Halves Of The Same Whole

Chapter 53

We invited family and friends over that next morning to tell them about what had happened and they were stunned speechless and emotional for us. Everyone wanted to officially meet and hold the boys. Which we watched happen from a close distance.

Karen and Haley offering me mother advice. And Nathan offered advice to me as a day. Everyone just hung out until the sun started to set.

In a number of days we had a nursery set up for boys. The nursery was painted in raven colors. Dark and light wood cribs changing tables. A large closet for them to share. And toys on a seperate area of the room. Lucas created a reading corner so he could read to Kevin and Keith before bed.

Brooke having a rocking chair close by the crib was all she really wanted. Her heart ached these days in a good way.

She was married to the love of her life. They were now raising their boys together. This life is all she ever dreamed of.

She was going to make this house a real home.

"Ma Ma!" Brooke heard. Which got her out of bed on a rainy morning.

They slept 9 to 12 hours a day and took two naps.

The couple took turns feeding them. Sometimes it was baby food. Other times it was formula from a bottle.

Brooke entered the nursery. Smiling warmly.

Kyle had her dimpled grin and Keith had Lucas's squint.

Brooke scooped Kyle up. She ruffled his blond bed head.

"Good morning." Brooke said.

"Ma Ma." Kyle said. Snuggling tightly into her.

He clapped and babbled as she carried him to the rocking chair.

She had recently fed and changed him. So to her he just wanted some company.

"You're an early bird. Like momma."

"You're brother and daddy are still asleep."

"I love you and you're brother so much." Brooke proclaimed.

"You have never looked more beautiful." Lucas said. As he entered the nursery.

Brooke smiled up at him. "I thought you were asleep. You and these boys are the only ones allowed to see me like this." She replied.

"We have the rest of our lives to sleep. I like this happy. Peaceful." Lucas replied.

"Good morning Mrs. Scott." Lucas said. Leaning over to kiss him.

"Morning my boy." Lucas said. Kissing the boy's forehead.

"Da Da." Kyle said. A smile coming to his face.

The shattering of a window and a car taking off down the street.

Caused Brooke to jump. "What was that?" She asked. Her eyes wide her heart racing. As she clung tighter to Kyle and looked on to a sleeping Keith.

"I'm going to go check out there. You stay here with the boys." Lucas replied.

He soon entered the living room and saw a window shattered.

A brick on the living room floor. He knew who it was.

He knew then Peyton's threats weren't empty.

The more you ignore me. The worse this will be.

The note attached to the brick said.

Lucas threw the brick away. Kept the note and cleaned up the glass.

He covered the broken window to keep out anything from outside.

"She said she wanted me died Lucas. Because no one died they set her free."

"She wants you to herself. If me and the boys were out of the way it would be her dream come true."

"She isn't going to have access to them again. I won't allow it."

"If she wants to come for me let her try. But these boys won't be a target." Brooke proclaimed.

"She isn't going to go near you or our sons. We went through hell. Its enough." Lucas proclaimed.

The baby monitor soon filled with Keith's cries.

Brooke placed Kyle into a high chair. Before going into the nursery to get Keith.
