Necklace
Two more years had passed as the pups grew. Sesshoumaru attained his human form, his skin as pale as alabaster, hair silver as moon spun silk. He stood tall and straight, cheeks round with baby youth and eyes as gold as his mother's and father's. His markings had not yet showed themselves, but that was typical of young Inu, especially those in the House of the Moon.
Kagome grew into her paws, reaching the Toga's knees. Her teeth were sharp and deadly, her eyes soft and blue and gentle. Her fur was silky smooth, sleek, not shaggy or messy as it lay close to her body.
She fidgeted as the Western Lady ran a soft bristled brush through her fur, a firm hand keeping her still as her tail wagged in agitated eagerness. Whines escaped as a silver chain was wrapped around her neck and she fidgeted all the more.
"Hush," Fuiasu murmured as she flipped the latch into place. "Until you regain your human shape, we must present you with some form of respectability." The necklace tinkled as the chain hit the crescent moon pendant. She held the moon up for the pup to see and offered a gentle smile.
Kagome, smarter than others tended to give her credit for, looked from the moon in her Alpha's hands to the moon that adorned those regal features. She understood that they were the same and so she stopped her antsy wiggling in favor of licking soft cheeks, happy snuffling sounds escaping from a cold snout.
Fuiasu started at the licks, but let the pup do as she wished. It was not often she was alone with the girl, even less so when the pup wanted to offer affection. She smiled softly and set a hand gently on soft black fur as warmth filled her heart.
