Proper

The ball was that night and yet again, Kagome and Sesshoumaru found themselves being forced to dress properly. For Kagome, it was much easier, as she only required a thorough brushing and the half-moon pendant Fuiasu had given her. Sesshoumaru took nearly twice as long as he was dressed and fussed over. By the time all was said and done, his mother studied them carefully, before nodding to the maids so they could go.

Pointing to the doors that led outside and to the gardens, she smiled. "You may go play but you will return within an hour and you will be clean." The threat in her eyes, though not at all lethal, was clear.

"Yes mother," said the boy prince, smiling at her.

It was not a smile she trusted. Sighing, she shook her head. "We do not have time to redress you if you should ruin your clothing. If this happens, you will be presented to the Inu Court in whatever fashion you come back in and the shame will be yours to carry."

Again, "Yes mother."

She snorted, and turned away. It was a clear dismissal and Sesshoumaru led the way.
