Chapter 2: Introductions
Harry felt himself waking, his head pounded and something bound his hands behind his back. He groaned slightly unable to prevent himself from making the noise as he tried to assess his current situation. He could hear movement around him and knew that they were aware that he was awake, he opened his eyes only to see Blackness, feeling a fabric against his skin he frowned as he realised that they had stuck a bag over his head to keep everything hidden from him.
He shifted his weight, pushing himself up into a sitting position as he listened to what was going on around him, he could hear voice a bit further away from him but not what they were saying, all around him he could hear the sound of engines and realised that they were in an airplane of some description, guessing from who he was caught by, it was most likely a Military aircraft of some description. His head hurt from whatever that attack that knocked him senseless was and all he could taste was no doubt what he had thrown up. He groaned again trying to shift himself into a more comfortable position but found moving tricky, a slight jingle of metal showed that his hands were bound to something by a metal chain. More movement closer to him and he felt a hand on his head gripping the bag. And bits of his hair.
The hand pulled the bag off, Harry wincing as several strands of hair were plucked out along with it. He blinked as light assaulted his vision, nothing dramatic just the lights of the aircraft. Harry shook his head to clear his head and focus around him but only made his headache hurt even more. "I was wondering when you were going to wake up." The British voice, the leader of FOXHOUND. Harry's head was hurting, his thoughts scattered he couldn't remember the name.
"You're gonna have to refresh my memory on who you are." Harry muttered his words slightly slurred. "Your psychic friend really messed me up." Harry spoke as he focused on the blonde man in front of him.
"You were too much of a flight risk, we were there to take you down after all." Liquid spoke and Harry managed a half smile.
"So the recruitment was a lie then?" Harry asked and Liquid shook his head slightly.
"Our original mission was to eliminate the threat that you possessed." Liquid spoke and Harry raised an eyebrow.
"The threat I possessed? What threat would that be? I haven't actively been hostile to anyone." Harry commented already having a gut feeling where this was going.
"While true, the damage that has followed you around led us to being sent to take you down." Liquid explained and Harry mentally cringed, it was true, wherever he went he was constantly harassed by Bounty Hunters that seemed to just crawl out of the woodwork of whatever location he was in and it wasn't always official bounty hunters that tried to collect the bounty that had been put on his head, people from all runs of life had attempted to claim the bounty at one point or another which had resulted in a lot of collateral damage and a few deaths.
"Still I'm surprised an official Military Organisation was sent after me." Harry commented and Liquid smirked.
"Officially we weren't." Liquid replied and Harry frowned in confusion. "We were told about you and it was suggested we remove you." Liquid continued and Harry still confused but nodded. "You have Ocelot to thank for still being alive, he figured it would be better to recruit someone with your talents." Liquid explained before chuckling slightly, "although after your trick with the wand, I'm sure he's reconsidered." Liquid said and Harry let out a small laugh of amusement.
"I was curious as to who you guys were, you were better than any of the others that came after me, I don't take life if I can avoid it." Harry explained and Liquid nodded his head.
"And admirable goal, I'm sure." He spoke trying to sound sincere but Harry highly doubted there was any legitimacy behind it.
"So why recruit me?" Harry questioned and Liquid smirked.
"Would you like the actual reason or the flowery one that plays to your ego?" Liquid questioned knowing that Harry already had a hunch as to why he would be recruited. He was an observant person and understood the nature of those he was dealing with.
"As much as I like having my ego stroked, you're not my type." Harry joked and Liquid couldn't help but snicker slightly in amusement. "So Mr FOXHOUND, what is the real reason?"
"You're more useful alive than dead." Liquid said bluntly and Harry blinked.
"Huh… that was a lot more blunt than I expected." Harry mused as he shifted slightly hearing the metal of chains again. "Any chance of you removing these?" Harry questioned and Liquid nodded his head.
"They were an initial safety precaution more than anything else, didn't want you blowing a hole in the aircraft when you woke up." Liquid said and Harry nodded at the safety precaution as unnecessary as it was.
"And the bag?"
"Your protection more than anything else, you have quite a unique appearance, We didn't want any bounty hunters getting wind of you being caught, they would have failed to get you while we were transporting you." Liquid explained and Harry again found himself nodding, he seemed to be doing that a lot he thought as he continued to listen to Liquid as the man stood up stepping over to Harry and undoing his restraints.
"So I'm more useful to you alive than I am dead?" Harry questioned as he rubbed his wrists working on getting full circulation back and dealing with the numbness he was feeling.
"Alive, you're a uniquely talented person with a unique perspective on things given your talents." He said knowingly referencing the magic, "dead you're just another body and from what I've heard, there are thousands of them." Liquid commented and Harry picked up the not so subtle reference to his people, the magical world and a memory kicked to the forefront.
Weasley Wizarding Wheezes, the sign still hung in its bright and eye catching colours above the store, like everywhere else, it currently showed no signs of life. Harry pushed open the door, a creaking followed by the chime of the bell above the door going off as he entered, surprised that there had been no minor prank spells set on the door to catch people of guard. Though pranking the customers the moment they entered probably wasn't the best of marketing strategies out there. There was blood stains on the floor trailing towards the back, Harry followed after them slowly, wand in hand as he stepped towards the back door, a bloody hand print on it.
"No!" Harry suddenly said sharply shaking his head and surprising Liquid who had watched the man space out for a moment.
"You back with us?" He questioned and Harry sighed leaning forwards rubbing his eyes.
"Yeah, I'm with you, just your words dug up a memory I wanted to forget." Harry explained and Liquid nodded standing up. Harry grimaced as he stood up, his head spinning slightly and Liquid grabbed his arm as he staggered slightly. "I'm good, like I said your psychic friend really did a number on me." Harry explained and Liquid let go walking ahead of him, Harry grimaced, following after him slowly, his body feeling stiff. 'Out of all the memories, he dragged that one up and made me relive it. one time suffering that curse was bad enough.' Harry thought as he followed Liquid through a doorway.
"Sleeping Beauty has awoken." Liquid said loudly as he walked in and Harry bit back a growl of annoyance as he followed, hand resting on the doorframe as he looked at the area of the plane he was in. It definitely showed that FOXHOUND had access to a big budget, the area was a stark contrast to the bland and uncomfortable area that he had woken up in, hell it looked like it belonged in a completely different plane. Where before he had been in a barren room with nothing but the wooden benches that he had woken up on and the small windows that showed that he was in an airplane, this room was more comforting, a carpet, thick comfy chairs, a bar and a TV as well as several other odds and ends that Harry guessed the members of FOXHOUND had brought with them.
"Not the introduction I was expecting." Harry said and Liquid laughed as he walked over to the bar and turned around to look at Harry as he leant against it.
"My apologies." He spoke in a sarcasm filled grand voice. "Ladies, Gentlemen, Bovine." He added glancing at the Ocelot who glared at him, continuing to spin the SAA around in a display of skill that quite honestly amazed Harry. "Allow me to introduce to you the man of many, many titles, mainly all focused on the same thing, The Boy Who Lived, The Boy Who Won't Stay Dead, God Damn Someone Kill This Guy, The Man with the Billion Dollar Bounty and probably a handful of other titles that are far less amusing." Liquid said smirking as Harry stared at him willing for him to get on with it. "Harry Potter." He finished and Harry shook his head giving him a sarcastic clap.
"You know only one of those was a title I was dubbed with." Harry continued and Liquid shrugged.
"Anyway introductions are in order. Ocelot let him know who you are." Liquid ordered with a half hearted hand gesture.
"As you wish Boss." The man spoke the gruff voice a stark contrast to Liquid's. "I shall start with myself then, I am FOXHOUNDs Interrogation Expert Revolver Ocelot." He introduced, the Colt in his hands be holstered almost on cue as he finished introducing himself.
"You're the one who shot my cloak," Harry said and Ocelot smirked.
"That's a good piece of gear you have," Ocelot complimented and Harry nodded his head.
"Going to be slightly less effective with two holes in it." Harry responded and Ocelot laughed.
"You can have all the tools in the world, it doesn't matter if you're just that one second slower than your opponent." He retorted and Harry smirked.
"Of course, the cloak prevented them from even knowing I was there negating the speed problem." Harry replied and Ocelot just reached up and tapped his ear with his right hand.
"There is more than one way to find an invisible enemy." Ocelot explained and Harry shrugged.
"Regardless, I'm assuming you grabbed my cloak after knocking me out." Harry questioned and Ocelot gestured with his head to a familiar looking chest by the back wall of the room. "I'm guessing you broke into the room I was staying in then." Harry mused and Ocelot laughed.
"Do we look like common thieves to you boy?" Ocelot asked and Harry bristled slightly at the 'boy' comment but let it slide. He was done with the Dursleys he couldn't let the past engulf his future, at least not the unimportant parts. "Our Master of Infiltration dealt with that personally." Ocelot explained and Harry raised an eyebrow.
"It was actually quite easy to get a spare key." A voice spoke behind Harry and he stiffened slowly turning around. The person who had spoken was directly behind him and looked identical to him in every way. "Decoy Ocotpus, Infiltration Expert for FOXHOUND." The doppleganger said calmly and Harry studied him opening his mouth to say something then pausing closing it again. "Hey I thought you said this guy was intelligent." Octopus commented and Harry glared as he heard his own voice insulting him.
"Actually I was a bit surprised that you can pull this off to such a degree. How?" Harry asked and Octopus smiled.
"Trade secret I'm afraid." He responded stepping round Harry and into the room before walking across and out the other side.
"You'll have to forgive Octopus, he's not a sociable one." Ocelot commented before gesturing to another person who sat to the side his chair facing away from Harry, the wizard could see the back of his head and the straps of the gas mask on his head, the man wasn't even paying Harry any attention as he studied him, seeing the barcode tattoo on his arm and wondered briefly why he was wearing the Gas mask. "This is Psycho Mantis, our Psychic specialist, You've already had the pleasure of dealing with him, even if it wasn't in person." Ocelot taunted and Harry threw a glare at him.
"Still bitter about the little joke?" Harry questioned and Ocelot lost his smile for a moment.
"Heh, you're going to fit in quite well." Ocelot responded smirking again. "Well Mantis, going to pretend to be sociable at least once?" Ocelot joked and the masked man turned his head slightly, Harry catching a glance of scarring in between the straps on his mask.
"Oh I already know all I need to about our new guest." Mantis spoke the voice raspy through the gas mask. "You have an interesting mind Mr Potter." He spoke calmly, "You enjoy reading, it is one of the few escapes left for you to take advantage of, you barely sleep because of the night terrors that you suffer from caused by the almost magical disappearance of your people." Mantis spoke and Harry stood stock still as he spoke his hands clenched into a tight fist, his knuckles slowly turning white. "And you are one of the few people I have met that can hinder my ability to read your mind, that was an interesting memory you made me experience." He said in bemusement.
"The Cruciatus Curse, every single nerve in your body flaring to life sending pain throughout your body, you only had a brief exposure to it, a few seconds as a warning." Harry responded and Mantis nodded his head slightly.
"Yes, the headache did take a while to go." Mantis commented chuckling slightly. "I hope you like my little gift in return." He asked and Harry grimaced.
"I could have done without that," he muttered calming himself down flexing his fingers slightly having now realised just how tense Mantis had made him.
"Glad to see we're all going to get along just fine." Liquid commented sarcastically placing his drink down that he had been making.
"Next we have FOXHOUNDS Mystic, Shaman and Heavy Weapons Expert, I don't know if you saw him in the little skirmish," Ocelot said with a gesture to a man that was as tall and muscular as Harry's hair was messy. Harry was stunned, other than Hagrid who was half giant, this was the biggest man that he had seen and from what he could tell the guy was pure muscle. The man stood up and stepped over to him and Harry felt tiny in comparison to him as he looked at the man, seeing the blue raven tattoo on his head.
"Oh, wow… you're fantastically big." Harry said meekly out of surprise causing the man to laugh as he held out a hand.
"It is good to meet you Mr Potter, I shall be interested to see how you progress." He said neutrally to Harry who took the offered hand. The guy had a strong grip and Harry found himself wincing slightly as he shook the guys hand. It wasn't that he was weak just the guy was really strong. The man stepped back turning and moving back to the chair which he had been sitting on, leaving Harry standing there flexing his fingers ever so slightly.
"And I suppose that brings us to the last member that you haven't officially met." Otacon spoke as the Sniper that had taken shots at Harry stood up walking towards him. "Our Sniper, the best one alive today, Sniper Wolf." He said and Harry watched her as she walked towards him, her eyes studying him like the creature she was named after studying it's prey. The back of his mind also made the comparison of a Cat stalking a mouse, about to pounce on its prey.
"You are the first." She said and Harry tilted his head slightly looking at her in confusion.
"Excuse me?" Harry managed to stutter out as she lifted a hand and placed it on his cheek.
"You are my first target that I have not killed." She said softly and Harry felt his eyes widen, "I won't forget this, or you." She said slowly a smirk on her lips before she turned away leaving a stunned Harry.
"And that's all the introductions." Ocelot said casually. "You'll learn more about us as time goes on." Ocelot said and Harry nodded stepping fully into the room. "But we already know a lot about you, your profile is remarkably detailed." Ocelot commented and Harry just let out a small 'huh' of acknowledgement, already knowing that they had plenty of information on him. "We'll be back at base soon enough relax while you can." Ocelot said as he turned walking out the door that Octopus had walked out off. Harry waited for a moment, the other members of FOXHOUND pretty much just went back to what they were doing, Raven had his eyes closed, his head resting against the side of the plane, Mantis also seemed to be off in his own little world, Liquid after several moments, probably making sure that Harry wasn't going to go crazy and blow the plane up left the room. Wolf was currently reading and Harry walked over to the chair next to his trunk and sat down. Almost immediately a sigh escaped from his lips at just how comfortable the chair was before he leant over the side flicking open the trunk.
It was still sealed, thankfully it seemed that even though Octopus could copy his appearance he couldn't copy his magic and gain access. He placed his hand on the lock, gave it a second before hearing the telltale click of it unlocking and opened it up pulling out a book that rested on the top. "How did you manage to open that?" Wolf asked looking up from her book, having seen Harry open up the trunk without a key.
Harry just responded with an enigmatic smile as he closed it the lock resealing immediately. "Magic."

They arrived, wherever here was. A relatively non descript airport that Harry missed the name of, their gear was unloaded from the plane and immediately loaded into cars. Harry found himself sitting in the back of one of the cars with Liquid driving. The others getting into other cars leaving the two alone. "So what's your game Liquid?" Harry asked and Liquid glanced at the Rear view Mirror. "As a tool I'm not going to be effective, I know little about Non Magical conflicts and how to fight with the addition of the bounty sitting on my head a lot of people are watching my every move. It won't take long for them to link your mysterious prisoner and my disappearance." Harry explained and Liquid nodded.
"True, that would be a problem," Liquid spoke calmly almost bored, "But they would be foolish to start a conflict with FOXHOUND, we have the backing of the United States Government afterall." He commented and Harry smiled.
"So they will leave me alone so that they don't suffer the backlash of attacking an American Military Organisation. At least I won't have to watch my back all the time." Harry muttered and Liquid laughed.
"I didn't say that now did I?" Liquid replied and Harry focused on the reflection of Liquid staring intently at him.
"What do you mean?"
"You're the new blood of FOXHOUND, we've got to get you up to speed, you said it yourself, you're not trained to fight our way."
"So that's called training, not really sure why I should be watching my back all the time." Harry replied cautiously.
"Training in a controlled environment while giving you the skills won't give you the know how on when to use them, we'll be adding our own personal touch to the training." Liquid commented and Harry felt his head drop.
"I'm going to end up as paranoid as Mad Eye." Harry muttered under his breath before looking back up at the mirror. "So How does the hierarchy fall here Oh King of the Mountain?" Harry questioned and for a second Liquid gave him a glare that made Harry feel like he was back in his first year dealing with Snape. It unnerved him badly. After that it was gone.
"You're working for FOXHOUND a rookie but you work for FOXHOUND, You take orders from the group, my orders supersede theirs." Liquid commented and Harry nodded his head. "The others won't take advantage of that." He said and Harry let out a small sigh of relief and Liquid smirked. "Too much anyway."
"Joy, just want I want to be a bag boy for an anti terrorist group." Harry commented semi-sarcastically. He knew it was better than the alternative and this kind of Hazing was common in a lot of situations.
"Well, we've arrived." Liquid spoke as he pulled up on a deserted road surrounded by trees. He got out of the vehicle and Harry did so as well as the other members of FOXHOUND exited their vehicles as well.
"I have to say, I expected more, your base isn't a treehouse now is it?" Harry joked and Liquid chuckled dryly.
"No this is another test." He stated, "The Headquarters is Five kilometres that way through the forest, you're going to go that way, your mission, to get to the Headquarters undetected." Liquid explained and Harry frowned but nodded his head.
"This the second part of my induction then?" Harry questioned and Liquid nodded.
"We saw some of your combat skills when we tested you before but another key part to FOXHOUND is espionage, I want to see how good you are at sneaking." Liquid said and Harry nodded his head. "Two rules for this test though," He said and Harry turned to look at him. "No Magic, I want to see what you can do without your special abilities," Liquid explained and Harry nodded again not trusting his own voice to just give an affirmative, "the second rule, don't kill anyone," He ordered and Harry nodded with a lot less hesitation, that rule worked perfectly well for him, "they may be soldiers out to find you but they're still our troops." He explained and Harry crossed the road. "Go when ready." Liquid finished and Harry moved off into the woods.
"How far do you think he'll get Boss?" Ocelot asked and Liquid laughed.
"He won't make it even a quarter of the way without his gift." Liquid said as he checked his watch.
"You have that little faith in him?" Ocelot asked in bemusement wondering why they recruited him if he was going to get taken down that easily.
"At the moment yes, his magic is his strength, having no access to it, he's at a strong disadvantage and I don't believe he'll be able to adapt enough." Liquid replied and Ocelot laughed.
"So you leave the kid to get beaten by the soldiers so he'll take more aggressively to the training, you can be very devious when you need to be Boss." He said and Liquid nodded.
"Let's get going," Liquid said and the others got into the respective vehicles after a final glance at the woods where Harry had entered.
"You did remind them to use blanks didn't you?" Mantis chimed in and Liquid just smiled. "This could be a lot more fun than I originally thought." Mantis chuckled entering the vehicle.

Continuing on with where the other chapter left of, i was rying to shape the interactions of the characters and not turn them into replicas of the Last days of FOXHOUND variant (seriously love that webcomic.) But I also wanted to show a slightly lighter side to the group. i think it worked okay but hmm... i still dont know completely.
