Why did you want to talk to Midoriya?" Marvin asked, staring at Banjo with half-shut eyes. "I'll pass on the message."
"You're using Blackwhip wrong," Banjo said bluntly. "Stop thinking of it as part of One for All, but instead as its own Quirk, and control will become much easier."
"Noted," Marvin replied as he pulled his lips back and rubbed the corners with his free hand. "Anything else?"
Banjo shook his head. "You'll talk to us again eventually. We can tell you more then. Right now, you're needed outside."
Marvin let the arm holding his neck fall, bringing his elbow forward while fingers still rested on his neck. He waved goodbye to Banjo with his free hand and closed his eyes.
He took a deep breath, and when he opened his eyes, he was back in Izuku's mind.
Marvin turned to see what Izuku was doing, seeing him walk out of the hospital and say goodbye to Momo.
'Oh, good. We're out,' Marvin commented, causing Izuku to jump.
'You scared me,' Izuku held his chest inside his mind and in the real world.
'Your perception of your surroundings sucks,' Marvin yawned. 'Let me take over; there's a memory you need to see. It's about One for All.'
Izuku looked at him oddly but shrugged. Marvin wasn't motivated to lie; even if he did, he wouldn't gain much from it.
Marvin jumped through the city, wearing standard civilian clothes but ensuring the Temporary License was in his pocket.
'This feels weird,' He muttered as he landed near a rooftop. 'I really shouldn't be enjoying running around so much.'
He sighed. "Guess I just missed the freedom of it," He mumbled, leaping off to another building.
Marvin pumped One for All to as much as he could handle, about 25%, before rocketing off to where he knew Izuku's home was.
Even while running, he looked for threats with his senses, having been ambushed one too many times to let his guard down.
'That's interesting,' Izuku mumbled, returning from the memory just as they heard a scream.
Marvin turned before he could fully process the noise, jumping from building to building in pursuit of the sound.
"And he FLIPS through the air with the greatest of ease!" He exclaimed as he flipped into a street.
He axe-kicked a Nomu in the head, flipping again and landing to its left.
"OI, BIG AND UGLY," Marvin yelled, getting the Nomu's attention. "PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR SIZE!"
He launched into the Nomu, slamming into its chest rapidly.
He ducked under an arm, punching it in the stomach.
Marvin jumped back, backflipping as he dodged the Nomu's strikes.
"The broccoli boy on his flying trapeze!" He yelled, jumping and kicking Nomu in the jaw.
Izuku stepped up, and the two began sharing control.
Blackwhip launched out, wrapping around Nomu's arms.
They pulled it off-balance before kneeing it in the face.
They rolled forward, moving past Nomu and pulling with Blackwhip.
Nomu's arms shot back out of their socket, and it stumbled off balance.
It screeched, and Izuku grabbed his head in pain, Blackwhip dissipating.
Nomu healed, turning and backhanding Izuku into a street light.
Izuku got up slowly, barely raising his arms to block as Nomu punched his face.
Marvin's aura flared, and Nomu faltered, stepping back a little.
Izuku broke its arm with a punch, slamming Blackwhip into its jaw to stop another screech.
He leaped, axe-kicking Nomu in the brain with as much force as he could muster.
Nomu's head essentially liquidized, and Izuku pulled himself with Blackwhip as it fell.
Izuku landed in the middle of the street, Marvin stepping back from control with a massive headache. The shared control was more manageable now, but it still exhausted them severely.
"WHOO!"
Izuku turned as he heard cheers, and Marvin was glad he wasn't in control. The sounds were jarring even with Izuku's average hearing level; someone like him would probably pass out.
Izuku flushed as people took pictures, shouting out questions as police began to arrive.
An officer approached him, holding a notepad in her lizard-like hands.
"Are you the person who took out this creature?" She asked.
"Yes, ma'am," Izuku replied with a slight smile. "My name is Izuku Midoriya."
"Midoriya, huh?" She raised an eyebrow at his green eyes and hair. "Fitting," She murmured, writing something down.
"And uh, Midoriya, do you have a License to use your Quirk publicly in such a fashion?" The officer asked.
"OH. Yes, ma'am," Izuku replied, digging in his pocket, pulling out his License, and proudly handing it to the woman.
The woman snorted as she took the License. She wrote some things down before handing the License back to him with a smirk.
"So, Duality. The first criminal you stopped with that License?" She asked.
Izuku did a double take. "How did you-"
The woman laughed. "Please, honey. Nobody is that excited to show their License to us. Trust me, I've been in this for ten years; you'll eventually get tired of being carded every time."
Izuku rubbed the back of his head with a smile. "I doubt that, ma'am. Being a hero is my dream."
"Well, it looks like you're already there. Good job," The woman smiled. "Duality."
Izuku beamed, feeling pride swell in his chest at being referred to by his Hero name in a professional setting.
'They're going to know it one day,' Izuku thought. 'They'll recognize me just like they recognize All Might.'
He was asked a few more questions, like if he knew anything about the villain, what he was doing before he fought the Nomu, and if they could contact him if they had any more questions.
The woman raised her eyebrows as Izuku told her he was running through the city after being released from the hospital, and they nearly disappeared into her hair as she realized who he'd been fighting to put him there.
"Talk about energy," The woman mumbled, shaking her head. "Fights the Hero Killer, gets let out of the hospital, and immediately fights another villain not even half an hour after."
Izuku left after a goodbye to the officer and an excited wave to the people cheering from the sidelines.
He shared control with Marvin, and Blackwhip shot out, launching them to a rooftop as they left.
'Well, that was fun,' Marvin commented before becoming serious. 'Is it just me, or are these things getting smarter?'
'What do you mean?' Izuku asked as they headed home.
'The first time we fought these things, they had no defense against us,' Marvin explained. 'The ones from the other day eventually found out our weakness to loud noise, but this one found it out within two minutes.'
Izuku frowned. 'You're right. Do you think the person sending them makes them that way, or is it just a coincidental result of better programming?'
Marvin thought for a bit. 'Definitely on purpose. It's weird how we run into these things four times out of our two patrols. The League of Villains guy making these things either has a LOT of them, or they have their eyes on us and are running a field test.'
'How do you know it's not a field test throughout Japan?' Izuku asked.
Marvin frowned. 'You could be right, and it could be coincidence. But we haven't heard much about attacks beyond our areas, with Hosu and Nejire's location being the only exceptions. These things aren't naturally spawning since everyone is similar in size, strength, and speed, with only minor differences.'
Izuku landed back home, entering as quietly as possible to avoid bothering his mother.
Inko ran up to him anyway, hugging him fiercely. She pulled back, and Izuku could see dark circles under her eyes. Her face looked pinched as if she'd lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time.
"Oh, Izuku," She whispered, tears in her eyes. "You're finally home."
She hugged him again before pulling back and immediately going into 'Overprotective Mom' mode.
"Do you need anything? Are you hungry? You must be after not eating for so long," She fussed. "All Might came along; it was such a shocker that I nearly fainted. He said you were a Hero now and that he'd gotten you a Provisional Hero License. Did you know about that? OH, and he said something about you taking on the Hero Killer? Izuku Midoriya, do you know how worried I was?"
"Mom," Izuku said gently. "I'm fine; I'm not hungry. No, really, I promise. All Might gave Momo and me a Temporary Hero License to stop us from getting in trouble. Yes, I fought Stain, but so did Momo, Todoroki, and Iida; they all helped."
"If you're sure," Inko muttered. "Can I see your License, honey?"
Izuku eagerly showed his License to her. It didn't matter what the officer said; he wouldn't ever get tired of showing people he'd achieved his dream, if only for a little while.
"OH, IZUKU," Inko hugged him tightly. "My baby's a Hero now. Oh my god, we need to tell everybody. This is such an important step for you, Izuku. You finally achieved your dream. I'm so sorry for doubting you; I promise to be as supportive as possible from now on."
"Mom," Izuku said again. "It's only temporary. I'll get it permanently once I take the Exam so we can tell people then. And you already showed me so much support in making my hero costume; thank you."
He hugged her, and Inko burst into tears, hugging him tightly.
"I need to sleep now," Izuku yawned a little. "I'm still tired. I've been up for a few hours and just talked with Momo about some things."
"Of course, Izuku," Inko replied, letting him go.
Izuku slowly stumbled to his room, feeling far beyond exhausted even after being asleep for nearly three days. Apparently, One for All used more stamina than he previously thought. That, or he was just much more exhausted than he believed.
"Izuku?" She asked, and Izuku paused, turning to her and rubbing his eyes.
"Yes, Mom?"
"About this Momo girl," She smirked. "Am I going to be a grandma soon?"
Izuku turned beet red and covered his face, mumbling something incoherent as Marvin laughed maniacally in his head.
"I- I love her, Mom," He choked out. "She said she loves me too."
Inko beamed and hugged him again. "I'm glad you're happy, Izuku. Just one thing?"
"Yes?" Izuku asked, feeling nervous at her smirk.
"Don't have kids before you graduate," Inko patted his cheek before bustling off to her room, leaving Izuku stammering in the hallway.
'Does EVERYONE think I'm dating Momo?' Izuku groaned, hiding his red face.
'I'm pretty sure Mina said something about a betting pool on when you'd finally confess,' Marvin snorted, trying and failing at hiding his laughter.
Izuku groaned again, and Marvin laughed so much tears picked at his eyes.
Izuku crawled into his bed after changing, with Marvin having calmed down somewhat, though he occasionally went into another laughing fit.
'It is NOT that funny,' Izuku grumbled as he lay down.
'It's kinda funny,' Marvin replied with a smirk.
The next day hit Izuku like a freight train, and he groaned as he turned off his alarm. There wasn't a part of him that didn't ache like he'd done another of All Might's training days, and his bones felt like a steamroller had run over him.
'Rise and shine, sleeping beauty,' Marvin drawled in amusement as Izuku struggled to get up.
'I want to sleep,' Izuku grumbled, pulling a pillow over his head. 'I'm tired.'
Marvin laughed. 'Come on. Where's that Plus Ultra spirit? You get to see Iida, Uraraka, and Todoroki again.'
Izuku just groaned in reply, and Marvin rolled his eyes.
'So you're going to leave Momo sad that she didn't see you today?' He asked with a shrug. 'Ok.'
Izuku shot up and was changed so fast that Marvin would've sworn he used One for All to do it if he didn't know better.
Izuku had brushed his teeth and was ready to go in under five minutes; his previous exhaustion had utterly evaporated.
'Just a friend, huh?' Marvin rolled his eyes.
Izuku flushed before blinking rapidly. 'Speaking of Momo, there's something I need to show you. It happened while you were talking to Lariat.'
'Lariat?' Marvin's brows furrowed before sighing. 'Right, hero, bald guy. I forget you know a lot about heroes.'
Marvin blinked as he appeared in Izuku's hospital room, seeing Izuku and Momo talk from outside Izuku's body.
Momo had her head on Izuku's chest, halfway sitting on his lap while his arms rested around her waist.
"So you guys can switch control at any time?" She asked, looking up at him.
Izuku nodded. "It was a struggle before since it's like moving from the driver's seat to the passenger's while the car is on the road, but we managed."
"Can you guys share control?" She asked again, her curious mind unable to help itself.
Izuku made a so-so gesture. "Sometimes. Only if we have the same goal: we shared during the Festival after saving you, when we fought the Nomus a few days ago, and when we began fighting Stain."
Momo hummed a little. "So, during combat, does that affect your body?"
"It does, actually," He smiled. "We can use more of One for All, along with those black tentacles we used. We can't use them separately, but if we share control, we get stronger, faster, and more capable of handling One for All."
Momo's brows furrowed. "But you used those tentacles when you nearly killed Stain. That would mean you were sharing control during that, too, but you said you can't remember anything about that."
"Neither can Marvin," Izuku confirmed before frowning. "You're right about that, but we can't remember anything besides hugging you after breaking out of his Quirk."
Momo's eyes widened. "What if your sharing control strengthens you, but at the cost of your control and memories? Marvin said his memories were locked and still are; what if that spreads to you when you share control?"
Izuku's eyes widened. "I- I never thought of that. The fight with Stain was the longest we've shared control, so we don't have much information about that, but you could be right."
The world around Marvin faded, and he was back in Izuku's mind, watching him enter UA.
'So that's concerning,' He commented, causing Izuku to jump.
Marvin rolled his eyes. 'Again, no spatial awareness.'
'So you saw the memory?' Izuku asked.
Marvin nodded. 'What she says makes sense, but we have no way to prove it. The only time we've shared is during combat, and we're not about to risk innocent lives to test out a theory.'
'What about the training rooms?' Izuku asked. 'Now that Momo knows about you AND One for All, she can help us by telling us if we're losing control.'
'You're suggesting we punch your girlfriend to see if she's right?' Marvin asked in amusement.
Izuku flushed. 'She's not my- whatever. And we wouldn't punch her; maybe use one of those heavy bags from the gyms to train and see how long it takes.'
'Your idea is dangerous and possibly stupid,' Marvin declared before grinning. 'I'm in.'
They walked into class and immediately froze at the chaos within.
Bakugo was yelling at Kirishima and Kaminari, but the blond boy's usually spiky hair was flattened in a style eerily familiar to the Hero Best Jeanist.
Iida was explaining some things to Uraraka, robotically chopping his arm as Uraraka sat on the desk, head on her hand, elbow on her knee, staring at Iida with interest.
Mineta was shivering in the corner, mumbling something about an evil woman and becoming a monk that Marvin found highly amusing.
Tsu was wearing a seal hat with soft wool flippers covering her ears and excitedly telling Mina about something.
Mina looked normal besides the smoky eyeshadow she wore; her hair was touched up, and her nails were painted a soft black.
Shouji was doing a handstand next to Ojiro, who was balancing on his tail like a kangaroo.
Tokoyami played with Dark Shadow, the dark manifestation seemingly dancing to invisible music.
Todoroki was talking with Momo, making some ice on his fingertips to explain something, as Momo nodded.
Jiro spun a coin on her earphone jacks while Hagakure twisted her arm, reflecting light into it and causing the coin to shine a rainbow on the wall.
In the back of the class, Sato could be seen sprinkling sugar on the floor as Koda spoke to the ants next to him.
"DEKIRU," Uraraka exclaimed, jumping from the desk and rushing to him. Iida was only a step behind her.
She hugged him, and Iida patted his back, but her exclamation caught the class's attention.
Soon, Izuku was swarmed by his classmates, all asking for everything from Stain to Hero Licenses.
"Guys, guys," Izuku said, making a pacifying gesture with his hands to try and get them to quiet down.
"OI," Bakugo barked, letting off a small explosion. "How's he going to answer if you don't let him speak?"
The class fell silent, and Izuku breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank you, Ka- Bakugo," Izuku corrected himself at the last second.
Bakugo sucked his teeth in annoyance. "Don't question it, nerd."
"Well?" Kirishima asked. "Did you do it?"
"Do what, Kirishima?" Izuku replied, genuinely confused.
"He's asking if you beat the Hero Killer," Kaminari jumped in.
"Oh, well," Izuku rubbed the back of his head. "Well, I had a lot of help from Momo and Todoroki."
"Midoriya, you were the one who saved me; Yaoyorozu and Todoroki came because you called them," Iida stated, sounding almost offended that Izuku wouldn't take the credit. "They may have helped you, but you were the one who saved my life."
"Three cheers for Midoriya," Kaminari exclaimed. "For saving the life of our Class Rep!"
Izuku shouted a little in surprise as he was hoisted up by Shouji, the entire class cheering as if he'd won some important medal.
'Is this normal?' Izuku asked, slightly panicked at all the attention he was receiving.
Marvin shrugged. 'No clue; didn't have many friends back home.'
They eventually let him down, and Izuku's face was red as the class cheered.
"Did you and Yaomomo really get your Hero Licenses?" Uraraka asked.
"Yeah, we tried to get Yaoyorozu to show us, but she didn't," Kaminari added.
"OH. Oh, yeah," Izuku quickly dug out his Hero License from his bag.
Uraraka snatched it from his hands, examining it like a jeweler would inspect a gemstone.
"Woah, you're a Pro Hero now, Dekiru," She gasped, handing the License to Mina.
"How'd you get this?" Mina asked, turning it over in her hands.
"Oh, All Might gave it to me," Izuku rubbed the back of his head.
"ALL MIGHT?" 1-A exclaimed, excluding Momo and Todoroki since the former knew and had told the latter.
"Nighteye's agency approved it," Kirishima pointed out. "I heard Nighteye's super hard to impress. For him to approve this-"
"Have you used it yet, Midoirya?" Tsu asked.
"I fought a Nomu after leaving the hospital," Izuku replied.
"EXCUSE ME?" Momo yelled from the back.
1-A parted as Momo quickly approached him, looking a mix of concerned and deathly angry.
"You did WHAT?" She asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
Izuku winced slightly. "Um, I- I was heading home and saw one, so you know, I had to," He mumbled, rubbing his arm.
Momo sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Were you hurt?"
Izuku shook his head. "I beat it quickly and left after the police showed up."
"Wow, Midoriya, your girlfriend is scary when angry," Kirishima muttered.
Unfortunately, Momo heard him.
Her head whipped around to glare at him, and Kirishima stepped back as her eyes bore into him.
"We're not DATING," She yelled, storming back to her seat and sitting heavily.
"What happened?" Mina asked quietly, scared that Momo would yell at her, too.
'Still processing my existence,' Marvin rolled his eyes. 'She still feels weird that her boyfriend's two people and doesn't know how to process her emotions.'
'How do you know that?' Izuku asked, brows furrowed.
Marvin sighed. 'She's been acting weird since you told her about me. I can see she doesn't like me, probably because she thinks I'm either A) a bad influence on you, B) holding your body hostage, or C) going to get you killed. Probably a mix of all three, if I'm being honest.'
'And what do you think about that?' Izuku asked, hoping the dislike wasn't mutual.
Marvin shrugged. 'I don't care, honestly. I won't take control when she's around, even for a small comment, and I will probably keep trying to find a way to separate us for our benefit, but beyond that, I don't hate or dislike her. She's a teenager in an unimaginable situation; she'll come around.'
.
.
Author's Note: And that's the chapter! Sorry this took so long, but I rewrote the beginning scene three times because I didn't like how it turned out. I feel like this version is much more realistic. Just for context, Momo doesn't HATE Marvin; she's just someone who had a lot dumped on her at once, and her wariness of Marvin (Who's described as dangerous even in his memories) is at war with her love for Izuku so it's creating a lot of tension internally.
She will eventually come around, but for now, she's weirded out, and against Marvin taking control of Izuku's body.
A kind reviewer said that the License scene from the last chapter felt a bit cheap because it came from nowhere, so the next chapter will have All Might explaining it to Izuku to at least provide some backstory.
