Chapter 3
The next morning, there was no excitement going on at the office. The office was barren and there was a sign on the door saying closed.
In their respective homes, the imps and the hellhound slept in their beds/cots, not even waking up to read the time of their clocks or check their phones. The sounds of their snores or quiet slumber echoed through the wall of their bedrooms.
It was unanimously agreed that after a long whole of killing their targets, they decided to take it easy and skip work for the rest of the week.
It was 10 am, everyone rose up one by one, stretching their arms and yawning in rhythm.
Everyone went into the kitchen. Millie was cooking some good old fashioned hot breakfast on the stove leaving the aroma to fill the area. Among those Millie cooked were ham, eggs, and bacon on the stove. Some of the patrons chose some cold cereal with Loona getting the milk from the fridge.
Suddenly, Blitzo heard his phone ring from another room. So, he got up from the kitchen chair and ran over to the other room to answer it.
"Hello?" he asked.
"Oh, Blitzy, thank you for answering," Stolas answered shakily.
Blitzo couldn't answer back for a second. He never heard Stolas talk so fragile and timid like that before. It's not like him. Not even when he uses his pet name, "Blitzy".
Blitzo asked in concern, "What's wrong, Stolas?"
On the other end, Stolas saw something with black fur and dull yellow eyes, eating his crops. "I see something eating my crops."
"Can't you teleport it back where it came from with your magic spells?"
"I'll try." With that said, Stolas used his hand to levitate the creature and throw it into the woods. "Done."
"Okay, hopefully that bastard thinks twice before eating your crops."
"Me, too." Then Stolas thought for a moment. "But what if it comes back?"
"Then we'll be ready for it." Blitzo smiled smugly at the thought.
Stolas smirked on the other end, as well. "Talk later, Blitz."
"Yep, talk later. Bye." With that, Blitzo hung up his phone.
"Blitz, breakfast is ready!" a female Southern voice said.
"Coming, Mills!" Blitzo returned to the kitchen to join the others. He grabbed himself a plate of pancakes, ham, bacon, and scrambled eggs.
"So, what was that about?" Millie asked.
Blitzo was pouring syrup on his flapjacks, but replied, "Uh…Stolas called me about his crops being eaten, but he didn't say what's eating them."
"Well, he is passionate about gardening," Kaitlin pointed out.
"Exactly, Kaitlin."
"Whatever that creature is eating his crops, I'll shoot it," Striker said, putting his fist into his open hand.
"Yeah, I told him we'll be ready for whatever that creature was eating his crops."
Striker nodded. "Okay."
…
Striker was in his room, packing up his blessed weapons after hearing the news about something eating Stolas' crops when suddenly, a sound of trotting hooves stepped into the room.
"Is everything alright, Striker?" a voice asked.
Striker gasped in shock and turned to see who it was. "Bombproof?"
"Yes, it's me."
"I just heard something is eating the ditzy bluebloods crops and I'm packing up my weapons in case that same creature decides to come back. We'll be ready for it."
Bombproof nodded and neighed. The two stepped outside the house to get fresh air and outside, he saw his wives and children, along with I.M.P. outside for the same reason as him.
Suddenly, something red and purple flew and landed in their direction like a meteor.
"Holy, fuck, Stolas!" Blitzo shouted, knowing all too well what the two figures looked like.
"Oh, sorry, Blitz," Stolas apologized, "I just thought I'd come to you just in case that creature comes back."
"So, what are you going to do? Is that 'creature' not leaving you alone?" Blitzo said "creature", using his fingers as quotes.
"Don't worry, Blitz," Octavia said, "Dad insisted I come, but it's good to see all of you."
"Octavia!" Jake cried excitedly as he threw himself in her arms.
Octavia laughed a bit. "It's good to see you, too, Jake."
Jake snuggled deeper into her embrace.
"He must miss you," Striker remarked.
"I'm sure he did."
"Come here, Jake," Jane called to him. Like her husband, she knew her son had a crush on the Goetia prince's daughter.
"Coming, Mom!" Jake said meekly as Octavia set him gently on the ground and he ran into his mother's arms. The sight warmed Striker's heart, so he ruffled his hair.
"Anywho, the creature in question had black fur and dull yellow eyes," Stolas said, breaking the silence.
Striker gasped as the description sounded familiar to him. "That must've been the bear I've been trying to hunt for years, but I failed to catch him. Why didn't you say that earlier?"
"I was scared that I didn't want to look at him any further."
"But that was the information we needed, Stolas!" Blitzo shouted, "Now, we know what it is."
"Since you said you'll be ready for him, then I know what I must do."
"What next?" Blitzo scoffed, but he and his members of I.M.P. (except Loona) were surrounded by a red aura.
Octavia surrounded Striker and his wives and children in a purple aura.
Suddenly, each imps' hands and feet gradually turned into paws as well as their tails grew shorter and as they grew bigger, their clothes were torn into shreds. Thus, their horns were replaced with ears. Once the transformation was over, the auras that once surrounded the frightened imps disappeared.
Each imp or bear, took in their new forms.
"It's only temporary," Stolas assured them. "It won't be long."
Blitzo, who had black fur, yellow eyes, and red irises, growled in frustration as if to say, "I FUCKING HOPE NOT!"
Stolas giggled. "Sorry, Blitzy, but I don't speak bear."
Millie had grayish black fur to compliment her hair, yellow eyes, and black pupils. Jane, Kore, and Serenity had black fur, but out of all of them, Serenity had green eyes that made the other female bears stand out from the rest. Maria shared the same color fur as them and had green lines that matched her mother's eyes.
Kaitlin and Adeline each had brown fur, yellow eyes, and blue irises, except Adeline had her father's green lines around her eyes.
Moxxie, Jake, Seth, and Striker had white fur, but all of them, except Moxxie, had green lines surrounding their yellow eyes.
Octavia felt something rub against her leg and looked down to see who it was. "Oh, Jake," she sighed sadly as she picked him up, "It won't be long." She pet him and he happily nuzzled her. "Do you want to go by your mama?"
Then he leapt out of her arms to join the rest of his family. He snuggled into his mother's embrace. She gladly nuzzled him back.
Octavia, Loona, and Stolas could only watch in awe, touched by the scene. Even a tear trickled down Octavia's cheek.
Striker's nose rubbed onto Jake's, which surprised the trio since male bears usually don't usually do anything with the cubs like the mothers do. However, this was different since the Goetias transformed the imps into bears to help Stolas. Thus, there were films where male bears took care of the cubs, especially when the mother died. The hellhound and Goetia father and daughter could only smile, finding the scene adorable.
Stolas cleared his throat, breaking the silence. "Alright, follow us before someone sees you out and about. Come along."
The bears didn't hesitate to do so because when spotted, they could get the feeling of being watched. Seth, Maria, Jake, and Adeline giggled as they bounded.
Stolas and Octavia looked back, laughing, while Loona grinned to see how much fun the cubs were having.
…
Soon, they came to a forest.
As they stepped in, they noticed how the fresh air smelled aromatic. It felt like the smell was filled with beautiful lucious flowers, and succulent berries and honey.
This gave Stolas an idea. He used his telekinesis to levitate the honey to the ground and Octavia had done the same. Luckily, for the imp-turned bears, there were no bees swarming. Maybe they were out collecting nectar from flowers. So the bears happily lapped up the honey the Goetias gave them.
A low moan got Loona's attention and turned to see who moaned. The bear looked at her, gesturing to the honey as if to say, "Do you want some honey, Loonie?"
Despite his furry form, the gestures and facial expressions looked all familiar to her. "Are you offering me honey, Blitz?"
The bear nodded.
"Oh, I suppose I am hungry from all that walking." So, she went to join Blitzo and the two shared the sticky goodness.
Soon, the bears started to yawn, exhausted from their walk.
"Oh, dear, you must've been tired from all that walking," said Stolas, "Let's find you a den."
The bears followed the Goetias and hellhound, but luckily, they didn't have to walk too far. The bears checked to see if there was anyone inside the cave or not. When there were no creatures living in the den, they walked deeper and deeper into the den. Once inside, they made themselves at home and started to lie down in comfortable positions.
Stolas smiled as he looked inside. "Goodnight," he whispered.
"Dad, I think we should leave them alone for the night," Octavia suggested.
"Oh, right. We'll see them tomorrow."
"Loona, would you like to spend the night with us?" Octavia asked.
"Sure, why not?" Loona replied, rubbing the back of her head.
With that said, Stolas formed a portal, inviting himself, his daughter, and Loona inside the mansion. Fortunately, Loona packed an overnight bag, even during their walk. Like Stolas said, they will see the bear family tomorrow.
