INT. JULIE'S ROOM - DAY

Julie is planning protests with a group of friends, discussing signs and slogans for trans rights and Black Lives Matter.

JULIE

(determined)

We have to keep fighting for justice and equality!

PELSWICK

(entering the room)

Julie, can I talk to you for a minute?

JULIE

(concerned)

What's up, Pelswick?

PELSWICK

(upset)

You're always hosting rallies and planning protests... but what about disability rights? You never do anything about that...

JULIE

(surprised)

Pelswick, I... I didn't realize...

PELSWICK

(angrily)

You never realize because you're not disabled, Julie! You don't understand what it's like...

Julie looks taken aback, feeling guilty for not considering Pelswick's perspective.

JULIE

(apologetically)

Pelswick, I'm sorry... I'll do something... I promise...

PELSWICK

(skeptically)

You'd better...

JULIE

(determined)

I'll start by researching and learning more about disability rights. And then, I'll organize a rally or protest to raise awareness and support...

PELSWICK

(skeptically)

Just be sure to include us in the planning process this time. We know what we need, not you...

JULIE

(apologetically)

Of course, Pelswick. I promise to listen and amplify your voices...

CUT TO:

(smiling)

Thanks, Julie. You're really making a difference...

JULIE

(smiling back)

I'm just trying to be an ally. You're the ones making the real difference...
