Chapter 1
Duel of the Fates
-:-
As the battle of Naboo unfolds, Padmé Amidala, Queen-Elect of the planet, leads an uprising in order to liberate her home-world from the greedy Trade Federation, who've illegally invaded and occupied Naboo without any fear of interference from the Galactic Senate. While the Gungan army distracts the droid army of the Federation, Queen Amidala, accompanied by two Jedi, Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi, leads a sneak attack on the Theed Royal Palace in order to capture the Viceroy and escort many pilots take their Naboo Starfighters in the hanger to destroy the Droid Control Ship in order to knock all the Battle Droids out and force a surrender from the occupied forces that have terrorized the people of Naboo for weeks.
But unknown to them all, someone strong in the dark side of the Force was waiting for them, to show the Jedi and the galaxy that the Sith have returned…
-:-
The hanger doors opened and several Battle Droids were suddenly shot!
"There they are! Fire!"
"Roger roger!"
From the hanger doors, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan deflected many blaster shots using their lightsabers, while Padmé and many of her security forces fired on the battle droids.
Young Anakin Skywalker, who Qui-Gon had found on Tatooine, remained close to Qui-Gon and the other security forces. Despite he was a bit afraid, he hoped that the battle would unfold well.
"Ani, find cover." Qui-Gon told Anakin "Quick!" Anakin nodded and quickly went somewhere to hide.
"Get to your ships!" Padmé called to the pilots while taking out many droids, providing cover for them.
While many blasters were fired from both sides, one by one, the pilots entered their Naboo Starfighters and flew off into space.
Anakin first hide behind some barrels, but seeing that it wouldn't provide any cover, he had to find a different place to hide. When he noticed R2-D2 was being taking into a fighter, Anakin figured that inside a fighter would be good place to cover.
As the young boy sat in the cockpit, he kept his head down. Artoo beeped to Anakin, asking if he was alright. Anakin nodded "Yeah, I'm okay, Artoo."
After a few minutes of intense fighting, the hanger was secured with the final pilots flew off with their fighters and the last droids were taking care off.
Padmé then stated to her captain, Quarsh Panaka "My guess is the viceroy's in the throne room."
Captain Panaka nodded, thinking the same thing and ordered the other guards "Red group! Blue group! Everybody, this way!" and everyone began to walk to the other door which was a shortcut leading to the throne room.
Anakin saw that everybody was leaving and called while standing up from the cockpit "Hey, wait for me!"
Qui-Gon however told the young boy "Anakin, stay where you are. You'll be safe there."
"But I-"
"Stay in that cockpit." Qui-Gon told him again. Anakin nodded and sat back.
Just then, the doors slide open, revealing the dark warrior, Darth Maul, who'd attacked Qui-Gon before on Tatooine. Padmé and the others stopped, feeling that this Zabrak was not friendly.
Maul glared at them, but was more focused on taking out the two Jedi who he fiercely hates.
"We'll handle this." Qui-Gon said as he and Obi-Wan were ready to face the Sith Lord, showing no fear.
Padmé nodded "We'll take the long way." And she and the others went out of the way, finding a different route to the throne room.
Anakin saw the Sith Lord too, seeing how he, along with Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon took off their cloaks, readying themselves to face each other in battle. The young boy could feel the Dark Side coming from the dark warrior and looked in shock as he recognized him as the same person that engaged Qui-Gon when they were about to leave Tatooine.
But then Artoo beeped, seeing three Destroyer Droids attacking Padmé and her security forces. Anakin feared for Padmé's safety as they were unable to defeat the droids cause of their deflector-shields "We gotta do something, R2."
Meanwhile, Darth Maul ignited his double-bladed red lightsaber, while Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan ignited their green and blue blades. Maul attacked the two Jedi, using his strength and agility to slash his lightsaber at them! Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon avoided his strikes and attempted to attack him, but Maul appeared to be masterfully capable to deflect their strikes!
Though Anakin wanted to help, he knew that he couldn't help Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and instead tried to turn on the Naboo Starfighter he was in to come and rescue Padmé from the Destroyer Droids.
R2 beeped he had to hurry, with Anakin saying "I'm trying to! I don't know where the trigger is!" he pressed a button, making the fighter to take off "Oops, wrong one. Maybe it's this one?" he pulled a switch, but that only closed the cockpit "Nope. Wait." He then saw the controls to fire "Here it is." And fired many blaster shots at the Destroyer Droids, destroying them as their shields couldn't deflect blasters from a Starfighter! "Yeah!"
Padmé saw this and was thankful that Anakin had saved them. She then told the others as the final Destroyer Droid was taken care off "Let's go!" and all headed to the other door to get to the throne room and arrest viceroy Gunray.
Anakin tried to get his fighter to land, but after noticing it was on automatic pilot and was unable to take any control. The fighter flew off on its own into space.
Qui-Gon saw Anakin leaving on the Naboo Starfighter and feared for his safety, but being in battle with the Sith Lord, the Jedi Master could only pray in his mind that Anakin would be okay.
Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon kept fighting Maul with all they had, but the Sith Lord proved to be a very capable and strong fighter, as he used his many athletic and strong attacks against the two Jedi, kicking Qui-Gon away before opening a big door, luring his two enemies into the Generator Complex where they continued their battle, where master and padawan worked alongside to defeat the dark warrior.
After more than a half hour of nonstop fighting, the fierce lightsaber duel went deeper into the big generator complex, all three delivering many blows, but were able to deflect each. Suddenly, when Obi-Wan dropped his guard, Maul kicked him hard in the face, making him to fall down several floors, before he held on to the edge!
Qui-Gon, still having his earlier encounter with the Sith Lord on Tatooine fresh in his mind, having been nearly killed, delivered a more aggressive attack and punched Maul hard, making him fall backwards several levels and fell hard on his back! Qui-Gon jumped after him, but before he could attack, Maul kicked him away. But this time, Qui-Gon did not hold back and kept aggressively attacking the Sith Lord, forcing Maul to be pushed further back while trying to deflect Qui-Gon's strong and fast attacks.
Obi-Wan was able to pull himself back up, picking up his lightsaber and watched above where his master fought the Sith Lord alone. Obi-Wan used the Force to jump high, landing on the level where Qui-Gon and Maul fought. Obi-Wan reignited his blue lightsaber and ran as fast as he could to aid his master.
As laser walls turned off, Qui-Gon forced Maul further and further back into the secured hallway, both deflecting or avoiding each other's attacks with all they had, till suddenly, they were separated as the laser walls turned on again.
Obi-Wan was unable to catch up to them in time and was locked away a few dozen laser walls away.
Qui-Gon deactivated his lightsaber. Maul, impatient, hit the laser wall with the end-part of his double-bladed lightsaber, but the laser wall proved to be impossible to penetrate, even for a lightsaber. Maul deactivated his double-blade and began to polar bear walking while glaring at the Jedi Master, fueling his rage and hatred for him.
Qui-Gon, feeling tired after the intense duel, sat on one knee and closed his eyes, and started to meditate to have a clear mind to remain focused.
Obi-Wan felt helpless as he was unable to come and help his master while he deactivated his lightsaber. He was worried for Qui-Gon, as he could sense that he was tired, not even having the strength to defeat the dark warrior. He even blamed himself for letting his guard down and was separated from the fight.
What seemed like 10 minutes, Maul, fueled by his anger, was more focused then ever to finally kill the two Jedi. Starting with the old man.
Qui-Gon kept meditating, being calm and patient.
Obi-Wan breathed loud, ready to run and aid his master as soon as the laser walls would open. He ignited his lightsaber.
The lasers walls opened. Qui-Gon immediately opened his eyes and both him and Maul reignited their lightsabers, continuing their duel!
As the final laser walls opened, Obi-Wan made a run for it to help Qui-Gon. But then… the laser walls shut again! Obi-Wan was too late. He watched his master was facing the Sith Lord alone, using all the strength he'd left to destroy the Sith Lord, but Maul proved to be stronger as he could sense Qui-Gon getting tired, delivering even more fiercely strikes.
Obi-Wan begged in his mind for Qui-Gon to hang on.
But then… Maul stunned Qui-Gon by slamming his face with the hilt of his saber and then stabbed Qui-Gon through the chest!
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Obi-Wan cried in horror as his master was defeated, as Qui-Gon fell on his knees, feeling his life slipping before falling on the floor, presumed dead.
Obi-Wan's sadness made place for anger and grief for being unable to safe his master. He glared at the Sith Lord, wanting to make him pay for what he'd done.
Maul could sense the Padawan's anger and smirked as he began to polar bear walking again, summoning his hatred to fuel his dark side powers and to kill the young Jedi, who was now succumbing to his own demise.
Obi-Wan however was no longer feeling afraid to fail or to die. He was going to kill the Sith Lord, one way or another. He could sense that Qui-Gon was still alive, but barely.
'Hold on, master, I'm coming for you.' Obi-Wan mentally promised to safe Qui-Gon, even though the odds were thin he could safe him from dying.
After 10 minutes, Obi-Wan reignited his lightsaber, followed by Maul and the laser wall turned off, the two engaged each other with many ferocious strikes, with Obi-Wan being faster with his saber than ever before, deflecting Maul's attacks with speed and delivered many strikes on him.
Obi-Wan's sudden finding strength surprised Maul as he did not expected the young Jedi to be this strong, but that didn't held him back from killing him as he used all the dark side in him to deliver more slashes on Obi-Wan, who deflected them and then chopped Maul's double-bladed saber in half and kicked the Zabrak warrior back hard!
Though Maul had now only one working saber left, he delivered several strikes on Obi-Wan, who deflected his attacks, with Obi-Wan delivering several strong attacks before his and Maul's lightsaber locked! Maul then Force-pushed Obi-Wan over the edge into the vast reactor shaft as he dropped his lightsaber on the floor, but Obi-Wan held on to a small input nozzle, preventing him from falling down into the abyss.
Maul looked down at Obi-Wan down in the shaft before he kicked his lightsaber away into the shaft, dissapearing into the vast void below.
Taunting the young Jedi, Maul tries to dislodge him from the wall by striking his saber over the edge, slashing many sparks.
Though Obi-Wan was feeling his grip slipping and feeling scared, he tried to calm himself, thinking of what Qui-Gon would do right now. But that got him an idea. Qui-Gon still had his lightsaber!
He glared at Maul before calming himself… and used the Force to jump back up and summon Qui-Gon's green lightsaber into his hand, igniting it! Surprised, Maul had little time before Obi-Wan jumped over him, and in an instant… sliced him through the waist, cutting him in half!
Maul was shocked at how the young Jedi managed to defeat him as he slowly fell backwards, feeling his life slipping away and fell down into the shaft, presumably dead.
Now that the dark warrior was defeated, Obi-Wan deactivated Qui-Gon's lightsaber and ran over to his fatally-wounded master. He was still alive, but could die any minute 'No! Please, Qui-Gon… don't die on me!'
Qui-Gon muttered, knowing he will die "No, it-it's too late… it's…"
Obi-Wan shook his head "No."
But suddenly… time seemed to freeze around Obi-Wan. His body wouldn't move… but his spirit did. Confused, Obi-Wan looked around, seeing behind him, himself, holding his dying master "Wha… what is this?! What is happening?!" Obi-Wan wandered as he almost panicked.
"Don't be afraid…" a female voice spoke behind Obi-Wan, which startled him as he turned around, seeing a bright light, which hurt his eyes first.
When his 'eyes' got used to the light, Obi-Wan saw a female figure in front of him "Who… who are you?"
"I am… The Force…"
Obi-Wan was completely surprised by this. The Force itself, in person, was speaking to him "I… I don't understand."
"Your master… Qui-Gon Jinn… is about to die. But… this is not how it supposed to end. My Chosen One… must be trained by Qui-Gon…"
Obi-Wan blinked his eyes "The Chosen One? You mean… the boy… Anakin?"
"Yes… he must be trained… by Qui-Gon…" the Force itself stated, before she showed Obi-Wan a vision of Anakin, how he would grow up, trained by Qui-Gon in the ways of the Force "No other Jedi is more suitable to be his teacher than Qui-Gon himself. He would be the father-figure my Chosen One needs, who would guide him and would make changes for the better good for everyone." When the vision ends, the Force itself told Obi-Wan "Use your power to safe him. For the prophecy to come true, Qui-Gon must live…" the light shined over Obi-Wan brighter and brighter, granting Obi-Wan some of her powers "Use my gift, Obi-Wan… Safe him… Safe him…!"
Obi-Wan gasped as this amazing experience ended. He looked down at his master, now holding him in his arms.
Softly, Qui-Gon asked his Padawan his dying wish "Obi-Wan… promise me you will train the boy."
For a short moment, Obi-Wan didn't answer, before he shook his head "No. You're going to live!"
Qui-Gon was this close to say that it was alright as there was no way he could safe him and must promise him to train Anakin. But then, Obi-Wan placed his right hand on Qui-Gon's wound and closed his eyes, breathing easily "Obi-Wan…?"
Using this power, granted by the Force itself, Obi-Wan slowly healed Qui-Gon's wound, sending new life energy into him. After a minute, Qui-Gon gasped as his wound was completely healed, like he wasn't even hurt.
Surprised, Qui-Gon looked down at his chest before glancing back at his Padawan "Wha… how…? How did you do that?!"
Obi-Wan smiled and said as he helped Qui-Gon to stand back on his feet "I… I don't know how to explain it, master, but… it was the Force…"
"What?"
"The Force itself, master!" Obi-Wan answered, being overwhelmed by his experience "When I… held you in my arms… I was suddenly spoken by a voice…. It was… the Force itself, in person, standing before me. She told me that… Anakin must be trained by you and she gave me this power to safe you!" Obi-Wan shook his head before saying "You were right, master. Anakin Skywalker IS the Chosen One!"
Qui-Gon could almost not believe what his Padawan told him. Was the Force REALLY speaking to him and told him to safe him?
Then, Qui-Gon could hear the same female voice, speaking softly "You must train him, Qui-Gon…. He will bring true balance and safe us all…. Train him…"
Qui-Gon looked around where that voice came from, but couldn't see her. Both master and Padawan exchanged a short glance, smiling to each other.
While Qui-Gon used the controls to open all the laser walls, Obi-Wan glanced down the shaft where the presumed dead Sith Lord fell into. He tried to use his senses to see if he could still sense some life within the dark warrior, but couldn't sense anything.
Qui-Gon managed to override the controls, forcing the laser walls to remain open for a longer period of time and told Obi-Wan while leaving the room "Let's get out of here and join the others."
Obi-Wan followed Qui-Gon, but then sensed lots of cheering and joy throughout the planet "Do you feel that, master?"
Qui-Gon nodded "Yes. The battle must've been won."
And to the two Jedi's confirmation, the battle had indeed been won. The Trade Federation was defeated and Naboo was free.
Anakin, though unintentionally having joined the space battle around Naboo, had successfully destroyed the main reactor of the Droid Control ship, which turned him into a hero to all the people of Naboo. Though it was a reckless decision, Qui-Gon was proud of Anakin for his heroic deed, and so was Obi-Wan. But mostly, Padmé happy at Anakin for saving them all, and hers as well.
But Anakin couldn't take all the credit, as everyone had done their part in the battle, even to those who gave their lives to free Naboo, including the Gungans who'd fought bravely against the Droid army.
Throughout Naboo, the people were freed from the infamous camps as the nightmare of the Trade Federation occupation had finally come to an end.
-:-
The next day
Sheev Palpatine, who's Naboo's senator, representing his home-world in the Galactic Senate, was elected Supreme Chancellor by a large vote of sympathy. Alongside with the Jedi Council members and his new staff, Palpatine arrived on his ship at the capital of Naboo, landing close to the entrance of the palace.
Among the people who'd been waiting for the now turned Chancellor's arrival, Viceroy Gunray of the Trade Federation and his righthand man Rune Haako would be handed over to the Republican law enforces, to pay for their crimes they've committed on Naboo. And after what Viceroy Gunray had done, the Trade Federation was now in a bad and embarrassing position in the Senate.
Padmé, now wearing her Queen robes, deciding not to use one of her decoy's to speak for her this time, said seriously to Gunray "Now, Viceroy, you're going to have to go back to the Senate and explain all this."
Captain Panaka then added to the Neimoidian "I think you can kiss your trade franchise good-bye."
Seeing it was pointless to talk himself out of this, Gunray and Haako turned themselves, being escorted by security forces into the ship. Now, Gunray had to embrace the consequences for his actions as the new Chancellor wasn't as easy to be pursued, as the last chancellor was voted out a few days ago by a vote of no confidence.
Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and young Anakin walked over to Palpatine and made a bow.
Proudly, Palpatine told both Jedi "We are indebted to you both for your bravery, Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi." He then glanced down at Anakin, saying with a smile "And you, young Skywalker. We will watch your career with great interest."
Palpatine then walked over to the queen. Padmé said with a smile to her loyal former senator, now Supreme Chancellor of the Republic "Congratiolations on your election, Chancellor."
"Your boldness has saved our people, Your Majesty. It's you who should be congratulated." Palpatine said, knowing it should be Padmé and her boldness and bravery who saved Naboo. As they walked together back to the palace, Palpatine said "I am sure that together we shall bring peace and prosperity to the Republic."
Padmé nodded "I feel the same, Chancellor."
-:-
That same evening, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon had a meeting with Jedi Master Yoda in a separate room in the palace, where they told of their encounter with the Sith Lord and Obi-Wan having defeated him.
Yoda then spoke as he walked with his stick "Obi-Wan Kenobi. Confer on you the level of Jedi Knight, the Council does." Obi-Wan felt happy for being granted the tittle of Jedi Knight, though he never did the trials. But having shown such bravery and skill against the Sith Lord, Darth Maul, had earned him more than enough to be bestowed on the rank of Jedi Knight. But then Yoda said seriously to Qui-Gon "But, Master Qui-Gon, agree with you taking this boy as your new Padawan learner… I do not."
"Anakin is the Chosen One. You must see it." Qui-Gon stated, saying the same thing when Anakin was first denied by the Council to be trained into the order as he was already too old.
Yoda sighed before he said, feeling deep down what his training would bring "The Chosen One he may be. Nevertheless, grave danger I fear in his training."
That was when Obi-Wan told Yoda "Master Yoda, Qui-Gon is right. Anakin IS the Chosen One and Qui-Gon is the right person to train him in the ways of the Force. I have seen it."
Yoda glanced at Obi-Wan, wandering what he meant that he saw it "Hmmm. Seen it, you have?"
Obi-Wan nodded as he stated "Master, after the battle with the Sith Lord, I… the Force itself was speaking to me, telling me that Anakin must be trained by Qui-Gon. She… showed parts of his future under Qui-Gon's tutelage and will make changes for the better good for everyone. The Force then gave me this power to heal Qui-Gon fatal wounds. That's how I saved him."
Yoda was intrigued by Obi-Wan's experience as how he saved Qui-Gon from dying, even having a meeting with the Force in person.
Qui-Gon nodded, confirming what his former Padawan said "It is all true, Master Yoda. It was the will of the Force that I had to live, to train Anakin as a Jedi."
Yoda scratched his chin, being in deep thought about this "Hmmmm. The Force itself, normally never interfering, it does. But… interfering only, when necessary." Yoda spoke, as the Force itself would normally never interfering with any events, but in the time of need it will, which hadn't happened in thousands of years. Yoda was conflicted about this. Was this truly the will of the Force itself, that Qui-Gon should live to train Anakin Skywalker as a Jedi? Yoda then told both Jedi "Meditate on this, I will." He then walked outside the room with his walking stick, having to meditate to be absolutely sure.
Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan exchanged a short look before leaving, giving Master Yoda some privacy.
For hours, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were waiting in a waiting room along with young Anakin. In the meantime, some other council members were called into the room with Yoda, discussing privately if Anakin should be trained as a Jedi or not.
Anakin sighed deep before he stood up from his chair, wanting to stretch his legs and take a little walk along the hallways. As the young boy looked out a window, looking over several places where the people who died in the battle to liberate the planet were cremated, Anakin was approached by Padmé, now wearing her handmaiden outfit "Hello Ani."
Anakin glanced at Padmé, forming a smile "Hey."
"The Council still hasn't decided yet?" she asked.
Anakin shook his head "No. But I kinda understand why it's taking long. Obi-Wan told me that… he saved Qui-Gon from dying after seeing the Force in person."
Padmé was a bit surprised to hear that "Really?"
Anakin nodded before giving a shrug "Yeah. I never really thought the Force was lady."
Padmé giggled at that "Me neither."
"But… I NEVER expected you to be a queen."
Padmé formed a small smile as she said "It was for my own protection."
"I know." Anakin ensured her. He then sighed, thinking what to do if he won't be trained as a Jedi.
"What's wrong, Ani?" Padmé asked.
"Well…" Anakin said "I was just thinking what to do if I still won't be trained as a Jedi. Qui-Gon told me that he will train me anyway, but… if that's still not an option, I've been thinking to maybe get a job or something when I grow up. I bet I can be a great mechanic to earn enough money to hopefully free my mother one day."
Padmé thought it was sweet of Anakin to get some work when he gets older so he can earn enough money to buy his mother's freedom.
Just then, both heard the doors of the room where the Jedi Council was debating opening. Anakin glanced back at Padmé first before walking fastly back to Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan.
From the room, Mace Windu, the female Togruta Shaak Ti, the Cerean male Ki-Adi-Mundi and finally Yoda walked out. Yoda then spoke as he glanced at Obi-Wan "The experience you've had with the Force in person, true it was.
Mace Windu nodded as he said "After discussing this and some meditating, we have all agreed."
Shaak Ti then added "It is truly the will of the Force that had played out, which has spared Qui-Gon from a terrible fate."
Yoda then glanced at Qui-Gon, with Anakin standing next to him "Your apprentice Skywalker will be."
Anakin was overwhelmed. After first being denied to be trained as a Jedi, Yoda and the council have changed their minds and allowed to be trained, by Qui-Gon nonetheless. Qui-Gon proudly looked down at Anakin, feeling happy to that the council now know that he is the Chosen One and is allowed to be trained.
Yoda then told Anakin as he walked over to him "Young Skywalker. Though clouded, your future is. Your destiny, trained as a Jedi, by Qui-gon, you must. Make your choices carefully. Trust in the Force and guide you, it will."
Anakin nodded as he gave a bow "Yes, Master Yoda. I will remember. And thank you."
Padmé smiled as she looked from the doorway, feeling happy for Anakin to be trained as a Jedi. But… deep down, she knew that it meant he would be brought to the Jedi Temple and both would maybe never see each other again. She was sure going to miss him. She then left to go back to her chambers.
And so, while Anakin was brought by Qui-Gon to cut his hair to form the style of a Padawan and giving him Jedi robes of his own, Mace Windu told Yoda after having studied about the dark warrior that nearly killed Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon "There is no doubt that the mysterious warrior was indeed a Sith."
Yoda nodded "Mmm. Always two there are. No more, no less. A master and an apprentice."
Then Ki-Adi-Mundi did wander "But… which was destroyed? The master or the apprentice?"
Shaak Ti shook her head "I guess we'll never fully know the truth… until the Sith are truly destroyed. But, now it seems that the Sith have truly returned, somehow… I can feel that they're going to cause a lot of trouble over time."
Yoda and the other council members agreed with what Shaak Ti felt.
-:-
The next day, a great parade was held in the capital of Theed, with Gungan and Naboo citizens celebrating they were free from the Trade Federation and a newly formed friendship between the two races had been established. This would no doubt be the largest and grandest joint victory ceremony ever in the history of Naboo.
At the top of the stone steps of the palace, Queen Padmé Amidala stood together with Chancellor Palpatine, the twelve members of the Jedi Council, the now promoted Jedi Knight Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon, with next to him his new Padawan learner, Anakin, whos was now wearing his newly Jedi robes and his hair was cut short in the style of a Padawan, with a small Padawan braid hanging on his right side.
As symbol of their newly formed friendship, Padmé presented Boss Nass of the Gungans with the Globe of Peace, a hallowed Naboo artifact from the days of yore. As Boss Nass took the globe, he turned towards the crowd and lifted the globe in a dramatic gesture, and shouted "Peace!"
All the assembled Gungans, including Jar Jar Binks, thrilled with joy, immediately broke columns and started dancing across the plaza and the people cheered. Before all of this, some people had initially doubted Amidala's leadership abilities due to her young age of 14. But now, Padmé knew that such distrust had melted away when she gazed at her people and the Gungans.
Padmé glanced at Anakin, who smiled at her, and she did too. Qui-Gon noticed it, feeling that his new Padawan and Padmé truly cared for each other, which made him smile.
Later that day, as most of the festivities were finished, Chancellor Palpatine was about to make his leave, along with the Jedi Council members and the new Jedi Knight and Jedi Master, along with the new young Padawan.
Anakin made a bow before Padmé before saying "Well… I guess this is goodbye…?"
Though hiding her sadness, Padmé nodded as she said "Yes… your new life awaits you, Ani."
That was when Anakin asked her "Will we ever see each other again?"
Padmé formed a little smile before giving a nod "Yes… I think we do."
Anakin gave a nod too "Me too, Padmé." He then sighed "I am really going to miss you."
"Me too, Ani." Padmé said, before showing what was in her hand. It was the same necklace with the pendant Anakin carved out of a japor snippet, as a gift to Padmé so she'll remember him "But don't worry. I have this to remember you by."
Anakin glanced at the pendant, before glancing back at her face. Both smiled at each other.
"Anakin. It's time to go." Anakin's master, Qui-Gon told him.
Anakin nodded to Qui-Gon "Yes, I'm coming, master." He then glanced back to Padmé "Well… until we meet again… someday."
Padmé nodded as Anakin turned and went over to Qui-Gon and both entered the ship. Anakin looked back at Padmé one more time before entering.
A minute later, the ship left, heading towards Coruscant.
And so, with Qui-Gon saved from dying, what more is about to change to Anakin Skywalker's fate, to those he loves and the whole galaxy? Only time would tell….

A/N: The second chapter will be made very soon!
And as always… may the Force be with you…
