Mika felt it, after a full week of healing the people of Wave and Bridge building passed. A powerful, dark chakra filling the air with malice and hate, heavy and dense it felt like death. He actually stumbled in shock, something he had never done, almost dropping a box of drugs. "That's coming from the bridge!" He put the box down, turning and bolting toward the bridge where Team Seven was supposed to be.

Only, to his horror, to see a bloody man with bandages on his body and a massive blade, and a girlish looking boy with a hole in his chest lay on the ground. Naruto, who was yelling at the man, tears in his eyes, turned to Mika. "Please, heal Haku! He never... He gave everything for Zabuza, please help him!"

Mika paused, turning Kakashi who was standing next to Zabuza, armed and tired looking. "Do it."

Zabuza answered himself answered, his voice scratchy and sore. "Please, help Haku..." His eyes were radiant, tears falling down. "He gave everything for me and all I gave him was pain and power..."

"I am not sure I have the chakra..." Mika kneeled, placing his hand over the boy's wound. "It scarred his heart, but with some proper care, he could make a recovery, I am pretty sure." Glowing green, Mika poured healing chakra into the boy's body. "I cannot sustain this for too long... but I can buy him some time."

Zabuza nodded. "My pocket, it has a stasis seal, for bounties. It will hold him in perfect form..." He kneeled, coughing up blood, just as Haku managed to open his eyes. "Live for yourself, a life lived for others alone is no life as all. I am so sorry, Haku." He turned to Mika. "I heard you killed Gato and healed the people of Wave. Could you help pass that skill to Haku. All he has ever wanted was to be a healer..."

Mika nodded. "I have no team, I would be happy to have him join me if he is willing." And he meant it. Almost an inversion of killing intent, Haku's loyal spirit filled the air with a cold essence. Mika knew he would make a true friend in this boy.

Zabuza placed a hand over Mika's. "Take my chakra, and patch him up as best you can." And a soothing, if rough, energy infused Mika's own meager power with a loving essence allowing him to patch Haku up just enough to survive all that was to come." Soon, far too soon, Zabuza was dead, and Haku was sealed away. Mika, shaking and determined, turned to Kakashi. "Kakashi...he won't survive more than two days in stasis..."

The man nodded, firm in his resolve. "I give you release, take him to the Leaf...I will be there in about a week." The man bit his palm, going through a set of handsigns, slamming down to reveal a pug with a vest and headband. "This is Pakkun. He will lead you to the Leaf. Pakkun, tell them I can vouch for Haku."

The pug nodded. "Sure thing, Kakashi. Let's go brat."

And soon they were off, shooting off into the misty waters below and onward to the village.

Hiruzen was stunned to hear what he had just been reported by Mika and Pakkun. "You brought a protégé of Zabuza Momichi himself? A powerful Ice User and possessor of a lost bloodline, and you wish for him to be on your team as he has no village alliance?"

Mika nodded, bowing low. "According to Kakashi, he managed to easily best Naruto and Sasuke with some ice mirrors, and have enough skill and speed to save Zabuza from what Pakkun called a Chidori. It was strange, I could almost sense his loyal spirit, like killer intent."

The Hokage smiled, warmed by the boy's words. "I see... I will have him evaluated, and should he prove no threat... he will be allowed to join the village, but I cannot allow him to join your team. He needs a record for something like that. He will have to be under constant evaluation for a time."

Mika's beaming grin brought Hiruzen great peace. "Thank you, I do appreciate this."

"If he has as powerful as you say, he could be a great aid, and if he chooses to breed we will have a new powerful clan." The man paused, considering his next words. "Mika, you wish to join the chunin exams soon, am I right?" The boy nodded and Hiruzen sighed. "Dear boy, alone at your level I cannot allow that. You are skilled, but not enough to allow that. Not yet, I am afraid."

Mika nodded, a rare smile on his face. "I was all too aware of that, but that is alright honestly." The boy tipped his head to the side. "Sir... May I become a medic part time, two or three days a week. I saw what my skills could do for myself or others. Becoming a medical ninja, that would be quite helpful given how rare they are."

The Hokage smiled. "I would more than happy to arrange that. Three days a week now that you are passed a month focusing on the basics with Yugao, she is quite proud of you. With kenjutsu and medical, you can be a masterful power for the village. For now, get some rest, come to the hospital and ask for me. I will personally overseeing the care of Haku, so feel free to see his care."

"I am not close to Haku, but something Kakashi told me, to make friends to help with my mind... with the stress of our life. I am not sure why but I have a feeling that Haku could help with that. It is hard to explain."

"I am sure he will... now... go rest, that is an order." Bowing one more time, Mika left, leaving Hiruzen to smile after the boy. "The future comes for us all, the passage of time never fails."
