Chapter 4

The birth of Eda and Raine's daughter.

Three months have passed and Eda is now nine months pregnant. She is showing a good size baby bump. Right now she is outside walking around. She has been in labor since early this morning. And walking around seems to be helping as far as pain goes. Not sure how much longer she'll be in labor Eda summoned Owlbert and said "Owlbert go get Raine please." Owlbert hooted and flew off to go get Raine. What Eda doesn't know is that.

Hidden in the wood around her house are coven scouts. And they have been watching and waiting. Soon the leader saw Eda walk by him. He can see that she is alone and can tell that she's in labor. The leader used his crow phone and called Lilith.

"Yes captain." stated Lilith

"I have spotted the owl lady." informed the captain

"Does she look pregnant?" asked Lilith

"Yes she does." replied the captain

He was going to add that it looked like Eda was in labor. But Lilith cut him off by saying "She and her child will great additions to the Emperor's coven. Now capture her and bring her in." The captain saluted and said "Yes Miss Clawthorne." He gathered his men and moved in on Eda. Suddenly Eda heard something behind her. She looked and saw the coven scout. Eda gasped and took off running as fast as she can.

"Don't let her go near the house." ordered the captain

With that said they chased after Eda. Five minutes later Eda stopped to take a quick break. He labor pains are getting worse. Suddenly she felt a sharp pain and felt something warm run down her legs. She wants to lay down but the coven scouts are not far behind. So she took off running again. Five more minutes have gone by. And Rain and Owlbert have arrived at the house. They are looking around for Eda and don't see her. Soon Raine saw a coven scout running through the woods. Worried that they are after Eda. Raine yelled "Owlbert see if you can lead them away from here!" Owlbert let out a hoot and flew off. He flew ahead of the coven scouts. The little owl got their attention.

"Hat that's the owl lady's palisman. I thought that she was just ahead of us." stated a scout

Now that Owlbert has their attention he flew off toward the house. The coven scouts followed him as he flew away. Raine waited until Owlbert lead the scouts away. Then they went looking for Eda. Speaking of Eda she has sat down in front of a large rock. She leaned against it and kicked off her shoes. Then she took off her underwear. The young woman then spread her legs. Eda has the urge to push so that is what she is going to do. The young woman pushed a couple of times. Then she felt between her legs and feel the baby's head. Just then she heard someone coming. Then she heard Raine call our "Eda where are you?!"

"Over here Raine!" yelled Eda

Raine ran up to Eda and asked "Eda are you ok?" Eda groaned and replied "I'm ok but the baby's coming." Raine knelt down in front of Eda. They looked and sure enough the baby's head is out. Meanwhile Owlbert has lead the coven scouts to the house. Hooty spotted went after them. Owlbert flew into the house and grabbed a bag. Then he flew back outside. And went looking for Rain and Eda. By the time Owlbert found them. Most of the baby is out. Owlbert dropped the bag by Raine. Then he landed on the large rock. Raine grabbed a towel and scissors out the bag.

"Ok Eda one more big push and she'll be out." coaxed Raine

Eda nodded, took a deep breath in, and pushed. The rest of the baby came out. Eda let out her breath then caught her breath. Rain put the towel on Eda's belly. Then they put the baby on the towel. Rained smiled and said "Here you go Eda she's beautiful." Eda also smiled and said "Yes she is." Then she started cleaning off the baby. Raine took a look to make sure Eda is ok. Then they got the scissors and cut the cord. Raine got into the bag and got out a blue blanket. They gave it to Eda who wrapped the baby in the blanket. Then Raine sat next to Eda and looked at the baby. She had red hair and sand colored skin. Raine smiled and said "Welcome little one." Eda also smiled and said "I like Athena the best out of the names we picked out."

Raine nodded and said "Athena is the perfect name for her." Soon Eda passed the after birth and felt like getting up. Rained helped Eda to her feet and got the bag. Then, Raine, Eda, and Owlbert headed to Eda's house. Before getting to close to the house Eda yelled "Hooty is it safe?!" Hooty nodded and replied "Yes it's safe they're gone." Raine, Eda, and Owlbert came out of the woods. Hooty extended himself and looked at the baby in Eda's arms.

"Oh Eda she's so pretty congratulations." marveled Hooty

"Thank you Hooty he name is Athena Clawthorne-Whispers." stated Eda

"Oh that's a wonderful name. Come on in everyone." beamed Hooty

Hooty opened the door and Eda, Raine, and Owlbert went inside. Back at the castle Lilith saw that. The coven scouts came back empty handed.

"Well where is she?" asked Lilith

"The thing is we lost her." replied the captain

"You lost her! What do you mean you lost her?" asked Lilith

"We were chasing her when we spotted her palisman. So we went after him. Thinking she wasn't far away. We ended up being lead to the owl lady's house. Where the house demon went after us." explained the captain

"You fool of course her palisman is going. To lead you away from Eda!" spat Lilith

"Well we have made things worse for the owl lady." stated the captain

Lilith raised an eyebrow and looked at the captain. Then the captain said "I was going to tell you on the crow phone. That it looked like the owl lady was in labor. And when we lost her we were in the woods. So she could have given birth in the woods." Lilith's eyes went wide and is now worried. Then she said "Get any of your men that aren't beaten up. And go search the woods to see if she's ok." The captain nodded and left. Back at Eda's house Raine wants to. Make sure that Eda and Athena are ok. So they looked at Owlbert and asked "Can you go get Raven please?" Owlbert nodded and flew out the window.

Fifteen minutes later Owlbert arrived with Raven. Hooty let Raven and Owlbert into the house. Raven walked in and said "I head we have a new little witchlet." Eda smiled and said "We sure do." Raven walked up to Eda and saw the baby. She smiled and took a look at the newborn. Soon she smiled again and said "She is strong and healthy Eda and Raine." Both Eda and Raine sighed in relief. Then Raven asked "Raine can you take the baby? And go to another room? So I can take a good look at Eda?" Raine nodded, took Athena, and left the room. Eda laid down on the couch and spread her legs. Raven took a look and soon said "You look good Eda." Then Raven used her magic and waved her hands over Eda.

"You and your child are in good health." assured Raven

Eda sat up and said "Thank you Raven." Raven nodded and asked "Did you give birth in here with Raine helping you?" Eda shook her head and replied "No I gave birth outside"

"Oh my Titan you gave birth outside!" gasped Raven

"Yes I was walking around outside while I was in labor. When the coven scouts showed up. And started chasing me. But thanks to Raine and Owlbert. The scouts were lead away. And Raine helped deliver out baby." informed Eda

"Well despite all of that. You and your daughter are healthy." assured Raven

Eda nodded and asked "Thank you Raven. How can I repay you?" Raven thought for a moment and asked "Do you still make homemade nut butter and berry jam?"

"Yes I do I have some in the kitchen. Go ahead and help yourself." replied Eda

Raven left the living room and went into the kitchen. Once in the kitchen she saw Raine. They are walking around with the baby in their arms. Raven smiled and said "It's ok now Raine. Both Eda and your daughter are healthy." Raine also smiled and asked "Thank you Raven. How can we repay you?"

"No worries I'm getting my payment right now. Eda said that I could have. A jar of nut butter and berry Jam." assured Raven

Raven went over to the shelves on the wall. Then grabbed a couple of jars. Then she and Raine left the kitchen. They went into the living room and Raine sat next to Eda. Before leaving Raven asked "What is her name by the way?"

"Her name is Athena Clawthorne-Whispers." replied Eda

"That's a wonderful name." stated Raven

With that said Raven left the house.
