Chapter Three

The Police house was in an uproar with laughter and taunting as the Detective Murdoch, Constable Crabtree and Christina all walked in after examining the body at the crime scene.

"Murdoch!" Inspector Brackenreid barked as he strolled into the lobby from his office and met up with the three before they passed the main desk. "What is this about an infant killing someone just outside of town?"

"Sir, I-" Detective Murdoch started but Christina cleared her throat.

"Pardon me, Inspector but this isn't an infant killing someone," Christina could see the older man's face start to grow more red as she took in a breath and continued. "This is a newly formed vampire. A vampire without anyone to tell them how to hunt, or to contain their blood lust."

"Are you barken?" Brackenreid asked his hands moving to his hips defiantly. "Or are you just as sod headed as this lot?" He mentioned to Crabtree and the other Constables as they stood around pretending not to notice the yelling that was happening just a few feet away from them.

"I'm not barken and I'm not a sod head." Christina said her voice growing with anger but keeping it in check. "I'm telling you from experience."

"Is that right?" Brackenreid said with a slight nod as if challenging Christina to continue.

"It is. It's what me and my brothers do for a living. Killing monsters that harm the innocent. And judging by the way that woman was treated, I'm sure that you'll need my expertise before you loose more civilians, constables or worse your families."

Something snapped in Brackenreid's head as he looked at Christina's face searching for any sign of deceit but her eyes were staring into his and there wasn't anything to ease that fear inside the older man. "Very well. Do what you can. But I won't have you talking out of turn from now on."

"Yes, sir." Christina said as she moved passed him to follow Detective Murdoch into his office.

"You should find it wise not to raise his heart rate. His wife will murder everyone here if she found out he had a heart attack." Murdoch said as he placed his hat on his desk.

"He should learn to listen to those around him instead of just order everyone around." Christina said just as evenly as she walked to the blackboard and began to write down everything she knew about the crime scene. "Now that we know what did this I need your help in killing it before it kills again."

"Wait you need to kill this vampire?" Murdoch asked surprised as Christina had suggested this action so calm.

"Yes." Christina said evenly. "Detective I can tell you're a man of god judging by how you did the symbol after you saw that woman. But this creature is not something you want free in the open let alone in a prison. There will be more deaths and many more vampires if that happens."

"We'll just stop them from biting people to change them." Murdoch suggested quickly knowing he had a similar case just a little while ago.

"You don't get changed by the bite of the vampire, Detective." Christina said her eyes staring into his. "The Vampire has to feed it's blood to their intended target. We have to find the vampire before he or she makes a nest and wipes out this entire city." She took in a deep sigh before glancing over at the board seeing everything that she had written down.

"So how do we charge this killer?" Detective Murdoch asked seeing as Christina was plotting something.

"We can't charge and arrest the killer Detective." Christina said her voice grave and serious. "We'll have to behead and burn the bodies. As much as a god fearing man you are, Detective it's something I would have to deal with everyday as my brothers and I hunt...only this time it's going to be harder as I don't have access to any of my resources." She sighed and glanced up at the ceiling before closing her eyes gently. Her mouth slowly began to move up and down as she looked like she was praying.

Detective Murdoch watched in reverent silenced as he watched her pray quietly. "What would you like my help with?" He asked seeing her eyes open and let out a sigh in disappointment.

"I'd like it if you'll see if you can find any abandoned properties near the crime scene and tell me where I can procure a machete." She said bluntly looking at the man directly into the eyes. "Also I will need to see the body again to see if I can find any other clues."

Detective Murdoch didn't question the young woman that stood in front of his blackboard. He silently nodded and went to talk to a few of the Constables that weren't busy and sighed. His inner turmoil of this woman suggesting to kill someone was fighting back his religious beliefs but when he saw that the woman was leaving he decided it was best to follow her in case she did something else. When she was simply heading to the Morgue next door he relaxed a bit.

"Constable...Winchester?" Dr. Ogden said with an unsure smile as the young woman walked in setting her Constable helmet on the counter inside the small office.

"Yes it is." Christina smiled and walked over to Julia and carefully shook her hand. "But you can call me Christina if you'd like. My brothers even call me Christy so it's easier instead of trying to remember my last name."

Dr. Ogden chuckled and they talked quietly until Detective Murdoch walked in. "Julia." He said with a soft smile. "Any new discoveries on the body?"

"There is actually." Julia said with a grin. "It appears to be a fang." She grinned again and handed Detective Murdoch a small glass plate and the Detective took it carefully.

"It's actually a tooth." Christina said careful not to make anyone mad. "It's quite a common misconception on vampires. You see, the teeth retract from the gums." She silently asked Detective Murdoch for the plate which he gave without much fuss. Dr. Ogden watched in fascination as the woman she had just met briefly the night before acted so knowledgeable with what she was saying. "The tooth must have broken off by a bone in the neck or clavicle which happened during the attack. But I'm not the Doctor which will be you and I'm sorry for speaking out of turn."

"I don't mind it at all." Dr. Ogden chuckled giving Christina a soft smile. "In fact I was going to mention the as for mentioned tooth and the small mark on the clavicle bone which at first I thought it was from a knife." She lead the two to the body and pointed at a small gauge through the bone a few inches short of where the throat used to be. "The woman quite possibly didn't know what happened until it was too late. I'm thinking this woman was with someone who she trusted."

"That would make sense as you said she didn't put up much of a fight." Detective Murdoch said handing the tooth back to Dr. Ogden. "But why now?"

"If I may," Christina said careful injecting her voice between the two. "The attack happened last night...the same night I showed up. My guess whoever or whatever brought me here to this time also made it so a Vampire was created." She took in a slow breath and glanced at the woman. "She must have been attacked around eleven last night and seeing how vicious that bite wound is, she most likely died from the massive blood loss."

"That's correct." Dr. Ogden said looking pleased there was someone else who understood her job. "Have you done this before?"

"Not professionally." Christina admitted with a sideways grin. "But when you're a hunter you need to understand and sometimes pretend to be a doctor so we can access patients and read up on what had happened." She glanced at Detective Murdoch who looked like he was fighting to arrest her with impersonation charges but Christina nodded softly. "I understand what you're going through. Don't worry, I'll stay with my profession as a Constable as long as I need to."

"Thank you." Detective Murdoch said starting to look a little at ease. "Thank you Julia for the report...or for helping me understand...but I think it best we have someone take you home at night."

"I'd very much like that William." Dr. Ogden said grinning and Christina could see a slight color on the Doctor's cheeks.

"I'll take her home, Detective as I'm more accustomed to the dangers and this way your Constables can stay a bit safe out there."

Detective Murdoch smiled and nodded liking the fact Dr. Ogden was in safe hands. He couldn't help but notice the small glint in her eyes as she walked towards the exit as if she was planning something. He only hoped she wouldn't put Dr. Ogden at risk.

Dean only stopped for gas and something quick to eat wanting to get to Bobby's house quickly but also not liking that he left their sister in god knows where by herself. But when he didn't even have an idea where she was he would take any help when he could.

"Dean..." Sam's voice snapped Dean out of his own funk about beating himself up for leaving his sister in a place they had no idea where she was. But when Sam's voice started to talk he turned and looked at him for a minute before looking back. "Do you think this has to do with a creature we ticked off?"

"Who knows." Dean said his voice uncertain but part of him believed that could be the reason. "We'll try and ask Cas when we get to Bobby's."

"Ask me what?" Castiel's gravely voice sounded from behind them.

"Damnit Cas!" Dean yelled as he swerved and nearly hit a cop in the opposite lane that unsurprisingly flipped around turned their lights on. Dean shot a dark glare at Castiel who looked confused but didn't say anything as Dean calmly pulled over. The officer slowed behind and took a few minutes to run Dean's license plate before he walked over to the window and knocked on the glass. Dean slowly rolled down the window his license and registration already for this.

"I'm not here to write you a ticker sir," the officer said looking at the two passengers before looking back at Dean. "I wanted to make sure you were alright. Since you swerved in my lane."

"Yeah, sorry. Just came back from Toronto with my brother and...friend and I guess I didn't sleep well as I thought I saw something flash in my lane. Very sorry about that officer."

"Glad to see you and everyone is alright. Just drive safe and if you need to rest there's a hotel not far from here. Cheap rates and free continental breakfast that's about ten miles down this road."

"Might look into that. Thanks." Dean smiled and watched as the officer walked away. When the lights turned off Dean slowly pulled out making sure that he wasn't speeding until he was away from the officer.

"I'm sorry, Dean." Castiel said sincerely as Dean hopped back onto the freeway. He looked around the small car and wondered if Christina wasn't with them as the vehicle was small that their sister couldn't be hiding. "Where's Christina?"

"That's why we needed to talk to you." Sam said seeing as Dean wasn't capable of speaking of what happened just a short while ago.

"Is she alright?" Castiel was concerned for the youngest Winchester as he was concerned for all of them.

"She's missing. We just don't know where." Dean finally spoke his worry about his sister. "We're heading to Bobby as he got something from her that will hopefully be able to find out where she is and find a way to get her home." Castiel started to blank out as he seemed to turn to where they had just gone. "Cas, what's going on?"

"She's praying to me." He said before a honk from a car in the opposite flashed their lights causing both Dean and Sam to curse and quickly pull off the road. But when they turned around Castiel had vanished leaving a note that said, 'Meet you at Bobby's'.

The Hunt is on as Christina is now needing to try and find this vampire but also must hope she still keeps her new job. While she is trying to figure out who and where this vampire is, Sam and Dean are trying to figure out who took their sister and where their she could be.
