Happy Thanksgiving my American viewers, and hello to everyone else!
Here is the appendix for the characters, both canon and OC, so far from the beginning of the story in 129 AC to Rhaenyra's Tenth Year Tourney in 139 AC. If you have any questions, or see anything that I may have missed, please let me know. The idea for the appendix was suggested by both Shockeye 7665 and the Guest reviewer who posted on September 20th. Thanks for the idea you two. Anyway, for those of you who do read the books, I know that my appendix is far more wordy than what is written G.R.R. Martin.
I like details, and so I have added them with some summarization. Doc Manager does not provide bullet points, so the characters have been organized first by what noble house, faction, or land they come from. There is a lot of characters here, both integral to the plot and very minor for background as well as ones who will become important later on. Most of the birth and death dates are made up for the canon characters and dragons. If you have any questions, let me know.
Enjoy!
Author's Note: Some profanity in the House Peake section.
House Targaryen of King's Landing (Blacks)
I. Rhaenyra I Targaryen (b. 97 AC): The current ruler of Westeros. She is the first queen regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, and the sixth Targaryen monarch to sit on the Iron Throne. Rhaenyra is the daughter of King Viserys I Targaryen and his first wife and cousin, Queen Aemma Arryn. She is their only surviving child together. Rhaenyra's retention of her title as Princess of Dragonstone despite having three younger half-brothers as well as her ascension as queen in 129 AC is the main source of friction between the Blacks and Greens.
She is both the third wife and niece of King Daemon Targaryen. Rhaenyra I rides the dragon Syrax. The queen is the proud and doting mother of six children: Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon, and Aegon the Younger, Viserys, and Visenya Targaryen. Married twice, the father of Rhaenyra's first three children was (purportedly) her late first husband and second cousin, Ser Laenor Velaryon, and the father of her youngest three children is her current spouse. Rhaenyra is both the first cousin and stepmother of Daemon's twin daughters from his second marriage: Baela and Rhaena Targaryen.
The queen currently, as of the fourth moon of 139 AC, has nine living grandchildren from the marriages of her three oldest sons: Baelor, Alyssa, and Aelyx Targaryen; Alysanne, Laena, Megaera, and Corlys Velaryon, and Aeric and Daemion Targaryen. Rhaenyra is the hated former stepdaughter of Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower, and is the older half-sister of Aegon the Elder, Helaena, Aemond, and Daeron Targaryen.
II. Daemon Targaryen (b. 81 AC): The current consort of Westeros. He is the first king consort of the Seven Kingdoms. Daemon is the second born son of Prince Baelon Targaryen and his younger sister-wife, Princess Alyssa Targaryen. He had two brothers, one older, King Viserys I Targaryen, and one younger, Prince Aegon Targaryen. Daemon has outlived both of his brothers.
He is the uncle/second husband of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen. Daemon wields the Valyrian Steel short-sword Dark Sister, and rides the dragon Caraxes. He lost his left eye to Lord Willam Royce during the Trial by Seven at Gulltown in 134 AC, and he now wears an eyepatch over his left eye socket. The king is the loving and doting father of five living children: twins Baela and Rhaena, Aegon the Younger, Viserys, and Visenya Targaryen. Married thrice, Daemon had no children with his hated first wife, Lady Rhea Royce, he had his twin daughters by his second wife and first cousin once removed, Lady Laena Velaryon (they also had a son together who died when he was only an hour old during the first few days of 120 AC), and the mother of Daemon's three youngest children is his current spouse.
Daemon was once the lover of Mysaria, and they had conceived a child together that was later lost to a miscarriage in 105 AC. Rumor has it that the Rogue Prince had taken the virginity of Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower before she married his own older brother in 106 AC! The king is both the granduncle and stepfather of Rhaenyra I's three sons from her first marriage: Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon. Daemon currently has seven living grandchildren from the marriages of his twin daughters: Baelor, Alyssa, and Aelyx Targaryen, and Alysanne, Laena, Megaera, and Corlys Velaryon. He is also the great-granduncle/step-grandfather of Joff's two sons: Aeric and Daemion Targaryen.
Daemon is the uncle of his late older brother's children by Alicent: Aegon the Elder, Helaena, Aemond, and Daeron Targaryen.
III. Rhaenys Targaryen (b. 74 AC): The famous Queen Who Never Was. She is the first cousin of King Daemon Targaryen, and the first cousin once removed and former mother-in-law of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen. Rhaenys is the daughter of Prince Aemon Targaryen and his half-aunt/wife, Lady Jocelyn Baratheon. She was considered to be a strong candidate to inherit the Iron Throne twice in 92 AC and in 101 AC, but was passed over both times in favor of her Uncle Baelon and his oldest son, her cousin, Viserys I, due to her sex. The princess is the widow of Lord Corlys Velaryon, and is the former Lady of the Tides. Rhaenys and Corlys were actually second cousins once removed since the Sea Snake was the second cousin of his wife's father, Prince Aemon Targaryen.
The princess had two children with Corlys: Laena and Laenor Velaryon. Tragically, the couple outlived both their beloved daughter and son during the Red Spring in 120 AC. Rhaenys is the loving grandmother of five living grandchildren: Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon, and twins Baela and Rhaena Targaryen. She is the great-grandmother of Baelor, Alyssa, and Aelyx Targaryen; Alysanne, Laena, Megaera, and Corlys Velaryon, and Aeric and Daemion Targaryen. The Queen Who Never Was resides at High Tide with Luke and Rhaena and their children, and she occasionally visits the Red Keep to see her other grandchildren and great-grandchildren there.
She might also be the paternal grandmother of the former Hull Brothers, Addam and Alyn Velaryon, if the rumors of her son Laenor having an affair with Marilda of Hull are true. However, Rhaenys is most likely the men's stepmother instead because her late husband was known to frequently visit the shipyard where Marilda lived. Rhaenys rides the dragon Meleys.
IV. Viserys I Targaryen (b. 77 AC - d. 129 AC): The fifth Targaryen king. He is both the father and predecessor of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, and the older brother/father-in-law of King Daemon Targaryen. Viserys was the firstborn son and child of Prince Baelon and Princess Alyssa Targaryen. He had two younger brothers: Daemon and Aegon Targaryen. Viserys I was the fourth and last rider of Balerion the Black Dread before the great beast died from natural causes due to old age in 92 AC.
Married twice, the Young King fathered Rhaenyra I on his first wife and cousin, Queen Aemma Arryn, along with two sons, the youngest being Baelon, who both died in the cradle. He had four healthy children by his second wife, Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower: Aegon the Elder, Helaena, Aemond, and Daeron Targaryen. Viserys I's stubborn refusal to strip Rhaenyra of her rank as Princess of Dragonstone following the birth of her half-brothers is the main cause of the ongoing conflict in the story. As of the fourth moon of 139 AC, sixteen grandchildren have been born to King Viserys I Targaryen from both his marriages: Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon; Aegon the Younger, Viserys, Visenya, twins Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, and Maelor Targaryen; three bastard grandchildren (one girl, one boy, one unknown), Lydus Rivers, and Saera, Valerion, and Aeryn Targaryen. Eleven great-grandchildren have also been born to the Young King at this time too: Baelor, Alyssa, and Aelyx Targaryen; Alysanne, Laena, Megaera, and twins Corwyn and Corlys Velaryon; Aeric, Daemion, and Maegelle Targaryen.
Viserys is both the uncle and step-grandfather of twins Baela and Rhaena Targaryen, and the grandfather and step-uncle of the Velaryon Princes thanks to his younger brother and oldest daughter being married to each other. King Viserys I Targaryen died from health complications that stemmed both from him being obese and from lingering issues following the amputation of two of his fingers in 126 AC.
V. Baelon Targaryen (b. 105 AC - d. 105 AC): The younger full-blooded brother of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen. He was the youngest son born from the marriage of King Viserys I Targaryen and Queen Aemma Arryn. Baelon's namesake was his paternal grandfather, Prince Baelon the Brave. Sadly, Aemma died bringing her son into the world, and the newborn Baelon followed his mother to the grave the day after he was born... The prince's scheming uncle, a then Prince Daemon Targaryen, celebrated his death since he believed that he was going to be named as the heir to the throne due to the lack of other available male heirs at that time.
Daemon even had the audacity to toast his dead infant nephew as the "Heir for a Day." News of the Rogue Prince's cold-heartedness soon reached his greiving older brother, which infuriated him, and caused Viserys I to name his daughter, a then Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, as his heir to the throne in light of Baelon's death to punish Daemon.
The Velaryon Princes
I. Jacaerys Velaryon (b. 114 AC): The Prince of Dragonstone, and the current Hand of the Queen. He is the firstborn son from Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen's marriage to her second cousin/first husband, Ser Laenor Velaryon. Jacaerys has two younger brothers: Lucerys and Joffrey Velaryon, and three younger half-siblings from his mother's second marriage to King Daemon Targaryen: Aegon, Viserys, and Visenya Targaryen. The crown prince also has two stepsister's from Daemon's second marriage: twins Baela and Rhaena Targaryen. Jace is married to Princess Baela Targaryen, and they have three children together: Baelor, Alyssa, and Aelyx Targaryen.
Rumor has at that Jace and his younger brothers are actually the lovechildren of Rhaenyra and her sworn shield, Ser Harwin Strong. He rides the dragon Vermax, and wields the Valyrian Steel great-sword Blackfyre. Jacaerys is the most popular of his mother's children, and he is an able Hand with a promising future as a great and effective king. He is the one who organized the powerful matches between the Four Storms and the powerful lords of the realm. Jace is two weeks older than his half-uncle, Prince Daeron Targaryen.
II. Lucerys Velaryon (b. 115 AC): The current Lord of the Tides and Master of Driftmark. He is the second born son from Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen's marriage to Ser Laenor Velaryon. Lucerys has two brothers: Prince Jacaerys Velaryon (older), and Prince Joffrey Velaryon (younger); three younger half-siblings from his mother's second husband, King Daemon Targaryen: Aegon, Viserys, and Visenya Targaryen. Lord Velaryon also has a pair of twin cousin/stepsisters from Daemon's second marriage: Baela and Rhaena Targaryen. Luke is married to Princess Rhaena Targaryen, and they have four living children together: Alysanne, Laena, Megaera, and Corlys Velaryon.
He did have another son named Prince Corwyn Velaryon who was stillborn. Rumor has it that Luke and his brothers are the bastard sons of Rhaenyra I and Ser Harwin Strong. He rides the dragon Arrax. Lucerys is a talented swordsman. He was the one who cut out the right eye of his hated half-uncle, Prince Aemond Targaryen, in 120 AC during a fight. The Master of Driftmark is well-respected for his decency and fairness on the island that he rules over.
III. Joffrey Velaryon (b. 117 AC): The newly appointed Master of Laws and Lord Justiciar. He is the third born son from Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen's marriage to Ser Laenor Velaryon, and he is Laenor's youngest child. Joffrey has two older brothers: Jacaerys and Lucerys Velaryon, three younger half-siblings from Rhaenyra's second marriage to is Granduncle Daemon: Aegon, Viserys, and Visenya Targaryen. Joff also has two stepsister's from his stepfather's previous marriage: twins Baela and Rhaena Targaryen. He is married to Lady Nell Beesbury, and they have two sons together: Aeric and Daemion Targaryen.
The couple did have a daughter together named Maegelle who was born in 138 AC, but she tragically died from a cradle death when she was only three months old... Rumor has it that Joffrey and his older brothers are baseborn, and that their true father is Ser Harwin Strong. He is the rider of Tyraxes. Joff is starting to fit into his new position on his mother's small council.
The Twin Princesses
I. Baela Targaryen (b. 116 AC): The willful, fierce, and temperamental intended future Queen of Westeros. She is the firstborn daughter from King Daemon Targaryen's marriage to his first cousin once removed/second wife, Lady Laena Velaryon. Baela is the twin sister of Rhaena. They had a younger full-blooded brother who died shortly after being born, and they have three younger half-siblings from their father's marriage to his third wife, Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen: Aegon, Viserys, and Visenya Targaryen. Baela has three stepbrothers from her cousin/stepmother's first marriage: Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon.
She is married to Prince Jacaerys Velaryon, and they have three children together: Baelor, Alyssa, and Aelyx Targaryen. Baela rides the dragon Moondancer. Wild during her youth, Baela has settled down a bit due to motherhood, and especially so after the incident during the wedding at the Eyrie in 134 AC... Baela and Rhaena were born in Pentos.
II. Rhaena Targaryen (b. 116 AC): The graceful, lovely, and gentle Lady of the Tides. She is the second born daughter from King Daemon Targaryen's marriage to Lady Laena Velaryon, and she is Laena's youngest living child. Rhaena is the twin sister of Baela. They had a baby brother who died during his first hour of life, but thankfully have three living half-siblings from their father's third marriage to their first cousin, Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen: Aegon, Viserys, and Visenya Targaryen. Rhaena has three stepbrothers from her cousin's first marriage: Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon.
She is married to Prince Lucerys Velaryon, and they have four living children together: Alysanne, Laena, Megaera, and Corlys Velaryon. Rhaena had given birth to a pair of twin sons a month early late in 134 AC, but sadly, the firstborn twin, Corwyn, was stillborn... The princess rides the dragon Morning. Rhaena and Baela were born in Pentos.

The prince has five older half-siblings from his mother and father's previous marriages: Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon, and twins Baela and Rhaena Targaryen. Aegon is referred as "Aegon the Younger" to tell him apart from his half-uncle, Rhaenyra I's half-brother, Prince Aegon the Elder.
He rides the dragon Stormcloud. Aegon is happily married to Lady Thea Celtigar, but sadly, they have been unable to have any living children of their own yet due to Thea suffering from three miscarriages so far...

The prince is Rhaenyra's least-liked half-sibling, and Aemond in turn nurtures a deep hatred for both his half-sister and her family. Aemond especially loathes the queen's second born son, Prince Lucerys Velaryon, after he cut out his right eye during a fight in High Tide's courtyard in 120 AC when they were boys; a sapphire serves as a fake eye for Aemond, and he is known as "Aemond One-Eye".

Jaehaerys is married to his twin sister, and they are currently expecting their firstborn child together, who is due to be born late in the twelfth moon of 139 AC. Due to royal inbreeding, Jaehaerys is a polydactyl, and he has a second pinkie finger on his left hand, and a sixth toe on each foot. He ridest he dragon Shrykos. Jaehaerys was named after his great-great-grandfather, King Jaehaerys I Targaryen.

Jaehaera is the twin sister of Jaehaerys, and they have a younger brother named Maelor. They have three bastard half-siblings from Aegon's affairs. The princess has three companions: Ladies Thea Celtigar, Myrine Darklyn, and Falena Stokeworth.
Jaehaera is married to her twin brother, and she is currently pregnant with their first child together. She has autism, and possesses a mosty quiet and reserved nature because of it. Some people think that Jaehaera is a simpleton due to her odd behavior, but she has opened up more thanks to the friendship she has with her ladies-in-waiting. The princess rides the dragon Morghul.
III. Maelor Targaryen (b. 127 AC): The second trueborn son of Prince Aegon the Elder by Princess Helaena Targaryen. He is his father's third born son, his mother's second; Maelor is his parents youngest child together. The prince has two older full-blooded siblings: twins Jaehaerys and Jaehaera. Their mother is the harpist who entertained the captive Greens during the coronation of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen. Neither the name or current status of the child is known. If the child is male, then he would be Aegon's fourth born son, and if they are female, then she would be her father's second born daughter.
Aemond and Alys's Child
I. Lydus Rivers (b. 130 AC): The bastard son of Prince Aemond Targaryen and his mistress, Alys Rivers. He is the firstborn child of his father, the only surviving child of his mother, who had suffered from several stillbirths in the past. Lydus lives with his parents at the Hightower in Oldtown. His grandmother, Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower, ignores him in favor of his trueborn cousins by his Uncle Daeron: Saera, Valerion, and Aeryn Targaryen. This is a source of anger for Lydus's father.

II. Meteor (b. 131 AC): The dragon who is bound to Prince Maelor Targaryen. He has grey scales with blue wing membranes and eyes. Meteor's egg was grey with sapphire flecks. He got his name since he hatched during a meteor shower.
III. Morghul (b. 126 AC): The dragon who is ridden by Princess Jaehaera Targaryen. He has cyan blue body scales, white belly scales and wing membranes with visible black veins on them, and pale blue eyes. Morghul's sex and coloring are unknown in-canon.

Vhagar has pale grey scales and white wing membranes that are nicked and scarred from arrows and spears that were thrown at her by the enemies of House Targaryen during their Conquest of Westeros from 2 BC to 1 AC. Aemond is Vhagar's fourth recorded rider: her first known rider being the prince's great-great-great-grandaunt, Queen Visenya Targaryen; her second being Aemond's paternal grandfather, Prince Baelon Targaryen; and her third being Aemond One-Eye's second cousin, Lady Laena Velaryon. Vhagar once comprised the trio of dragons that were used to conquer the Seven Kingdoms, the other two being Balerion and Meraxes.
She was named after a goddess of Old Valyria.
Mentioned Past Targaryen's
I. Jaehaerys I Targaryen (b. 34 AC - d. 103 AC): The fourth Targaryen king. He is considered to be the greatest monarch from his dynasty to ever sit on the Iron Throne. Jaehaerys I was the third born son of King Aenys I Targaryen and his second cousin-wife, Queen Alyssa Velaryon. Ruling alongside Jaehaerys was his beloved younger sister-wife, Queen Alysanne Targaryen. He is the great-grandfather of the current ruling monarch of the Seven Kingdoms, Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, and the grandfather of her uncle-consort, King Daemon Targaryen.
The Old King's decision to name his firstborn grandson, Rhaenyra's father, King Viserys I Targaryen, as his heir to the throne over his eldest grandchild, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, during the Great Council of 101 AC is the root cause of the current cold war over the line of succession since Viserys would later go against the grain and name his oldest daughter as his heir even after he fathered three sons with his second wife. Jaehaerys I rode the now feral dragon Vermithor.
II. Alysanne Targaryen (b. 36 AC - d. 100 AC): The younger sister-wife of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen. She is considered to be one of the Targaryen Dynasty's greatest queens due to her charities, feminism, and for spearheading many progressive social reforms, and she is behind the creation of the Widow's Law in 52 AC, and later the banning of the first night in 58 AC. Alysanne was the second born daughter of King Aenys I Targaryen and Queen Alyssa Velaryon. The queen firmly believed that a woman had every right to rule in her own name just like a man could. Alysanne is the great-grandmother of Westeros's very first queen regnant, Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, as well as the grandmother of her husband, King Daemon Targaryen.
The queen rode the now feral dragon Silverwing.
III. Aemon Targaryen (b. 55 AC - d. 92 AC): The granduncle of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, and the uncle of King Daemon Targaryen. He was the second born son of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen and his younger sister-wife, Queen Alysanne Targaryen. Aemon was the third of thirteen children. Losing his older brother and sister when they were quite young, Aemon was his father's heir to the throne until his death on the island of Tarth during the Myrish Bloodbath in 92 AC. His death can be viewed as the catalyst that would eventually lead to the succession issues that currently plague his descendants in the first half of the Second Century.
Aemon was the half-nephew/husband of Lady Jocelyn Baratheon, and they had one daughter together: Princess Rhaenys Targaryen. Through his only daughter, Aemon was the maternal grandfather of Laena and Laenor Velaryon. He is the great-grandfather of Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon, and twins Baela and Rhaena Targaryen. The prince was the first rider of the dragon Caraxes.
IV. Baelon Targaryen (b. 57 AC - d. 101 AC): The paternal grandfather of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, and the father of King Daemon Targaryen. He was the third born son of King Jaehaerys I and Queen Alysanne Targaryen. Baelon was the fourth of thirteen children. The prince became the new heir to the Iron Throne following the death of his older brother, Aemon, in 92 AC, bypassing the claim of his niece, Aemon's only daughter, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen. Baelon died from a "stitched belly" in 101 AC, and his oldest son, King Viserys I Targaryen, became the new Prince of Dragonstone.
He was married to his younger sister, Princess Alyssa Targaryen, who was Baelon's soulmate, and they had three sons together: Viserys I, Daemon, and Aegon Targaryen. Other than Rhaenyra I, Baelon was the grandfather of one unnamed prince, Baelon, Aegon the Elder, Helaena, Aemond, Daeron, twins Baela and Rhaena, another unnamed prince, Aegon the Younger, Viserys, and Visenya Targaryen. He is the great-grandfather of Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon; Aegon the Younger, Viserys, Visenya, twins Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, Maelor, three bastards, Lydus Rivers; Saera, Valerion, Aeryn, Baelor, Alyssa, and Aelyx Targaryen; Alysanne, Laena, Megaera, and Corwyn and Corlys Velaryon; Aeric, Daemion, and Maegelle Targaryen. Baelon the Brave was the second rider of the dragon Vhagar, and he wielded Dark Sister.
V. Alyssa Targaryen (b. 60 AC - d. 84 AC): The paternal grandmother of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, and the mother of King Daemon Targaryen. She was the second born daughter of King Jaehaerys I and Queen Alysanne Targrayen. Alyssa's namesake was her grandmother, Queen Alyssa Velaryon, who had died in childbirth six years before she was born in 54 AC. The princess was married to her older brother, Baelon, and they had three sons together: Viserys I, Daemon, and Aegon Targaryen. Alyssa died a few months after the birth of her youngest son from lingering childbirth complications when she was only twenty-four years old.
Her death devastated her beloved brother-husband, and he would never remarry. Other than Rhaenyra, Alyssa is the grandmother of an unnamed prince, Baelon, Aegon the Elder, Helaena, Aemond, Daeron, twins Baela and Rhaena, another prince, Aegon the Younger, Viserys, and Visenya Targaryen. She is also the great-grandmother of Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon; Aegon the Younger, Viserys, Visenya, twins Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, and Maelor Targaryen; three bastards, Lydus Rivers; Saera, Valerion, and Aeryn Targaryen. Alyssa was the first rider of the dragon Meleys.
VI. Vaegon Targaryen (b. 63 AC - d. 128 AC): The granduncle of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, the uncle of King Daemon Targaryen. He was the fourth born son of King Jaehaerys I and Queen Alysanne Targaryen. Vaegon was the seventh of thirteen children. He was an archmaester at the Citadel. After the death of his older brother Baelon in 101 AC, Vaegon was offered the crown by his father in hopes of settling the succession crisis that had erupted the Spring Prince's death.
Vaegon declined the offer, he suggested to his father that he should hold a great council to decide who his next heir was going to be. The Great Council of 101 AC took place shortly thereafter. Archmaester Vaegon died from cancer at Oldtown in 128 AC. He was the only one of his parents sons to outlive them. Vaegon was never bound to a dragon, and he was known as Vaegon "the Dragonless".
VII. Saera Targaryen (b. 67 AC - d. 116 AC): The grandaunt of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, the aunt of King Daemon Targaryen. She was the fifth born daughter of King Jaehaerys I and Queen Alysanne Targaryen. Saera was the ninth of thirteen children. The princess was promiscuous and cruel, and she later fled to Essos in the year after the discovery of her sex scandal in 84 AC. She later opened up a renown pleasure house in Volantis, and she had at least three bastard sons by different men; the father of one of Saera's boys was the Triarch of Volantis (most likely had more children with other men).
Saera died from unknown causes at Volantis. She was the only one of her parents daughters to outlive them. One of the princess's lovers was Ser Braxton Beesbury, the nephew of Lord Lyman Beesbury. Saera was never bound to a dragon, but she did try to steal one during a failed escape attempt after the fallout of her scandal.
VIII. Aegon I Targaryen (b. 27 BC - d. 37 AC): The first Targaryen king. He is the conqueror of Westeros and the founder of the Targaryen Dynasty. Aegon was the only son of Lord Aerion Targaryen and his cousin-wife, Lady Valaena Velaryon. The king is the great-great-great-grandfather of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, and the great-great-grandfather of King Daemon Targaryen. Aegon I was a bigamist, and he was married to both his sisters: Queens Visenya and Rhaenys Targaryen.
He was the father of two kings, one son with each sister-wife, King Aenys I Targaryen by Rhaenys, and King Maegor I Targaryen by Visenya. All current and future Targaryen's are descended from the line of Aegon I and Rhaenys. Many dragon princes have been named after the Conqueror. Aegon is the first recorded rider of the dragon Balerion, as well as the first known wielder of Blackfyre.
IX. Visenya Targaryen (b. 28 BC - 44 AC): One of the two first Targaryen queen consorts to rule Westeros after the Conquest. She was the older sister-wife of King Aegon I Targaryen, and she was his least favorite wife. Visenya was the firstborn daughter of Lord Aerion Targaryen and Lady Valaena Velaryon. The queen is the great-great-great-grandaunt of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, and the great-great-grandaunt of King Daemon Targaryen. She was the mother of Aegon I's youngest son, King Maegor I Targaryen, the third Targaryen king.
Visenya's bloodline is extinct since her son died childless in 48 AC. She is the first recorded rider of the dragon Vhagar, as well as the first known wielder of Dark Sister. The queen is the namesake of Rhaenyra's only daughter, Princess Visenya Targaryen.
X. Rhaenys Targaryen (b. 25 BC - d. 10 AC): One of the two first Targaryen queens to rule Westeros after the Conquest. She was the younger sister-wife of King Aegon I Targaryen, and she was his favorite wife. Rhaenys was the second born daughter of Lord Aerion Targaryen and Lady Valaena Velaryon. The queen is the great-great-great-grandmother of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, and the great-great-grandmother of King Daemon Targaryen. She was the mother of Aegon I's oldest son, King Aenys I Targaryen, the second Targaryen king.
Rhaenys's marriage to her older brother is where all current and future Targaryen's descend from. She was the rider of the dragon Meraxes. The queen is the namesake of the Queen Who Never Was, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen.
XI. Maegor I Targaryen (b. 12 AC - d. 48 AC): The third Targaryen king. He is considered to be the worst monarch from his dynasty to sit on the Iron Throne. Maegor was the son of King Aegon I Targaryen and his older sister-wife, Queen Visenya Targaryen. He was a polygamist, and was married six times, but not all at the same time; the most wives Maegor had alive at one time was four. Maegor's unfortunate wives were Queens Ceryse Hightower, Alys Harroway, Tyanna of Pentos, Jeyne Westerling, and Rhaena Targaryen (his own half-niece), the latter three being known collectively as his "Black Brides".
Despite having six queens, Maegor only fathered three children, and they were all born with horrific physical deformities as well as stillborn. Dying childless, Maegor the Cruel is the only Targaryen king to have the blood of Queen Visenya Targaryen running through his veins. He was the stepfather of Lady Thea Celtigar's maternal great-grandfather, Lord Bolling, through his marriage to Queen Elinor Costayne. Maegor was the second rider of the dragon Balerion, and he also wielded Blackfyre.
XII. Rhaena Targaryen (b. 23 AC - 73 AC): The great-grandaunt of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, the grandaunt of King Daemon Targaryen. She was the firstborn daughter of King Aenys I Targaryen and Queen Alyssa Velaryon. Rhaena was the very first Targaryen princess, and she was the eldest grandchild of King Aegon I Targaryen and his younger sister-wife, Queen Rhaenys Targaryen. Rhaena was one of the Black Brides of her half-uncle, King Maegor I Targaryen, and she was one of the two of his six wives to survive him. Maegor was actually Rhaena's second husband, her first was her own younger brother, Prince Aegon Targaryen, and her third was Lord Androw Farman.
She only had two daughters who were fathered by her younger brother-husband: twins Aerea and Rhaella Targaryen. Rhaena has no living descendants today since her oldest daughter died from a mysterious illness in 56 AC when she was only fourteen years old, and her youngest lived out her life as a septa. The former Black Bride could have become Westeros's first queen regnant herself after Maegor's death in 48 AC, but she declined due to the bad memories she had at the Red Keep during her second marriage. She was the first rider of the dragon Dreamfyre.
The Small Council
I. Hand of the Queen (2): Lord Corlys and Prince Jacaerys Velaryon. Corlys served Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, who was the widow of his late son, Ser Laenor Velaryon, for three years from 129 AC until his death from winter fever in 132 AC. Jacaerys has been serving as his mother's second Hand of the Queen for seven years now. He is considered to be an able and good Hand to Rhaenyra I just like his grandfather. Corlys replaced Ser Otto Hightower on the small council.
II. Grandmaester (1): Maester Gerardys. He has been serving on the small council for ten years so far. Prior to this appointment, Gerardys served Rhaenyra on Dragonstone when she was a princess during both of her marriages. He delivered all six of the queen's children. Overall, Grandmaester Gerardys has been serving the queen for twenty-five years since the year 114 AC.
He replaced Grandmaester Orwyle on the small council.
III. Master of Laws (2): Lord Gormon Massey and Prince Joffrey Velaryon. Gormon served Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen for ten years from 129 AC until his death from natural causes due to old age in 139 AC. V. Master of Coin (4): Lords Lyman Beesbury, Tyland Lannister, Manfryd Caron, and Jason Belmore. Lyman served Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen for two years from 129 AC until his retirement in 131 AC as dementia slowly began to take hold of his mind. Tyland also served the queen for two years from 131 AC until his untimely death from winter fever in 133 AC. Manfryd also served Rhaenyra I for two years from 133 AC until he resigned from his office after his father's death to become the new Lord of Nightsong in 135 AC. Jason is currently Rhaenyra's longest serving treasurer, having been sitting on her small council for four years so far from 135 AC.
The Lord of Strongsong is well-liked and ambitious.
VI. Mistress of Whisperers (1): Mysaria. She goes by the aliases of "the White Worm" and "Miserys". Mysaria has been serving Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen for ten years since 129 AC. The White Worm runs an effective spy network in both Westeros and Essos, and she is feared by many. Mysaria was born in Lys, and once worked as a dancer, and was the mistress of King Daemon Targaryen during his youth.
They had concieved a child together in 105 AC, but, sadly, Misery lost the baby to a miscarriage that same year. The White Worm replaced Lord Larys Strong on the small council.
VII. Lord Commander of the Queensguard (1): Ser Steffon Darklyn. He has been serving Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen as well as lead her Queensguard for ten years so far since 129 AC. Steffon is one of the coconspirators of King Viserys I Targaryen for the Black Conspiracy. Ser Darklyn is the granduncle of Lady Myrine Darklyn, the wife of Prince Viserys Targaryen. Steffon replaced Lord Commander Criston Cole on the small council.
Current Queensguard
I. Lord Commander Steffon Darklyn: Granduncle of the current Lord of Duskendale, Ser Rodrik Darklyn, and the wife of Prince Viserys Targaryen, Lady Myrine Darklyn. He succeeded Ser Criston Cole in the aftermath of the Black Conspiracy in 129 AC, an event that Steffon actively participated in. Canon character.
II. Ser Roger Beesbury: Youngest brother of the current Lord of Honeyhold, Ser Alan Beesbury. Roger is also the uncle of Lady Nell Beesbury, the wife of Prince Joffrey Velaryon, and the granduncle of their three children: Aeric, Daemion, and Maegelle Targaryen. Ser Beesbury was promoted to the Queensguard by his late grandfather when he was alive, Lord Lyman Beesbury. OC.
III. Ser Clothair Blackwood: First cousin of the current Lord of Raventree Hall, Samwell Blackwood, and his sister, Lady Alysanne Blackwood, and for their bastard half-brother, Robb Rivers, the finest archer in all of Westeros. Clothair is also the first cousin once removed of the heir to Raventree Hall, Benjicott Blackwood. Ser Blackwood replaced the late Ser Lorent Marbrand after he died from food poisoning in 129 AC (will be explained in the following section, Former Kings/Queensguard). Clothair is popular with the royal family. OC.
IV. Ser Erryck Cargyll: Twin brother of Ser Arryck Cargyll. The twins both served together in the Kingsguard of King Viserys I Targaryen during the later years of his reign. Although the two brothers were close, they each believed differently on who should succeed the Young King in the event of his death, with Erryck being a Black, and Arryck a Green. The current status of the relationship between the Cargyll twins after the Black Conspiracy is unknown, but it is undoubtedly strained. The twins are canon characters.
V. Ser Glendon Goode: Replacement of Ser Willis Fell of the Kingsguard of the Young King. He is a canon character.
VI. Harrold Darke: Distant cousin and former squire of Lord Commander Steffon Darklyn. He is a canon character.
VII. Ser Robert Darklyn: Distant cousin of Lord Commander Steffon Darklyn. Robert replaced Ser Rickard Thorne of the Kingsguard of the fifth Targaryen king. He is a canon character.
Former Kings/Queensguard
I. Lord Commander Criston Cole (b. 82 AC): The second and last Lord Commander of the Kingsguard to serve King Viserys I Targaryen. Criston's tenure lasted for seventeen years from 112 AC after the death of his predecessor, Ser Harrold Westerling, until the Black Conspiracy in 129 AC. Unwilling to reconcile with the Iron Throne after the ascension of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen, Ser Cole was exiled to the Wall to serve the Night's Watch. He was the queen's first sworn shield, and rumored love interest, until they had a falling out after Rhaenyra married her first husband in 114 AC. Criston's second charge was Rhaenyra's stepmother, Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower.
Ser Cole's successor as Lord Commander is Ser Steffon Darklyn.
II. Ser Arryck Cargyll: Twin brother of Ser Erryck Cargyll. The twins both served together in the Kingsguard of King Viserys I Targaryen during the later years of his reign. Although the two brothers were close, they each believed differently on who should succeed the Young King in the event of his death, with Arryck being a Green, and Erryck a Black. Outraged over the ascension of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen before her younger half-brother, Prince Aegon the Elder, in 129 AC, Arryck participated in the Coronation Tourney as a mystery knight under the alias of "the Green Knight". Thanks to his prowess and skill, Ser Cargyll would have won the tourney had he not been challenged by Prince Lucerys Velaryon.
Arryck was defeated by Luke during both the jousts and the melee that followed, although he did dislocate the prince's left shoulder with his jousting lance during the final tilt. Ser Cargyll also insulted Lucerys by calling him "Breakbones", which was the nickname of his rumored father, Ser Harwin Strong. Defeated and unmasked, Arryck was stripped of his armor and weapons, and had his tongue removed for calling one of the Velaryon Princes a bastard. His current status is unknown. Arryck's current relationship with Erryck is unknown, but undoubtedly strained.
III. Ser Willis Fell: One of the knights who served in the Kingsguard of King Viserys I Targaryen during the later years of his reign. Willis was a Green, and he resigned from the Kingsguard after the Black Conspiracy took place, and he returned to his family seat of Felwood in the Stormlands. Ser Fell's current status is unknown. Willis's successor to the Queensguard is Ser Glendon Goode.
IV. Ser Lorent Marbrand (d. 129 AC): One of the knights who served in the Kingsguard of the Young King during his last years on the Iron Throne. Unlike most of his sworn brothers, Lorent was a Black, and he was one of the three original members of the Kingsguard to join the Queensguard following the aftermath of the Black Conspiracy in 129 AC. The other two members were Sers Steffon Darklyn and Erryck Cargyll. Unfortunately, Lorent's tenure in the Queensguard would only last for a month. One night, Lorent and his sworn brothers were served pork for supper.
Pork was Ser Marbrand's favorite meat, and he ate two porkchops. Unbeknownst to the Queensguard knights, the meat had been undercooked, and they all came down with food poisoning. Having eaten the most pork, Lorent was the sickest of his sworn brothers. So sick in fact, that Ser Marbrand died. A quick investigation by the Blacks ruled out any actual poisoning by the Greens, but King Daemon Targaryen decided to hide the food poisoning from his niece-wife as she waited out the last days of her pregnancy on Dragonstone so as to not worry her.
She was told instead that Ser Lorent Marbrand had died from a sudden illness. Lorent's successor to the Queensguard was Ser Clothair Blackwood. Author's Note: Yes, I know how this looks. I admit that I had forgotten about Ser Marbrand during the rewrite. I will do some editing in the earlier chapters to include him and his fate in the storyline. I apologize for this oversight. PS: Don't miss Ser Rickard Thorne below! :)
V. Ser Rickard Thorne: One of the knights who served in the Kingsguard during the later years of the Young King's rule. Rickard was a Green, and he resigned from the Kingsguard after the Black Conspiracy took place in protest of the ascension of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen. He returned to his family's seat in the Crownlands shortly thereafter. Ser Thorne's current status is unknown. His successor to the Queensguard is Ser Robert Darklyn.

House Brune of Dyre Den (the Crownlands)
I. Genna Brune: The paternal grandmother of Lady Thea Celtigar. She was the wife of Ser Phineon Celtigar, a Lord of Claw Isle, and they had two sons together: Bartimos and Adrianus Celtigar. Genna is the grandmother of Clement, Thea, Arthor, Dorian, and Beatrice Celtigar. She has been dead for many years by the time RotDQ begins.

He is the firstborn son of Ser Phineon Celtigar and Lady Genna Brune. Bartimos has one younger brother, Lord Adrianus Celtigar. A father of two living children, Bartimos had one son by his first wife, Lady Priscilla Crabb: Ser Clement Celtigar, and one daughter by his second and current wife, Lady Adela Bolling: Lady Thea Celtigar. His lordship had three children before Thea's birth, but the first two, a girl and boy, were both stillborn, and their second son was miscarried. Lord Celtigar is the father-in-law of Lady Floris Baratheon and Prince Aegon the Younger.
Bartimos so far has two grandchildren from the marriage of Clement and Floris: Faeryse and Aegon Celtigar.

He is the firstborn and only living son of his father, the only offspring born to his mother, and Priscilla died giving birth to her son. Clement's namesake is his maternal granduncle, Ser Clement Crabb, a famous knight who participated in the Fiftieth Year Tourney of the Old King in 98 AC. He is the stepson of Lady Adela Bolling, and he has one younger half-sister from Adela's marriage to his father: Lady Thea Celtigar.

Vaemond believed that Lucerys and his brothers had not been fathered by Laenor, and he was not shy in voicing his opinion that the claims of the Velaryon Princes should be dismissed in favor of his. Rhaenyra was angered when she caught wind of what her former cousin-in-law saying about her children, and she dispatched the Rogue Prince to "deal" with Vaemond.
Lord Velaryon was seized and brought to Dragonstone by Daemon, who then decapitated him shortly after they had arrived. Vaemond's headless body was fed to Syrax. The man's outraged kinsmen traveled to the Red Keep to demand justice from King Viserys I Targaryen for Vaemond's death. Those people called the Velaryon Princes bastards, which earned them the Young King's wrath, and the subsquent removal of their tongues for slandering his beloved grandsons to his face. Vaemond had two sons: Daemion and Daeron Velaryon. He was the grandfather of Daeron's daughter: Lady Daenaera Velaryon.

Pregnant at forty-seven and suffering from poor health, Alyssa's labor with her daughter Jocelyn was long and difficult, and she fell unconscious before the baby could be born. Realizing that Alyssa was dying, House Baratheon's maester at the time, Maester Kyrie, was forced to perform a caesarian section to save the unborn Jocelyn before she died with her mother. He is currently on wife number two, and has no living children as of 139 AC. Larys has a clubfoot.
II. Harwin Strong (b. 89 AC - d. 120 AC): The second sworn shield and rumored lover of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen during her first marriage. Harwin was the firstborn son of Ser Lyonel Strong and one of his three wives. He had a younger brother named Lord Larys Strong, and two sisters. Harwin and his father burned to death in a freak fire that broke out at Harrenhal during the Red Spring in 120 AC.

Lord Baratheon has been suffering from migraines and terrifying mood swings ever since Ser Laurence Wydman struck him on the back of his head with his morning star during the Trial by Seven at Gulltown in 134 AC.

Maris has two children, one child with each husband: Lady Tara Lannister by Tyland, and Lord Tyland Westerling by Roland. She is the second born daughter of Lord Borros Baratheon and Lady Elenda Caron. Maris has been disowned by her father for both helping her youngest sister Floris flee to Claw Isle, and for breaking off her engagement to Ser Erwin Lannister in favor of marrying the Lord of the Crag.
She resides at the Crag where she is quite busy taking care of her ailing husband and bringing up their son. Maris has several stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and even a few step-great-grandchildren! Her eldest stepchild is Lady Johanna Westerling. They do not get along. Through Queen Alyssa, Rogar was the stepfather of the only three surviving children from her first marriage: Rhaena, Jaehaerys I, and Alysanne Targaryen, and he was also the step-grandfather for some of their children: twins Aerea and Rhaella, Aegon, and Daenerys Targaryen. Lord Baratheon was his stepson's first Hand of the King. Despite his second wife being ten years his senior (Alyssa and Rogar were forty-two and thirty-two years old respectively when they got married), Rogar was able to father two children on her: Boremund and Jocelyn Baratheon.
Tragically, however, these two pregnancies took their toll on Alyssa's health, and she died giving birth to Jocelyn at the age of forty-seven. Rogar never remarried again after Alyssa's death. Through his two children, Lord Rogar Baratheon is the grandfather of Princess Rhaenys Targaryen and Lord Borros Baratheon, which makes him the great-grandfather of Laena and Laenor Velaryon, and Cassandra, Maris, Ellyn, Floris, and Royce Baratheon.
VIII. Boremund Baratheon (b. 52 AC - d. 105 AC): The previous Lord of Storm's End. He was the son of Lord Rogar Baratheon and Queen Alyssa Velaryon (they were each other's second spouses). Jocelyn was both the younger half-sister and daughter-in-law of King Jaehaerys I and Queen Alysanne Targaryen, her husband being their son, one of Jocelyn's half-nephews, Prince Aemon Targaryen.
One daughter was born from the incestuous union of Jocelyn and Aemon, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen. Lady Jocelyn Baratheon is the maternal grandmother of the late Lady Laena and Ser Laenor Velaryon, and the great-grandmother of Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon, and twins Baela and Rhaena Targaryen. She was the paternal aunt of Lord Borros Baratheon, the only son of Jocelyn's older brother, Lord Boremund Baratheon. Borros claimed to have never met his Aunt Jocelyn.

Sadly, Garron outlived four of his children, losing his four oldest sons to misfortune and stillbirths.

Lord Bolling was the firstborn son of Queen Elinor Costayne and her first husband, Ser Theo Bolling. He had two younger brothers. Elenda's marriage has become strained in recent years due to her husband's mood swings and addiction to milk of the poppy. Rumor has that both Elenda and Storm's End's maester run the Stormlands in all but name due to Borros's decline.
II. Manfryd Caron: The current Lord of Nightsong. He was the third Master of Coin to serve on the small council of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen. Manfryd is the brother of Lady Elenda Caron, the uncle of her five children, and the granduncle of her ten grandchildren.

II. Jasper Wylde (d. 130 AC): The previous Lord of Rain House. He was the last Master of Laws to serve on the small council of King Viserys I Targaryen. Jasper was a passionate Green and misogynist who looked down on women as being weak and insignificant in comparison to men. Outraged after Rhaenyra was crowned queen ahead of her younger half-brother following the aftermath of the Black Conspiracy, Jasper plotted to overthrow the Blacks. Conspiring with Lysaro Rogare, Jasper amassed a large host in Lys that consisted of sellswords and sellsails, and he sailed with the armada towards King's Landing. However, Jasper's plot was uncovered, and his forces were destroyed by the Black dragons during the Burning of the Narrow Sea.
Not wanting to be captured by King Daemon Targaryen and brought back to King's Landing for trial and execution, Lord Jasper Wylde took his own life by slitting his throat as his fleet burned around him. Daemon beheaded the dead man's corpse and later presented the head to his wife. House Wylde was severely punished for the Ironrod's crimes after the rebellion had been crushed. Jasper was a four time widower and the father of twenty-nine children! His first three wives all died in childbirth, and his fourth wife purportedly died from "exhaustion". Adalbert is still alive and quite old by 139 AC.
IV. Waltyr Wylde (d. 130 AC): The most hotheaded of Lord Jasper Wylde's sons. He was executed by the Blacks for participating in his father's failed Wylde Rebellion. His claim was contested by Jeyne's other cousins after her death, and Joffrey was able to secure his succession thanks to the intervention House Targaryen during the Arryn Succession Crisis. Ser Arryn is steadfastly loyal to the royal family, and he is eternally grateful to them for the support they gave him during that time.
II. Rymond Arryn (b. 135 AC): The heir to the Eyrie. He is (currently) the only son of Ser Joffrey Arryn and Lady Ellyn Baratheon. Rymond was named after Ser Rymond Arryn, the maternal great-grandfather of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen.

She became the ruling Lady of the Eyrie when she was just three years old after her father and brothers were killed by members of the Stone Crow clan in 97 AC. Jeyne never married or had any children, and some believed that she was a lesbian, a rumor that was bolstered by the closeness of the relationship between Jeyne and her "friend", Lady Jessamyn Redfort. Jeyne was the half-first cousin of Queen Rhaenyra I Targaryen. She was the fourth cousin of her successor, Ser Joffrey Arryn, the first cousin of Ser Arnold Arryn, and the first cousin once removed of his son, Ser Eldric Arryn.

Other than Rhaenyra I, Aemma also gave birth to two sons, but they both died in the cradle. She died giving birth to her youngest son, Prince Baelon Targaryen, and he in turn passed away just a day later... The deaths of Queen Aemma and her sons is what caused her cousin-widower to remarry, and for the tensions over the line of succession to intensify as Viserys clearly favored his and Aemma's daughter over the children he had by his second wife, Dowager Queen Alicent Hightower.
Aemma is the biological maternal grandmother of Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey Velaryon; Aegon the Younger, Viserys, and Visenya Targaryen. So far, eleven great-grandchildren have been born from the line of Queen Aemma Arryn: Baelor, Alyssa, and Aelyx Targaryen; Alysanne, Laena, Megaera, and twins Corwyn and Corlys Velaryon; Aeric, Daemion, and Maegelle Targaryen. She was born two weeks premature, and her mother died bringing her into the world.
Aemma suffered from poor health due to her early birth.
VII. Arnold Arryn: The Mad Heir. He is the first cousin of the late Lady Jeyne Arryn. Arnold had twice tried to overthrow Jeyne since he believed women were "too soft to rule". Jeyne's "soft" response to her cousin's second act of betrayal was to lock him up in the Eyrie's infamous Sky Cells. Arnold went mad after being imprisoned for too long to a cell that opened up to the faraway, jagged rocks below.
Eldric would support his father's claim during the Arryn Succession Crisis, but was forced to give it up after he lost the Trial by Seven at Gulltown. The Mad Heir's current fate is unknown. He has does have some grandchildren though. Arnold resides at Runestone with his son and daughter-in-law.
VIII. Eldric Arryn: The son of Ser Arnold Arryn the Mad Heir. He was the first cousin once removed of Lady Jeyne Arryn. End of Appendix! Quite a read, huh? I did not list the feral dragons since they are not an integral part of the story yet. I mention a lot of kinship terms here, so let me list them off for you:
1. Avunculate Marriage: An incestuous marriage between uncle and niece, and aunt and nephew. This can also include marriages between granduncle and grandniece, and grandaunt and grandnephew. Examples of this include Daemon and Rhaenyra I Targaryen (uncle and niece), and Jocelyn Baratheon and Aemon Targaryen (half-aunt and half-nephew).
2. Cousin Relationships:
. First Cousin - A cousin with whom you share a common set of grandparents with. Rhaenys and Daemon Targaryen are first cousins since they share Jaehaerys I and Alysanne Targaryen as their grandparents.
. First Cousin Once Removed - The child of your first cousin, or your parent's first cousin. Daemon Targaryen and Laena Velaryon were first cousins once removed since the former is the first cousin of Laena's mother, the latter was the daughter of Daemon's first cousin.
. Second Cousin - A cousin with whom you share a common set of great-grandparents with. Laenor Velaryon and Rhaenyra I Targaryen were second cousins since they shared Jaehaerys I and Alysanne Targaryen as their great-grandparents. The same principle applies to Daeron Targaryen and Bethany Hightower, who share great-grandparents from House Hightower.
. Second Cousin Once Removed - The child of your second cousin, or your parent's second cousin. Josephine Darklyn is the second cousin once removed of her late son-in-law, Gunthor Darklyn. As mentioned above, the Sea Snake and the Queen Who Never Was were second cousins once removed. The current Lord and Lady of Runestone are second cousins once removed too.
. Third Cousin - A cousin with whom you share a common set of great-great-grandparents with. Gunthor Darklyn and Meredyth Massey were third cousins since they shared a set of great-great-grandparents from House Darklyn.
See a pattern here? Adding another great to the ancestor ups the cousin relationship. The 'removed' part refers to generational differences. Once for one generation (parent's cousin or your cousin's child), twice for two (grandparent's cousin or your cousin's grandchild), three times or thrice for three (great-grandparent's cousin or your cousin's great-grandchild), and so on. Does this help?
Any tips or suggestions will be taken into consideration for the next appendix. Anyway, thanks for reading and please review! :)
