Obi

Her nose to the ground, a small black pup stumbled clumsy through flower beds, attempting to follow the trail of Smaru, as she termed him, because her still developing intelligence could not yet pronounce the name. He was still much further ahead of her but she was content to follow, taking in new scents and enjoying the warm sunlight.

Up ahead, Sesshoumaru was busily digging, his white paws stained brown as he tore up another flower bed. He could feel the younger pup coming closer and was pleased. In all his youthful experience, it was always entertaining to have someone to show off to.

When Kagome came upon the young Lordling, she plopped her tail end to the ground and watched, her teensy tongue lolling out to the side of her still toothless maw. She yipped at him once, her tail dragging through the dirt, left and right, left in right. When he returned the greeting and kept on digging, she turned her attention to the surrounding area but remained by his side, nose twitching, tail wagging, eyes bright.

Sesshoumaru barely paid her any heed and, pleased with his hole, grabbed the item he had snagged from his parents rooms and dropped it into the hole. He watched as the pale blue length of fabric caught the dirt and floated into his hole, before barking at Kagome even as he started to cover it again.

Seeing the flash of color, she pounced, dirtying herself in the process, snagged the fabric, and ran, the obi fluttering behind her. He stared after her, surprised, before giving a pouty growl and giving chase.

Kagome only stopped when she ran headfirst into a pair of booted feet and stumbled back to plop down on her tail. Oblivious, she gave a doggy grin and yipped up at him, shaking with excitement as the obi fell from her mouth, covered in drool. Sesshoumaru ran into her from behind and nearly yelped at the oppressive aura of his father. He could only focus for a moment though as the treasured blue fabric came into sight. Jumping around her, he snatched at it, his teeth tearing into the soft cloth. Kagome snagged at it at the same time and a gam of tug ensued, though Sesshoumaru had the upper hand considering he had teeth.

Toga looked from one pup to the other, unsure whether he wanted to laugh or to scream. Both of them were covered in dirt but judging by the mass of it on his son, he was the true culprit. And they were both ruining one of his favorite obis. The girl seemed to be putting up a decent struggle though, considering she had yet to grow teeth. As he thought about what to do with the two of them, he wondered absently when her fangs would come in.

At the sound of ripping material, he sighed and without a word, grabbed the obi in the middle and picked it up. The pups came with it and slammed into each other in the air as they hung on. Rolling his eyes, he held the obi, and the pups by association, out before him and made his way back to the palace. "Let Fuiasu deal with the hole in her gardens and the pups…" he muttered.

Said pups wiggled and squirmed and clung to the obi, slamming into each other with each step. Toga rolled his eyes again but couldn't keep back the chuckle that escaped as the swatted at each other with still growing paws.
