Chapter 68 Chapter 68
Evan watched as the house-elf disappeared from his view; it seems a cat is not entirely useless, at least its ability to hide is excellent.
Almost all Animagi are masters in the art of concealment, look at Peter Pettigrew, he hid in the Weasley's house for twelve years, that alone is worthy of admiration.
Suddenly, Evan heard a loud noise coming from the garbage can behind him; something was emerging from there.
He quickly stepped back a couple of paces; if it's a stray cat, what should he do?
But what came out of the garbage can was much worse than a stray cat.
Evan saw a black dog emerge, staring at him with its two eyes.
In the dark alley, a black cat and a black dog gazed at each other. Both displayed an extremely human expression on their faces for about three seconds each.
Evan immediately realized that the other side was not a stray dog but Sirius Black.
His luck was truly something; he hides behind a trash can and out comes Sirius Black, whom the Ministry of Magic couldn't even find.
Just as Evan recognized who it was, Sirius Black immediately noticed that the black cat was an Animagus. He gave Evan a fierce look and growled twice.
The atmosphere became tense; Evan felt a hint of danger.
His muscles tensed before he could react; Sirius bolted.
The other side escaped, leaving Evan momentarily frozen, understanding what had just happened, and quickly going after him.
A cat chasing a dog in a dimly lit alley in London; what would other people think if they saw this strange scene?
Both were swift, much faster than ordinary cats and dogs.
Evan's black cat form was powerful; he only needed a slight push on the ground before jumping over a meter, quickly closing the distance between him and Sirius Black.
Sirius Black's stamina was better than Evan's, but twelve years in prison and a month of hiding take a toll on anyone.
Evan smiled ironically, forcing the other into a dead-end alley.
Sirius Black retreated cautiously, with nowhere to go; he bared his teeth, his growl grew louder, staring at Evan. He paused for a moment before deciding and ran towards Evan.
Unprepared for the sudden lunge towards him, Evan stepped back a meter.
Suddenly realizing he had done something foolish, why did he chase Sirius Black?
He wanted to talk to the other in human form, perhaps devise a plan to catch Peter Pettigrew and resolve the events of this year smoothly.
But he lacked the strength, unable to transform back into human form quickly. Seeing Sirius Black getting closer and closer, Evan kept retreating.
The tension escalated; Evan weakly meowed; Black's steps did not cease but became more aggressive.
Unable to communicate with him, Evan decided to turn and flee.
He felt Sirius Black chasing him, so he had to accelerate. Crossing a garden, he saw a figure holding a giant box in the dimly lit corner.
Evan was surprised, upon approaching, he realized who it was.
Harry could not stand still; he was trembling all over; he had just made Marjorie Dursley inflate like a balloon, but she shouldn't have insulted his parents.
He knew from his friend Evan that his parents died fighting against Voldemort. He was proud of his parents; they died protecting him. Therefore, he did not regret using magic on her.
He gathered his belongings, strolled a few blocks, and now finds himself in the dark Muggle world with nowhere to go.
The worst part of it all was that he had just used magic, which meant he would almost certainly be expelled from Hogwarts. He knew he had seriously violated the law restricting the use of magic by minors, so the Ministry's response did not surprise him.
What should he do now? He asked Hedwig to send a letter to Evan; perhaps he should go to the others' home, as it was nearby. However, Harry hesitated immediately. He did not want to get in trouble with Evan, as he was almost sure he would be expelled.
Harry looked at his wand in his hand and thought that if he was meant to be expelled, a little magic wouldn't hurt. In his suitcase was his father's invisibility cloak. If he charmed the suitcase to make it lighter and then tied it to his broom, he could cover himself with the cloak and fly to London to withdraw all his money from Gringotts Wizarding Bank.
Then he could set out to explore!
The idea was dreadful, but he couldn't just sit on the curb all the time or he would have to explain to the Muggle police why he was out on the street at midnight with a suitcase full of spell books and a broom.
After about a minute, Harry made a decision, opened his suitcase, and searched for the invisibility cloak.
Suddenly, he felt someone or something approaching him.
"Lumos," Harry whispered, and a small, faint white light emerged from the tip of his wand.
The next moment, he saw a tiny, pure black kitten running towards him, then leaping into his arms.
