This is an idea I came up with a long time watching episodes of Yugioh gx recently I thought I'd decide to publish it

Now due to the email system being down again I'm going to put down a list of all stories I've published/updated in May

Tailed Beast Duelist
The sun was barely poking above the horizon over Domino city as a blonde haired boy with whisker birthmarks on his cheeks wearing an orange jacket with black stripes running down the arms unzipped over a black tee shirt orange pants and blue sneakers wearing a duel disc on his arm
This was Naruto Uzumaki and he was a prospective student for duel academy
"Come on move your butt Uzumaki" Naruto said as he kept running not noticing a blonde man walking out of a coffee shop Naruto collided head on with him knocking his deck to the ground
"Oh man I'm sorry mister" Naruto said sheepishly as he knelt down to pick up his deck the man put down his coffee to help noticing the cards "you're a duelist"
"Yep I'm running late to the duel academy entrance exams" Naruto explained "you're looking at the future King of Games"
"King of Games huh" the man smiled wistfully handing Naruto his cards "you know the entrance exams don't start for another two hours right"
"WHAT" Naruto loudly exclaimed before looking at his watch "aw man I didn't my watch is set to the wrong time zone" he grumbled before he shrugged oh well he was up anyways might as well head to the exam now instead of rushing like a crazy person
"Sorry again mister" Naruto said before running off
"Hey kid" Naruto stopped turned to the man seeing the man smile and give him a thumbs up "good luck"
Naruto smiled a megawatt grin
"Thanks" he said before rushing off skidding to a stop when he saw a restaurant his stomach rumbled "well I've got a couple of hours to kill might as well get some breakfast"
After three pancakes two cheese omelettes and a dozen bowls of restaurants Naruto was the first to register for the entrance exam and get his spot
Taking his place he waited for his name to be called to be he watched his fellow examinees duel against the examiners some were good and some not so much
"Naruto Uzumaki to duel arena 3 Naruto Uzumaki to duel arena 3" the PA system announced Naruto grinned standing up finally it was his turn Naruto made it to duel arena three
"Welcome examinee my name is Iruka Umino a teacher at Duel Academy" he said activating his duel disc
"Nice to meet you too Iruka sensei" Naruto replied activating his duel disc
"Don't count your chickens before they hatch examinee you have to beat me to become one of my students" Iruka replied
Naruto grinned "I plan to"

"My turn draw" Iruka said looking at his hand "I summon Hitotsume giant in attack mode"
The hologram of the card appeared followed by a green cyclops

"Next I play one card face down and end my turn" Iruka said "now it's your turn examinee"
Naruto grinned before he drew a card "my turn" Naruto grinned looking at his hand "I summon Serengeti Sorcerer in attack mode"

On the field a baboon wearing a red black and green shawl holding a curved staff somersaulted through the air landing in the field "I equip him with the black pendant to boost his attack points by 500"
A gold pendant with a purple gem appeared on Serengeti Sorcerers neck glowing with mystical power

"Now attack Hitotsume giant with Kilamanjaro lightning" Naruto ordered Serengeti Sorcerer leapt forward holdimg out his staff casting lightning that destroyed the Hitotsume giant

"I'll place two cards face down and end my turn" Naruto said "what do you think of that sensei"
Iruka hmmed drawing a card "not bad examinee let's see how you handle this I activate my face down fissure which destroys the monster on your side of the field with the lowest attack points which means your Serengeti Sorcerer"
A fissure opened underneath the Serengeti Sorcerer that he fell into before it closed behind the primate
"Bad luck for you sensei because when black pendant is destroyed you lose 500 life points" Naruto reminded
Black lightning shocked Iruka lowering his life points

"Some time the best way ahead in a duel is to lose some life points I summon Vorse Raider in attack mode"
The vicious looking beast warrior appeared on the field its axe ready for battle

Attack 1900 Defense 1200
"And now Vorse Raider will attack your life points directly" Vorse Raider roared leaping across the field cutting at Naruto the hologram didn't do anything physically to him but his life points were another story

"And with that I end my turn" Iruka concluded with a grin "I'm not a fortune teller but your enrollment at the academy aren't looking likely to come true" he said playfully
"It's not over until someones lifepoints hit zero" Naruto said drawing a card the hologram of the card appeared the grinning green pot looking at Iruka "I play pot of greed which lets me draw two more cards" Naruto said grinning when he saw what he'd drawn "jackpot now I'll summon Werejaguar guardian in attack mode"
The card appeared on the field as a humanoid jaguar in Aztec armor wielding a macuahuitl leapt onto the field

"You might need reading glasses my Vorse raider has more attack points than your monster
"He does now but not after I equip my Werejaguar with the equip spell axe of despair boosting his attack by a thousand points"
From the hologram of the card came an axe that floated into Werejaguar Guardians hand he roared as a red aura enveloped him his eyes glowed and his attack points went up to two thousand

"That's one stronger than your vorse raider so go attack Werejaguar destroy his Vorse Raider" Werejaguar Guardian roared pouncing with a chop to the neck that was about to shatter him into pixels
"Not so fast examinee I play negate attack which stops your attack" Iruka said the trap card appeared a whirling wind pushed Werejaguar Guardian stopping him

Naruto smiled as Werejaguar Guardian took its place back on Narutos side of the field "I place one card face down and I'll end my turn" a face down card appeared in his spell and trap card zone
"Serengeti Sorcerer and Werejaguar Guardian those aren't cards you can get in a booster pack herw in Tokyo they're Industrial Illusions international releases exclusive to different countries mind telling me how they got into your deck" Iruka asked curiously
Naruto smiled looking down at his deck "my parents passed away when I was a baby so I grew up with my godfather traveling the world for his work as an archaeologist while he spent time in dusty museums I played duel monsters I made a lot of friends and over the years I built my deck with cards they gave me" he explained s iling nostalgically thinking about all the friends he made and all the fun times he had
Iruka smiled "that's a wonderful sentiment let's see what you and your deck can do"
Naruto grinned "I plan to"
Iruka drew a card "I'll start by playing the spell card Monster Reborn to bring back Hitotsume giant" Iruka began Hitotsume giant rose up roaring standing next to Vorse raider
"But he and Vorse Raider won't be around for long I sacrifice Vorse Raider and Hitotsume giant to summon a monster you'll no doubt be familiar with the Dark Magician"

From the two monsters came the iconic monster of Yugi Muto the King of Games himself Naruto was giddy it might not be the Yugi himself but he was dueling against his signature monster
'And I've got the plan to beat it too' Naruto thought
"Now Dark Magician attack destroy Werejaguar Guardian" Iruka ordered "Dark Magic attack" the Dark Magician held his hand held out a field of dark magic surrounded Werejaguar Guardian before it shattered into pixels

"And for my last trick I'll place one card face down ending my turn" Iruka sensei said a facedown card formed in his spell and trap card zone "your move examinee"
Naruto drew a card "I'll summon baby Kitsune in defense mode" Naruto said a orange fox kit with nine tails sitting on top of his card

Effect When Baby Kitsune is summoned one monster with Kitsune in its name can be moved to your hand than shuffle
"I activate Baby Kitsunes ability when he's summoned I can take a monster with Kitsune in its name and place it in my hand" Naruto took his deck out of the duel disc rifling through cards picking out the monster he was looking for than he shuffled his deck placing it back in the slot
"I'll now play the spell card Freyrs Peace" Naruto placed a card in the spell/trap card slot the card appeared two warriors with their weapons at their feet while a man with a golden beard light shining behind him
From the spell card light shined the Dark Magician covered his eyes crouching down going into defense mode
"Now for the next three turns all our monsters can only be in defense mode" Naruto explained "and with that I end my turn"
"My turn than I draw" Iruka said looking at his hand "I'll summon Battle ox in defense mode and end my turn"
The armored ox appeared crouched down in defense mode

"I draw" Naruto said "I summon Apprentice Sorcerer in defense mode"
A young man in a red robe and blue hat holding a spell book in his hand appeared before crouching down in defense mode

"I'll place a card face down and end my turn" Naruto said looking at his hands things were going so far according to plan but he needed the right monster to take out the Dark Magician and wipe out Iruka senseis life points at once
Freyrs peace would last for two more turns so he had two more chances to draw it
"My turn now examinee I draw I summon Twin Headed King Rex in defense mode

"And with that I end my turn"
"My turn again" Naruto drew a card keeping his frown hidden behind a poker face 'one more chance to summon a monster' Naruto thought "I'll place a card face down end my turn"
"My turn" Iruka said "I draw I summon Tiger Axe in Defense Mode"
The armor wearing tiger appeared in Defense Mode

"And with that I end my turn" Iruka said "here's a pop quiz student you've got four powerful monsters what will you do"
"I'll show you" Naruto said drawing a card grinning when he saw who he'd summoned "I summon Polyphemus the Cyclops in defense mode"
Appearing over his card was a tan skinned cyclops wearing Spartan armor roaring he grunted before dropping down behind his shield

"And with that I end my turn" Naruto said "since it's been three turns Freyrs peace is now over" the light faded and the card shattered
"And now its my turn I activate the spell card polymerization fusing Battle Ox with Mystical Centaur to summon Rabid Horseman in attack mode"

The Minotaur Centaur hybrid appeared rearing up on its back legs holding its axe up "I also will switch my monsters to attack mode and have Rabid Horseman attack Polyphemus the cyclops"
Rabid Horseman roared charging forward holding his axe up ready to attack when Naruto grinned "not so fast you've activated my trap card" Narutos card he placed down earlier appeared "blinding sandstorm this stops your battle phase in its tracks" Naruto explained a sandstorm shot out covering the field stopping Rabid Horseman in its tracks
Naruto grinned "I think its my turn now sensei you asked me what I'd do to stop four powerful monsters from attacking me" Naruto said confidently "end your turn and you'll find out"
Iruka nodded "let's see what you've got examinee I end my turn"
Naruto grinned drawing his card not that he'd need it "first off I sacrifice Baby Kitsune to summon The Kyubi no Kitsune Kurama"
Baby Kitsune flipped away before another fox appeared in its place
A much bigger one with dark red fur with red eyes and nine tails letting out a roar

Effect
At the end phase of turn pay 900 life points to keep Kurama on the field
By removing a spellcaster from play this card can be used as an equip spell to a Warrior monster and gain access to Jinchuriki ability
"The Kyubi No Kitsune didn't expect to see a rare monster like that here at the Entrance exams" Alexis Rhodes said to her brothers friend Zane Truesdale
"We'll see if he knows how to use it" Zane said
"How does a slacker like that have the Kyubi No Kitsune" Chazz Princeton demanded furious
"Hey Chazz if he has that do you think he has the rumored tenth card" one of his 'friends' asked
"If he does he won't for long" Chazz answered outraged
Syrus Truesdale looked around "I don't get it what's the big deal about that card" he muttered nervously
"It's a rare card" Bastion Mizawa answered startling Syrus
"I'm sorry I couldn't help but overhear your question the Tailed Beasts were a promotional event created by Industrial Illusions head of design Hagaromo Otsutsuki where contestants had to solve a series of nine riddles that would be increasingly more difficult that would lead participants to nine different game stores according to some rumors if one aquired all nine cards they would be awarded a ultra rare tenth tailed beast card"
"The Kyubi" Iruka said "an impressive summon"
"You haven't seen nothing yet I remove Apprentice Sorcerer from play to equip Kurama to Polyphemus the Cyclops and create a Jinchuriki monster" Apprentice Sorcerer held his hands up turning into light that flashed over Kurama and Polyphemus
"What was once two monsters now become one working together Polyphemus the Cyclops Kyuubi Jinchuriki" Naruto declared
When the light faded Polyphemus stood alone his one eye was now red and there was a swirling pattern with kanji around it on his chest plate

Effect
By Paying 900 Life Points this monster can wipe out all cards on the opponents side of the field
"I activate Polyphemus' new ability see by paying 900 life points I can wipe your side of the board clean" Naruto explained

Polyphemus lifted his spear it glowed red as he swung it unleashing a maelstrom that wiped out every card on Irukas side of the field Naruto grinned "and there's still his attack go Polyphemus attack spiraling spear"
Swirling red energy enveloped the point of Polyphemus' spear charging forward hitting Iruka wiping out Irukas life points in one blow

"WHOOOHOOOOOO I WON" Naruto cheered happily as the holograms faded away grinning "guess you'll be seeing me in class huh Iruka sensei"
Iruka smiled walking over to Naruto shaking his hand "yeah you will be congratulations Naruto welcome to Duel Academy"
Naruto looked down at Irukas hand and grinned shaking it
Walking off of the duel arena with a skip in his step having won his way into his dream school he barely noticed when three guys in blue jackets walked over "all right listen up slacker if you want to step foot in our school you'll be be showing the proper tribute to your betters in Obelisk Blue and hand over your tenth tailed beast"
"My what" Naruto asked
"Don't act deaf slacker you heard me hand over the ultra rare tenth tailed beast actually hand over all of your tailed beasts" the guy in the middle repeated "after all a hastily put together deck of full of junk from around the world doesn't deserve something rare"
His entourage made moves to grab his deck but Naruto stepped away punching the first one in the face knocking him flat onto his butt "you can do a lot to me call me names think you're better than me I don't care but insulting my friends and that's when I get ticked off"
"You Slifer Brute you think you can get away with punching me" the guy Naruto had decked demanded
"In this case yes" Iruka said having seen the entire situation stepped forward "things won't be the same as what you heard from your upperclassmen friends first years Chancellor Kaiba has a zero tolerance policy for bullying or thieves this is your only warning" Iruka said "repeat this behavior and you can enjoy public school"
Iruka looked to the leader "no matter what family they're from" he finished sternly turning to walk off "oh and to settle this behavior there is no tenth tailed beast card the rumor is exactly that a rumor"
His precious school was populated with slackers and those with zero talent Dr. Crowler thought looking to Naruto or in the case of one violent brutes who dare to assault a duelist with actual talent
"Excuse me Dr. Crowler we've got one applicant who just arrived he signed in before we closed" the teacher who'd been out front said
"He should have been here the same time everyone else arrived" Crowler dismissed "tell him to go home and enjoy public school"
"But sir"
"You will address me as Doctor Crowler I have a PHD in Duel techniques that I earned so you will address me as Crowler" Dr. Crowler said before his phone rang "what"
"It's Kaiba" Chancellor Mokuba Kaiba said from the other end sitting in his office at Duel Academy "I trust that there are no problems with the exams"
"One problem a applicant assaulted a student he will be denied entry of course" Dr. Crowler tried to say
"Professor Umino has already informed me of the situation Chazz Princeton and his two accomplices will be demoted to Ra Yellow and placed on probation" Chancellor Mokuba said with finality
"But Sir Chazz Princeton-"
"Is lucky to be ATTENDING at all after the stunt he attempted to pull" Mokuba repeated
"This isn't the same academy that it was under Shepherd rampant bullying toxic living conditions for the Slifer Dorms runaway students living in the woods a child being kept in a underground facility a laboratory setting up shop on school grounds with guns performing illegal unethical experiments on animals covering up the disappearance of several students" Mokuba listed angrily "this is an academy that produces duelists not thugs in blue jackets don't even get me started on the other academies"
"Yes Mr. Kaiba"
"Chancellor Kaiba" Mokuba corrected
"Yes Chancellor Kaiba sir my apologies" Dr. Crowler said
"All applicants will be receiving a fair chance to get into the academy is that clear 'doctor Crowler'
"As crystal sir" Dr. Crowler said before the call ended
'Arrogant little brat the only reason he's in a position to boss me around is because of his brother' Crowler thought seething his nails digging into his palms 'fine if he wants me to give this last applicant a fair chance I'll give him one' Crowler thought "I'll duel this last contestant"
Crowler stood with school security flanking him in front of Chancellor Mokuba Kaiba he was not much older than his students dressed in a sharp suit a glare on his face very identical to the one of his brother
"I gave you a chance Crowler to shape up" Mokuba said "I take my no bullying policy seriously from students and especially from my employees do you think I wasn't aware that you used your personal deck to duel Jayden Yuki do you think I only have a padlock on the fence separating the girls dorms that there weren't cameras installed"
"So than you saw Jayden Yuki and Syrus Truesdale breaking curfew and entering the girls dorms" Dr. Crowler asked
"You mean because of the love note you forged and placed in Mr. Truesdales locker after being reminded of your defeat by Mr. Yuki the same class where you said to Mr. Truesdale he must have been switched at birth because there is no way a stuttering talentless waste like Mr. Truesdale could be related to his brother" Kaiba said reading it
"This is an elite establishment Chancellor Kaiba we shouldn't waste our time with slackers without talent" Crowler
"This is a school we're supposed to teach students to become better to hone the talent of those with it and build it in those without it Joey Wheeler entered duelist kingdom as a novice and he's one of the greatest duelists in the world now" Mokuba stated "as a teacher you should understand that you are dismissed Professor Umino will take your place as dorm advisor for the Obelisk Boys"
Mokuba turned ignoring the outraged shouts from Crowler as he looked out to the school
Seto had placed him in charge of making his schools into premier institutions ones that made the best duelists in the world and he would do it
And done
So yeah after rewatching GX it's a miracle that duel academy has not been shut down and Kaiba be drowning in lawsuits from everything that happened just in the first season
That's not even going into the second season
Yeah during GX the world building of Yugioh went from relatively grounded to completely unbelievably insane in GX within a short amount of time since Jayden was a kid when teenage Kaiba did that card design contest
So this is the only chapter if someone wants to do something similar feel free to adopt the idea
Here's how the tailed beast cards work
Remove a spellcaster from play to equip the tailed beast to a warrior type monster creating a jinchuriki type monster giving the monster half the total attack points of the tailed beasts the jinchuriki card gains a new ability based on whichever tailed beast that can be activsted by paying a sum total of life points relative to the number of tails of the tailed beast
Yes Bastion has all nine tailed beast cards and has one of his decks focused around them
There is no ten tails card or chakra
