In some chapters, certain words will be sensored!
"Guys! We need to go to the police! There's a literal crime scene here!" Eddie cried.
They all ran back down the hill. "Like they're going to believe us, Eddie. It's all adults that work there! No one ever believes us!" Stan shouted.
Bev nodded her head. "He's right, Eddie! Who'd believe a bunch of kids anyway? Nobody! That's who! No one ever believes us! It's like they can't even hear us, or they just choose to ignore us! Either way, we don't stand a chance against them!"
"So, we can't tell...anyone?" Patrick questioned, raising his eyebrow.
"You can, but the question is: would they believe you? I think not." Beverly said.
Patrick furrowed his eyebrow. "That's true. It's like they don't see what we see." Then he looked at Ben. "Hey, I'm sorry I didn't stop Henry. He's a jerk."
They were all on their bikes, heading into town to clean Ben's wound up. "It's ok. Bowers is an asshole." Ben snorted.
That made Patrick burst out laughing. "If heard you say that, he'd kill you. Kidding."
That made Richie snort. "That's far from a joke. It's like saying the desert isn't hot." Everyone, even Patrick, laughed, even though it wasn't that good of a joke.
"And to answer what you said, Patrick," Bev said. "None of the adults see or hear what we hear. I don't get why, but they just don't. You remember Georgie Denbrough? Bill's little kid brother?"
"Yeah, why?" Patrick leaned forward, as Richie rode his bike around town, with Patrick on the back.
"Well, then you must remember how he went missing last year?" Bev turned her head toward back towards the road, so she didn't crash her bike.
"Yeah, I do. What does this have to do with what I saw?" Everyone turned around their heads on their bikes, including Richie, to stare at him. "Why's everybody staring at me? What did I say?"
"Nothing, nothing. It's just that we all think that like all the other kids go missing, Georgie went missing too. And that clown is that main reason of it all."
"Oh." Patrick said in a quiet voice. Then as they rode into the alley beside the drugstore, they all quieted down.
"You and Patrick stay here with him. We'll go get the supplies." Stan looked at Richie, who was leaning against the wall.
Richie sighed, then sat down next to Ben. "I'm glad I got to meet you before you died." He said, point blank.
Patrick looked taken aback by the Richie's fast quips. He's clearly the one that pops all the jokes. He's heard him say them before. He's definitely the jokester of the group.
Ten minutes later, Stan, Bill, Eddie, and Beverly came back to the alley, holding loads of stuff to fix Ben up.
"Here." Eddie kneeled down in front of his "patient."
Ben lifted up his shirt, so they could help him. It was the first time that they'd seen his "cut".
Stan looked repulsed, as he brought his hands up to his mouth, looking like he was about to barf. "Oh, God, he's bleeding! Oh my god!"
"Would you relax? It's ok, just go get my glasses out of my second Fanny pack." Eddie ordered him and he went to get them.
"Why do you have a second fanny pack?" Patrick asked, confused.
"I dunno. I just do." And that was a good enough reason for Patrick.
"What are you doing, Eddie? You have to suck the wounds before you apply the bandaids!" Richie shouted.
"This is 101. You don't know what you're talking about." Eddie retorted. His face was getting redder by the second.
Bev stepped closer to Ben, concern etched on her face. "Are you okay? That looks like it hurts." Her voice was full of concern. "You sure they got the right stuff to fix you up?"
"Don't worry; we do." Richie said in an horrible English accent. "I do believe this chap requires our utmost attention. Get in there Dr. K. Come on, fix him up."
"Why don't you shut the f up, Einstein, because I know what I'm doing and I don't want you doing the British guy with me right now."
Grinning, Richie started speaking in the English accent, yet again. "Suck the wound. Get in there."
"Richie!" Everyone shouted, laughing. Even Ben and Patrick laughed. Patrick can tell that no one can help but laugh when they're around Richie.
Stan bent his head down, and Patrick saw something that made him do a double take. "D-do you guys see that?" He asked, his voice trembling.
"See w-w-what Patrick?" Bill stuttered, looking concerned.
He didn't have any words left in his mind to describe what he was seeing. All he could do was point at the mural on the alley wall that was behind them. They all turned their heads towards the wall and gasped at what they saw.
It was a clown, with buck teeth, hiding behind a tire, just like watching them, preying on them.
Bev turned around to look at her new found friend, face as pale as a piece of paper. "Is that what you saw in the sewer?"
"Uh-huh. That's a very good description of exactly what I saw. It even looks like it's watching over us."
Little did they know how true it really was...
Eddie squirmed, uncomfortably. "Why'd you say that? That's all I'm going to think about for the rest of the day."
Patrick grinned sheepishly, as they sat around in a circle. "Sorry about that!"
