Toga watched his mate and grimaced when she was pulled into her trance. He disliked this trait, this so called gift; it built secrets between them because there were times when she was unable to speak with him of what she saw.
Behind them, Atsuki appeared with the maid at his side. When Fuiasu came to, he bit back a snarl at the sight of the fear and sorrow in her eyes but before he could ask, she closed her eyes and let out a deep sigh. "Her name is Kagome," she said quietly as she turned to Atsuki. "She shall remain with us, for now."
Toga blinked; it was not often he was caught by surprise and Fuiasu was not generally a tender, charitable person. Despite the fact that he had brought her the child, he had not thought she would wish to keep it. "Fuiasu, surely you do not wish to keep a human with us, especially around Sesshoumaru…." Confused, unsure, his heart slowly melting as it always did around his mate, at her uncommon displays of warmth, he trailed off. He did not hold any particular dislike for humans. In most cases, he was fascinated by them. The opposite was true of his mate.
She shook her head as she approached the half-youkai hare and carefully handed over her bundle. "She will not harm our son." It was said firmly, simply, before she directed her attention to the healer. "You will bind her wounds, attend that she does not have a fever. When she is healthy, you will bring her back to this Fuiasu."
"Yes, My Lady." He hurried off, the small baby carried close to his chest; his long ears bounced up and down with his pace, brushing against his shoulders.
