Four: Blast Off!

(Sora's POV)

"We hope you find Riku." Aerith says to us at the door of Cid's shop.

Cid is an older man, maybe in his late forties. He always had a cigarette in his mouth and he was a bit on the cranky side, but he meant well.

"Make sure you're prepared for the journey ahead of you." Leon offers, he hands me a few glass bottles with bright green liquids in them. "We don't know how far the heartless have spread."

I look at the mysterious liquid as it sloshes around in the bottles I hold in my hands.

"Thanks." I say, "but what are these?"

I hold up the strange liquids.

"Potions!" Donald chimes in. "Any injury you get, these potions can heal you in an instant! ALong with the spell "Cure" but I can teach you that later!"

I turn to Kairi.

"We're in luck, Kai!" I handed her one of the bottles. "Now we can finally take care of your injuries!"

"Thank you, Sora." She takes the bottle from me and drinks from it quickly.

Now that I think of it, we haven't had anything to drink in quite awhile. We were probably dehydrated. I wondered if the potions counted as water?

I watch in amusement as her skin begins to shimmer, bright orbs of light sparkle around her wounds cleaning and healing them up in seconds. It was like they've never existed.

"Whoaa…"

I smile at my girlfriend, absolutely amazed.

"I'm completely healed…and energized!" Kairi exclaims, she looks up at me with one of her sweet smiles. "Here, Sora! Drink the other half! It'll get rid of your scratches! You'll feel much better after, too!"

"Make sure you preserve those potions!" Leon warns, but Yuffie waves him off.

"Being the great ninja myself, I've learned a thing or two!"

Leon snorts but Yuffie ignores him and turns to us smiling.

"You guys can always buy them at any shop that are run by moogles! They are these little white creatures. Their faces kind of look like pigs! Oh! And they have purple wings! They love to travel and sell any sort of merchandise that they can find! Sometimes you might even get some from heartless that you defeat! They tend to drop items and munny!"

"Good to know! Thanks, Yuffie!"

I take a swig from the potion Kairi had given me, and nearly spit it out. I know it was like medicine but I didn't think that it'd actually taste like medicine!

"BLAH!"

I gag, but I drink every last drop before discarding the now empty bottle in a nearby trash.

"At least you're all cleaned up!" Kairi giggles.

"Look out for each other." Leon gives me a nod, "You know where to find us if you need anything."

"Thank you, Leon, Yuffie, Aerith, and Cid." Kairi says. "We'll do everything we can to help the other worlds!"

Donald leads us out through district one and to the world gates. There parked by the gates was a mid sized aircraft that appeared to be made out of thousands of colorful blocks.

"That's our gummi ship!" Donald explains, "It will take us all around to different worlds!"

He then looks up at me.

"You can use magic too! Here!"

Donald places a colorful orb in my hand that dissolves as soon as It touches my palm, he gives the same one to Kairi and it does the same thing.

"The more worlds we travel to the more abilities we will learn!" Goofy says, giving us a thumbs up.

"Are we ready to get goim'?"

The gummi ship was much bigger on the inside. There was even a small bathroom and lounge area behind the drivers area, In front of the seats were hundreds of buttons that blinked and buzzed.

"Can you believe this, Kai? Our very first time on a ship! It's a dream come true!" I exclaim, as I hug Kairi tightly from behind. Her scent of vanilla and honey was still there.

"It's incredible…" She replies.

"We travel to different worlds on the gummi ship!" Donald says, as he waddles over to the driver's seat.

"The heartless ships often give us a hard time." Goofy adds, as the four of us strap ourselves into our seats.

"Always be on the lookout during flight." Donald calls from the front. "Is everyone ready?"

"Ready!" Kairi, Goofy, and I reply.

I could feel my heart starting to race with anticipation.
Donald nods as he presses a few buttons with his white wings, the engine whirs to life beneath us as the lights of the ship go out. The only lights that were visible were from the buttons of the gummi ship,

"Here we goooo!" Donald cries, grabbing onto the controls with his white wings.

He wastes no time and pushes them forward. The gummi ship blasts forward, the world of Traverse Town becoming a complete blur until it was nothing but a star the size of a dot in the distance.

"Hang on to your seats!" Goofy chuckles, he didn't need to tell us twice.
Kairi and I couldn't help but laugh along with him. The new sensation of flight made my tummy tickle and my entire body vibrate. Never in my life did I ever think I'd be able to fly in a spaceship, The galaxy was even prettier than it was in the pictures of the school textbooks. Multicolored clouds and endless magenta skies sprinkled with millions of stars. Most of them must be other worlds!

"It looks like our first world is closer to us than I thought!" Donald announces.

We all turned to look out the left window. There floating in front of our ship was an enormous pink circular platform, decorated with hearts. Above it was a green shaped hedge and behind it was a tall white castle.

"Wow, such an interesting layout!" Kairi exclaims.

"You ain't seen nothing yet!" Donald waves a wing at her. "Hang on tight guys, we're about to embark!"

Donald descends the gummi ship down toward the world. My stomach flutters from the sudden motion as we begin to pick up speed. We were welcomed by bright blue skies and puffy white clouds the further we descended, but as if someone switched a slide, we were now hovering over what appeared to be a rabbit hole.

"Well, that sure is odd!" Goofy acknowledges. "This don't look like the best landin' spot!"

"It'll have to do, I think we're stuck!" Donald says impatiently, he hops out of his seat and waddles over to us. "My magic will protect us from our fall, no matter how deep it is!"

Kairi gave me a wary look.

I nod to reassure her, taking her hand in mine.

"I'll be right beside you, Kai!"

Donald pushed a red button that was located on the side next to the main doors of the gummi ship. The doors opened swiftly. Blowing warm air into the aircraft.

"Alright, let's get going! There is no time to waste!"

Kairi squeezes my hand tightly before we jump out of the doors and down into the mysterious rabbit hole.
