Okay. So, looks like this is it! Time to go and look for a long lost treasure and also meet with someone whom the Loud's haven't seen in a long, long time! Let's go treasure hunting! Chapter 552: The Camp Treasure Hunt…
(March 27. Camp Mastodon.)
We now see the group, composed of the Louds, Lewis' and Rosato's. They have their bags packed and ready with everything they need and all thanks to Mr. Rinsler and the emergency supplies from Michelle Lewis.
Lincoln then looks to everyone. "Alright everyone. This is it. We're gonna go out there and we're gonna find the legendary long lost treasure of Captain Kit. Are we all ready for this thing?"
They all nod. Then Lucy looks to Lisa. She has the map. "Is there anything else that the map says Lisa?" Lisa looks to the map and there are some words written and she reads them.
"Begin your journey with a starting clue, and let this animal be a guide to you." Lisa then looks around. "Has anyone seen any fauna around the perimeter of the camp and…. Lana, don't even think about it." They see Lana was trying to grab a hornets' nest. Rita grabs her before she even does so.
Amanda then uses her phone, to text Mr. Rinsler, of the hornet's nest located near camp. Luan then realizes. "Wait, I know what the map means!" She then points to something carved to a log, an alligator with a compass. "The whole thing wasn't a riddle or a clue, but a pun. A Navi-gator! Get it?"
"There!" pointed Luna, and they see more of the same carved Navi-Gator, and they all lead into the woods. "They lead to the forest. Looks like that's where we're all going." They all head off. Then Mr. Rinsler shows up, and sees they're gone.
"Huh, I guess they must've went off to find the…" Then he sees the Hornet's Nest. "Well, time for me to send these bugs back to the wilds." He puts on a bee keeper's protective suit, but I don't think it could be that strong against hornet's.
(Later.)
The group arrive, to a fallen tree and they see it is huge. "Well, this sure blows" replied Lynn Jr. "Can we climb around it?"
"Nope, I think Lily has an idea" replied Lana, and they see Lily has her toy shovel and she digs. "Oh, this is so my element!" Lana tosses her bag onto Lana, and she digs as well.
"Allow me to join as well" replied Lucy. She has her shovel and she also digs. "After all, I did win the grave digging contest five times in a row."
Amanda and Michelle are confused hearing this. 'Wait, Grave Digging Contest?'
Lily, Lana and Lucy did it, they manage to make a large hole under the tree to get to the other side. Amanda sees she still has signal on her phone and she messages Mr. Rinsler about the fallen tree on the hiking trail.
Lynnard then looks to Lisa. "Alright, Lisa. What's the next clue?"
Lisa has the map and she reads it. "Buttes will lead you to your park, where you will head into the dark." She then sees Lynn Jr. about to use her rear to hit Lola, but she speaks. "Lynn, that's not what it means. The pronunciation referring to something, like that." They see the large rock formation far away. "That is a Butte. A geological term for an isolated rock formation with steep sides."
Michelle and Amanda smirk. "Glad we have rock climbing gear. Alright, let's get to climbing!" They all head over there, but this concerns Lynnard since he never truly learned how to climb something that steep.
(On the Butte.)
We see the group at the top, they managed to climb up and even Lori pulled her strength and helped the younger Loud's reach the top. Jordan smirks. "Looks like we both got the dodge ball arms good and strong for climbing too."
Lincoln smirks. "Can't wait for when we compete in the dodge ball contest."
Lynn Jr. smirks. "Sure enough I am gonna be there to watch you guys win it and send Hazeltucky packing back home."
Lucy then speaks. "Everyone, look." She smiles when she points to this cave entrance, and it kinda looks like a giant skull with the entrance being the mouth. "Head, into the Dark. Get it?"
Luan is surprised and nervous. "Ummm, this is not the kind of pun I would call funny."
Amanda and Michelle hand everyone some hard hats, with flashlights attached to them. "Everyone, we're going into the dark" replied Lincoln, and they all make it inside, though Lynnard seems terrified. Lana sees a bat, but then Leni grabs her away from it.
Michelle sees a torch, and she uses some matches to light it up. Then Lynnard spots something that startles him, a skeleton on a chair. "What the heck?!"
"Whoa! Captain Kit?!" replied Lincoln and Amanda.
"Looks like the guy didn't quite make it alive" replied Luna. "Chances he remained here, to ensure the treasure was guarded. Unless he's also hiding something that would lead us to it."
Lucy snaps a photo of this, and Leni looks around. She does see the necklace. "Guys, when we saw the image of Captain Kit, did we see this necklace around his neck." They look to the skeleton and Amanda has the photo of the captain, and this makes Leni curious. "I wonder…" She then pulls out another pair of white sunglasses and she places it onto the head of the skeleton captain and then she takes a necklace, and the chair moves and they see an opening to the bottom.
"Okay, that seemed like a reference to something from Indiana Jones" replied Michelle Lewis. "Looks like we're going in gang." She readies some rope, and so do the others.
"Wow. This is already feeling exciting!" replied Lynnard. "Also, who the heck is Indiana Jones?" They all remain silent and just get to climbing down. But then Michelle tosses the fire torch to the bottom, and they can see the solid ground.
They soon reach the bottom, and are now inside an underground cave. Lynn Jr. then yells. "World Heavy Weight Champion!" She hears her echo, and this makes Lincoln and Jordan chuckle.
Lincoln then asks Lisa. "So, what does the map say now Lisa?"
Lisa reads the map and she smirks. "This will be something truly suited for you and Luna. Listen closely and you will hear, this sea song ringing in your ear." This confuses the others. "Take a look, over there." They see the lute, and this makes Lincoln and Luna smile and they head over, even Michelle goes over to see the instrument.
"Is that some kind of guitar?" asked Lola.
"This right here is a lute" replied Michelle. "An old string instrument which existed way before guitars were ever made, and is also kinda like the instrument bard's would play. I totally forgot that these things existed during nautical times." Then they see the initials on the base of the instrument.
"This right here belongs to Captain Kit" replied Lincoln. "It makes sense, we saw another old photo of the captain and he had this instrument in his right hand. Luna, I think the clue was to play a tune, in a C Minor."
Luna nods, and so she strums on it, but then she stops and she tunes it a little, and then she sings a small song, which she heard from her hero counterpart from the other world, but she just sings the first part of the song.
"I'm on a boat! I'm on a boat! Everybody look at me because I'm sailing on a boat!"
They see the wall behind Luna opens, and they see the golden shine, and inside is gold, tons of it! "Oh-M-Gosh!" yelled Leni, and Lori is stunned and so she takes a photo of this.
"We did it!" cheered Lynnard. "We found the long lost treasure of…"
"STOP!" yelled Lola, and she heads over to the gold. "Something just doesn't smell right here." She then grabs a gold coin and she bites it, and it bends, and then she grabs another one and crushes it, and it turns into some dirt. "This is not gold, or even jewelry. This is fool's gold! We've been played!"
Lynnard is confused. "B-But, what?! But, it's all so shiny and…" He sees the gold fades from the golden plate and now it's steel. "Dang it!"
Luan then speaks. "So, if this isn't the actual treasure. Then where is it?"
"I don't know, but I don't think we should be touching…" Rita then sees Lily grab a red ruby from the wall, and the whole place shakes. Lily chuckles nervously and Rita sighs. "Of course, well this can't be good."
They then see the ceiling break above them, and so they make a run for it. Lincoln does carry Jordan bridal style and she likes this, but then Luna carries them both and now this is kinda awkward. They all make it out to safety, and then look around. "And we're lost" replied Jesse Rosato.
Rick then sniffs the air. "Can't smell anything or even feel a breeze. Best we try and search around for a way out, there's gotta be someplace…" Then Michelle uses the torch and they see the fire moving. "Huh, well that could work." He's handed the torch and they follow to where it might lead them.
As they all walk deep into the underground cave network, they hear some growling. Lynn then speaks. "That was not me guys. I swear." They then see foot prints, and it leads to a angry mother wolverine.
"Oh boy" replied Lincoln. The wolverine growls and snarls at them, but then Michelle, Amanda, Jesse and Rita cast this glare onto the mother animal, and the glare feels like a strong shotgun, and the four women growl and this scares the animal, and she takes her leave with her young ones.
Lori notices this. "Wow. Four mom's who know how to literally scare the living daylights out of anything, and anyone."
Lynnard is a little freaked out. "Still, we should keep going. Perhaps follow the angry wolverine? I mean, they did always say follow an animal since they know they're way out, am I right?"
Then Lincoln sees something. "Guys look!" He sees the hat. "The hat of Captain Kit, which means there might be something here to help us get out, and head back to camp."
Luan then takes the hat and she wears it. "Don't worry guys, we're gonna make it outta here and hats no lie!" she laughs, but she hits the stalagmite rock, and it tips over and the ground shakes. "Oh, oh boy. Well, this one's on me." The ground beneath them opens and they fall inside.
They all are now riding down this rocky pathway, that seems more like a slide. Lynnard is screaming, but the others are cheering and raising their arms in the air because it feels like a water slide ride. They then continue this sliding fun, and they all are thrown off and they land onto some old sacks.
"Now that was awesome!" cheered Lynn Jr.
"That felt like an actual water park slide, just without the water!" cheered Jordan.
"Let's go again guys!" cheered Lana.
But then Lynnard cries. "No, please no! I don't wanna go back!"
Amanda sees the sacks. "These are very old, like nautical times old. Also, they smell like radishes."
"Everyone, come over here." They all head to Lisa and she looks to the wall and the carvings. "The same symbols from the map, and if I am not mistaken it also seems to match what Leni found earlier." Leni then has the necklace, and she attaches the totem onto the carved hole. "Hmmm, something seems to be missing." Lily goes over, and she also places the red ruby. "Good job Lily, at least the ruby was real."
They see the walls opening, and they prepare for what's to come. But then the wall reveals an opening to the cave, but that's not all. They all gasp and they see gold, the treasure of Captain Kit. Leni then asks. "So, are we allowed to celebrate?"
"Allow me!" Lola then goes to the gold, and she bites a coin, and it is hard. She then cheers. "This is the real treasure! We found it!" They all cheer and head over to the gold.
Michelle then asks. "How the heck do we even bring this back to Camp?"
Lynnard cheers and does a little dance, but then he hits a button on the wall. "Oh no. Oh come on!" They see the wall moving, and headed for them. "Can't we have one moment where the walls won't be a threat to us?!" They see it is pushing them to the entrance of the cave.
Lincoln looks out and sees it leads to the bottom of the river. "This is bad and… Wait, what?!" He sees a boat, and then he sees who is onboard. "No way, gramps?!"
They are all surprised to hear this. "What?!" They all look down, and seethe elderly Loud who kinda looks like Lynn Sr. if he were old, and he has his boat with it.
"Hey there, my little minnows!" yelled Leonard. "Everyone jump, my net will catch ya!"
"That's cool and all, but the gold and treasure!" yelled Lynn Jr. "Also, the walls and pushing!"
Leonard then calls out. "I got a plan, now jump!" They all do as he says and they do jump, and the same time the walls push the treasure out, and it all lands onto the boat, and the others land into the large net and are brought onto the deck and are safe. Lynnard goes over and hugs Leonard.
"We're so glad you came! You must've been brought here by a miracle!"
Leonard chuckles. "Actually the terrible Morse code ya sent brought me here." This confuses the others. "Alright gang, let's get back to Camp Mastodon and unload the biggest discovery in the history of Michigan!" they all cheer and the boat follows the lake back to Camp.
Leonard is confused seeing the other folks. 'Who the heck are the two ladies? The one with glasses seems kinda familiar though.'
(At Camp Mastodon.)
We see Mr. Rinsler, all patched up from the hornet's fight, and he is now stuffing so many marshmallows into his mouth, but then he sees a familiar boat, and he spits out all the marshmallows. "No way! Leonard Loud?!" the boat makes it to land, and they unload the treasure. "This… Is this the legendary long lost treasure of Captain Kit?"
"You bet it is!" yelled Lynn Jr. "and we went through so much to find this, and went through pure life changing and possibly scarring moments." She is not wrong.
"I enjoyed all of it" replied Lucy with a smile.
Rick then asks. "Hey, so have there been any calls as of lately? I wanna know if some pals of mine called if they wanna be the camp counselors of the place."
"Sorry, Richard" replied Mr. Rinsler. "Not a single call. I have been so concerned of someone not taking my place, and I wanna stay and manage everything, but my time has come and I gotta head off to new grounds and enjoy the rest of my life and…"
"By the sea dogs and cat fish!" yelled Leonard. "Let me handle running the camp!"
This surprises them, and Lynn Sr. speaks to his father. "But, dad… What about you're fishing career?"
Leonard smirks, and he explains. "It sure is dang good to be fishing out at the Bearing Sea, but I think I have been away for far too long. I miss being around the family, even if we might just be one drive away, and so I think this sea dog should put the sea legs away, and just hit it like a land lover. I'm gonna be the new guy who runs and manages Camp Mastodon!"
They're all happy to hear this. Rick then speaks. "I will get the paperwork ready." The others place the treasure into boxes, and Jesse makes some calls about what has happened, this is going to be in the news, and of course Amanda Bright throughout the whole journey has been snapping some photos, and she is so going to put this into the Royal Woods Gazette.
Leonard looks to the others. "So glad to be with family again!" he then hugs the Loud's. "I miss my grandkids so much!"
Lincoln and Luna then speak. "Gramps, we're not you're grandkids anymore. We're not even Loud's anymore and we're all fine with it."
Gramps is surprised and he let's go of them and asks. "What?! I don't get it, what do you all mean?!"
So, they all tell him the whole story, and it is a long one which involved what went down with Lynnard and Rita, they're time in jail and parenting classes, and the one woman who has taken care of them all and then has taken custody of Lincoln and Luna, who are now the children to Michelle Lewis, and they see a mother figure within Amanda Bright as well.
Leonard is confused, and also bewildered. "What? Are you all serious? Are we even accepting this? Kid's, even though those bad things happened, there is legit no need to just shove off the boat and not be a family. You two are Loud's."
Luna then explains. "We're not Loud's, true. But we still see the others as family, well not all of them." Rita and Lynn Sr. knows what she means, and this still confuses Leonard.
Lincoln then speaks. "You weren't even there to witness what was happening, and the last time you were with us was when Lily was born, and the next day you left. We're happy to be Lewis', and even though it was rocky at the start for some of us, the others have learned to accept it, even Lynnard and Rita. We also see a mother title within Amanda Bright. We even call her mom too."
Amanda is still touched to hear this. Lori then speaks. "Gramps, Lincoln and Luna have been through so much and it was literally full proof and solid evidence that Rita and Lynnard haven't been the best parents to them for a long time and what they wanted from Luna. But they have accepted it, but we all learned to accept it first. We need to adapt to change, and change has literally been around while you weren't there. Pop-pop adapted, and he was fine with it. He did punch your son though."
Leonard looks to Lynn Sr. and he sighs. "He did, and I deserved if for not being a good father, and being blinded by what I wanted, when clearly it wasn't what Luna needed."
"Now, if you will excuse us" replied Luna, and she looks to Leonard sternly. "We're gonna go and enjoy this spring break here at Camp Mastodon, and we're still pretty miffed that Lynnard never even bothered to bring us here before."
They all head off to have fun, and also help with the treasure. Lynn Sr. looks to his father. "Dad, accept how things are and just go with the flow. I have, and I am still doing my very best to earn their redemption, same with Rita." He then heads off, and also joins in on the fun.
But Leonard Loud doesn't seem to be accepting this. 'This… This is all so wrong on so many levels! Lincoln and Luna are Loud's, and that is final! I am not gonna let some Lady like her and that four-eyed girlfriend of hers take them away from my family! I wanna see just how good of a "parent" this Michelle Lewis truly is, and convince Lincoln and Luna to be Loud's again. As it should be and always will!'
A/N: They found the long lost treasure of Captain Kit through one heck of a journey, and also encountered a family member, and it seems he is not keen with what he hasn't been informed about. This might be a problem. I do hope that you all enjoyed reading this new chapter everyone.
