"Ah..ah...ACHOO!!"
I grumbled grumpily as I wiped my nose with th sleeve of my coat as I walked along the cold icy trail, what happened earlier was the worst thing that happened this day.
My hair is tangled, a wet sopping mess that looks like undercooked sloppy spaghetti, my snow boots were covered in frost and felt so stiff and heavy that I could barely feel my own feet.
"That darn Sandslash...I'll give that rodent a piece of my mind after I'm done with all this crap.." I grumbled
Don't get me started on that...

I took a deep sigh as I wiped my face with a hand towel which mom thankfully packed in my cube, today no more excuses no more errands, just continuing the main storyline, and not doing some stupid side quests!
As I walked around the cold, dark cave a small round ball suddenly charged infront of me, fillig the surroundings with chilly bluish dust,
I instinctively release Nova, as I jumped slightly and clutched the egg carrier on my chest trying to make it not fall.(wil explain how the heck she got that later in the fic)
"Holy shit.." I muttered softly, as Nova growled at the foriegn threat infront of us
The dust started to settle, as I braced myself for what to come, knowing the future won't help at unpredictable situations like these not all you've seen will match up.
When it finally cleared I saw... a spheal..well, a group of spheals..

The distinctive sound of my pokedex said as I looked at the small critter, it's wide eyes looking at me with happiness and playfulness. It clapped as it rolled along the icy cavern floor pleading Nova to play with it.
Nova glanced at me with a confused look as I ighed and gave her a 'it's good' signal and began to play with the little spheal and it's friends.
A slight break won't change the plot of this story, right?

As I sat down the frost encrusted floor, I suddenly sneezed as I wiped my nose with the sleeve of my jacket, am I getting a cold? Looks like it. Not long after the thought a cough escaped my lips as sniffled softly.
Nova immediately stopped playing and waddled right by side nuzzling my other arm in concern
"It's fine, just a little cold..." I said, my voice came out kinda hoarse, she doesn't seem to be convinced and lets out a soft whimper in response.
Breaktimes over, time to go..
I bid the group farewell as they waved their stubby fins at me and gave soft happy chirps in response, but as soon as I am about to leave, I felt a tugging motion at my leg.
One of the spheals had it's teeth clamped into my leg, it jumped down after I noticed it and bent down to face it.
"Hey there, what's the matter?" I said, as the small blue spheal jumped up and down and rolled around as it gave a little chirp.
I cocked my head to the side, totally confused, If only I can talk to pokemon( except Gardevior and Lucario, those two are surprisingly the only two that can communicate to me)
The spheal seems to roll its eyes as it gestures to the pokeball in my belt, does she wanna be caught?
I opened my cube and took put a empty ball, and it squeaked in delight as it jumped over me, toppling md over and nudged it's head agaisnt the ball.
"So... two down." I said as I took the now beeping ball as Gible smiled happily, I took the ball happily.
And so, I began my venture out of this icy hellhole. The sooner I'll get out the better.
What happened next was not so interesting so I'm not gonna make this long. A few more spheals here and there, with the occasional, swinub and bergmite, I coughed and sneezed occasionally, but it's not that bad... save for the scratchy feeling on my throat.
"Darn! I lost." The trainer said, for one reason or another many trainers have been training in here for lots of reasons, or just like me, trying to get to Dresco town. The trip would be easier if the KBTs expressway wasn't blocked.
Those blasted Trainer trees...
Anyways, having many trainers in here is a good thing for gaining battle experience, especially for Nova and Spheal.
(A/N: Spheal has no nickname(why idk), please give some suggestions in the reviews section, if you want to)
Anyways, after a fateful encounter with a sweet Chansey, who happily healed my party. I met the my crazy red-headed rival and the self-proclaimed "Mortal enemy of The Shadows." I was expecting him to be here, and is brash as usual.
"Fancy meeting you here, I figured you'd be out there running out some "errands" for that old man, or something."
I let out a sheepish grin and replied
"Well, I am..."
"..."
He stayed silent for half a minute before sighing. "Oh, you are... Typical."
I couldn't fully stifle the laughter I was holding in and released a small chuckle by accident.
"He's such a cheapskate. That old man can't do anything by himself." He continued,
I sighed, a faint smile painted on my lips, I opened my cube and took out a small red colored pokedex. I cleared my throat slighty to gain his attention, while he ranted about the Professor. Geez give it a break.
"You have something for me?" He asked in a dull tone, Arcues.. he gets on my nerves sometimes
"Your pokedex, silly." I replied, smiling..
I handed over the device, as he turned it on, only hear Log's annoying ass voice introducing it's mechanics. His intrigue suddenly turned into disappointment at the sight.
"Great... Now I'll never get that old man's voice outta my head..."
He closed it and placed it in his cube, and faced me...for a while before looking away with a seemingly dull expression.
"But... Uhh.. Thanks..I guess.." He said bashfully, he clearly doesn't how to be polite, but he's trying so I'm giving him credit.
"He probably asked you to fill this up, well in this case I hope you caught some good Pokemon to fill it's pages, right?" He smirked, I sighed, knowing his personality so damn well. I smirked back, knowing his intentions.
"Let's battle! I wanna see if you got better since last time! That victory last time is a fluke!"
"What did you say? I only hear 'Skill Issue'~"
"..."
You couldve seen the look on his face! His expression was priceless! Anyways like always he challenges me to a battle, nearly everytime we meet.
"Go, Swinub!" He called
A small, brown rodent like pokemon came out, it has a small button pink nose with dark brown stripes on it's back.

A little cutie, it let out a grunt as a steam of air blew off on it's nostrils in confidence. I sighed as I released Nova, surely sending out Spheal won't do good for me. Besides Nova knows Firefang, she'll be fine.
"Gible!!" She screeched, as she prepared to battle.
"Nova use Firefang!" I ordered, but unfortunately her aim is a bit...off. Nova ended up tumbling and slipping off the icy floors and hitting the equally slippery walls.
I cringed slightly in pain as I faintly hear Ace laughing his ass out in the background, Nova manages to get up on her feets and shake her head to reorient herself, after a few minutes of wobbling she finally was steady on her feet.
"Anyways, my turn. Swinub Icy wind!" Ace ordered
In command, Swinub inhaled deeply and breathed out a gust of icy wind from it's mouth, and hitting Nova spot on!
She lets out a groan of discomfort and pain, but stood up strong and proud, I was about to stop her but she looked at me with fiery eyes filled with determination and fighting spirit.
She doesn't look injured, and the attack barely dented her(tho the wall did a number on her). I allowed her to go on battling as I also ordered her a metal claw attack.
And this time, it hits home. The poor Swinub took the full brunt of the damage and ended up tumbling away, unable to battle. Ace lets out a growl of annoyance as he sent out his Larvitar, who gave a small growl of greetings to Nova who chirped back in response.
Their little reunion was cut short as I returned Nova to her pokeball, to make sure she doesn't take unnecessary damage. I sent out Spheal, who seems excited to battle.
Since Larvitar is faster, he gets the first move. He gave her a nasty bite, but since Spheal is a bulky ass pokemon, She barely flinched.
"Water gun!" I ordered
Obediently, she took a deep breath as water began to pool in Speal's mouth and was set loose in a powerful blow as it hits Larvitar square-on, Larvitar was still standing but is drenched and was barely standing. Concerned for his pokemon's safety he (begrudgingly) admits defeat.
"If I had known you'll catch pokemon like that, I would have started a lot more sooner!"
One, Spheals can be found almost everywhere in this cave, Secondly, I started a lot later...
I smiled, face full of victory, as Ace looked at the carrier on my chest, with curiosity.
"Hey, since when did you have that?" He asked, pointing towards my egg carrier.
"Oh this, It's a gift." I said causally, as I rubbed my nose using the sleeve of my coat.
He raised an eyebrow, as he looked at me curiously
"By who, I doubt that old geezer would give you one." He said
"I got it from Gray, my older brother."
It stunned him for a whole damn minute.
Yes, I do have a older brother, he's pretty much traveling all over the places, and unlike me he is a mean bastard.
"Wait YOU have a brother? I always thought you were an only child." Assumptions, fucking assumptions.. my dear Ace.
"Is he a some sort of genius like you?" He asked as he took a sandwich out of his cube and munched on it.
"Ace... the word genius is a fucking understatement." I said darkly, Even before this regression, I couldn't beat him. Even if he's using handicaps, he's like a puppet master.
He gulped as he regained shook his head and cleared his throat and changed the topic of this conversation.
"Oh right, as a thanks for getting this(pokedex) to me, you can have these."
At that he gave me Safety goggles, which I remembered can nullify weather-related damge and powder effects. Pretty handy for the next gym.
"Have you considered on taking Gym challenges?" He asked, I subtly nodded. Of course I am, how am I going to reclaim my title if won't take the challenge.
"Just like my home region in Hoenn or like any other region, there are 8 Gyms in Borrius. If you beat them all, you'll be hailed as a powerful trainer."
"But isn't that common knowledge?"
"Yes but- Ugh! Let me continue. I already started my challenge yesterday, and I already have a tough time in Dresco town. The gym leader keeps spamming poisonpowder on my pokemon, so I searched for a way to prevent it."
I smirked, almost cynically
"Then you found those safety goggles, didn't you. Those can nullify powder effects, doesnt t."
He smiled as he nodded. "Hell yeah, after that he never stood a chance."
We both broke into laughter before petting my shoulder.
"Good luck, Silver! Make sure you don't lose to anyone, I'll be the first one to defeat you!" He said, before moving on, I waved him goodbye as I finally continued walking, and finally exit this godforsaken cave, and to experience some sweet, sweet sunshine.
And right after I came out, I was met by the glorious rays of the sun. It feels so good to be alive~
A nice lady offered to dry me, and heal my mons which I gladly accepted, Dresco town is a hop away so it's fine for me to just laze around here. I began to take the grassy path, I need more than 2 pokemon to defeat this gym, and Spheal is very much in danger since its a water type. So I need is a little fire power-
CRACK!
Wait, what the heck just happened!? Did this egg start to hatch? Well it has been moving for a awfully alot, these past few hours..
I set the egg on the ground, letting it hatch better, the constant cracking and cooing noises are getting much more louder, my heart began racing as I wonder what pokemon will it hatch.
Gray didn't specify what this is, oh when I meet him eventually I'll give him a smackdown.
Meanwhile...
Somewhere in Johto, a certain 'person' randomly sneezed, and continued walking, but couldn't shake off the feeling that he's being badmouthed
Going back...
The egg suddenly, bursted open leaving revealing a large golden glow that made me cover my eyes in discomfort, when the light settled down I saw a small yellow...charmander...
Well, he had a Charizard based on what I remember so he probably bred it...
Hold on...
Yellow... Yellow...
