Chapter 12
Back at the Kyoto school…
Trigun awaited him.
He hasn't seen his master in a while but wondered if this was the right thing to do, still, these sorcerers are rather interesting. It might be best to remain and keep an eye on everything…
Then he felt his presence.
Trigun got on to one knee and lowered his head. "Master, I am sorry for not contacting you earlier…" When he looked up, Trigun froze.
Master has grown out rather… largely. "Master?"
'I am not staying long, as well, the other familiars have already investigated and observed this place, and I am not in harm's way'
Trigun nodded. "I'll be your guard as well master. Please, come this way, my companion is awaiting you."
When he got word of his master's arrival, Trigun explained to Yami that he rather be outside, in an open space and not contained. He was more than happy to oblige him and made arrangements outside.
They went around the back of the school, there a table and chairs awaited them. Yami was waiting as well but froze when he saw master first hand. "Whoa…" Yami whispered and quickly lowered his head. "It's an honor and privilege to meet you sir!"
Trigun peered to Master Tanso who was taken aback.
'Does he know of me?'
'No master, he does not. They are respectful sorcerers here'
They took a seat. Trigun explained that Master Tanso is a mute, but he can translate for him. "If you don't trust my words, a pen and paper will be fine"
Yami turned to Master Tanso. "What method are you comfortable with?"
Once more, it startled him a little as he peered to Trigun and nodded to him. "You will speak through Trigun? Very well then, my name is Yami, I've been actually experimenting with Trigun as to how he became this way in hopes of using this technique to save others. But, he explained that this isn't jujutsu keeping him alive, correct?"
Tanso nodded to him.
"Sir, may I be so bold to ask, but are you a dragon?"
Master Tanso's eyes widened in shock, he instantly turned to Trigun who merely nodded. "They speak of Ryujin," he explained to his master. Suddenly, his tense state settled greatly. Master Tanso settled himself down and looked to Yami.
"You don't have to answer me, I understand." Yami explained. "However, knowing so, it would confirm that this method couldn't be replicated. For the time being let's just forget I asked." He said and waved off the notion. "Now then, I have come to ask you a few questions. At the same time, I somehow sense that you are not overly comfortable being here as well, sir."
Trigun always admired how well Yami could read a person. Even if they weren't human, he could peg their state of mind as well as comfort level. Trigun as felt his master feel unease ever since he arrived. But that's also because of his condition. He didn't realize his master and mate were attempting a family!
"If it is okay with your master, Trigun. I was wondering if we could have you stay with us to help teach as well as to learn more about you and this method. I understand I will never replicate it, but if I can find similarities to other techniques that could save a life, I would be grateful for the insight" Yami lowered his head to Tanso.
'Is this one trust worthy? They claim to be doing experiments on you'
'In fact, yes. Although they have, there is nothing invasive done and I can refuse' Trigun replied. 'There's just something about this place too, and if we are unfamiliar it maybe best to have me remain here.'
'I agree, especially since little brothers' children are going to be attending here. It would put my mind at ease to know someone is looking out for them. I wish to speak with this sorcerer another time, at the moment I rather tend to my brood'
'Of course master' Trigun thought to him. "Yami, I am going to be staying here. Master has given me permission to do so. He will also like to return another time to speak with you. Now is a little awkward for him."
Yami raised his head. "Of course!" he said with great passion. "You are welcome here any time, no need to call or anything." He insisted.
Master Tanso nodded to this and stood up. He nodded to Trigun and excused himself from the table.
He vanished then and there!
"Whoa…" Yami whispered. "I know he didn't want to say it, but I know for certain now… Trigun, I look forward to working with you."
"Like wise!"
They were heading back into the school when Yami froze.
Trigun did as well as the heads of the school were approaching his area of work.
"Anything wrong Roark?"
He paused and turned to the woman in his arms. "She's not feeling well, I am concerned since…" he said but his voice trailed off.
Yami nodded. "Let's have a look then…"
Trigun on the other hand. "Is she pregnant?" he asked bluntly.
The hall went silent to the question. "What?! Me!? No, that's not possible!"
"Lefi…"
They paused to this as her hand came on her belly. "It… it's not possible, is it?" she asked of Yami.
"How could you tell by the way?" Yami asked as he turned to Trigun.
He smiled and approached her. "May I?" he asked as he extended his hand.
She nodded to him.
With great care, Trigun placed his hand on her stomach. His skin is able to pick up the smallest vibration and he could sense it before he even touched her stomach. "I sense a small life within her, a little heartbeat." He said gently and nodded.
"You said you haven't been feeling well for some time? In fact, last month you truly began to feel sick…"
"But I never felt like this before! I've been pregnant before, remember?!" she snapped back.
"Take it easy Lefi, we didn't know for certain. At the same time… our circumstance…" Yami said gently.
She sighed aloud. "Very well then, I can still teach, but I won't do anything too serious…"
"That's my girl…"
"So, you two are married?" Trigun asked. "Sorry I never really ask people about relationships or anything…"
"We are!" they said proudly.
"Roark and Lefi are quite the couple…"
Roark… Lefi…
"This is the first time I am hearing their given names…" Trigun said offhandedly.
"Only in the presence of family, not before students or company…" Yami insisted.
He could agree to that, but it feel rather odd that they want to keep such a name a secret. "By the way. How are things going… there?" Yami asked offhandedly.
"The place was a dump, but untouched. We learned that the elders have tried to take the land by force but since there was still a descendent at the time and after, it was left in the care of one Satoru Gojo of all people…" Roark explained.
"Dump?" Trigun muttered. He grew curious and wondered what they were speaking about…
