"How was Argo?" The older Alex asked as her sister and niece stepped through the portal.

"It was good." Kara smiled before looking at her daughter. "How's the ankle?"

"All fixed." The younger Alex said flexing the joint.

"What happened to your ankle?" Her aunt asked.

"Flying accident." The younger Alex shrugged just before Kara asked.

"Everything okay here?"

"Yes." Her sister said.

"I sense a but." Kara replied with a slight frown.

"Yeah." The older Alex said before looking at her niece. "You need to get back to the house. Kara needs your help."

"Is she okay?"

"She's fine. But there is a new date for the wedding in under three weeks."

"I'll get over there." The younger Alex said walking off.

"So you okay?" The older Alex asked her sister.

"I am. Argo was needed."

"So things were okay there?"

"For me. Alex was still treated like an outsider, but she seemed okay with it."

"She's tough." Her sister reminded her.

"She is." Kara smiled.

"You feeling better?" Alex asked.

"I am."

"But?" Alex prompted.

"But, are we okay? What I sa-"

"Kara we are fine." Alex assured her.

"You sure? Because you know I could never be done with you."

"I know." Alex smiled.

"Good." Kara said before adding. "I also think I'm not done with Supergirl." She added taking her sister by surprise who responded.

"Well there is no need to rush anything."

"You say that, but the wedding is sounding rushed. Was there a cancellation?"

"No. They are holding it in Midvale."

"I have missed a lot." Kara commented.

"Yes you have and we will catch up. But you have also been missed especially by Steve." Alex said. "Who has asked several times today if you are back. You should go put him out of his misery. Everything else can wait."

"Okay."

00

"You're back!" Steve smiled when he saw Kara on his doorstep. "How are you doing?" He asked hugging her.

"Better."

"And Alex?" Steve asked pulling away.

"Seems fine." Kara said following Steve into his apartment. "Where's Martin?"

"Joined the war council."

"What?" Kara asked confused.

"The wedding planning committee." Steve said.

"I can't believe how much I missed." Kara commented.

"All that matters is you are both okay." He said as Kara's stomach growled. "Hungry?" He asked.

"Key food groups are missing on Argo." Kara said sadly.

"Want to go make up for it?" Steve asked.

"Yes." Kara smiled.

"I'll grab my jacket, while I do, you may want the box on the table." He said moving to his bedroom. As he did Kara went to the kitchen and opened up the box of cruellers. As he emerged Kara was busy eating and he said. "To be honest, I'm a little surprised you are here. I would have thought you'd be with Han."

"Han?" Kara asked confused.

"Alex didn't mention it?"

"Mention what?" Kara asked lost.

"Come on, let's go." Steve said.

00

"He's adorable." Kara said playing with Han. "Why didn't you tell me about him?" She asked her sister.

"I assumed once you heard, you would do this and I thought Steve might want to see you instead."

"Oh, yeah-"

"It's fine." Steve said.

"No it's not. We should go get that dinner." Kara said putting Han down.

"You sure?" Steve asked.

"Yes." Kara said, although she kept playing with Han.

00

"I'm sorry." Kara said as she waited in the queue with Steve.

"For ignoring me for Han?" Steve asked.

"What. No. I mean yes, that too. But I was talking about how I treated you."

"Kara, you were angry and scared, not to mention sleep deprived."

"I still shouldn't have said it. And you don't get like that."

"What can I say? I am perfect boyfriend material." Steve smiled.

"I'm serious. What is wrong with me?"

"Nothing." Steve said. "You have been through a lot. A lot more than anyone should. Blowing of steam is needed."

"I shouldn't have directed it at you."

"Did it help? Even if it was just for a moment?"

"If I am being honest, maybe. But what does that say about me?"

"That it was needed."

"You should resent me."

"Why? You were going through something terrible."

"I don't deserve you." Kara said.

"Just remember that if you ever feel like dumping me." Steve smiled. "Why don't we go back to your sister's? I am sure she needs help with the wedding and that way you can fully replace me with Han."

"What about you?"

"I'll be there too. And then afterwards we can go back to your place, or my place, whichever place Martin and Alex aren't."

00

"You feeling okay?" Lena asked as the young Alex sat in the lab the next day.

"Yes, why?"

"You are being very complaint."

"Aren't I always complaint."

"Compared to your mother, yes. But still not this compliant."

"Well it puts mom's mind at ease." Alex shrugged. "And she has been through a lot."

"That the only reason?" Lena asked.

"Yes. I'd say if I wasn't okay."

"So the sneeze on Argo?"

"Mom told you?" Alex guessed. "There was a dust storm. I am fine."

"Okay."

"So you believe me?"

"No. I think there is more too it. Such as you are missing Matt?"

"That as well." Alex agreed.

"You aren't going to Arizona?"

"I have work and I need to help Kara with the wedding."

"Matt can't come here?"

"He's working. But he can make it to the wedding."

"So two things to look forward to in Midvale then." Lena smiled. "Anyway I am done. So you are free to go."

"Which lab am I assigned to?"

"Dr Tomlin's on the fifth floor. He is expecting you at ten. Any problems let me know."

"I will. Thanks." Alex said jumping off the gurney.

00

"Alex, you need to see this." Lena said approaching her friend later that day.

"What's wrong?" Alex asked looking up from the screen in the DEO control room.

"I have the latest results from Alex."

"What's wrong?" The older Alex said guiding her to another room.

"Take a look." Lena said passing Alex a tablet.

"These look normal." Alex said scanning the results.

"Look at line fifty-four." Lena instructed.

"So Alex has gained a type of immunity?"

"Maybe, I mean that is what the scans look like. Although it is too early to know for sure. But doing more tests would be helpful."

"How did Alex take that news?"

"I thought her favourite aunt could tell her." Lena said.

"About the immunity or the tests?" The older Alex asked.

"Both."

00

"Kara." Cat greeted as she entered the office. "How was your trip?"

"Needed."

"And?" Cat asked guessing Kara had something to say.

"Have you run any stories about Supergirl's retirement?"

"Should I have done?"

"I thought you would have wanted the exclusive."

"When it happens, yes. But I am assuming you are about to tell me you changed your mind. And I hate publishing corrections."

"How did you know?"

"Supergirl isn't a tap you can turn on or off. She is you."

"Alex said something similar." Kara said. "She also reminded me that bringing hope to just one person is worth it."

"That said, being Supergirl, being a hero, comes with a price that Alex can't start to understand." Cat pointed out. "Which is why years ago your cousin gave up and why The Flash gave up and they are only two of many. But you know that."

"I do." Kara said.

"But if you are back you need to decide your Guardian strategy."

"What's he done?"

"Nothing, but has still turned into public enemy number one. I suggest you check out the news."

00

"Hi Alex." The older Alex smiled as she entered the apartment where her niece was looking through some drawers.

"Hi." The younger Alex said. "Everything okay?"

"Yes, you looking for something?" Her aunt asked.

"Yes. This." The younger Alex said pulling a sheet of paper out. Seeing her aunt's confusion she explained. "It has the name of that flower Kara likes." She then added. "Mom isn't back yet."

"I know, I wanted to talk to you."

"About what?"

"Your test results."

"Is something wrong?"

"No, it's good news. We think your body has developed an immunity to what you were exposed to."

"So more tests?" The younger Alex guessed.

"Yeah."

"Now?"

"No. But perhaps tomorrow."

"Sure." The younger Alex said as her mother came into the apartment.

"Hi guys." Kara smiled. "Everything okay?"

"Yes, but I need to get back to Kara." The younger Alex said. "See you later." She added leaving the apartment. Once she was gone Kara turned to her sister who said.

"We think Alex has gained a type of immunity."

"Immunity?" Kara asked.

"That attack won't work again." Her sister clarified.

"Really? That's great." Kara said sitting down trying to take it in.

"It is, but this isn't the reaction I was expecting."

"I'm sorry, I'm just- so much has happened- I don't- she's really okay?"

"Yes." Alex smiled. "And there is something else. While you were away Lobo did his thing. He destroyed lots of labs, we assume they were connected to the attack on Alex. He also left you a gift."

"What type of gift."

"Malaise's head."

"Malaise is dead?"

"Yes." Alex confirmed as Kara stared into space. After a few minutes silence Alex called. "Kara?" Noticing her sister's shoulders were trembling she dropped down next to Kara. "Hey, what's wrong?"

"I'm sorry. I just don't know how to feel." Kara said as she started sobbing.

"Pretty sure there isn't a right or wrong reaction." Alex said hugging her sister.

"I'm sorry, I don't know why I'm crying."

"It's okay." Alex said as Kara finally let the stress of the last few weeks out.

00

"Thought you'd gone home." MJ said confused as the younger Alex returned to the house with Chewie.

"Mom and Alex were having a heart to heart. Didn't want to get in the way."

"Your mom okay?" Mel asked.

"Don't know." Alex said dropping down on a chair as Chewie and Han scampered into the kitchen.

"She needs time." The younger Kara said. "You scared all of us. And you mom had it really tough."

"I know." Alex said. "I just hate seeing her like this."

"She'll be okay." MJ said.

"That is based on what?"

"No matter how bad things get, aunt Kara always finds the light." MJ reminded her before looking at his cousin and asking. "How are you doing?"

"Okay I guess. I mean I still have flashbacks to when I couldn't breathe and my skin burned. But they are less frequent." The comment causing the younger Kara to move over to her and hug her moments before Diz entered the house.

"Sorry, something came up." Diz said walking into the room.

"I'm used to the DEO causing scheduling issues." Kara said as she released her cousin.

"Am I interrupting?" Diz asked looking round the room, feeling like he had walked in on something.

"No." Alex said.

"Pretty sure I don't believe you." Diz said before asking Kara. "Ready to go home?"

"Actually we are going to have a movie night." Kara said.

"We are?" Alex asked confused.

"We are." Kara replied before looking at Diz. "I know you have the early shift. But we'll keep the noise down if you want to crash here."

"Sure." Diz nodded.
