Bonney walked towards the base with Reiju and Koby by her side. She could just feel the corruption of the base as multiple of the officers had been down in the town below drinking the finest alcohols and boasting about it all. "This is disgusting." She heard Koby state as he got his first look at the world. "I thought Morgan was bad."
"Unfortunately you will find that justice is not very common in the world." Reiju said, looking at the fortress. "These men are following a corrupt captain. They will follow orders, especially if it benefits them."
"Let's get this done. By your command, Captain." Bonney teased as a Lieutenant herself, she always teased the other woman about her meteoric rise.
"You are so going to get it." Reiju muttered. "Let's go."
Reiju flipped her captain's jacket over her shoulders as she led to the base. The slow walk made them easy to spot. "Halt! Who goes there?" A marine called out from the entrance.
"I am Captain Reiju. This is Lieutenant Bonney, Lieutenant Law, and Private Koby. We are here by orders of Commodore Luffy under the direct command of Headquarters." Reiju called out. "We are here to do our inspection. Who am I speaking to?"
"I am sorry ma'am." The private said, meeting them at the gate. "I am Private Chan. Please allow me to verify your papers."
Reiju pulled out her papers. She smirked when she saw the man's bulge out. Afterall, the papers had Garp's signature and seal, Fleet Admiral Sengoku's signature and seal, and admiral Kuzan's signature and seal. She watched as sweat started to pour from the man's face as he read the notes. "I..." Chan visibly gulped.
"You will direct us to your offices where Lieutenant Law and Private Koby will be doing an audit on your reports and income. Myself and Lieutenant Bonney will be auditing the base and staff. Am I clear?" Reiju commanded.
"Yes Ma'am!" Chan saluted.
"Good. Let's go." Reiju said walking through the gate.
They walked in immediately seeing the worst form of discipline they have ever seen. Trash piled in an area waiting to be destroyed, laundry piled high, weapons placed everywhere, and men harassing maids. It took multiple maids working on trying to keep up the small area that they saw clean. "Hey Chan," One of the marines called out. "I see you brought some women for us to play with."
Reiju kept a straight face as the man finally let go of the maid he was harassing. "Hey, beautiful." He said walking up to her, his breath reeked of alcohol. "I see you dressed up for me. How about I show you what a real marine could do."
"What is your rank sir?" Reiju asked, holding her hand up to stop Bonney.
"I just made sergeant last month. Captain Nezumi saw potential in me." The man put his hands on her shoulders. "Maybe I can get a preview of the goods."
Reiju had enough as the man's hand slowly moved to her breast. Gripping the hand she spun it behind the man breaking his hand and arm. "All units lineup now!" Bonney called out as a man attempted to grab her own breast. The man was now a baby.
Multiple people rushed as Reiju threw the man against the wall. "My sincerest apologies ladies." Reiju said to the maids who looked relieved. "I need just a moment of your time."
The maids looked at each other then nodded. "Excellent!" Reiju's voice rang out. "Now tell me which of these men sexually harassed you? Do not fear. I will personally see to your safety and the safety of your family."
Most of the maids looked terrified as they looked at the smirking faces of the Marines. They had been dealing with this since they were 'selected' as maids of the base. They all looked at each other. None dared to move until the youngest cried out. "What is the matter with you?" She questioned the older maids. "We have a chance to end this. I know for a fact that every single man in that line save for private Chan has done something to us."
Reiju sighed as she looked at the younger girl. "Thank you for your words. Please all cleaning staff leave the compound. Have your families come to the base to receive formal apologies." Reiju turned to the men. "Now as for you horrid lot. You are all under arrest."
"You bitch!" One of the men cried out. "You have no authority here. Let's get them."
The men gaining courage from one of their own rushed the two women.
Meanwhile
Law had Koby pull the remaining files as he dug through his own. The differences that they had slowly piled up as 'taxes' were paid to the marines themselves as well as bonuses. 'This is worse than I thought.' Law thought as he pulled out his den den mushi. After a few rings, "Thank you for calling Vice Admiral Garp's office. Who is calling and how can I help you?" The lady on the other end responded.
"It's Law. I need an immediate team sent to base 16." Law called out on the radio.
As soon as he finished he heard a crashing sound from the other side. "Law, you didn't tell me you were going to call." The voice rang out. "You should have informed me. I will connect with you immediately. Perhaps when you get back we can possibly go on a date?" "And an emergency response team. We found a marine branch that has been allowing pirates to run free. Luffy is currently engaging the pirates." Law ignored the woman's attempt. "Currently Reiju is in charge and I fear the worst for the marines here if the paperwork is anything to go by."
Law heard a stifled cry out in frustration before the call flipped over. "What are you brats up to this time?!"
"Vice Admiral Garp, we are currently working on ending the immediate corruption in East Blue. We are currently at base 16." Law responded. "We seek an immediate team to take over."
"You damn brats already gave me a headache with the Morgan issue. Now you find another marine base with issues?!" Garp's voice rang out in the room causing Koby to shake in fright.
"Correct, it was what you wanted us to do." Law responded. "When can we expect a team?"
"You will have your damn team in an hour!" Garp yelled as he already pushed to have a team on standby after Law's last report from the Baratie.
"Good, hopefully this will be the end of it." Law sighed. "Law signing out."
He hung up the call before Garp could go on a tangent about Luffy's latest issues he caused. Law thought back to how much paperwork Garp had now because of Luffy destroying three bases that were being used as slave trafficking stops. "Hopefully Luffy does not show up here before the team does. Or else this will be number four." He muttered to himself as he pulled the logs of 'prisoners' in the base itself.
An hour later, the response team arrived with four naval ships in tow. Bonney sat with Law as Reiju went to greet them. "If you do not stop shaking and relax this will never get done." Law stated as he flipped through his book.
"I can't help it. Those bastards deserve worse than what we gave them." Bonney spat out.
"Five dead, fourteen with broken legs, twelve with broken arms and pelvises, six with broken backs." Law said, pulling up his report. "And that was just the marines you found."
"And it should have been more!" Bonney said, pulling out a fruit to eat. "You saw the look in those girls' eyes. The youngest was twelve! Twelve years old and her mind is broken beyond reasonable thought!"
**TRIGGER WARNING**
Bonney turned to the last man standing, well standing was a strong word as he was currently an old man barely able to keep himself upright. "That take care of this lot." Reiju said. "Bonney scope out the cells. I want every detail for what you find. I am going to blare the alarm to get every marine on the island to this damn base."
"What of me ma'am?" Chan asked.
"Go with Bonney. She should not need back up but you know the base better than we do. I want you back here in twenty." Reiju said, activating her raid suit.
"Let's go!" Bonney said, turning towards the cell area. "What are we expecting?"
"I am not sure." Chan said following behind her. "I was one of the few who did not follow Nezumi's orders completely. I was given the worst assignments and was given a tent where I have been sleeping. I just wished I could do more."
"And you will, once we get through this." Bonney said as they arrived at the door. "Ready?"
"Let's go." Chan said grimly.
Bonney smashed the door off the hinges. Running inside, she saw women tied up and bound to bed. Torture devices hung from the walls as the women turned to them. "Masters, are you here to play with me?" One of them called out as she opened her legs.
"No me, I have been good. Can I get more of your special juice?" Another woman not much younger than Bonney called out. "How about the special candy? Please? It feels so amazing."
Bonney looked around her as she saw each of them was not truly there. Their eyes looked off in the distance as they tried to sexually attract them. They all wore a collar and had a branding on their right arm. "Those sick bastards." Bonney muttered as she continued to walk through the cells.
Towards the end they heard a male grunts that seemed to echo through the quiet area. Chan walked with his sword drawn as they rounded the corner to a shut door. "On three." Bonney muttered as they approached the door. "One, two, THREE!"
Using Haki, Bonney smashed through the door. Inside were three men, surrounding a little girl with pink hair. Bonney froze as she saw the girl's vacant eyes. The girl stripped bare, bruises scattered along her slender frame as a happy smile seemed plastered on her face. Needles were placed on a table that used to hold a fluid from the drops still lingering on the tips was anything to go by. "Well, well, well. Look what we have. Chan, you finally decided to join us."
"No, your day of doing this is at an end." Chan said as he swung his blade at the first man.
The others watched as the man got cut across the chest. Immediately they reacted by grabbing weapons. One went for the hot brand from the fire. Bonney's eyes glazed over as she was lost in her own memories. 'You think your father will save you?!' Her mother's voice says to her. 'He will never know where you are. You will finally do something to make me love you, you devil spawn.'
Bonney saw the knife flash before her. She only saw her mother with her sickening sweet smile on her face as the knife went towards her.
Bonney flinched expecting the knife to cut through her. Her eyes closed, she heard a gurgling sound directly in front of her causing her to open her eyes. In front of her was Chan, the knife buried deep into his throat as he stepped in front of Bonney taking the knife meant for her.
Bonney screamed in rage as she saw the man slump to his knees before falling to the floor.
When Reiju came in, running to the sound of Bonney's scream, she came into Bonney standing over Chan's body, surrounded by three other bodies and a little girl in the corner smiling at them both.
**Trigger end**
"I am aware." Law sighed looking at Bonney as if to say he knew. "I fixed their bodies but they are like the slaves we rescued before. They will recover. Look at the Boa sisters."
"That is the point! This was allowed!" Bonney shouted, ignoring the look Law was giving. "This is worse than some pirates!"
"I am aware..." He said as he saw the multiple signatures of bigger East Blue officials and leadership. "We are lucky Luffy is not here."
"This base would have been a bloodbath." Reiju said as she walked up with the support team. "This Captain Takashi. He is here from Garp's special unit."
"Hello, I came as soon as I heard..." Takashi said, looking around suspiciously. "Is Commodore Luffy around?"
"He is currently engaging a pirate crew to rescue several nearby islands from their stranglehold." Law said, eyeing the man as he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank the heavens..." Takashi said, relaxing his posture. "I have been assigned and have taken control of this men and I are currently going through the papers of the slave trader reports. Hopefully we can reunite families."
"If not, I will happily take them to my island." Boa walked up as she had just received a call from Luffy. "It seems like my husband is finished with his raid."
"Lady Boa!" Takashi bowed, avoiding looking at her body. "We were not expecting you here."
"Be that as it may, I am here. My sisters are on their way." Boa said, raising her head as she looked down on the marines that were staring at her. "I am going to be taking Bonney here for a walk. Any objections? I thought not."
Hancock did not wait for a response. She looked towards Reiju with a we will all talk later look, she pulled Bonney away. Bonney felt herself being dragged along towards the docks where their ship was stationed. "What happened there?" Hancock asked as they arrived onto their ship.
"I..." Bonney sighed. "I messed up. I saw that little girl and saw myself."
"You can talk to me." Hancock tried. "You know about my past."
"I know, and Luffy knows but... I am ashamed." Bonney said, knowing that Reiju was probably listening right now with her suit active. "I grew up being loved by my father and hated by my mother. She wanted what I always had. My father's love. So one day, while my father was out, she struck."
Flashback **Trigger Warning**
Twelve year old Bonney smiled as she got the letter from her father. He was out to sea doing something important she knew, but she still missed him. She walked through the castle seeing her mother in a good mood. It was rare to see her mother smiling recently as she argued with dad all the time. "Mom, look what I found!" Younger Bonney said.
Earlier that day, she had been on the grounds when she had come across a weird fruit. She thought it was really pretty. The fruit had a blue color peach with swirls that looked like little hourglasses. "It isn't it so pretty?"
The grin on her mother grew wider as she stared at the fruit. "Yes it is dear." Her mother said. "It looks so delicious. You should eat it. It will help grow big and strong."
"Ok!" Bonney happily said.
She took a big bit out of the fruit. The fruit tasted like ash in her mouth. She went to spit it out when all of a sudden her mother's hand went over her mouth. "My sweet Bon bon. You wouldn't want to disappoint your mother by not eating the fruit you picked yourself. Imagine what about the people that are unable to have a garden with so many fruits."
Bonney thought for a moment before swallowing. Seeing this her mother's smile grew even bigger. "See, I knew you could do it." Her mother said. "I received a letter from your father. He wants us to join him on the island next to ours."
"Really?! We get to see papa again?" Bonney asked excitedly.
"Yes dear, now hurry up. We do not want to miss our boat." Her mother said sweetly.
Bonney happily walked with her mother towards the docks. She noticed that this was not their regular boat that they used to go out to see her father on, but she was too excited to care. She stepped onto the boat, where a pair of shackles were placed on wrists. "Mother, what is going on? I feel so tired..." Bonney as she slumped onto the deck.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA" She heard a laughter coming out from the dock below her. "FINALLY! I can finally get rid of the devil child."
"Mom, what about seeing dad?" Bonney asked.
"You are so stupid." Her mother laughed. "Did you truly think you were loved? Do you think your father will come to save you? Your father allowed this to happen. I allowed this to happen. He will never know where you are, because he does not want to. You are the devil's spawn. You really must be born under an unfortunate star. What are the chances you find a devil's fruit in your backyard? But thankfully, now that you have that fruit in you, you will finally do something to make me love you. You can DIE!"
Bonney stared at her mother in shock until a chop to the neck knocked her out. When she awoke, she was in a small cell surrounded by devices. "Ah, our devil child finally is among the living." She heard a man's voice call out.
Bonney looked on in terror at the man with a shaved head, dark greasy beard and left ear missing. He had a burly build, with hands that looked like it could crush her skull. "You must be wondering where you are and who I am?" The man said looking at the girl licking his lips. "I am your owner for the next couple of weeks before we sell you to the World Nobles."
Bonney shuddered at his smile as he looked at her. "You my dear slave are in the custody of the Blood Devil company. For the next couple of weeks, I will be training you into shape. I expect you to call me master from now on. Now ground rules. If you are good, you will be rewarded." The man said, sticking his hand out to touch Bonney's face.
She promptly tried to bite his hand. "If you are bad," The man kicked her in her stomach causing her to fall over in pain. "You will experience punishment. Am I clear?"
Bonney tried not to dry heave as the kick took more out of her due to the cuffs draining her. The man grabbed a fist of her hair and pulled her up. "I asked you a question, slave." The man said, slapping her across the face. "Are we clear?"
"Yes..." Bonney whimpered out.
The man slapped her again. "Yes what?" The man asked.
"Yes, master." Bonney cried out as a bruise started to form on her cheek.
"Well, it looks like you can learn. Your mother was adamant that you were stupid." The man said, smiling. "It is a good thing you ate that fruit. The nobles pay top dollar for devil fruit users."
Bonney just cried slightly from the pain her body was enduring. She steeled herself. If she ever got a chance, she would kill this man. She wished she could be free. She wished to see her family again.
'Fuck my family.' She thought as she once again got kicked in the back for not doing exactly as told. In the last month they traveled ever closer to her destination, she started to despise everyone. She was beaten, tortured, and everything in between. "You are lucky we have to keep you as a virgin." Her master said to her. "Or else, I would show you the pleasures of being a woman."
He threw her into her cell as he spat on her. "This noble better pay the extra premium for all I am doing for him."
Bonney sat up in a small cot that laid in the cell. She hated the man with a passion. 'I will kill him, I swear.' She thought as she finally saw the man leave. 'We should be arriving soon. As soon as these cuffs are off, I will kill them all.'
Bonney had been playing along with her capturer. She did his chores, walked around naked, and used her mouth on him as he commanded. She felt vile and disgusting each time she did it and for hours afterwards. But still she continued. He promised her if she did everything right this time he would remove her cuffs. 'Of course he thinks I am fully obedient.' She thought as her mouth hurt from the slap she endured after she had not drunk down his fluids.
'I will kill him. That is a fact.' She thought as she looked up as he removed her cuffs. 'But first I need to figure out the power that they say I have.'
She thought as she was left alone all night. She felt her power. She didn't know how she knew what it was but she knew. At first she could barely change anything. But eventually she turned herself older. There was no mirror for her to admire herself but she felt taller, her body's curves more pronounced. Then she felt drained. Like all of her strength had left her. She allowed herself to change back causing a gnawing hunger to envelop her. 'It seems I will need to steal some more food.' She thought as sleep finally overtook her.
Over the next couple of weeks, Bonney continued to endure. Morning she would be woken up by the sound of the door before the cell, she would then perform tasks for the man, washing, cleaning, stripping naked, and sexual activities. All the while she was stealing food from the man. She even managed to secure a kitchen knife one night as the slavers got drunk. They had forgotten to put her handcuffs back onto her. She had just been placed back into cell by her 'master'. "You have been a good little pet." The man exclaimed as she stood there with a smile on her face. "I will see you in the morning. Tomorrow we will officially be at your new home."
"Yes, master." Bonney said with a smile, trying so hard not to sneer at the man.
After he had left, Bonney put her plan into action. She turned herself younger so she could squeeze through the bars. She snuck her way through the ship, only coming across one man as she made her way to the kitchen. She grabbed the knife and snuck back into her cell and waited. Once there was no alarm going off or someone barging into her cell area, she let out a sigh of relief. She would not be sold. She was going to kill that man tomorrow and then escape.
Flashback ended
"And that is what I did." Bonney said as her eyes glazed over from the painful memory. "The next day, I was fed. The man came to get me as we made port. I used the knife and stabbed him in the throat and chest until he stopped breathing. I managed to use his keys and rescued the remaining people and I snuck out in the chaos. I hid on the closest marine ship and then met Luffy."
"Bonney..." Boa whispered as she pulled her sister-wife and other lover into a hug. "I am glad you survived all of that."
Bonney burst into tears as she remembered when she first told Luffy. She had not wanted him to be disgusted by her. She wanted to have him love her. She told him and he responded with, 'It does not matter. I will always be there for you. You are a survivor. You are my nakama. I am glad that through it all you survived.'
That night was the first night they slept together. They had their first kiss. The first time Bonney felt safe after her family's betrayal. She swore then that she would protect her family. Now she had to be strong. "When will we be done here?" She asked as Law approached the ship.
"Shambles" He said, dropping the safe full of money onto the deck. "I believe Reiju will be back momentarily. She is with Koby making sure they have every one of those bastards locked up."
He looked at Bonney, seeing the dread and gaunt look in her eyes. "You ok?" He questioned.
"I will be, once I see Luffy." Bonney replied, smiling at him.
"I am going to have to tell him about this." Law said. "As the doctor and first mate, it is my duty."
"I know..." Bonney muttered. "He is going to get so worried though. And Nami needs him tonight."
"We will be sleeping all together tonight." Boa said, her face making it so they realized it was not up for discussion. "Once Reiju is back we sail for Cocoyashi Village."
"Let's get ready then." Law said, pulling the lines to get the sails ready.
Later that night
Luffy laid on the bed thinking about their time so far. Once the rest had returned from the marine base, he knew something was wrong. Law informed him of what happened and what the base was used for. It shook him that he was not there to prevent Bonney's suffering. He wished he could have been in two places at once, but he knew he needed to end Arlong. Too long he felt Nami's family at gunpoint. Still, it hurt to have Bonney remember those horrid things. He had both Nami and Bonney in his arms that night as Boa curled up behind Bonney and Reiju behind Nami. Their eased breath tickled his neck as they slept. He planned on staying in the village for a couple of days while helping the people to repair the damages. The parties going on through out were a minor concern for him. He did what he said he would. He stopped all of this.
"Luffy..." He heard Bonney cry out in her sleep. "Don't go..."
He sighed, kissing her cheek and whispered reassurance that he wasn't going anywhere before she smiled and relaxed. He did the same to Nami when she had a similar terror. 'Grandpa... Was this truly the right path?' He thought as he had seen so much corruption in the marines it was almost sickening. The World Government had let all of this happen. As much as he wished to be able to see the world, was being a marine worth it?
He knew if he left, his nakama would follow him. They finished up almost all of the inspections at this point as East Blue main pirate threats were taken care of. He only had Loguetown left and with Smoker in charge he doubted that it was as bad as the rest of the sea. Worst part was he knew that if the marines pushed him, he would leave them and do what he thought was right. He just hoped his grandpa forgave him.
