"That was… wow. Really just… I mean…" Arms a little shaky from exertion, Lucifer lowered his body to the bed, lying down next to Adam. He could have sworn he was falling in love again, the sex was just that good. The bed wasn't big enough for them to lay flat on their backs at the same time, so Lucifer turned to his left side to face Adam. He took Adam's right hand in his own and pulled it close to his chest, and his horns and wings disappearing as he resumed his neutral form. The red glow in his eyes faded back to yellow, and his yellow irises shifted back to red.

"It was… Yeah. It really fuckin was…" Adam spoke weakly in agreement, the lack of description on both their parts really summing it up. Turning into Lucifer, Adam extended his arm to rest his free left hand on his partner's waist, half awake, happily holding onto his smaller frame his hazy post-orgasmic state. His chest rose and fell rhythmically as he drifted in and out of consciousness.

"This feels like a dream…" Lucifer whispered sweetly, reaching over to touch Adam's cheek while he observed him. There was so much to like about him- the confidence he carried himself with, the crimson color of his eyes and the dark circles underneath them, the brunette hair on his head, face, and body, his badass piercings, his new bullish horns and lower legs, his large muscles and heavy set frame, not to mention the sheer size of his body and… his features. Humanity was an enigma, something Lucifer always found so incredibly fascinating, written into his character by God's design. Humans were so unique, flawed, beautiful. And as God's very first human, Adam was humanity incarnate. "You're spectacular, Adam." Hearing his name spoken aloud snapped Adam back into reality immediately, waking him up. Sighing, he rolled to his back again so he could get some space, causing Lucifer to pull his hand back. "Did- did I say something wrong? I do that sometimes… I'm sorry…"

Consumed in thought, Adam studied the ceiling in silence, face burning red from a tangle of emotions he was having a great deal of difficulty processing. Countless thoughts crossed his mind, and he struggled to come to terms with the decisions he made before they fucked, when he was super horny and irrational. How could he allow Lucifer, of all people, to fuck him? Why did he want that so badly? Did he actually still have feelings for Lucifer, like the ones he had in Eden? How could he so easily disregard everything Lucifer had done to him? Was this just a power-grab so Lucifer could hold it against him later? How could something that made him feel so disgusting and disgraceful also make him feel so fucking good?

"Don't mention this- us- to anyone else. I'm serious, okay?" Even though the quality of the sex was far beyond their wildest dreams, it wasn't enough to smudge out Adam's fragile ego. He folded his arms across his chest, eyes still fixated on the ceiling designs above them, and the mood shifted from loving, tender happiness to weird, awkward stress. The words stung, but Lucifer didn't react negatively because he wanted to keep Adam with him in their little delusional, perfect paradise, away from the outside world's cruelty. Lucifer knew he'd never step foot in Heaven again, but this- this felt awfully close. He wished he could stay in bed with Adam like this forever.

"Shhh, just relax… I already promised you that I wouldn't. Don't act so cold, handsome…" Lucifer's voice was still warm and sweet like honey, causing Adam to turn his head to look at him. The Sin of Pride's expression softened when their gaze met again, but Adam frowned and averted his eyes. Even though they shared the same bed, he couldn't help but feel their unpleasant past in the back of his mind.

"Good," Adam pursed his lips while he and Lucifer looked at eachother quietly. His frown deepened. "I also want you to know, that just because we uh… we fucked…" he blushed yet again and had to pause to recollect his thoughts. "Just because we did that- It doesn't make what you did to me alright."

"I know that," Lucifer looked away, feeling terrible for his mistakes all those lifetimes ago. He decided to change the topic, wanting to keep Adam happy. "You know, I think that mac and cheese you asked for last night is in the fridge. Maybe we can just-"

"Yes!" The interjection was quick and decisive, Adam instantly realizing how hungry he was for dinner, he was more than eager to get something to eat. The leftover mac and cheese would be perfect. "That sounds… awesome," Adam turned into Lucifer just a bit, excited by the proposition of dinner. "Last night I was so fucking tired I just passed out. I was wondering what happened to it."

"Done," Lucifer nodded and snapped his fingers. Adam just stared at him like he was crazy.

"Uh, what the hell was that supposed to do?"

"I'm the King of Hell, Adam. It did exactly what you think it did." He stared at Lucifer with a perplexed expression, then shrugged and closed his eyes. Only a couple minutes later there was a knock on the door. Hopping up out of bed, Lucifer strolled across the room completely naked. Unable to help himself, Adam turned to watch him in the light, admiring the way he moved. Lucifer stretched up nice and tall, pulled his gray sweatpants back on from the ground, then strolled over to the door. Quickly, Adam pulled the covers over his body and lied still to try to hide, wanting to prevent any possibility of an imp seeing him in Lucifer's bed. Just barely cracking the door, Lucifer smiled and graciously thanked the imp that brought him the food.

"Oh, this looks fantastic, Art. Thank you so much for bringing this up so quickly," on the cart sat a baking dish full of steaming macaroni and cheese with a beautiful brown crust, along with a single bowl and fork.

"Of course, your Highness," Adam turned beet red and held as still as he possibly could, praying that Lucifer wouldn't give him away. It was easy to recognize the voice, as he'd just met this imp earlier that morning. The tone in Art's voice was curious, but calm. "Do you think your guest would be interested in any food? He asked for this dish specifically last night, and it's been a while since I saw him at breakfast."

"Oh, I appreciate your concern. Adam is fine. I brought him some food an hour or so ago, but now he's resting in his room. I think he's just a bit lagged from the past few days' events, but he's healing up well. I'll absolutely call if I need anything for him."

"Also- and pardon me- but this is a lot of food, Sir. Are you sure you want the entire dish? I don't mean to question you, but you don't usually have even a fraction of this amount of-"

"I know, I know," he brushed it off, smiling. "I'm starved." He pulled the cart into the room and Art frowned, scratching his head.

"Well- okay. I'll be around if you need anything-" he sighed as Lucifer smiled goofily and shut the door in his face abruptly. As Art walked away, he knew damn well that the King was hiding his guest in his bedroom, shaking his head as he headed back down the hall to continue with his other chores for the evening. Back inside the room, Lucifer's eyes momentarily glowed red, and without a single ounce of remorse, erased Art's memory of the interaction. Art stopped short in the hallway, eyes turning the same shade of red for just a moment as the past few minutes of his life were removed from his mind. He wouldn't even remember Lucifer asking for the dish. After the memory vanished, their eyes returned to normal, and Art was still for a moment, trying to regain his train of thought. Standing without direction, he was only able to move on with his day after he remembered he needed to tend to the garden. Lucifer pushed the cart over towards the bed and Adam sat back up, coming out of the covers once the door shut. Basically drooling, he scooted to the edge of the bed with anticipation.

"Holy shit that looks so good… Do you think he knew I was in here?"

"Oh, he definitely knew," he said with an unusual smile on his face. It was just off-putting enough to indicate that he'd done something sneaky. "I just took care of him." Naturally, Adam looked at him like he was insane, eyes wide with his brow furrowed and his head cocked to the side.

"I'm sorry, you fucking did what?! He was so nice!" Basically yelling, he was extremely panicked.

"Oh- I took care of it, not him," Lucifer said calmly, laughing. "Oof, that did sound pretty bad, didn't it? I just removed those past few seconds in his mind. Doesn't hurt." He spooned two large scoops of the mac and cheese into the bowl and took it and the fork for himself, then pushed the cart with the dish and serving spoon up to the bed. "Here you are. Have at it."

"Jesus- I thought you fucking killed the guy," he put his hand over his heart, relieved. "Regardless, that's fuckin scary. You goin' around erasing people's memories often?" Adam immediately took a serving spoon full of his dinner and shoveled it into his mouth, then smiled and groaned as his face twisted in pleasure in delighted surprise- looking eerily similar to his face when he orgasmed earlier. It was delicious. Lucifer stifled a laugh as Adam went back for more with extra enthusiasm, if that were even possible.

"Of course not. I made a promise to you, I intend to keep it. No one will know about what we did, so long as you wish it to be that way. Even at the cost of a few minutes of someone's memory." Eating daintily out of the bowl, Lucifer hopped back into the bed and sat next to Adam criss-crossed, also enjoying the meal. At one point, he just stared blankly in front of him while all of their previous activities replayed in his mind, over and over again. Adam moved his arm behind Lucifer and hooked his hand around his waist, still eating with his other hand but pulling him near. Absolutely gushing at the hand placement and Adam's mindless desire to hold him, Lucifer lifted the bowl to his face to hide his red face and continued to eat; for the second time that day, he felt like he could potentially be falling in love.

Without hesitation, Adam quickly worked to clean out the baking dish while simultaneously holding Lucifer near, the pair enjoying the taste of a little domestic bliss. It had been so long since Lucifer could remember sharing a gentle moment like this with someone, just sitting on a bed having dinner together like a happy couple. He knew though that they weren't a couple, and that there was no way they ever could be. It wasn't just that Adam would never allow them to be- the entire realm of Hell would be in uproar if they found out their King was willing fucking the leader of the Excorists. The same man who slaughtered so many of his own people, that he did nothing to stop up until a few days ago when his daughter decided she'd had enough. Lucifer willingly blocked that realization out of his mind and looked at Adam. They did have a lot of shit to sort through. For now though, it didn't hurt to just pretend everything was okay. Once he got very close to finishing the pan of mac and cheese, Adam sat back and burped loudly and rested his free hand on his stomach, so full he felt like he could burst. Lucifer looked up to him and grinned, wiping some cheese sauce from the corner of his mouth with his thumb. Staring back down with a half-smile, Adam sighed and shook his head.

"You're pretty powerful, aren't you? Shapeshifting, memory voodoo, strength… what else can you do? How did you get so powerful?" Moving back under the covers, he looked over expectantly. "I really thought I could take you down."

"Oh, yes, I know. You did put up a good fight but… Adam, I don't really want to talk about the fight," he fidgeted with his fork, playing with the last few noodles in his bowl, avoiding eye contact. "I didn't like fighting you. As for my powers, my power comes from sin on earth, and I'm pretty powerful because humanity is really, really not good. Of course there are varying degrees of sin, but overall humans are just awful. If, by some miracle, humans stopped sinning altogether- I might lose my power, I might cease to exist. I'm not sure. But I don't worry about that, because I feel more powerful than ever. Humanity gets worse and worse with every single day that passes," he sighed deeply as Adam watched with a frown. "It's a heavy weight to carry, knowing I am who I am because of terrible, awful things people do."

"Oh, I uh… I didn't know that. Sorry, that sucks," Adam pursed his lips, feeling very strange to hear out loud that all the people who came after him were really, really bad. Of course he himself was flawed- after all, he did end up in Hell too. Adam then turned on his side to face Lucifer. "Your powers are still cool though. For being so small, you can be pretty fucking scary. Nobody messes with you, huh?"

"Heh, no, not really," he smiled sheepishly and tucked some hair behind his ears. I don't have to be small if I don't want to be, it's just the way God made me, and I'm used to it. It's funny cause He made all the other angels tall- I was clearly the shortest. It'd feel weird walking around all day making myself look big, and I think others would catch on. I'm very proud of who I am, and I like my size," he pulled his knees up to his chest and rested his head on them, still looking at Adam.

"Huh. Yeah, I remember noticing how short you were when we first met," Adam commented, and Lucifer rolled his eyes but still smiled.

"That was one of my favorite days of my life so far. Meeting the very first man on my first day on the field. I was so excited, and you far exceeded all my expectations. I was so intrigued by you," Adam blushed and chuckled, basking in his kindness.

"Yeah, you really were. But what can I say? I'm fuckin awesome. No wonder you had the hots for me."

"Yeah, yeah. I guess I do like you," Lucifer pulled off his pants, and got back under the covers. Searching his mind, he thought through all of his favorite days. "And then there's Charlie's birth of course. I changed forever that day- she really is the best thing I ever created." This comment earned a genuine smile from Adam, who reached out and rubbed Lucifer's shoulder as a sort of affirmation. "Oh, and I can't forget Lily and I's wedding day," the happiness on his face faded while his eyes trailed over to fixate on the ring on the table. Adam quickly crossed his arms, frustrated that she kept coming up in their conversations, breaking Lucifer's heart over and over again.

"Ugh. I don't understand why, but I feel fucking sorry for you. I shouldn't, but I do. Lilith always rubbed me the wrong way. I couldn't ever get it right. She was just so unhappy with me all the time, for no reason. And I tried so hard to do what she wanted, to make her happy- it was useless. She just gave off bad vibes. And then she met you and… and she smiled. I couldn't make her smile. Your relationship was doomed from the start- she isn't someone who can ever be satisfied. She was always going to leave you behind. You were just too infatuated with the idea of her to see that."

"Hey, that's not true…" Lucifer spoke, caught off guard by the stark change in the mood. The lighthearted conversation turned heavy so fast- Lucifer clearly hit a sore spot bringing her up. "When it was good, it was really good… I know she doesn't love me anymore, we definitely were in love."

"Oh, so glad to hear that," Adam crossed his arms and snorted, really unhappy with his reply. "I'm not sure if you fucking forgot this, but she's my ex-wife. We couldn't stand each other. She didn't listen to me, didn't respect me, was never happy to see me… Gah- she was terrible. And then one day I saw you with her, from a distance." Going cold, Adam felt his anger rising back within him, chest hurting with the memory of their betrayal. "And I stood behind a tree to listen. I heard you laugh with her, and saw how she flirted with you. I saw her touch you and how you just- you looked at her like you looked at me, when I touched you. When we were the only two people in the Garden. And neither of you even bothered to try to talk to me about it."

"Adam, hold on, it's not-" Lucifer held the covers to his chest and looked at his friend in horror, unsure of what he was supposed to say. He was quickly relieved when Adam continued, taking the pressure to speak off for a little while longer.

"After all this time, even after showing you her true colors the day she stole you from me-" he paused immediately and backtracked, "No, the day you stole her from me- and again by leaving your ass all alone here in the Godforsaken place, she still has you fucked up in the head. You still love her. Hell, you still wear that wedding ring around. It's ridiculous. If she came back tomorrow, you'd take her back and kick me out. Shut the fuckin door in my face." Rubbing his arm sadly, he turned to sit up, glaring at him. "So what's the real reason you wanted to fuck then? You were horny and lonely after being deprived for seven years, and I was an easy target? To check my name off your list of people you want to fuck? Use it against me as blackmail?" Adam's gruff voice was raspy, voice trying but failing to conceal his anger. His eyes started to glow red and Lucifer leaned back, creating some distance, preparing for the unexpected.

"I- I- um…" he spoke very softly, a wave of anxiety and dread slowly drowning him as Adam expressed his resentment. He couldn't find the right words to explain his feelings for Lilith, and the questioning felt unnecessarily cruel. So instead, Lucifer felt compelled to try to make everything alright between him and Adam, and began to apologize profusely. "I'm fucking sorry, okay?! I'm so sorry Adam. I'm sorry for everything I ever did to you, especially for leaving so much unsaid. I was told to stay away from you after our night together, I broke the rules… and I made assumptions about how you felt instead of just asking you myself. You had Eve, I thought you were happy, I thought you didn't want me anymore since God made her for you! And I'm sorry for offering Eve that fucking fruit," his volume increased as he spilled everything at the top of his mind, very visibly upset but also somewhat mad. He ran his hand through his hair, staring away into oblivion, clearly struggling while having to rehash their issues. Adam stared at him with wide eyes that had already stopped glowing, finally gathering pieces of Lucifer's side of the story, really helping paint a clearer picture of what happened. "And when I gave her the apple, I thought I was helping! I wanted to give her knowledge and free will… I knew it would get me into trouble, but I didn't know just how severe the punishment would be. I didn't know that God would punish you, Lilith, and Eve too- it was all my idea, it was all my fault. I know- I know how fucked up it all was. I was young and stupid. And then Heaven banished all of us, and cast Lily and I down to Hell. I never got another chance to talk with you," his red cheeks were stained with tears as he began to cry, feeling the heat from the shame and regret in his face. Those days were the worst of his life. The same large, gentle hand that pulled him so close earlier pressed into his mouth without any force, effectively shutting it.

"Stop. Please, just… stop. I need to leave," While he spoke, he turned away from Lucifer fully, swinging his legs over the side of the bed, getting ready to go. He stood and took a single step to collect his robes, and without a second's delay, Lucifer scrambled to sit up and reached out, grasping Adam's hand desperately and tightening his grip. Under no circumstances would he let Adam leave for a second night in a row, especially not after their passionate encounter. They couldn't just go off on their own without trying to resolve even a small piece of their gigantic tangled mess.

"Please… Adam, please. I'm begging you- Stay here, with me, just for tonight. We can keep talking, we can have dessert, we can sleep- anything you want. Just please stay with me," his voice cracked halfway through, proving how seriously distressed he was at the idea of being left by himself. The panic in his tone made it very apparent that there was no wickedness, no malice, no ulterior motives behind Lucifer's decisions, both in the past and present. The grip of his hand felt heavy, but the sadness in his plea was heavier.

Surprised and alarmed by the desperation in his tone, Adam let out a very slow, deep sigh, then slowly got back into the bed and rested his head on the pillow again. Lucifer sat upright beside him in silence for a couple minutes, immensely relieved, working hard to regain his composure. There was no way he could handle being left alone with his thoughts again, especially not after their discussion, and he was pretty sure Adam knew that after seeing him cry earlier. Thus, why he chose to stay. He wiped his eyes with his arm, narrowly avoiding a serious meltdown.

Without another word, Adam had a change of heart and reached over to push some blonde hair out of Lucifer's face, tucking it behind his ear. He still appeared to be upset, but he couldn't get the image of his first friend as an angel, fully innocent and sweet, out of his mind. The memory of them in Eden, that feeling, was something he'd been chasing for so long, he figured he'd have to find a way to forgive Lucifer if he wanted to feel that way. After all, this devil in front of him was the same angel that changed his entire life, in both the best and worst ways. His soft touch under the chin guided Lucifer to lay back down next to him, and that was exactly what he did, graciously accepting the invitation to be close again. There was not a bone in Adam's body that wanted to keep going through the past any further- he just wanted to sleep.

"We can talk more tomorrow. I'm really tired." With a soft grunt, Adam rolled onto his side to face his bedmate, and wrapped his arm around Lucifer's small waist, pulling him near. Feeling a bit of whiplash from the back and forth, Lucifer shyly nestled in and found a cozy position. Adam's solid brown wing draped over them both, providing an extra layer to their embrace. Despite being angry, frustrated, confused, ashamed- he too was unbearably lonely for an embarrassingly long time- and all he wanted in this moment was this closeness. He knew Lucifer did too, so he acted on his desire.

Post-coitus cuddling was one of his favorite activities, but most of his lays in Heaven were quick to rush him out the door. It felt really good to be asked to stay, to feel wanted, to be needed. Especially by someone that he liked so much so long ago. As their foreheads pressed together and they shared the same breath, Lucifer tilted his chin up and stole a small kiss from Adam's lips as a token of thanks for sticking by him, even when it was difficult. When Adam kissed back tenderly and sleepily and ran his hand along his back, Lucifer felt both his heart soar. Maybe there was still a chance to repair the damage between them. Scooting back down and curling up into Adam's large frame, Lucifer felt at home in the arms of the very first person who held him. Mostly unconscious, Adam whispered, "Luci…"

"I won't hurt you again, Adam," Lucifer spoke under his breath, pressing his forehead into the crevice in Adam's chest right under his pecs but above his stomach. Listening as Adam's breathing went from steady and quick to slow and rhythmic, Lucifer felt his heartbeat against his head and frowned as his mind wandered. He had no idea that he'd already broken that heart once long ago. It had been haphazardly glued back together, but it clearly still hurt very much. All he wanted was to gently take it apart and put all the pieces back into place the right way. A curious hand traced his lover's outline as he slept, truly cherishing him, feeling so lucky that Adam literally fell back into his life, after everything. It had to be for a reason. Not long after counting Adam's heartbeats, Lucifer fell asleep, tightly enveloped in a sweet embrace.
