Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Destiny. Enjoy the 800-word story. I do not own Destiny; Bungie and a few others do.
The Warlock was all too much distracted by fighting against Taken, he was busy shooting them, busy fighting them off once.
There was something else coming, something about it all had been too much… A distraction within him now.
He had boarded the dreadnought to take down Oryx. He had been too thrown off at the end of the time being.
Right now? The Warlock was busy dealing with work beyond… Even the Cabal who had been the most brutal soldiers to fight, enemies he had been forced to fight against now at the end of the day.
Now? He pitied them, he pitied the enemy, he had understood just what they would have been through, the hellish magic used to curse them once more.
He would not have distracted himself that they were an enemy… But he did know that they were an enemy less evil than the Taken and the Hive.
That was why? No matter HOW much he hated it? He powered up a nova bomb as a hulking colossus was beginning to be taken, he hurled it into the core of the hellish darkness.
It exploded, screaming, and receding enough for the hulking Cabal commander to escape. The warlock raised his pulse rifle and continued to attack the Hive acolytes who surged against the light user who DARED to attack their god-king.
The warlock did not care then… But his act of defiance, a strike against a common enemy? It had thrown the Skyburners into a stupor.
They were enemies… And yet one of the warriors of the traveler had aided them, saved them when they had been needed now and for good reason, a pity upon them.
The Warlock continued to gun down the Hive as the Cabal Primarch called for a retreat, knowing they were outmatched against the Hive and knowing the Taken King had a private and personal interest in such things now.
It had been something grand, something majestic. They had conquered worlds… Yet? He had been too distracted, too unable to deal with these sorts of things.
The cabal watched as the muzzle flashes of the guardian's gun faded, the guardian advancing into the depths of the dreadnought with it as he relaxed.
Something about it made him think only about how well he had acted once more as he paused.
He was all too much distracted by himself. The Skyburners all shared looks… The guardian had decided to aid them… Aid was what they would give in return.
So? Several of them turned, advancing back into the room… And instead providing covering fire to the guardian who blinked, shocked at them coming to his aid.
It surprised him far beyond what he was used to dealing with… But the Warlock simply turned back to dealing with the Hive, steady clacks of his rifle as he gunned down Hive soldier after Hive soldier.
He had been too distracted by work, by more and more work was to come now.
He sighed to himself as he paused, distracting himself with all such things going onward and onward. He pulled another magazine and kept firing as soon as it went into his weapon.
He had no real idea as to try and think of what was growing on his mind. He had a lot more ideas to try and relax for now.
He knew more and more and more that each little option… Something about it all had been too much, too soon. A costly adventure if ever there was one, something at the end of the day when it came down to it.
Something was going through their mind as Ta'aun sighed, looking over at the guardian as they waved them off.
It was clear despite his best efforts at the time being? Both sides were going to be fighting against a common enemy, even if they did not seem to be distracted at the end of it all now.
Something about it all made the guardian… On edge, guns behind him, guns in front of him.
He knew what was growing on his mind as he thought of it all when it was said and done… It was too much now… And then came the explosion of energy.
