Chapter 2 – It's Been Two Years?!
Summary – Kurt Hummel was in a horrible car accident two years ago leaving him in a coma. For those two years he is yet to wake up and has no idea of what has become of his life, with his family seeing him as offend as possible. But when an old school friend finds out and goes to see him for the first time since high school could it change everything? Could it finally be Kurt's? Wake up call.
Important Information! – Hey all! Welcome back to my fanfiction page! Or if you're new here then welcome to my fanfic page! This is a new story I had a random idea about the other day and I'm excited to write it. I'm not sure how many chapters it will be yet or were it might go but hopefully you will all like it. I have to say I did some research on Coma's and medical things but I have no idea if this will be correct or right in anyway possible so please keep that in mind when reading and don't hate me for it. It is just a story. That being said lets being and thanks again for all the support and love – Emily!
Chapter Two – It's Been Two Years?!
Nurse Juliet was over with her team right away to check Kurt over. They checked his bloods, his weight and everything else needed and were shocked to see that everything seemed to be okay. When his was all happening Kurt just looked at his dad confused.
He didn't understand any of this. How did he get here? Why was he here? Was he married he noticed he had a wedding ring on.
Juliet turned to look at Burt "Kurt is perfectly healthy and well"
Burt smiled "That's amazing news, so will he be okay to come home?" he asked.
"We did to see what he can remember first and he might have to stay in a couple more days to get his strength back first" she explained.
"Why wouldn't he remember anything?" David asked looking worried.
Juliet looked at him and sighed sadly "Each coma is different depending on what happened to them to get into one in the first place, and also how good the person memory is. Some people wake up and can remember everything, some nothing. Others can remember parts. And sadly some don't wake up at all."
Burt looked down sadly "So what is my son's case?"
Juliet sighed "I'm not sure why don't you put together a list of questions to ask him and then we can get a better understanding" she smiled.
Burt smiled and nodded getting some pens and paper from the main desk.
David wanted to ask if he should help but didn't want to overstep, so just stayed by Kurt and smiled.
Kurt smiled back looking at him closely. He thought he remembered him from somewhere, and had seen him before. But just couldn't think of where.
He looked down again at his wedding ring. Maybe this handsome man was his husband. Or maybe a work friend. His mind was all over the place.
Seeing Kurt distressed David decided to finally open his mouth and speak to him. "Umm are you…okay?" he asked.
Kurt gulped looking at him "I think so, I….I don't really know" he answered back.
"That understandable" Dave answered back smiling "Umm do you remember what happened?"
Kurt shock his head biting his lower lip "No. but can I possibly ask you a question?"
Dave smiled getting closer "Of course"
Kurt smiled blushing a little "Umm are you…are you my husband?"
Dave gulped blushing a dark pink "Umm sadly no, you married someone else"
Kurt sighed looking slightly disappointed "Oh. Do you know who?"
David looked down. He really wanted to say a total asshole, but that was no fair on Kurt. He just woke up he needed to know the truth about things.
"Yeah his name is Blaine. Blaine Anderson. He always wearing bowties" he said smiling a little.
Kurt looked at him and thought about the information that was being told to him. Blaine Anderson. The more he thought about that man's name the more nothing came to his mind.
Just as Kurt was about to ask another question Burt came back into the room holding out two cups of coffee and handed one to Dave, sitting back down in his seat.
"Thank you" Dave said smiling back at him.
"You're welcome" Burt said smiling back "Has he said anything to you at all?" he asked.
David gulped again "Umm yeah, he asked if I was his husband"
Burt almost chocked on some of his tea "Oh right. What did you say?"
Dave laughed "I said no of course don't worry"
Burt chuckled "Well to be honest with you, I would much rather have you as a son in law right now"
Dave smiled and also sat down next to the older man.
Just then Juliet came back in with a cup of water handing it to Kurt "Are you ready to begin?"
Kurt looked sadly at Juliet taking the water "Why can't I have Coffee?" he asked looking disappointed.
Juliet giggled "Sorry sweetie would you like a coffee?"
Kurt smiled nodding "Yes please"
Juliet smiled nodding and quickly went to make him a coffee.
Just as she left, Blaine came in holding a two coffee cups "Sorry I came as soon as possible, I just got really busy"
Burt sighed "its fine sit down"
Blaine smiled and went to sit down when he noticed a pair of piercing blue eyes stare at him from his left side.
"You're awake?!" he said to Kurt looking faint.
Kurt smiled nodding "Yeah. I heard you're my husband"
Blaine gulped looking down "You don't remember?"
Kurt looked at him confused "Remember what?"
Blaine sighed looking at him "Kurt were getting a divorce"
Dave almost chocked. Divorce? But what went wrong Kurt and Blaine were Klaine, they had been high school sweethearts for as long as he knew them.
And of course they had their up's and downs but didn't every couple. To him Kurt was perfect, who would want to get a divorce from him?
Kurt looked at Blaine shocked "What, why. Did I do something wrong?"
Blaine sighed "No, no not at all. I just….you went into this coma and I met someone else"
Kurt looked at him with tears "You, you met someone else?"
Blaine nodded sadly.
Kurt looked at his dad with a tear falling from his eye "Dad…I don't understand what is going on?"
Burt sighed asking Blaine and Dave if they can wait in the waiting room as he told Kurt what had been going on.
They both agreed going into the room next door, and with them gone Burt took his son's hand.
"Blaine and you were married for 6 years. When you turned 24 you went to do something nice for Blaine and you were driving to do it. You got into a car accident and you went into a coma. Blaine came to see you at first but then met someone and filed for a divorce. He didn't see you much after that" Burt explained sadly.
Kurt wiped his eyes "So he just gave up on me?"
Burt nodded sadly.
Kurt looked at him "What about the other guy? The brown haired guy?" he asked.
Burt smiled "Well you two never had the best start. But you made him change and become the person he is today. And now you two are friends of some sort. Not close but some sort" he giggled.
Kurt smiled "I like that he is here"
Burt smiled "Me too"
Burt then talked to him more about home life, where he worked and what he did, and explained about family such as Finn and Carol, and friends like Rachel and Mercedes.
Kurt smiled he was glad to be told things again, and know he had other people who could help around him.
And about an hour later the others came back in the room to sit with him; Dave had been sure to let Juliet know what was going on and asked if she could hang on with making that Coffee.
Kurt looked at all their faces one by one. He now had a good idea of who they all were. And then something clicked.
"Wait I been here for two years?" he gulped.
Juliet nodded "Yes but nothing much has changed beside new phones"
Kurt smiled "Oh okay, but still I missed two years! It's been two years!"
Dave smiled gently taking his hand "Don't worry you will catch up fast, we can help"
Kurt smiled blushing a little; there was something about this man that just made him feel very safe at the moment "Thank you…..umm"
Dave giggled "David that's my name"
Kurt blushed "Right David. Sorry"
Blaine looked at the two and sighed "I can help too if you want"
Kurt looked at him with anger "I don't want your help"
Blaine sighed "Kurt you need to understand, I tried-"
Kurt now looked at him in even more anger "You tried! You meant someone new! You left me!"
Blaine looked at him angry "It was never like that! I…I… It's hard to explain"
Kurt looked at him "I don't want you here"
Blaine looked at him sadly "Kurt please, I can explain everything I-"
Kurt then shouted causing Dave to jump "I DON'T WANT YOU HERE!"
Dave jumped gulping. He never heard Kurt shout like that before, usually it was left for him in the high school fights they had.
Burt looked at Burt sternly "I think you better leave"
Blaine sighed leaving. "If he changes his mind you have my number"
Kurt rolled his eyes "I won't"
Dave tried his best not to laugh, he loved sassy Kurt.
Just then Juliet came back in with some paper work "Good news Kurt, you can leave tomorrow morning everything seems to be alright"
Kurt smiled "Thank you that's great"
Juliet smiled back "However you will need someone with you for the first two weeks. You not been by yourself on your own at your old apartment so things might be hard to get use to again at first" she explained.
Kurt was about to ask his dad but he remembered that his dad said he still lived in Ohio with Carol, it would be too far to go.
Dave smiled "Umm….you could come and stay at mine for a bit if you want, you could take thing slowly and I could help if you like"
Burt smiled "You sure you wouldn't mind?
David smiled back "Kurt helped me once upon a time, I'm sure I can try and help him now"
Kurt smiled "I would like that, thank you David"
David smiled "No problem, baby steps right?"
Kurt smiled, he felt like he knew that from somewhere "Yeah, baby steps"
End of Chapter Two – Hey guys thank you so much for all the support and feedback last time, I hope everyone is enjoying chapter two and the story over all, I'm really liking where this is going, and for all the Klaine fans out there don't worry Kurt and Blaine will be friends again soon, and have their chat.
