A longer chapter this time around. I kinda wanted to pull in Alice's other relationships into this one 3

-

Recovery girl came by early the next morning, waking Alice up at 6.30am sharp to access her injuries. She deemed the girl fit enough to heal and prepared Alice for the after effects. The girl might have a bit of soreness, but she'd be able to move on her own now. Chess came out after the older woman had left, jumping onto the bed and rubbing his head against his owner's arm. He felt guilty, it was obvious, but he knew that Alice understood. In those situations, there wasnt much that either of them could do. He was just as scared as she was, but the only difference was that she had the correct thought process in order to talk herself through it.

Uraraka came in around lunch time, "Hey! I brought Lunch!" She greeted cheerfully, her brown gaze excited to see her friend. The girl was in a tan jacket, light pink top, and blue jeans. "How are you feeling?" Uraraka tossed her bag into the chair and sat at the edge of Alice's bed, her smile warm. She had been so worried when Alice hadnt responded to her text after the first day, it was only when she got the message from Kirishima that her worry had turned into horror.

"Better! Recovery girl said that I can go back to class on Friday." Alice was still a bit sore and bandages covered her left arm down to the fingertips. "She is gonna come around tomorrow to heal up my minor injuries. So Ill be good to go back to class next Monday." She popped a fry into her mouth, quite content with that information.

"Did they say anything about your license?" Uraraka leaned back on her hands, side eyeing the girl curiously. It was hard to hide her excitement.

Aziawa had dropped some rather exciting news on them when they had gotten together for lunch after Alice's accident, it was the reason they had gotten together in the first place. Class 1-A had gotten so protective over the "Support" student that he had to address them as a whole before someone did something stupid. He'd broken the news of the girl's condition to her friends, which caused a few screaming matches between Alice's friends and Bakugo. It wasnt his fault, but with no good news in site, they blamed him. Aziawa was able to calm them down enough to give them a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. Although at that moment, Alice was in critical condition, once she was back on her feet and able to go back to a normal routine. She'd be pushed into the Hero course due to her actions.

Alice had saved the life of a rather influential person. The man with the fish head had been someone extremely close to Nezu and had his hand in the sponsorship's that had gotten a number of students their place at the school to begin with. So she would be joining their class with no gap in her license.

"WildSpire has been super quiet about that. Im trying not to worry about it." She said with a laugh. "But she's visiting later to talk. So Im kind of nervous." Alice fiddled with her blanket, a nervous smile on her lips. "Im trying to stay positive."

"I think it will be fine. Bakugo said you had a good head on your shoulders. Which is a complement from him, I might add." Uraraka laughed and flopped over on her side, her head on the girl's lap. She closed her eyes with a sigh. She was glad her friend was okay. This entire last week had been so chaotic with her own internship, Alice's recovery, and the attacks from the League that she had barely had a chance to relax.

Alice gently ran her hands through the girl's hair in a comforting manner, "So what about you? How have things been going?" She asked, her head tilted slightly.

How did Uraraka even begin to explain that one? The last week had been an absolute nightmare. With the Shie Hassaikai Raid incident bright and early Monday morning and everything falling apart since. "It's been something. I dont want to bore you with the details." Uraraka looked at her bag and puffed her cheeks. "I got accepted to Ryukyu's agency and worked under her during the Raid. It was... a lot." Uraraka buried her head into the girl's lap and took a shaky breath. "We lost Nighteye during the battle and Mirio lost his quirk. Its been s-so hard." She whispered. Uraraka could feel the tears threatening to fall. "I felt so powerless. Deku had to face this guy alone and... and." She hiccuped, not able to finish her sentence. Alice wrapped her arms around the girl, gently shushing her, and rocking back and forth comfortably.

"Its okay. Its okay." Alice pressed her lips against the girl's hair, sighing softly. "You guys did what you could. Im sure of it. Casualties will happen in battle, but I know that is easier said than actually living through it." Alice felt a frown flicker across her lips and she shut her eyes tightly as she held her friend close. Battles like that were never easy. Being a hero was never easy. They were just kids... people forgot that. "Tell me, were you guys successful?"

Uraraka sniffled and rubbed at her eyes, "Yeah, we defeated overhaul and got a little girl out of there." She said softly. "Her name is Eri. Mirio and Aziawa have been taking care of her while we figure out what to do with her. Her quirk is... different. So they are being extra safe."

"Ahh, how old is she?" Alice smiled and ran her hand over her friend's hair affectionately.

"Five? I think... No, six." Uraraka could feel her herself slowly calming down. "Its been a lot. So I really havent gotten to get to know her. We went right back into training after the raid. Ryukyu gave me the day off to come visit you, but thats it. We've been non-stop since."

Alice's gaze softened and she let out a sigh, "Its alright. Im just glad you guys are okay. Im sure once we get back to class, itll get a lot easier." She really hoped. It was hard to see her friends so stressed, but truthfully that was the life of a hero.

The pair ended up having lunch together and hanging out before Kirishima and Fat Gum got there. The older male got her some homemade sweets he'd made to help her get her energy back. Tamaki had even tagged along, offering some brief reassurances before him and Fat Gum headed back to the agency. The small group hung around together until they were ushered out so Alice could do some physical therapy. They had put it off for as long as they could before the night nurse came in and shooed them out.

Bakugo on the other hand hadnt been having the best day. They had gotten to their last day of Remedial training and although Gang Orca was being a tad less hard on them as he usually was, he still had forced them to interact with the kindergartners on their final day. It had went well towards the end, but it left him irritable. The license didnt feel like he had earned it. He slammed the door to his room, dropping his gauntlets to the ground as he flopped back on his bed. He was exhausted, but sitting around didnt feel right. He felt so far behind. Deku had faced a high level villain and been the hero of the story while he was still catching up.

Bakugo just gritted his teeth and screamed into his pillow, sitting up quickly. Everyone else was at their internships or doing something else today, which left his only immediate company to be Todoroki. He just growled under his breath before he flopped over again. There went asking Kirishima to work out with him. The male stared at the ceiling, he should be going to visit Alice- he HAD promised her, but anxiety fluttered in his chest. He wanted to see her, but something tugged at the back of his head. He was guilty she had even gotten into that mess to begin with. It was his fault. Another hero brought to their knees by Bakugo Katsuki.

The male jolted out of his head when his phone went off:

A: You still coming by tonight? I kinda wanted to ask you about how your last day went.

Bakugo started at his phone in irritation. That idiot always knew when to text him.

B: I dont know. Today was pretty rough. We dealt with a bunch of fucking kids and Im fucking tired.

A: Oh. I get that. Im not a big fan of kids either Lol

B: Yeah, they were a lot. I swear that Orca grabbed the fucking troubled ones just for our class.

A: I get that! I used to babysit for my dad's neighbor back in Canada. They were like 5 or 6 at the time? They were fucking hellions, but truthfully- they were good kids.

B: Children can be. I bet they were fine. I just dont like kids- so they were probably worse for me than normal.

A: Ha! Everything is worse when you dont like it. I get it, sometimes you need space after those type of days. Dont worry about stopping in. We can always meet up tomorrow. Recovery girl said that I can go back to class on Monday. So I just have to survive the weekend.

Bakugo groaned out loud and sat up again. He gritted his teeth, annoyed. Why did this girl have to be THIS understanding.

B: Ugh, gimme like 20 minutes. Ill be there soon.

Bakugo threw his phone onto his pillow and grabbed a fresh clean pair of clothes before he headed downstairs. He hated that she was "so understanding and polite." It made him doubt if she was even telling the truth to begin with. The male stopped in his tracks at the door, his hand barely touching the knob. What if she didnt want him to come visit? What if she was just being polite? Bakugo snarled to himself and ripped the door open. That was too damn bad. He promised he would visit her today and Bakugo Katsuki did NOT break a promise.

Alice stared at her phone for a long moment before the night nurse clicked her tongue at her. "Enough phone time, stretch now." She said sternly, but a soft smile was on her face. Alice had asked for a small break due to her shoulder's being stiff, but it was time to get back to therapy.

The girl worked out just until Bakugo arrived. He felt his entire face redden when he knocked at her door. She was sitting on the floor, legs stretched out as far as she could go with her chest inches from the ground. "What the fuck are you doing?" He managed, a faint grin appearing on his lips. "You look stupid."

Alice opened her eyes and glared at him before she sat back up and crossed her legs. "Stretching. Recovery girl healed my shoulder and hip this morning. She said Id be stiff." The girl mused faintly and stood dusting off her leggings. "I bet you couldnt stretch like that."

"Tsh, I dont have to stretch like that." Bakugo went over to sit down, but Alice quickly grabbed his arm to force him to sit on the bed with her. She had a wide grin on her lips. Her entire mood had changed when the boy texted her that he'd be over.

Bakugo could feel his face heat up, but he didnt complain. "So aside from children from hell, how was your class?" Alice asked, sitting cross legged next to him.

"Three months too long." Bakugo groaned and let his head fall back. "Truthfully. Im exhausted. They gave us a small break to work at an agency, but it wasnt enough. I finally have my license though." He shifted and pulled out his card, handing it to Alice to look over. "It doesnt feel well earned after what happened."

Alice glanced up at him and a frown flickered across her lips. "Dude, I think its well earned. You dont give yourself enough credit." She said and swatted his arm. "Its not your fault what happened. Really. We both had a part to play and we did it."

Bakugo gritted his teeth, but she was right. He was blaming himself for this entire situation. Alice was able to take care of herself. "Tsh, someone has to keep you from dying." He grumbled halfheartedly. "But sure-" He sighed loudly "-whatever."

Alice rolled her eyes and looked over the card. "So Lord Murder Dynamite? Couldnt fit the whole thing?" She couldnt help but grin.

"Excuse me. I think it's a great fucking name. Look who's talking. Lucidity? Wasnt it? Isnt that was Shitty hair called you? Whats that even mean?" Bakugo swatted at her and tried to take the card.

Alice stuck out her tongue, "First of all, Its Kirishima. Secondly, Lucidity means 'a clarity of some sort'- either be during moments of extreme stress or some other emotion. I know I have some social anxiety, but it always seems to wash away when Im helping people." She gave a faint smile down at her lap, to which the male tilted his head at her.

"I guess that's a good reason to go with a name." Bakugo said with a faint grumble in his tone. "Mine's still better."

Alice swatted at him, laughing. "Sure. Ill let you have that one." She mused faintly. Alice leaned back against her pillows and brought her knees up to her chest. "Thanks for coming. I really do appreciate it. You have no idea how much it means to me."

"Dont get fucking sappy with me." Bakugo grumbled, but he couldnt help the faint smile that tugged at his lips. "You appreciate the weirdest things, why?"

Alice shrugged a shoulder, "Because you never know what's going to happen. So might as well tell the people you love about how much they mean to you. How much their actions effect your daily life." She felt her face heat up. "I mean, the people you care about. You know, because Love is a very strong word." Her face turned a deeper red. She was only digging herself deeper in a hole.

Bakugo rose a brow at her, it was the first time she used the word "love" so loosely. "I mean, we are Heroes. Sacrifice is on the menu every day. You never know what will happen."

"With our society, you never know what could happen to the next person. Not just heroes either." Alice stared down at her lap, feeling frustrated that it was so hard to talk about what happened with people.

Bakugo frowned and leaned a bit closer to her, "Like that thing you said was hard to talk about?" He rose a brow at her, to which Alice nodded slowly.

"Yeah..." Alice was quiet for a long moment before she took a breath. "I was kidnapped by a Villain last Summer. Not the most recent one, but the one before that." She glanced up at him, a faint frown on her lips. "It... left me pretty scarred. I went through therapy, but it didnt help. Heroes who wanted me at their agency pulled their applications once I got out of the hospital. They didnt want me anymore. They didnt want a broken Hero." The disgust in her voice was obvious. "Even the fucking Hero class didnt want me anymore." She snarled the words, gripping her knees until her knuckles turned white.

Bakugo blinked in surprise, it was the first time he had heard her talk about being a hero. She was so caught up in her being a support hero. A frown flickered across his lips, she'd been lying to even herself. "You were in a Hero class?" He asked, raising a brow and shifting a bit closer.

"I was the top of my class." Alice hissed and put her head on her knees. "Best grades, number one in just about every subject. I had several of the top ten wanting me to work at their agency. All that came crumbling down because I couldnt fucking exist like a normal human being."

Bakugo sighed softly, "Move over." He grumbled, shooing her over so he could lean against her pillows as well. The male hesitantly wrapped an arm around her shoulders. He wasnt good at this whole comforting thing. "They dont know what they are fucking missing out on. You are one of the more competent people in this fucking school. If Mineta can get in and that bar is set pretty low. YOU can do wonders. I bet with the right training, you could match that shitty Deku hand to hand."

Alice glanced up at him, tears welled up in her eyes. She stared at him for a moment before she slowly uncoiled her body and rested her head on his shoulder. Bakugo made a soft, "Tsh" noise and rested his head a top hers. "I still have fucking nightmares about being kidnapped by the League of Villains. I get it, but you arent alone anymore." He pressed his face into her hair and closed his eyes, even with the hospital smell everywhere, she still smelled heavily of Lavender. "We wont let anything happen to you, not over my dead body."

The pair ended up watching a movie together until Bakugo started dozing off. He'd kept his arm around her, keeping her close until she had calmed down enough to sit up on her own. She still kept her head on his shoulder, much to his delight. It had taken a lot of thought, but he had finally decided that she wasnt all that bad. Alice could be frustrating at times, but unlike most of the people he encountered- she was trying. "You should head back. You are falling asleep on me." Alice mused faintly, gently tapping his cheek to wake him up.

Bakugo grumbled and sat up, his head was groggy. The movie had ended about an hour ago. Had she fallen asleep too? He ran a hand over his face and scooted to the edge off the bed. He didnt want to go outside into the cold air. He was comfortable. "I guess..." He muttered under his breath.

Alice felt a faint smile tug at the corner of her mouth and she sat up onto her knees and placed her hands on the back of his shoulders. "Thanks for coming to visit me." She whispered in his ear and pressed her lips to his cheek gently. Bakugo felt his entire face turn red. He back peddled slightly and stared at her with wide eyes. She did the same, a look of sudden anxiety flickered across her face. "Sorry... I..."

Bakugo tried to regain himself quickly, "No. Its fine. You just caught me off guard." He tried to relax, but the blush across his face didnt go away. He was willing himself to calm down, but his heart was racing. Alice sat back, staring down at her lap for a moment. She shouldnt have done that. She should have just let him leave. There were so many what ifs going through her head and ho boy were they loud.

"Get out of your head." Bakugo snapped at her and grabbed her chin, squeezing her cheeks together. "I didnt say I hated it. You just surprised me. So stop fretting over shit you cant change." He released her face and stood, adjusting his flannel. "Text me if you need me. Got it?" The male rose a brow until the girl nodded at him, to which he ruffled her hair before he headed back home.
