Chapter 3: Perfect Twins:
Lil's POV:
We were still playing with my cousins. They are so different from us.
Betty's POV:
"Awe, tea," says Winnie, "so much better than coffee, don' you think?"
When she wasn't looking, I poured it in the plant. "Oh yeah."
"Now, abou' Phil and Lil, running amok. Perhaps if you apply some rules, they would work more as a team."
"Well, Winnie, with all due respect, horse pucky! Phil and Lil are two peas in a pod. They do everything together. I mean when me and Lalita adopted Lil, we found out that she has a twin and we learn that her twin, Phil, was adopted by Howard and Girish, so we decided that the six of us should live together and that's why they shouldn't be separated."
Lil's POV:
Phil and I are playing two different things while Smedley and Hedley are playing with blocks together. "Smashing," they both said.
"Because we did i'..." Smedley begins.
"Together," says Hedley, "that's wha' twins do."
Phil and me then looked at what we're doing.
"I say, are you sure... you're twins," asks Smedley.
"You don'' ac' very twinny," says Hedley.
"We don't," I asked.
"No' very twinny a' all," says Smedley.
"No' like us, mummy says we're perfec' twins," says Hedley.
"Perfect twins," I asked, "Phil, we been being twins all wrong!"
"Oh no," says Phil, "I'm not wearing a bow again!"
"No," I said, "I mean, we don't build blocks very good and we fights about stuff a lot."
"Do not," says Phil.
"Do too," I said, "see? We're not perfect twins, Philip. You wanna know why?"
"Not really," says Phil.
"Because we don'' ac' very twinny," I said, "no' very twinny a' all."
