Chapter 85 – Preparing for Life Day's

It was 5 days before Life Day's Eve, and right now, the women, alongside with Noa, Ken Sr. and the kids just entered in the Temple, with the two droids behind them.

The small kids just started running, towards the center of the Temple, where the beautiful and enormous Life Day's tree was, with the lights illuminating the place, alongside the every other decorations, with the other trees, and the lights and figures spread every where, while the older kids: Iris, Ken Jr, and Cindel were watching laughing when R2 and 3PO followed the set of the twins, and Zena.

The adults went to the kitchen, putting the things on top of the table, while Ken Sr. went towards the tree that was inside the kitchen, having his youngest grandson, on his arms, smiling when the kids pointing to the lights in the tree.

"You really love the trees and the lights, don't you?" he said kissing Luke Jr, cheeks. "You are your father's mini me for sure. Which makes me think, where the guys?" he asked looking at his daughter, and daughter in law, who were taken off the things from the bags, while the other were putting things on the kitchen's fridges.

"Your son, son in law, and Han went to get some things that we still need and made some last time shopping, if you know what I mean," Ines replied glaring at her daughter Padmé, who just entered the room, making Ken glare at his granddaughter.

"I see, and where is Padmé and Ahsoka?"

"I'm right here grandpa," Padmé looked at her grandfather, with her hands on her hips, shaking her head, like he had lost his mind, making him laughed really hard.

"You know I'm talking about your grandma, young lady, so don't shake your head to your grandfather. You are just like your mother when she had your age, jeez. Calling Deja vú, right?" he said looking his grandson who nod, making him laugh.

"They went with them too for reasons," Leia said which made Ken understanding what she meant.

"How about we get out of here and see the big tree," Ken said looking at his grandson. "Come on, little Ines version," he looked at his granddaughter, who followed him.

Once they were out of sight and far away, Aurea looked at them.

"They were still shopping presents?"

"We still some last things," Gracy replied.

"Yeah, like Luke and I saw some things we really wanted to get for the kids. Like we saw these cute robes, with moons, starts and suns, that glows in the dark, and we know the kids saw it and loved it. So even if we said we can buy some other day, we decided we can get now, so Luke went to buy that and there were two sets for the girls, that allow them to make perfumes, so Luke wanted to get that for the girls, cause they love doing bracelets and necklaces. And of course the set to make his won droid, that Ben is keep asking since his birthday."

"That is nice," Noa said.

"Those robes, where are those, cause the twins need some new set of robes and those look great," Leia asked Ines.

"Don't worry, we decided to buy for the boys and Iris, since we still want to get some things for them and for Ken and Zena too, like that perfume and set of make up Iris was begging to have."

"Han will not be happy," Gracy laughed, knowing how Han hated the fact that Iris was becoming a beautiful young lady.

"Well my husband needs to accept our daughter is almost 14 years old and she is not a baby anymore," Leia smiled. "And thank you for that" she said looking her Ines.

"Hey, they are our nephews and nieces." Ines replied and looked at Aurea. "And I'm glad that you decided to stay here this year with us for Life Day."

"Well, this year, I talked to Noa and Cindel, and since we are going to Varykino in a few weeks for Senator Luma and Commander Reed's wedding, then why not stay and spend the Life Day's Eve with you, right?"

"I'm glad you did that. Life Day's is a time to spend with family and you are our family too. After all Luke and I will never forget that if it wasn't for you, me and our Ben were not be here, so you will always be part of the family," Ines said pulling Aurea into a hug, which made the old lady with teary eyes.

"Don't make me cry," she said pulling apart and smiled at Ines. "I would always help the son of dear former Queen."

"I have to say, I thought at least you and Luke would go to Tatooine or somewhere else this year?" Gracy said looking at her sister in law.

"Gracy, you know that at least for us, Life Day's means not hot weather. Even Luke, who lived for 19 years there, he prefers cold weather for this time of year. So Life Day and Tatooine don't combine."

"I agree," Gracy nod.

"You guys remember, back in Alderaan, during this time, the place was covered in snow and we had snow balls fight, and then we had the fireplaces and when it snows during Life Day's Eve?" Leia smile sadly.

"Of course, it was my favorite time of the year. And I wish our kids could see. Since the twins really are eager to see snow for the first time." Ines replied.

"Well I think you are lucky, since according to my family, they are expecting snow for the next months in Naboo." Aurea informed them.

"Then Luma and Reed wedding would be even more magic. Imagine the snow with all the decorations of Life Day," Gracy smiled at the thought.

"You're right." Leia nod. "And I can imagine the kids already playing in the snow, just like we did where we were their age."

"It also means, we need to take warm clothes too." Ines replied. "I can't wait to tell Luke about it."

They were all talking and sitting and talking, when they heard a female voice.

"May we come in?"

Looking to the kitchen door, they saw Hera and Jacen.

"Hera, come in," Leia smiled waving them. "Hey Jacen. How are you?"

"I'm okay. I'm really happy to be here."

"Jacen loves the capital all decorated with the Life Day's decoration all over the streets, alleys and shops. Especially he loved when we made our Life Day's tree for the first time," Hera smiled at her son.

"You never made one?" Noa asked shocked.

"Since we were always here and there, we never had a chance to have one for ourselves. So when we settle down for good here and we got our apartment, it was when we finally had a chance to decorated our home. And I loved it."

"We heard that you got your own apartment, a few minutes from the Temple. Congrats." Gracy replied with a smile.

"Well it is closer to the Temple like you said and I can left and pick up Jacen and go to work. It is not a big apartment, but it is a nice place on the 6th floor." Hera nod.

"And I also heard that you are doing really well here," Aurea smiled at him.

"He is. Luke said that next year he can already build his own lightsaber," Ines nod.

"I can't wait. I'm loving it." Jacen smiled at his master.

"He is. But we came here to first thank you for the invitation. Jacen is counting the days for that night. And also to ask if you need anything from us."

"We are actually thinking of the menu and also the desserts, and we realize we have a lot to do, especially since we will need to make enough food for the next day for the twins 5th birthday," Aurea nod looking at Leia.

"Which remind me, did you order the birthday cake in time. Cause in Life Day, everything is close since it is holiday," Ines looked at her sister in law.

"We did. And the shop contacted us, so we can pick the cake Life Day's and we will put here in one of the fridge, for the next day."

"Good idea." Gracy nod. "But still we have a lot to make in 5 days."

"Well, how about everyone brings one or two desserts from home," Hera suggests. "It will take a lot of work and we can only focus on the main courses."

Everyone looked at Hera and then towards each other.

"Hera, you just saved our lives," Ines nod. "That is a great idea. Right?"

"Perfect," Leia clapped happy.

"I just want to asked one little favor. Everyone bring two desserts, but can at least one of the it be without any chocolate. Padmé, one of my twins, hates chocolate and it is not fair for her not be able to eat sweets, at least that night."

"I can't believe, one of the kids of Luke Skywalker, doesn't like chocolate," Aurea laughed. "How is that possible when your husband is addict to chocolate. Especially hot chocolate."

"Well he has the other twin to share that. Alli loves chocolate. And Padmé loved it, until she hate one time and made her thrown up all night and since then she never ate again. Just like Ben, doesn't like milk. He can eat sweets, and cheese, but drinking milk or take cereals, that is a big no."

"I don't some things too. And we are adults, so why be surprise when the kids don't like it either," Noa said.

"Yeah, unless your name is Bail Solo, who eats everything." Gracy laughed.

"Trust me, Han and I still don't when where he can put so much food in him. Ani is not like that. He likes to eat but he prefers the salty things, than a sweet. But his twin, eats everything." Leia smirked thinking of her boys.

"He is almost 5, so he is growing up," Hera smiled. "Besides by the way he keeps running around and playing, just like I saw when we got in, no wonder he always hungry."

Everyone laughed at that and nod.

"So we have everything planned, all we need is waiting for the guys with the things we still need and start to writing the menu so we can started tomorrow, cause as soon we start to prepare things, the better, so on Life Day's Eve, we can come here in the morning, make everything ready, and after lunch we can start cook, before we can come home and get ready, so at 7pm we can be here," Ines nod, making everyone agreed.

Everything is ready and planned for Life Day's Eve.
