By the time the group of friends had arrived on the scene, the swordsman trying to kidnap Aoi had been swarmed by the other female attendants and Kanao. Tanjiro attempted to assist them by headbutting the strange man; however, he was unsuccessful as the older slayer merely jumped out of the way and onto a nearby rooftop. The man then announced he was a pillar; however, Tanjiro was not too keen on that reality…

"I don't accept you as a pillar!" Tanjiro yelled with a "hmph".

The man proceeded to then throw a tantrum and waved one of his arms frantically while pointing to Tanjiro. In his rant he explained that he didn't need Shinobu or anyone's permission to take other slayers on missions. As he yelled, Susamaru stared blankly at him. People thought she was immature due to her rather playful nature; however, she thought she was much more mature than this man-child yelling from the rooftops at a teenager. After his tirade, one of the flower girls informed the man that one of the women he was taking was not actually a slayer and he proceeded to throw her back towards the group. Luckily, Tanjiro caught her. Now they just had to deal with him stealing Aoi.

To that end, Tanjiro declared that he, Susamaru, Inosuke and Zenitsu would go on his mission in place of Aoi. Susamaru was shocked that the man easily accepted Tanjiro's suggestion without any thought or complaint and soon the group set off with the strange man but not before he rudely slapped Aoi's behind as he returned her to the rest of the flower mansion staff. Susamaru found this particular pillar to be far more rude than Rengoku and decided she already did not like him very much. Her opinion was mirrored by the other members of the group; however, they still wanted to know where they were going and so Inosuke decided to ask.

"So? Where're we going geezer?"

"To the most flamboyant place in all of Japan… The 'Red Light District' where a demon lives," the pillar informed them. He then proceeded to instruct them on how to address him; that he was basically their god from that point forward. Susamaru just stared blankly at him once again as he addressed them. Zenitsu was similarly baffled by the man before them; however, both of them were floored by what Tanjiro decided to do next. The boy raised his hand to ask the pillar a question.

"What exactly do you rule over as a god?"

"Nice question. I have high hopes for you," the man replied. This caused Susamaru to fall over in embarrassment for her friend.

"Tanjiro! Don't encourage him!" Susamaru lamented.

"Shut up demon! Tepid talk like that will not be tolerated! … Anyway, I am the God of Festivities and Flamboyance," the pillar declared after reprimanding Susamaru.

"God of Festivities? Red Light District? Kidnapping little girls? … are you sure there's a demon there or are you just a pervert?" Susamaru said, much to the group's astonishment.

"Susa! Don't insult the God of Festivities!" Tanjiro said.

"Are you serious?" Susamaru asked as she stared at Tanjiro. What she didn't realize was that Tanjiro was merely playing along so that their mission would go smoothly. She was not helping that endeavor as her comments simply caused the Hashira to begin ranting once again. It took several minutes for him to calm down but after he did, he ordered the group to follow him. At that point he also demonstrated his remarkable speed as he ran off towards the Wisteria mansion and was several hundred yards ahead of the group before they realized he was gone. They then had to scramble to catch up to him. As they ran, Tanjiro informed the group that the pillar's name was Tengen Uzui.

After they arrived at the mansion, Tengen sat the group down to brief them on the details of their mission; however, after he mentioned his wives, Zenitsu began a tirade of his own about how they weren't supposed to be helping him find a bride. His ravings eventually earned him a punch in the gut and Inosuke didn't help the situation by suggesting the man's wives were already dead. He likewise received a punch in the gut.

"Do you have anything to add?" The upset Tengen said as he turned to Susamaru expecting an additional insulting comment.

"Not this time, they are idiots," Susamaru said as she put her hands up in a surrendering motion.

"Good," Tengen said as he lowered his fist. Not long after, the owners of the Wisteria mansion informed Tengen that everything he needed was prepared. None of the group knew what to expect; however, Susamaru soon found herself laughing hysterically at Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke's disguises. The three were dressed as young girls… very ugly young girls.

"Pffft! Ha ha ha! I can't… breathe!" Susamaru wheezed as she pounded the ground with her fists.

"Dang… you guys look worse than I thought you would," Tengen muttered.

"Why doesn't she have to wear a disguise?!" Zenitsu complained.

"Because she's already a girl, dumb ass," Tengen replied. "And she doesn't wear a demon slayer uniform either."

"Oh… right," Zenitsu said as he shrunk back.

Once all of their disguises were prepared, the group set off towards the Red Light District. It took them a couple days travel; however, they eventually arrived and Tengen immediately set to work on selling Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu. It took some time but he eventually managed to sell each of them to the correct brothels so that they could begin spying for him. As he was attempting to sell them; however, he got many offers to buy Susamaru, all of which he refused. He said she "wasn't for sale" or was "too precious". Susamaru was shocked since it would have been much easier for him to sell her to one of the brothels he need a spy in; however, he kept her with him the whole time and never once offered her for sale.

After the boys were sold off, Tengen and Susamaru made their way out of the district so Tengen could remove his disguise. He then ordered her to help him patrol the district in search for any signs of the demon there. All the while, she wondered why she was with him instead of one of the guys. After not receiving an answer naturally, she decided to push the question after a couple hours of patrol.

"Hey 'God of Festivities'?"

"Yes? What's up?"

"Why didn't you sell me off to one of those brothels?" Susamaru asked legitimately curious about his reasoning.

"Oh, is that all? What a boring question but if you must know; it's because your a demon," Tengen said plainly.

"I see… you just don't trust me around your wives…" Susamaru assumed sadly. She really had hoped that she would have earned the Demon Slaying Crops' trust by now; however, she realized she still had a long way to go and may never actually earn such a thing.

"What? No, they could kick your ass I'm sure. It's that the demon we are hunting would notice you and think you were encroaching on their territory. That could have made things much more complicated and difficult," Tengen explained.

"Oh… that… makes sense," Susasmaru said as she berated herself for not thinking of that reasoning herself.

"Besides, I am having a very difficult time sensing any other demons here. I was wondering if maybe a demon would have better luck finding it than me," Tengen said.

"Well… sorry to disappoint but I haven't sensed anything since we arrived either," Susamaru admitted.

"Eh, that's fine. I just needed to try a new approach. Not making any headway has been so…"

"Not flamboyant?"

"Exactly…"

"Well, then we better keep looking," Susamaru said. She could tell he was trying to hide how concerned he was and despite his weirdness, Susamaru could tell he really cared about his wives. This was why he was so desperate to just grab anyone to run off on this mission with.

"Yeah," Tengen replied without his usual level of energy.

A couple nights passed with Tengen and Susamaru's searches being unsuccessful. What made matters worse was that Zenitsu had stopped reporting in. It was at that point that Tengen decided to dismiss the others and work solo to stop the demon; however, Tanjiro and Inosuke had clues and were determined to save their friend along with Tengen's wives. To this end, Tanjiro brought Nezuko with him while Inosuke took Susamaru as they investigated their respective brothels that night. Inosuke and Susamaru began searching for passageways and secrets after the sun went down. Together they started damaging much of the brothel in their search; however, Inosuke eventually found a passageway he could squeeze through after dislocating all of his joints. Even as a demon, Susamaru couldn't do such a thing and was even a little disturbed at her friend's strange ability. She didn't have long to think on the matter; however, as she soon heard a loud noise coming from the same direction the brothel Tanjiro went to was. With that, she decided to leave Inosuke to his investigation while she went off to help Tanjiro.

The sight Susamaru came upon was just what she feared; Tanjiro was fighting againt an Upper Moon alone. She didn't even think about joining in the battle, her body moved on its own and she quickly closed the distance between herself and the other demon. She actually surprised herself with how fast she managed to get in range of an Upper Moon. Tanjiro was also surprised by Susamaru's speed. He gathered that her demonic physiology combined with her new breathing techniques were allowing her to increase her abilities much more than a human with an equivalent amount of experience and training. This was a good thing of course because it meant that Susamaru was able to land a solid punch on the demon's jaw.

"Gah!" the demon yelled as she was forced backwards.

"Wow… that was easier than I expected…" Susamaru said as she looked at her own hand confused.

She didn't have time to continue reflecting on what just happened; however, as she and Tanjiro were quickly assaulted by the demon's sash once more. Tanjiro was having a difficult time dodging the demon's incredibly fast attacks while Susamaru had less difficulty. Still neither had good openings to launch solid attacks while they were on the defensive and it was starting to grate on Susamaru's nerves until she realized something mid-battle.

Wait… why am I dodging so much? Why am I fighting as if my life is in danger? I'm a demon! I don't have to dodge her attacks! I have spent so much time with humans that I started fighting like them! Susamaru thought as she shifted her strategy and ran headfirst towards the Upper Moon.

"Susa! Wait, you'll get cut up!" Tanjiro yelled.

Susamaru didn't acknowledge her friend at all. Instead she kept running towards her target. She felt one of her arms get sheered off from the demon's scarf; however, this did nothing to stop her. She even lost the top of her head but she felt nothing. Her wounds were regenerating even faster thanks to her breathing techniques so any time she lost a piece of herself it grew back faster than a single second. This allowed her to get up close to the Upper Moon once more and this time she revealed her extra arms and unleashed a flurry of punches against the other woman. This caused the other demon to stagger back and eventually she retreated a fair distance to get away from Susamaru's assault.

"Arg! You bitch! How dare you lay a hand on me! Don't you know who I am!"

"Well… your eyes say Upper Moon Six but… you really don't seem as strong as an Upper Moon," Susamaru said plainly.

This sent the other demon into a rage. Her hair shifted from jet black to snow white and vein-like markings began coating her entire body. Another portion of the demon's sash also returned to her from another location and after that, the demon lashed out at all the nearby buildings causing serious structural damage. What was worse, was that several civilians were caught in her attack. Some lost limbs, other received serious gashes and at least one died instantly from losing a piece of his head. This deeply upset Tanjiro as the demon went on to say that these humans' lives held no value. In fact, he became so angry that his eyes began to bleed. Susamaru had seen him make an expression like this before; it was when they were on Mt. Natagumo after one of the spider demons had broken the necks of three trapped slayers. This was the same rage he had felt then and she smiled as he launched himself at the Upper Moon. She was happy because this demon was going to know the same kind of pain that the people she tormented had suffered and Susamaru was going to help Tanjiro deliver some of that pain.

Susamaru then conjured her temari and began to back Tanjiro up. She would throw her temari at parts of the sashes so that they would move into Tanjiro's range and then he would slice them off. This continued for only a few seconds before Tanjiro got in close enough to slice at the demon's neck; however, the demon's neck turned into a sash and simply moved with Tanjiro's blade instead of being cut by it!

"There is no way my neck would ever be cut by a human like you!" the demon snarled. She was about to go on the offensive but was stopped short as Susamaru grabbed onto her head and began dashing away from the demon's body as fast as she could.

"I wouldn't be so sure of that if I were you!" Susamaru laughed as she moved the Upper Moon's head as far away she could. The demon's neck was forced to stretch further and further until it eventually drew taught against Tanjiro's blade. With that Tanjiro was finally able to cut through the fabric-like material and off came the Upper Moon's head! After that, Tanjiro fell to his knees and began coughing blood as he neared his "life limit". Susamaru grew concerned for her friend and quickly sped back towards him so she could help him in anyway she could. She arrived and discovered Tanjiro had been wounded during the attack that had torn down the buildings around them. She quickly ripped off a piece of her kimono to try and patch up the wound across his chest; however, as she worked on him she quickly realized something. The demon wasn't dead!

"Did you think that would be all it would take?" The Upper Moon said as she reattached her head to her neck. She was about to assault the demon and demon hunter duo in front of her but her attack was stopped by a solid kick to the face by Nezuko. She had decided to join the battle after smelling so much of her brother's blood. Additionally, the demon in front of her smelled an awful lot like Kibutsuji and she remembered that he was the one who murdered her family. With some of her memories returning, Nezuko's anger reached previously unknown heights and so too did her demonic abilities. She quickly engaged the Upper Moon in combat; however, as the battle continued she began to grow not only more powerful but more deranged as well. At one point, she even tried to eat a bystander! Luckily, Susamaru had finished patching Tanjiro up and together they were able to stop her. Still, she resisted against them and they were having a difficult time holding her down until Tengen suddenly arrived to help with the situation.

"So this is Nezuko, huh? She's progressed into a flamboyant demon tonight. What the Hell? Master Oyakata and Tomioka vouched for her. Are you going to make liars out of them?" Tengen said as he crouched down to the three struggling friends. "I mean, even your other demon friend hasn't gotten more monstrous this whole time and she had less people who believed in her," the Hashira added.

"Uh… thanks… I think?" Susamaru said as she felt Nezuko's struggles less and allowed herself to let go of her so that Tanjiro could calm her down properly.

"I'm sorry. It's just that my words aren't reaching her right now!" Tanjiro exclaimed.

"Well then sing her a lullaby or something," Tengen suggested. Before Tanjiro could respond, Nezuko lurched her body and propelled the two siblings out of the building.

The demon didn't like being ignored and was about to go on the attack but stopped short as her head fell off into her own arms. Tengen had cut her head off before he began speaking to Tanjiro and, as a result, the demon began throwing a temper tantrum that only got worse after Tengen insulted her by calling her "too weak to be an Upper Moon". Tengen was surprised the demon's tirade could go on for so long after her head was cut off.

"Damn, how long is this going to go on for? Why isn't she crumbling away?" Tengen mused aloud.

"Oh, right! Tanjiro and I cut her head off earlier and she just put it back on! For some reason it won't kill her!" Susamaru explained.

"Seriously? Well that's fucking annoying!" Tengen said as he moved to chop the demon into pieces. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to do anything before a large growth appeared from the demon's body and began reshaping itself into the form of another demon. This demon quickly moved the other to a corner of the room and began comforting her. Tengen was confused by this but was quick to launch another strike against the newcomer; however, he was insanely fast and would have left a serious gash in Tengen's head if Susamaru hadn't shoved him out of the way and taken the slash directly to her own face. She had moved purely on instinct that something was wrong and as a result, she had saved Tengen from receiving a bad injury.

"Heh, not bad… you guys stopped my attack there. And I struck with intent to kill, nice guys. Real nice," The new demon complimented. Susamaru and Tengen turned to face him and realized that this was the true Upper Moon Six and that their fight had only just begun.
