The Juice-y Bar

To say that Lance found the restaurant's appellation of "The Juice-y Bar" to be odd, would be a statement of the obvious. True, juice bars were something that very much existed, but he could only wonder why "The Juice-y Bar"?

Sitting at a table with Rikki, Lance looked around. There were people of all ages, even an elderly couple eating soup together… An elderly couple he could have sworn were his neighbours from across the street. He just hoped they did not want to talk or anything like that. Was that something neighbours did? He never really talked with his own neighbours back at his old house, but his parents would.

Feeling Rikki tap on his shoulder, Lance looked over to her as a blonde waitress who was their age approached. "Emma, this is Lance." Rikki said, introducing the two. "We met earlier today, he is new in town, so we are getting to know each other."

Lance gave a small wave, to which Emma said "Pleased to meet you." before asking: "The usual, Rikki?"

"Yes, please."

"And what about you, Lance?"

"I'll have an ice tea, please." Lance answered.

As Emma walked off to get their orders, Lance turned to Rikki and asked: "So, she works here and another friend works at the Oceanic Center, so, where do you work?"

"Nowhere." Replied Rikki, placing an elbow on the table and holding her face in her hand. "Though I am looking at some places."

"Like where?" inquired Lance. The first question that popped into his head was "teen model" and he was certain if he asked that, Rikki would in turn probably ask if he was flirting with her. Still, why was that the first thought to pop into his head? That wasn't even a place!

"Oh, a couple of stores." Rikki said. "What about you? Seen any places that catch your interest?"

Raising an eyebrow for a moment, Lance thought of what places he had seen. Besides the comic store, there hadn't been much of other places he had seen. Ultimately, he answered: "Just one, but I think I might look around town a bit more."

When Emma returned with their drinks, Lance suddenly found himself being questioned again, this time with Emma, while placing the drinks on the table, asking: "How do you like Dolphin City so far, Lance?"

Lance was not sure what to say. Could he just say the obvious? That seemed too simple and yet, in life, the simplest thing to say was the best thing to say. He said "It is a nice place", all while omitting his hope that something fantastic like the Dolphin City Triangle would happen. If he were to say something like that he might get odd looks.
