Chapter 75 – The Fight Part 2
In Coruscant:
Leia was on her office in the Senate building. She was feeling everything through the force about what was happening inside Thrawn ship and a few minutes ago she felt the distress in her twin brother. She knew something was happening, something not good.
She knew had to act quickly.
"Han," she contacted her husband.
"Yes, what is it?"
"Gather the Squadron, and lift off, right now."
"What happened? What did you sense?"
"Something is not right. I felt Luke distress and I'm worried. So you better get up there in case a fight starts inside, and when that happens they need backup."
"Did you inform Mon Mothma about it?"
"I will deal with that late. Right now what it matter is my twin brother and my sister in law."
"Okay. We are on our way."
"Be careful. I love you."
"I know." and the communication was cut.
She knew that the moment the fleet lift off someone would inform the Senate and indeed a few minutes later Mon Mothma entered in her office with Admiral Ackbar right behind her.
"Senator Solo, I was informed that a fleet just left off out of atmosphere. Can you explain to me why?" she asked Leia.
"I ordered them to do that."
"Did you have some reason for that?" Ackbar asked her.
"Yes. And I was intended to explain everything but you arrived first but, please sit down," she said pointing to the sofa in the middle of the office.
After explaining to to them everything what was happening, she looked at them, waiting for that reaction.
"Why did you informed me about that?" Mothma asked.
"Because I didn't want to report something without anything to actually report. After all I know how busy you are with the other Senators. So I was hoping we didn't need the fleet but something happened."
Mothma and Ackbar looked at each other. Both lived the time where the old Jedi Order was still around and they knew Leia and Luke were twins and being force sensitive they had a connection that was out of ordinary and if Leia felt something was not right, than maybe they need backup.
"Alright. I leave you at command of what is happening right now through Coruscant. I just want to keep inform about everything. No matter how busy I am."
"I will. Thank you for your trust." Leia said as they all stood up.
"I know your mother, she is one of my best friends. Besides the four of you already gave us enough evidence how good you are together." she said and with a smile they left, leaving Leia looking at 3PO.
"Let's hope everything goes well this time too."
"Don't worry Mistress Leia. General Solo is one the best pilots we have right now and besides Master Luke is a very intelligent, even for a human being."
"Thanks 3PO," she said and they walk back to the desk.
In Thrawn Star destroyer:
"You let her go right now!" Luke demanded when Joruus kept walking through the room.
Luke gave a quick glare to Boba and Fennec as they also kept an eye on Joruus.
"Well, well, well, I thought I said for you to come alone, but of course, I should have known that where is one, the other will be too, which always make this even better." Thrawn said continue to be sitting on his chair, like everything was fine.
"Joruus, let her go. You don't want to do this. This is not the Jedi way." Luke continue to talk to him but he kept looking at Ines, who slowly grabbed a small knife from her pocket.
"The Jedi were fools. I tried to show them that but they were too blind. Until Thrawn understood what I meant."
"Thrawn as being lying to you all this time. He never told you who you really are."
Joruus frown at him.
"What do you mean? I know who I am. I'm Jedi Jorus C'baoth."
"No you are not. The real Jorus died a long time ago. You are his clone."
"You are lying."
"Am I? Did you ever wonder who everything is so different right now? Sometimes you still talk like you are in the time Jorus was alive. When everything change. Cause you are not the real Jorus and Thrawn knew this all along and never told you." Luke continue.
Joruus glare at Thrawn who smirked at him.
"Thrawn told you would say this to me. You are a disgrace and you will pay." He said and he was ready to act but with a nod, Ines stuck the knife of Joruus right leg, making him scream in pain and push her away, which made Luke look at Boba and Fennec.
"Now!"
With a quick move, Luke pull his lightsaber with the force from Boba outfit and ignited it.
"It is over Thrawn. Surrender."
"This is not over yet," Thrawn said laughing and pressing the button from his chair he order.
"Release the ships," he said.
Outside in Space:
The Squadron was outside when they started to Tie Fighters coming out from the Star Destroyer.
"Here it comes people," Han said through communicator.
"Well I was wonder when we would have some action too," Reed replied.
"Let's give Luke and the other some times. We need to make sure they leave the ship and then we can blow up," Ahsoka said.
"Then let's hope this is quick," Hera replied looking at her.
And the battle outside started.
Inside the Thrawn Room:
Luke blocked Joruus lightsaber with his own, while Fennec and Boba were shooting some troopers that entered inside trying to help Thrawn.
Ines just kick one of them, and looked at Boba
"Don't let him leave," she pointing to Thrawn who was ready to ran the room, but it was block by Boba.
"I don't think you will go anywhere."
"You, from everyone I would not expecting you to be on their side. Do you think they will accept you, with your past. A bounty hunter, that worked for the Empire!"
Boba stood there, until Fennec grabbed Thrawn and made him sit down with a gun pointing at him.
"Shut up!" she ordered looking at Luke who was still fighting Joruus, blocking and attacking him, until he flip and kick Joruus in the face, making the old Jedi grabbed his cheek and glare at him.
"That was a nice kick."
"I had a great teacher," Luke said looking at Ines who was ready to attack Joruus from behind but he turn and blocked it, giving time for Ines to kick him on his injured leg, which made him mad and with the force he pushed across the room, making her hitting on the wall before hitting the ground.
Walking towards her, Joruus raised her from the floor with a force choke.
"You will pay, this is all your fault." he said.
Ines was gasping, trying to breath but she couldn't.
"You will die," Joruus said but before he could finish do it, a green lightsaber appeared through his chest, making his look down with a gasp and letting go Ines who fall and started to cough.
Turning to face Luke, Joruus fall onto his knees when he pull his lightsaber.
"Why her?"
"Because the force chose her. I don't like to kill but never mess with my love ones cause they come first." Luke said as he watched Joruus last breath.
Then they heard on their ear communicator Ezra's voice.
"Guys we need to get out this is getting difficult."
Helping Ines to stand up, with a nod, they looked at Boba.
"We have to go." Luke said.
"You can't kill me," Thrawn said to Luke when a shot was heard and red started to appeared on his white suit.
"But I can. This is for my home and my brothers," He said before walked away.
"Go," Fennec said.
"What are you going to do?" Luke asked.
"I will be right behind you," she said.
Running from the room, they reached the Slave 1 where they saw Ezra blocking the shots from the troopers while Rex kept shooting at him.
"Where is Fennec?" Rex asked.
"Right here."
"The let's get out of here," Ezra said.
As Boba entered and started the ship, at the same time the ramp close.
"Where is the virus?" Ines asked.
"Right here and we destroyed everything in that laboratory," Ezra said with a wink.
"Oh by the way, you better warn your fleet to back away," Fennec said making everyone looked at her.
"Why?" Rex asked.
Fennec smirked and Luke understood right away and he started to communicate with Han.
"Han tell the fleet to leave the place right now cause this is about to blow."
"Copy that," Han said. "You heard the guy."
As Slave 1 left the ship with the fleet right behind, a few seconds later a big explosion was saw from behind and they all watched the big Star Destroyer disappeared, which made everyone cheer, including inside Slave 1.
"We did it," Ezra said hugging Rex while Luke hugged Ines.
"It is done." Luke smiled at her but soon his facial expression change when he saw Ines was started to get pale. "Babe, what's wrong?"
"I don't feel so good," she said and she collapse.
Everyone ran towards her and Luke notice his right hand dirty with blood.
"Oh no. Ines! Ines!" he called her while everything started to get dark and the voices fade away around her.
It is over but is Ines okay or something bad happened to her?
