Chapter 2: Following the inky road
Terra quickly jumped out of the demon ink's attack range, figuring that this creature can only do close range attacks. As the keyblade wielder had gained his distance, he pointed his keyblade directly towards the ink creature.
"Fira!"
A powerful fireball was created on the tip of his keyblade. Within the second of its creation, the powerful fireball was launched towards the ink creature's direction.
The ink creature noticed the fireball, seeming surprised for the briefest of moments before managing to avoid getting hit by having the ink around him suddenly cover its body.
This barrier of ink allowed the creature to be protected from the blast of the fireball Terra threw at him. The keyblade wielder noticed this and quickly tried to close in, attempting to land a hit on the ink creature while it can't see him due to the barrier of ink it created for itself.
'If I can land just one hit, it should be enough to finish this thing. But in order to do that, I'll need to wait for an opening. Once I see this creature lower that ink barrier, I'll strike.'
As Terra thought of this strategy of attack, he began to think about the ink creature. He had never seen anything like it.
'This thing isn't like the heartless or the unverse. Could it be a nobody? No. They haven't appeared since Xehanort and his Organization were beaten.'
While Terra was trying to figure out what exactly the creature he was currently facing is, the ink creature eventually lowered its large ink barrier covering him.
Terra noticed this and quickly swung his keyblade at it with everything he had, trying to end this battle with one swing.
As his keyblade was about to connect with the ink creature's body, he felt something strong hit his back all of a sudden.
"Huh?!"
As the keyblade wielder hit the inky ground, he turned around and for a brief moment he saw the old keyblade master.
'Xehanort?!'
Terra was confused yet angry when he saw him but these feelings would turn to just confusion once he blinked.
He closed his eyes just once before seeing that what was Xehanort was in fact a bit of rubble from the rooftop.
This left him puzzled as to why he saw Xehanort instead of the rooftop itself.
'What is going on?'
As the keyblade wielder questioned this, he realized that the floor of ink was consuming him.
'I need to get out of here and quick!'
Terra with all of his strength moved the broken roof top off of him before attempting to free himself from the ink.
He moved around as fast as he could, trying to get out of the ink yet he was sinking in faster than before.
This caused him to move around quickly with a bit of panic before his efforts were in vain as he ended up being consumed by the ink.
'Am I really going to lose this easily…?' Terra thought as he saw nothing but darkness. For a moment, he felt hopeless once again only to hear a faint voice.
"Don't give up, Terra."
'M-Master Eraqus…?'
Hearing the voice of his master allows Terra to pull out his keyblade from the dark ink he was in before being able to shine everything away.
As the darkness was pushed away, Terra fell towards the ground from the rooftop of a new hallway.
'Where…am I now?'
He got up but first he looked at the ceiling to see that the ink he was consumed by was beginning to disappear.
He looked with a serious facial expression before looking around, understanding that he's now deep into the world.
He looked around the hallway for a bit before approaching the nearby path with no door.
He approached it to see that the next hallway has a large pool of ink covering most of the floor while also some ink coming down from the ceiling.
'This isn't a route I should go through.'
As Terra thought this, he noticed someone walking from across the hall.
"Hm? Hey!"
Terra shouted at the unknown person but the person didn't react at all, if anything they just kept on walking.
'Who was that?'
The Keyblade Wielder was about to walk the other direction only to have a momentary pause, having felt a strong darkness.
'Was that person that just walked away...related to darkness?'
With this thought coming to mind, he turned back towards the hallway as he began to analyze how he could pass through the ink without possibly getting sucked in like before.
He continued to observe all possible ways to cross only to choose to run through; seeing that he was wasting time trying to figure out a way through, he just ran through.
After a few seconds of running, he reached the other side of the hallway to see that nobody was around.
'Where did they go?' Terra thought before looking around the area he was in now.
He noticed another cartoon cardboard but he also noticed an odd looking machine with a lightning bolt symbol.
He approached the machine as he noticed a lever on it.
He wasn't sure if he should pull it at first since last time it didn't end well but for some reason he felt that things won't go as crazy as they did if he pulled this one.
Once he did this, he waited for a moment before something happened. After a couple of seconds, a door opened, showing a path blocked by a couple of wood.
Terra pulled out his keyblade before starting to break the wood. Once this happened, he entered the room to see that he was at the music department just by looking at the sign nearby.
'Music department...this place is weird.'
Terra was unsure now on what kind of world did he and his friends ended up in since it isn't normal at all.
There aren't any heartless popping up, there aren't any people around, and there's mostly just the ink itself and the ink creature he faced a little while ago.
Just as this thought was covering his mind, a couple of shadow type heartless appeared.
"Do you all just appear whenever I start thinking about how odd this place is?" Terra questioned as he waited for the heartless to attack. Before the fight could even begin, suddenly a couple of ink creatures appeared which caused the heartless to start attacking them.
The Keyblade Wielder lowered his weapon as he witnessed an all out war between the two sides with the heartless somehow managing on their own against these ink like creatures.
'So...these dark creatures aren't connected to the heartless? Hm. That certainly leaves a lot of questions.'
With these questions surfacing in his mind, he turned around and took this opportunity to explore a bit more.
He walked around a couple of rooms, noticing the same thing that he has noticed for a while, nobody aside from the ink like creatures and the heartless from time to time.
This made him think that it might take a while before he encounters Aqua or Ventus. As he was thinking this, he heard a familiar voice speak to him.
"Still worried about your friends, are you?"
Terra swung his keyblade at the direction of the voice, disliking who he was hearing. As he did this, he heard the voice speak to him from another direction.
"Look at how pathetically weak you are."
Terra looked at the person talking to him to see that it was who he suspected, Xehanort but the version that was possessing his body.
Terra hated seeing this version of Xehanort, hated the reminder of what he had become many years ago. Terra-Xehanort looked smugly at his counterpart, prompting Terra to ask,
"How are you even here?"
"I'm here because of you, Terra."
"What? How?" The Keyblade Wielder questioned. Terra-Xehanort smiled menacingly before turning around.
"Wouldn't you like to know."
As soon as Terra-Xehanort said this, a group of ink creatures appeared all around the Keyblade Wielder, prompting him to look away from Terra-Xehanort to see the threat right in front of him.
He gets his keyblade out as he prepares for battle, seeing that the heartless aren't going to appear as well.
"Once I'm done with these creatures, your next–"
Terra paused himself once he saw that Terra-Xehanort was suddenly gone, similar to how Xehanort had disappeared on him a little while ago.
'What is…'
Terra was left confused in his thoughts for a moment before quickly reacting to the ink creatures approaching him menacingly.
Without a second thought, he attacked the ink creatures, managing to take them down with two to three powerful hits.
As he took out the first wave of ink creatures, a second wave appeared though these ones looked very aggressive towards the keyblade wielder.
'These creatures are nothing like the heartless.'
As Terra took note of this, he quickly started to add some magic into the mix, allowing him to have the advantage. After a few attacks, he was able to overpower the second wave of ink creatures.
Once this was done, the keyblade wielder turned towards his left to see that there were stairs leading somewhere further down.
Although the keyblade wielder wouldn't want to explore more of this world due to how dangerous and closely tied to the darkness it is, he has a feeling that he will find Ventus and Aqua there.
He makes his way down the stairs and begins to investigate the new area while having his guard up, knowing full well that he could be ambushed at any moment. While he looked around, he noticed something written on the wall. He went to take a closer look to see what it said.
Down here we're all sinners.
Terra had a chill in his spine when he heard this, fearing that whatever is in the tunnels he is in are far worse than the heartless. He looked both sides from the wall to see that he was in the sewer system. He looked down on what is supposed to be water, seeing that it was replaced by ink.
'This ink seems to be the source of everything. Why else would it be around this entire studio?'
Having figured that the ink is connected to why this world is in such a state of darkness, Terra knew that he needed to find his friends quickly before the ink did something to them. He turned towards his left side and started to go through the long path.
Just a few feet in only to find an odd looking ink creature with a hat on, making odd noises. This made the keyblade wielder not only uncomfortable but also on high alert.
He prepared to face off the ink creature with his Earthshaker keyblade only for the ink creature to suddenly go deep into the ink on the ground, disappearing.
"I don't like this." Terra said to himself, having a feeling that the deeper he goes into this world, the more danger he is in. As he was walking through the sewer looking place, he found another writing on the wall.
The sheep will gone to slaughter.
"..."
Unsure on how to respond to something like that, prompting the keyblade wielder to move on.
As he walked for a bit, he noticed that the ink creatures and the heartless stopped appearing for now, giving him a momentary break.
While he was on this momentary break, he thought back on how he had encountered not only Xehanort but also encountering a version of himself when he was norted.
'I'm unsure on how Xehanort is here but I know for certain that the evil version of me shouldn't exist. I was able to take back my body. So are they just illusions?'
He thought more and more on how the two Xehanorts he encountered were illusions though it brings him the question as to why they are even appearing.
With these questions in mind, he looked forward and noticed that he was in a room where the floor was filled with ink but the ink creature from before was there as well, holding onto what seems to be a valve.
'Why is it holding a valve?'
Curious on this, he pointed his keyblade at the ink creature before firing a powerful fire based attack. The ink creature felt the fireball approaching it fast, prompting it to go into hiding for a moment by diving itself into the ink.
Terra noticed this, causing him to look around to see where the ink creature went. He looked and looked for a bit before noticing the ink creature reappearing on his right side. He threw another fireball at the ink creature only to see it once again escape.
This made him aware that he needs to get the ink creature just as it is popping up from the ground. He closed his eyes and waited for the right moment before throwing his keyblade towards his left side, sensing that it was going to appear from that direction.
As he threw his keyblade, his weapon was able to connect with the ink creature's body the exact moment it popped up from the inky ground.
Once his keyblade hit the ink creature, the ink creature itself had dissolved in a way that shows its defeat.
As this happened, the valve fell to the ink ground, prompting Terra to approach and grab it.
'I wonder, why was this ink creature holding this valve?'
Curious by this, he took it with him as he walked away from the room and went back the way he came.
As he reached the room where he first saw the writing on the wall related to sinners, he went back up the stairs and arrived at the previous room where he had pulled down a lever that helped increase the electricity in the area.
He looked at the lever to notice that there was an odd tube that seemed to be missing something. His instincts were telling him that it was the valve he grabbed from the ink creature.
'I wonder.'
He set the valve onto the tube, noticing that it was a perfect fit. He turns it towards the right before hearing a noise, one similar to the previous time he moved a lever in the upper floors.
'I have a feeling I needed to do that.'
Terra turned around and went up the stairs, seeing that he was back into the large hallway leading into the entrance to the music department.
He looked both sides until he noticed that the ink wasn't covering one of the doors on his left side.
This got his attention, causing him to go towards the available room. Once he opened the door, he noticed that there was another lever, this one underneath something labeled pump control.
Figuring that this might help with the ink problem, he pulled the lever down and waited for something to happen.
As he waited, he noticed on the door that Xehanort was standing there, looking at him.
"Xehanort...?!"
Terra's instinct was to go and confront the old Keyblade Master but a part of him halted his movements as he started to remind himself:
'Wait, this could be an imitation.'
As Terra waited for a moment, Xehanort looked at him with a serious facial expression before turning around and leaving off towards the hallway the keyblade wielder had come from.
Even if it could be an illusion, Terra couldn't take the chance, especially with someone like Xehanort.
He ran across the hallway all the way towards the entrance towards the music department, attempting to catch up with Xehanort.
As he was in the room with the music department sign, he felt someone trying to attack him which caused the keyblade wielder to block off the attack from this unknown threat.
At first he assumed it was his illusionation until he heard an unfamiliar voice say to him,
"Don't block my attack! The sheep must sleep!"
"Sheep? What are you even talking about?"
"You must be silenced!"
The unknown person holding a dustpan charged at Terra, trying to land a hit yet all of his attacks were either easily blocked away or easily dodged.
The Keyblade Wielder wasn't sure what to make of this except that this person is a bit crazy. Just as he was going to knock the man out, a couple of neoshadow heartless appeared.
One of them charged directly at him, forcing the keyblade wielder to turn his focus from this unknown man to the neoshadow heartless.
He swiftly moved his keyblade towards the heartless's direction with great speed, managing to eliminate it with one hit.
The other five neoshadow heartless all attempted to jump Terra just as he eliminated one of them.
The keyblade wielder sensed this and quickly jumped away from them, managing to escape their combined attack.
'Even if I can take these heartless out with one hit, that doesn't mean they can't harm me. This world has a strong tie to the darkness, meaning I'll have to be on my guard from here on out.'
With this in mind, he quickly switched out his keyblade from Earthshaker to Ends of the Earth.
Terra wants to make sure his attacks actually do the damage needed to destroy these heartless without any possibility of them recovering.
He waited for the briefest of moments before managing to blitz around all the neoshadow heartless, completely catching them all off guard.
With just a few swings, he was able to eliminate the remaining heartless in the room.
Once this was done, he turned around to confront the person that had randomly attacked him earlier only to see that he was gone.
'Who…was that? What was that about?'
Terra was unsure on how to feel about the situation yet he could sense that Ventus and Aqua were nearby.
He looked at the door leading out of the music department with determination.
'No matter how many times we are separated, we will find ourselves back to one another.'
As Terra thought this, he closed his eyes as he held the wayfinder Aqua had made for him close to his chest.
He recalled all the treasured moments he had with them, giving him the motivation and confidence that he will see them again.
"Let's do this."
"Run to safety!" Aqua shouted at Henry as she charged at the inky creature, taking this opportunity to go on the offensive.
Henry managed to jump safely to the ground, away from the ink.
Once he accomplished this, he started to run out of the ink machine room and back into the hallways only to notice that there was ink all around the area.
'This ink...what were you doing here, Joe?'
Henry slowly started to move around the hallway with caution while he listened to Aqua facing the inky creature, hearing loud explosions and feeling a bit of shaking from the fight.
As he was halfway in the hallway, a few ink creatures popped out of the inky floor.
'What the?!'
Henry noticed that he was being surrounded by the ink creatures, prompting him to start running.
As he was able to barely avoid the attacks, he looked behind him to see that Aqua was sent flying into a wall.
Henry was shocked by this, noticing that Aqua won't survive anymore attacks like that.
'What the hell can I do? I can't just leave her like this! But I would be in her way if I tried to fight that creature.'
Henry felt a strong feeling of frustration, hating how he can't really do much since he is just an ordinary human.
As he was thinking this, something inside his soul prompted him to turn back towards danger with the odds of survival being extremely low.
'She's fighting for my sake, risking her own life to make sure mine is saved. I can't let in good conscience die for my sake!'
With Henry's motivation increased, he ran past the ink creatures once again though this time he managed to punch one of them as hard as he could before reaching Aqua's location.
Once he gets to her, he quickly picks her up and begins running back the way they came from, noticing that the ink creature the Keyblade Wielder was facing has started to chase them.
'Shit! If I get caught by that thing, we are both done for!'
Henry ran and ran with Aqua slowly regaining consciousness. As this happened, she looked around to see that she was being carried away from the fight.
She turned towards Henry's face, seeing that he was the one taking her from safety. Before she could say anything to the man, she sensed something trying to reach them fast.
She turned towards the back to see the dangerous ink creature she was facing rapidly catching up to them.
She quickly summoned her rainfall keyblade to point towards the threat while shouting,
"Blizzaga!"
A powerful wave of ice begins to shoot from the tip of Aqua's keyblade, all of this directed towards the ink creature chasing her and Henry.
As this ice connects to the ink creature's body, it starts to massively slow it down, temporarily immobilizing it.
This gave the two enough time to gain some good distance from it, prompting Henry to try and escape from the way he entered the studio.
"Don't worry Aqua, I'll get us out of here."
"..."
Aqua wasn't sure how to respond to this but before she could even try to stand on her own two feet, the floor suddenly broke which caused Henry and Aqua to start falling to the ground.
'What the hell?! What happened to the floor?!'
Henry looked down to see that he was going to hit the ground with enough force to cause some serious injuries only to be saved by Aqua as she managed to grab him and land to the ground safely.
Once they were on the ground, Henry got on his feet while saying to the Keyblade Master,
"Thank you."
"I should be the one thanking you. You got me to safety."
"Yeah...do you think whatever you did will stop that monster?"
"For now but we should get moving."
"Okay. I'll follow your lead."
Aqua nodded at what Henry had said before turning towards a door, having a feeling that this door will lead them somewhere safe from the ink creature.
She uses her keyblade to open the door in order to enter onto the next room before closing the door and using her keyblade to lock it.
As the two were in a new room, they were both cautious since they didn't know what other threats lay ahead.
The two look around this new room only to see some writing on the wall.
The Creator Lied To Us.
Both Aqua and Henry were unnerved when they saw this, disliking that this place is filled with darkness.
"We will need to find a different path to get you out of here." Aqua said as she broke the silence. Henry turned towards her as he took note of what she said. "I will make sure you don't get hurt."
Henry appreciated this but also felt that he shouldn't just let Aqua do all the work. He looked towards a table nearby to see that there was an axe laying on it.
He walked towards the table and grabbed the axe while telling the Keyblade Master,
"I appreciate the kind words of yours and the protection you have given me but I also don't want you to have to do everything while I stand on the sidelines and watch helplessly."
As he said this, he noticed a door covered with wood, prompting him to chop it down. While he was doing this, he continued to tell his ally,
"I'll do my best to be useful."
Aqua was surprised by what she heard, seeing how motivated Henry was to be useful in a fight.
She just nodded at him before the two started to move towards the hallway that was created thanks to Henry's efforts.
The two walked through the small hallway before arriving at the door covered with wood.
'Why the hell are these doors locked in such a way?'
Henry questioned as he used the axe he just acquired to break it off before opening the door. Just as he opened the door, the two looked at the empty room.
As the two were walking in together with their guards up, they felt a chilling aura around.
In the room they were just entering, they noticed a couple of coffins around while also seeing a couple of candles on the ground with the drawn circle.
'This place is very...disturbing...'
Aqua thought this with a bit of fear in her heart, not having felt this since being trapped in the realm of darkness for over a decade.
Henry himself kept his cool but he was distrubed by what he was seeing.
'What did you do here, Joey?'
The two continued to walk deeper into the room, only to end up having some flashes of memories happen to the two.
Aqua was recalling the loneliness she had felt before meeting Ansem the Wise and after her confrontation with Ansem the seeker of darkness.
Henry was disoriented since he could see flashes of many different things such as the ink machine itself, a wheel chair that's empty, and a dark inky creatures.
'What is...going...on...?'
Both Aqua and Henry were starting to get dizzy to the point that they both collapsed to the ground, Henry completely confused and Aqua filled with fear.
As the two hit the ground, they lost consciousness. As everything was dark, Aqua's last vision before her mind had blanked out was a dark version of her, smiling at her.
Ventus was welcomed into Borris's safehouse, seeing this as an opportunity to rest for a bit before looking for his friends.
As he was welcomed to Borris's place, he put away his keyblade and took a moment to explore the place.
Although a few places of the safehouse were dripping ink, it didn't seem like it was going to be in any kind of danger.
As he concluded this, he turned towards the closest seat and just sat down. While he was resting, he took this opportunity to speak with the interesting creature.
"So...this is the place you live?"
"..." Borris just looked at him before giving the boy a nod.
"Okay. So you don't speak..." Ventus whispered underneath his breath, making a mental note on it.
'He doesn't seem hostile or contains any darkness in him. So I know that I can trust him.'
Borris just looked at him before moving towards another area of the safehouse.
While he did something, Ventus crossed his arms as he thought to himself all of the events that had currently transpired. He had noticed that the world was filled with a strange darkness.
Not only that but also seeing Vanitas again made him extremely concerned for Aqua and Terra's safety.
'I know they can handle themselves...but I still worry that Vanitas will do something to them.'
As Ventus was about to go off to resume his search for his missing friends, Borris had been cooking up something for his new guest.
Although the creature would prefer someone else to cook his food, he somehow felt that he should feed this boy, having noticed his concerned face.
He set a bowl of soup in front of the keyblade wielder before going off to sit down next to him with his own bowl of soup.
Ventus was a bit surprised by this, not having expected Borris to cook something up. He turned towards the creature before nodding at him with gratitude while also saying,
"Thank you."
Borris just gave the boy a nod before proceeding to eat his food.
Ventus proceeded to eat the soup, noticing that it isn't some special dish yet he ate it with appreciation, knowing that Borris was thoughtful enough to give him food.
As the two were eating, all Ventus could think about was his friends and how they could be possibly doing in such an odd yet dark world.
'Aqua...Terra...please be okay.'
The room was silent for the next few minutes as the two were finishing up their bowls of soup. Once this happened, Ventus got up and bowed at Borris before turning his attention towards a door with no lever.
'Is that the way out?'
He turned towards Borris, noticing that he's just calmly sitting down.
"Borris, I want to ask if you can help me find my friends? We were separated when we arrived at this place."
"..."
"...I could use your help, please."
Ventus couldn't tell what Borris was thinking yet he was hoping that the creature would lend his assistance.
Borris stood silent with his expressionless face for a brief moment before getting up and going to the other side of the table to grab a large toolbox.
Ventus was unsure what Borris was doing until he saw what was inside the large toolbox, a lever.
"Oh. Is that for the door?"
Borris nodded at Ventus before handing him the lever.
The Keyblade Wielder grabbed the lever from Borris before making his way towards the door.
As he approached the door, he used the lever to have it open before leaving the safehouse.
As the keyblade wielder was leaving, Borris followed behind.
The two walk around the hallways for a bit before the two encounter a room that was pitch dark.
"It's too dark...let me brighten things up."
He pointed his Wayward Wind keyblade at the darkness before firing a small ball of light to shine the way for him and his new ally.
"There we go, now we don't have to walk in pure darkness."
Borris nodded at what Ventus said before the two started to go into the next room.
While they were entering, Ventus made a note on how there was a lot of machinery being worked and a lot of ink dripping down from the ceiling from many different locations.
'This world looks abandoned...could it be that the people that were once here had left?'
With this in mind, both Ventus and Borris had found themselves in a dead end. As they were going to turn around to go another path, the door behind them had locked.
"That's not good."
Ventus looked around the room in hopes that he could somehow find a way to open any of the two doors, Borris looked at the vent for a moment before turning on his light and going into the vents alone.
Ventus had not realized this until he turned towards Borris to ask if he had any ideas on how they could get out of there.
"Hey, I don't think I can find us a way out of here—hey! Where did you go?"
Ventus notices the vent, making him think that he probably needs to follow his ally only to hear a door open.
This got his attention, prompting him to get his guard up for a moment. Once the door fully opened, he noticed that past the dripping ink in the middle of the hallway was a wall.
This wall in front of him had the face of a cartoon character with an odd smile.
Ventus was unsure at first if he should continue on his own or if he should continue on since he wanted to make sure Borris was okay.
Before he could come up with a decision, he suddenly noticed something pass by the door behind him.
At first he wasn't sure what it was until he saw the unversed symbol on the mask of the thing phasing from the door.
"Vanitas!"
He followed Vanitas all the way until he arrived in a room where there was a sign saying
Heavenly Toys.
'Where did he go?!'
Ventus was a bit frustrated that he had lost Vanitas though he was a bit confused by the area he was in.
There were a lot of cardboards of a specific character before noticing a stuffed toy of Borris.
'There's a toy Borris...what exactly is this place? It's nothing like the normal worlds in the realm of light but it also isn't anything normal to the realm of darkness.'
Having thought this, he started to look around in hopes of either finding his friends and ally or encountering what seems to be Vanitas.
He walked around for a bit before noticing on the second floor that there's a door yet it was blocked by a shelf of toys.
Although this wasn't his usual go to, he used his keyblade to break through the barrier in order to reach the door.
As he was opening the door, the atmosphere immediately turned dark.
He sensed that something extremely dark was nearby, more specifically past the glass showing a door with a sign above the glass saying
She's quite the girl.
He looked around the room and noticed that there was a cardboard of a woman with a halo on her head.
He walked around with his keyblade in hand, a bit nervous.
As he was in the middle of the room, the lights had suddenly gone off with the TVs around the area turning on with the face of the cartoon woman.
Ventus took note of the song that was being played:
I'm the cutest little angel
Sent from above
And i know just how to swing
I got a bright little halo
And i'm filled with love pop i'm Alice angel !
I'm the hit of the party
I'm the belle of the ball
I'm the toast of every town
Just one little dance and you'll know i'll fall
pop i'm alice angel
I ain't no flapper i'm a classy dish
And boy can this girl sing
This gal can grant your every wish !
Halfway through the song, a dressing room door had lightened up which caused the keyblade wielder to be on his guard.
He tried to summon his armor yet it wouldn't come out, making the Keyblade Wielder worry for a moment.
Once the song was reaching its end, someone resembling Alice only in a more inky twisted form banged on the window as she was shouting,
"I'M ALIVE ANGEL!"
The room went dark for a moment with Ventus staying in his defensive position, prepared for anything this new person might try.
As the room stayed silent for a few more seconds, the woman started to speak in a more intimidating tone of voice,
"I see you there, a new fly in my endless web. You are different from the others, you don't look like anything that came from this place...anyway, come along now. Let's see if you're worthy to walk with angles."
Once the lights had returned, the window was broken with Ventus having sustained no damage.
He was concerned that whatever had broken the window was someone filled with darkness.
He turned towards his left side to see that there was a new pathway opened for him.
Although this is possibly a trap, Ventus couldn't help but feel like this would help lead him to either Terra, Aqua, or Borris.
He followed the path for a few seconds until he came across a wall that had two signs with two separate hallways, one pointing towards the left saying The Demon and the other pointing towards the right saying The Angel.
"Well isn't that interesting."
Ventus turned to the all familiar voice. He turned around to see Vanitas once again though this time in his red color attire with his mask broken like it was on the keyblade graveyard when he disappeared.
"Vanitas!"
"It's been a while, brother."
As Vanitas said this, he walked towards the sign, prompting Ven to prepare for a fight.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm only here because you are here."
"What does that supposed to mean?!"
"Hm..." Vanitas continued to observe the area before looking back at Ventus. "You are really ignorant, aren't you?"
"..."
Ventus was fed up with Vanitas at this point, causing him to quickly charge at him. As he swung his keyblade, Vanitas blocked it with his own keyblade.
"You think this would make a difference? Pathetic."
Without any effort, he pushed away Ventus's attack before teleporting behind the boy.
"You should really pay attention to your surroundings." Ventus swung his keyblade once again only to see that his opponent wasn't there.
He was on high alert yet Vanitas continued to speak, "This world isn't what it seems."
Ventus once again swung his keyblade at the direction of Vanitas's voice only for once again to see that he swung at empty air.
He looked around until he saw that Vanitas was floating above the sigh in the middle of the wall.
"What are you talking about?!"
"...you'll see. But what interests me more is what path you will take. The one of the angel or the one of the devil."
Once Vanitas finished speaking, he floated into the wall and disappeared. Ventus was left a bit angry to see that Vanitas was back to his usual self.
He looked at both paths before making his choice, knowing that he needed to hurry and find Terra, Aqua, and Borris.
