After that, it was easier to slip away during his uninterrupted blocks for "meditation."
It was around then that Marinette stumbled on one of their tea times. She looked utterly exhausted, and hardly cast Chat a glance as she sat. Sabine passed her an extra teacup.
"Long day, sweetheart?" She asked gently.
"A bit," Marinette yawned. "Just so sleepy…"
She dropped off almost immediately.
Chat smiled, charmed by the Dupain-Chengs' warm informality. "She must have been pretty tired."
Sabine sighed, gently smoothing her daughter's hair. The easy affection made Chat's heart ache. "Yes. Marinette pushes herself far too hard, sometimes."
