Chapter 5: Your World's a Holiday:
Angelica's POV:
Now no one's gonna get presents. Take that Santa! I then found Santa's workshop. Maybe I can at least get my presents here. I tried to open the door, but I couldn't. I then broke the door down and I saw all the elves.
"Little girl! Santa is not going to be pleased when he sees what you've done to his door!"
"What, it was like that," I said.
"May I ask what you're doing here," says the elf.
"Oh! I'm here to collect the presents that Santa was supposed to get me before he quit," I said.
"And how do you know you were getting any presents, pray tell?"
"I know because I have been good all year. And if it hadn't have been for those dumb babies, I would have been even nicer," I said.
The elf then looks at me. "Is that so? Well, let's just see if you are on the list then. Name?"
"Angelica Pickles."
The elf then looks in a big book. "Pickles, Pickles, Pickles... Ah-ha! 'Tommy Pickles'. 'Dil Pickles'... Just as I thought! There's no 'Angelica Pickles' on the list."
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M NOT ON THE LIST?! Listen elf, I have been looking so hard for this place, and I'm not leaving till I get my Christmas presents!"
"Well, maybe you should have thought about that before you started stealing those cookies and scaring those carolers away... and lie to your friends."
"Wait... I thought Santa was supposed to know if I was bad or good?"
"Santa delegates."
"What's that mean?"
"It means I'm overworked and underpaid! Now, if you excuse us, we've got to get back to work! Better luck next year."
"But what about my Christmas presents?"
"You have to take that up with the supervisor."
"But I've already talked to him, and all he gave me was this dumb-old Reindeer." I then checked my pocket and it's empty. Then a reindeer showed up in front of me. I then knew who it was! "Prancy? Prancy, you're alive!"
"I thought we were friends," says Prancy.
"We are friends," I said.
"Then why did you call me dumb?"
"I dunno, I call a lot of things dumb. It's not that I mean it or anything."
"Come Prancy, I take you back to Santa."
I then ran after them. "Prancy no! I'm sorry I called you dumb, come back!"
"Why did you agree to help Elmer Scrooge turn everyone naughty," asks the elf.
"I had to," I said, "it's not fair that I'm not getting any presents while everyone else is!"
"I'm sorry to be the one to say this, Angelica, but here in Christmas Land, there is no place for kids like you."
"But I wanna be in Christmas Land."
Hermie: As Christmas elves
We have no time
For children who aren't nice
We give the good kids
Lots of toys
And give the bad ones lice
But if you want to change all that
Then this you should obey
Just treat each day like Christmas
And your world's a holiday
Prancy: Santa asks us every year
To fly on Christmas Eve
He asked my brother Rudolph
But forgets my brother Steve
'Cause Steve's the kind of reindeer
Who would always make a fuss
He was never very cheery
And was mean to all of us
Hermie/Prancy: Christmas isn't Christmas
If you have no friends to share
To joys of cheer
With half a year
Of happiness to spare
So, if you want a life of fun
Then lose those bossy ways
And treat each day like Christmas
So, your world's a holiday
Angelica/Hermie/Prancy: Treat each day like Christmas
So, your world's a holiday!
"Thanks, Mr. Elf-" I then saw everyone was gone and Prancy was a toy again. I have to stop Mr. Screwloose!
