Of the infinite, there are three kinds:
Lost ones, they are lost in infinity
And useless.
Ones that create, they were our gods
They were finited.
Ones that destroy, they were banished.
But The One Infinite is still.

Life can be repetitive at times. Waking up and doing the same thing every day can be tiring. Some people keep things the same to maintain safety, while others break the cycle to bring about change. Change can be both good and bad, sometimes even simultaneously.
Many millennia ago, the Chief God's chosen hero, Adam, had joined forces with a Succubus named Lilith. Together, they overthrew the reigning demon lord, seeking to eliminate the bloodthirsty nature of monsterkind, unite their species, and end the endless cycle of killing.
Their efforts had been partially successful, with Lilith now seated on the demon lord's throne.
In her castle, Lilith waited for her husband, her face resting on her hand. Although her eyes were closed, she sensed the presence of an uninvited guest.
"Care to explain why you're here?" Lilith asked, opening her eyes to see the Chief God standing across from her. "Have you come to lose again? You know you don't have the power to defeat us," she said with a bored voice. The Chief God remained silent, a small smile creeping across her face before uttering, "Mordekai the Summoner is dead."
Lilith's expression shifted from boredom to shock in an instant. "What?" she exclaimed. Mordekai the Summoner, one of the most powerful sorcerers in the entire universe, had been killed.
"How did this happen?" Lilith asked, rising from her throne.
"He was killed half an hour ago by a human. The same one who vanquished the mighty Ugh-Zan III over two thousand years ago," the Chief God revealed confidently. Lilith narrowed her eyes. "Do you take me for a fool? Do you expect me to believe that a human, the same one who defeated The Vicious Warlock, could have done this? I think you're lying!"
"I am a god, Lilith. I cannot tell lies," the Chief God retorted. "Not only has he slain two of Tah-Um's finest, but he also dares to challenge Tah-Um itself."
"This is preposterous! Tah-Um surpasses both you and me!" Lilith exclaimed.
"But it's true! And now, I have brought him to this world," the Chief God pointed a finger at Lilith, "to kill you."
Lilith fell silent, overcome with shock. All the previous heroes sent by the Chief God and the order had eventually succumbed to the allure of the Mamono and strayed from their mission. But the idea of a being powerful enough to challenge Tah-Um being sent to eliminate her? She couldn't deny feeling a hint of unease.
"What are you doing here?" a stern male voice demanded. The two enemies turned their heads to see Lilith's husband standing in the doorway, glaring at the Chief God.
"Adam," the Chief God greeted. "Well, I must leave now. I have a hero to watch over. Farewell, Lilith, Adam." In a flash of bright light, the Chief God vanished, leaving a speechless Lilith and a bewildered Adam behind.
"Why was she here?" Adam questioned, pointing to the spot where the Chief God had stood. "And who is Tah-Um?"
Lilith slowly turned to face her husband. "Take a seat, my dear husband. It's time I told you the story of The One Infinite."
I was an explorer once, Captain Sam Stone of the Surveyor. It Was good. Hell, it was awesome.
Then I awakened him, The Notorious Mental. And because of me, my world, my race paid the price. Mental's wiped out all of humanity, except for me, and destroyed our world. Now, thanks to time travel, it's up to me to save my world.
Right now, I find myself floating through darkness, lost in my thoughts. It gives me time to reflect on my journey so far. I've experienced a lot—traveling through ancient Egypt, Mesoamerica, Mesopotamia, and finally medieval Europe. All in different time periods, mind you. I can confidently say it's been one hell of a ride.
But my journey is far from over. Not until Mental breathes his last breath by my hand. Everything I'm doing, every task I'm undertaking, is to get help in the fight against him.
Gradually, my senses return. I feel a pleasant breeze gently caressing me, and beneath me, I sense the softness of grass. It feels oddly comforting. I open my eyes and find myself in a grassy field, the sun setting on the horizon. "Looks a lot like Earth," I mutter. And it's true. I have all my weapons with me, a good sign. God knows how many times I've lost them while travelling to different places. I rise to my feet and survey my surroundings. I'm in the middle of nowhere, on an unfamiliar planet teeming with monsters, with no idea where to go, and night swiftly approaching. Just my damn luck!
"Well, we've arrived. I don't understand why you didn't go to planet Sirius. Especially since you don't really need assistance. Oh well, let's get this over with. It's strange; I have no data on this world. Nothing! It's as if it never existed. Could you do me a favor and locate the nearest civilization? Perhaps the locals can provide some insights into the history of this world. It might help us." NETRICSA suggests.
With that, I stand up and start walking. Finding civilization and gathering information is my first course of action. It's a starting point, at the very least.
As the minutes pass, darkness engulfs the surroundings, and I find myself making no progress. I've left the field behind and now tread upon a dirt road flanked by woods on both sides.
While walking, I can't shake the feeling of being watched. Something doesn't feel right. Since I set foot on the road, I've had this constant sensation of being observed. I take out my two Schofield .45 Revolvers, preparing myself for a potential confrontation.
"Show yourself! I know you're out there," I call out. But out of all the things I expected to emerge from the woods, four scantily clad women were not among them. And their bosoms, I've never seen anything like them.
Oh, and they carried weapons too. One detail that catches my attention is their pig ears.
"Well, well, well. Look at what we have here. A man—"
"—a handsome and muscular one at that—"
"—all by his lonesome—"
"—and far from home, it seems."
Why do I feel like I'm in danger?
I keep my revolvers trained on them. There's no way in hell I'm letting my guard down now. One of them stops a few inches from me and licks her lips. "Come with us back to our camp. You can join us, and we can have endless pleasure all night long!" she purrs in a seductive voice.
Excuse me, what?
I haven't even been in this world for an hour, and already one of them is offering me... well, you get the idea.
"Tempting, but I think I'll pass," I tell them. All four of them giggle before brandishing their weapons. The one in front charges at me, her weapon raised high. I aim one of my revolvers at her and—
Bang!
She falls backward, lifeless. The other three don't take it so well, but I can't help but smirk at their reactions.
"Give a man a bullet, and he'll want a gun. Give a man a gun, and he'll be giving away the bullets," I quip.
I take aim and unload four bullets, dispatching two more of them. It's not much of a challenge, to be honest. The remaining pig girl(?) retreats, fear etched across her face.
"Tell me where the nearest town or city is, and I might spare your life," I demand.
"I-if you go north, you'll find Lescatie ten miles from here," she stammers in a shaky voice. "Much appreciated," I reply, training my revolver on her.
"Wait! You said you'd spare me!" she pleads.
"I said I might," I reminded her before shooting her point-blank in the head. Well, that was quick. Lescatie, huh? It's a start, at least.
This world is in for one hell of a rude awakening.
Adam covers his mouth with one hand, horror etched on his face as he listens to the story. Lilith holds his other hand, offering comfort and support. The things he's just been told... It's too much to process. The existence of Tah-Um and the danger this human poses. Adam can feel the weight of the situation pressing down upon him.
"Now you understand why I'm worried—for our sake, for our cause," Lilith says to her husband. He nods, his expression grave. "If this human truly exists, he could jeopardize everything."
Adam is determined to protect his family and everything they've built together. He knows he must ensure that this person sent by the Chief God does not bring harm to them.
This he swore.
Authors note: And that wraps up the first chapter. Forgive me if not much happened. I'm trying my best not to rush things too much.
Also, sorry for the long wait. Would you be surprised if I told you I never expected this book to get so much attention with just one prologue?
If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will answer them to the best of my abilities.
JaphetSkie: "Huh, a Serious Sam fanfic... You don't see that everyday.
Does he have Serious Bombs in spare, though?"
Continue reading to find out. ;)
Dreadphoenix: "Praise Lord Tah-Um!"
I don't think sam would be too happy to hear that
Billthesomething: "For your first fanfic, this is some pretty good shit. I assume that you intend for the next chapters to be longer seeing as this is just an introductory exposition correct?"
Chapter lengths may vary. I'm not making any promises.
whatsupman: "Cool that we get a serious sam story, however the chief god ripping sam from earth? Arent that 2 different planets? I dont like her already.
I really hope that let sam be his usual self, that man wiped out entire armies of otherworldy beings by himself so this should be manageable."
In fairness, the chief god offered Sam help which he accepted. Had he said no, she would've let Sam continue with his journey. And don't worry. You won't see Sam do anything too out of character.
