Ponder

Fuiasu leaned negligently against the willow, wide awake as she watched her mate tease their son. Toga was a big man, tall and broad in the shoulders. Often times, when she chose not to fight for dominance, he covered her with ease. The night of Sesshoumaru's conception had not been one of those nights; she had fought tooth and nail.

Shaking her head to clear it of those random, useless thoughts, Fuiasu considered the tiny human babe Toga had rescued. The child's past was her future and yet the girls future was to be lived in the past. She wondered what wish Kagome had made on the jewel to push herself further into the past and yet could not fathom even a single idea.

It was part of the reason she had decided to keep the human close. It might have been mercenary, it might have been callous, but Fuiasu was certain having the child involved in her family life would bring nothing but good fortune. Toga finding her had to have been a blessing.

The small yips and less than menacing growls of her son caught her attention and she focused once more on her family. Toga held the boy by his leg upside down and was contentedly licking his face in true canine fashion. She rolled her eyes and leaned back once more to ponder Kagome.
