Chapter 72 – Planning
"Show us R2," Luke said right away, while everyone went to the living room and sat down, waiting for R2 to transmit the message.
In seconds, a hologram appeared, showing Thrawn image, looking at all them, like he was seeing them for real.
"Hello once again," the image spoke smiling, which made everyone feel uncomfortable at the same time.
"Jeez, it really show that guy doesn't smile much," Han replied right away.
"Let's hear it," Leia said looking at her husband, who raised his hand in the air, in a sorry kind of way.
"I think I need to congratulate you, cause once again you got the best of me. First with the crystal and now with the events that happened in Geonosis. I did underestimated the legendary Luke Skywalker, once more. But I did learn my lesson, that is why I decided to addressed you myself. After all I know how good person you are, how you care not only for your family but for everyone in the galaxy. After all, not everyone was ready to sacrifice himself for the Alliance like you did, during the Battle of Endor. That is why I decided to send this message directly to you and tell you my demands. I will give you 72 hours to meet me, in my personally ship to discuss your and the New Republic surrender. And you must think that would be easy, that all you need to do is make a plan and come with your squadron and destroyed me. But you will see Skywalker that I have some tricks too," Thrawn said and showed a little glass recipient with a red liquid.
"The virus," Ezra said right away.
"You probably are asking what it this? This is a very deadly virus, and now it is not like the last one you had to deal with. Yes I know about that. This is way more dangerous cause all I need to do is release it in the atmosphere and everyone in Coruscant will be dead in 12 hours. Knowing how much you care about everyone, I'm sure you don't want that. So, you will come alone and maybe I will not put the whole galaxy in danger. And one more thing, I will send someone I trust to pick you up. You will not fool me this time. A bounty hunter that I'm sure you know pretty well, will reach Coruscant in 10 hours. Be ready or else…"
And with that the hologram vanish, leaving everything in silence for a while.
Padmé approached Luke.
"Papa, will that mean man take me again?"
Picking up him daughter and made her sit on his lap, Luke kissing her forehead.
"No sweetie, nobody will take you from me ever again. I promise."
"What we will going to do. Now he got us?" Ezra replied.
Ines looked at her husband.
"I will not let you go alone this time."
"Kid, you heard him. If we go with his, or if Thrawn finds out he is not alone, everyone in Coruscant will died." Han said looking at her.
"Not necessarily," Luke said looking at them with a smile.
"Why are you smiling in a situation like this?" Ahsoka said.
"Because I see you didn't pay attention to what Thrawn was saying at the end."
Everyone looked at each other.
"I don't get it kid. You should be worried."
"I am, but didn't you hear what he said. About sending a bounty hunter to pick me up." Luke said looking at them.
Leia and Ines glare at each other understanding what Luke just said.
"Wait, do you think it is Boba?" Leia asked.
"He knows the problems we had in the past with Boba, especially about what happened to him in the Sarlaac Pit. Who else he would send, but the guy who would hate us the most and want revenge on us."
"But Fett is on our side now!" Ezra replied.
"But apparently he doesn't know that, at least according to his message," Luke nod.
"So are you saying we can go in Boba ship and hide there?" Ahsoka asked with a smile on her. "Cause I'm liking this so far."
"This is a chance to end this once and for all," Ines nod.
"So what is the plan kid," Han asked, while everyone looked at him.
"Okay, hear me out," Luke started and everyone started listening what he had in mind, nodding and smiling. This was it.
After a they heard everything, they all nod.
"I think it will work," Leia nod.
"Are you sure you are able to do this Ezra. After all we depend on you and your memory," Ines asked looking at him.
"You can count on me. I only need a lightsaber. I still don't have mine."
Everyone looked at each other. He was right. He needed a lightsaber and having his would take time.
Ben stood up and ran towards his bedroom. After a few minutes he came up, with his lightsaber on his hands.
"Here, I can borrow mine if you want."
Ines and Luke looked at each other and smile. They were proud of their first born.
Ezra looked at the lightsaber in the kid's hand and looked back at him.
"Really?"
"It is my grandfather's lightsaber but I trust you can bring him back in one piece, right?"
Ahsoka looked at Anakin's lightsaber and then to 6 years old kid, her master's grandson and smiling she pulled Ben towards her and kissed the boys' top head.
"I'm sure your grandfather is very proud of you," she said making Ben smiled at that.
"I promise nothing will happened to it and I will bring safely. Thank you."
"Okay, then we have a plan. Now we only need to inform Fett when he arrives." Leia said.
"And hope it is him indeed or we are doomed," Han said.
"It will be him, uncle Han," Alli said.
"How do you that kid?"
"Women intuition," she said making everyone laughed at that remark.
So they all have a plan. But what it is? And it will work?
