TFP: Youngling
Ch.28~ Siblings
"Hey Starry!" Sides called as he and Sunny entered through the bridge.
"Sides! Sunny!" I chimed and raced to tackle Sides' pedes.
"Nothing on patrol I assume?" Carrier quizzed as he worked on his latest project.
"Nope." Sides replied picking me up and setting me on his shoulderplates. "What you working on?"
"Something delicate, don't touch," Carrier stated, Sides whined.
"Want a hand?" Sunny asked Carrier waved him off.
"You three go have fun; I need to focus." Carrier huffed, Sunny nodded.
"Let's go you two," Sunny said, and we headed to the training room. "Sides don't pout."
"Ratch is being way boring." Sides whined, Sunny stopped and let out a deep vent.
"For once can't you be mature Sides." Sunny huffed, Sunny has been acting more mature lately.
"Mature? Me? Never." Sides joked, Sunny glared at Sides.
"Maybe you should try." Sunny hissed, he looked angry.
"You're being a jerk." Sides replied.
"Come on let's just go play." I soothed, I felt Sides set me down.
"You go ahead." Sides insisted, I looked at him and Sunny glared at each other. "We need to talk."
"We'll be there soon." Sunny assured, I slowly walked toward the training room.
Once I reached the room, I could hear them yelling, I sat down against the wall. Why were they fighting? This wasn't like them, sure they bickered but this was… I drew my pedes to my chassis as I listened to them argue. Why were they fighting? I felt tears prickle the corner of my optics.
(Sunstreaker's POV)
"Sire and Carrier are no longer around to look out for you," I stated, he glared at me.
"You think I don't know that!?" he screamed our bond flaring with anger.
"You act like it," I argued poking his chassis. "Stop acting like a youngling already, I am sick of being the only responsible one."
"I never asked you to be responsible for me!" he retorted, I growled. "You're the one that is being an aft all the time. You barely send anything over the bond anymore except lectures! I don't need you lecturing me!"
"Why don't you get it?!" I hissed, "We're on a planet far away, it's not like before, there isn't a full army here!"
I heard pede falls approached, I looked to see Ratchet walking over his servos crossed. I sighed; this was all Sides' fault. Ratchet let out a sigh as he looked over us both. Sides went to speak but I cover his mouth, he glared at me.
"We're sorry." I apologized.
"You two clearly need to get this out of your systems, go to your room and talk." He stated, I nodded and grabbed Sides servo pulling him to our room.
"Stop treating me like a youngling." Sides whined, as we entered our room.
"Then stop acting like one…" I grumbled, "What can I do to make you understand…"
"You don't think I understand." He stated, breaking his servo free.
"You're making that pretty clear Sides…" I muttered; he grabs my shoulderplates pulling me to look at him.
"I understand, things are bad, the odds and everything are stacked against us… We've been barely able to keep up our energon reserves, I get it… I was trying to be like Carrier, he told us all the time to keep smiling… He said that if everyone let life weigh them down all the time, that they'd lose hope… I was trying to lighten things up. They can all laugh at me, call me silly. At least I took their minds off all this scrap for even a moment!" he ranted, I felt tears build in my optics. "I know you get down more than me…"
"I… I'm sorry…" I apologized, he smiled at me.
"I'm sorry too, I know sometimes I still go overboard…" he replied, I wrapped my servo around him pulling him into a tight hug. "Sunny you can open up to me."
"Thanks," I muttered burying my faceplate in his neck cables.
"You act a bit too much like Sire sometimes." He joked, I chuckled nuzzling the crook of his neck.
(Ratchet's POV)
I sent the twins to their room, and Sunstreaker had drug his twin off quickly. I let out another sigh, seems those two were not communicating again. How in Primus they did that being bonded at the spark so deeply I will never know. Now I have to find Stargazer, she must have heard them if I did. Walking down the halls I soon began to hear some crying sounds.
Soon I reached the training room, peering in I saw nothing then a sob near my right side. Looking down I saw her right next to the door sitting against the wall. She had her pedes pulled up to her chassis, helm buried in her kneeplates. I knelt down and reached over to touch her helm, as I did, she raised her helm to look at me.
"Carrier…" she stated, I rubbed her helm soothingly.
"Want to talk?" I asked, she rubbed her servo under her optics pushing up her visor in the process.
"Uhuh…" she muttered, I gently settled down next to her and she leaned against my thigh plating. "I've never heard them that mad at each other…"
"Your brothers sometimes have a hard time communicating with each other," I stated, she nodded her helm. "Give them time, once they talk it out, they'll be back to their normal selves."
"They were both pretty angry…" she muttered; I rubbed her helm.
"Sometimes you can get angry at someone you love," I replied, she looked up at me confused. "You don't believe me?"
"You've gotten angry with Sire?" she asked, I rubbed her helm chuckling.
"Remember what I told you before, Optimus can sometimes get on my nerves. Yes, I've been angry with him but we talked about it and resolved it. Over my life I've learned that it's best to keep talking, sometimes we get angry over things that were only misunderstandings." I answered, she nodded and crawled into my lap. "They'll resolve this, I am sure they will be back to their normal antics tomorrow."
"Carrier, you must have been pretty angry at me when I didn't listen to you…" she stated, I hugged her frame close to mine.
"I was feeling many things, I was mad, frustrated but I was more scared than anything else," I replied, I felt her turn and hug me. "I don't know what I'd do if I lost you. You mean so much to me, more then you will ever know."
"I'm sorry I was a misbehaving bitlet." She apologized; I rubbed her backstruts as I hugged her close.
"And I'm sorry I let you see so much war. You don't need that." I soothed, I leaned down and kissed the top of her helm. "You're young you make mistakes. Even old bots like me make mistakes… Stargazer no matter what comes always remember I love you. I love you so much. And I will never stop loving you."
(Sideswipe's POV)
"Sunny…" I whimpered clinging to him as we merged.
"Sides I love you." He soothed, I leaned more into him as we deepened the merge.
-Sunny you don't need to feel bad.- I hushed over our bond as I felt his regret.
-I hate hurting you…- he replied, I sent him love to counter his apology.
-I hurt you too, besides that doesn't matter right now. What matters is you and me and right now.-
-Sometimes I wonder why we were born separated, I feel so much better when we can be like this.-
-If we weren't like this then I'd never get to see your beautiful face.-
-I would miss being able to hold you in my servos.-
-Such innocence today sunshine.-
-Shut up-
-You don't mean that.-
-No, I don't… Maybe we can make that an after merge activity?-
-Oh, I like your thinking.-
-Primus what am I going to do with you.-
-Oh, I don't know, love me forever?-
-I think I can do that.-
Our merge was coming to an end, I leaned against him as our system synced up and our sparks stabilized together. Soon I felt our sparks begin to separate, I whimpered a bit. I felt Sunny's servos rubbing up and down my backstruts to soothe me. Our merges always felt too short, I leaned over and kissed his cheekplate as we closed our chestplates.
"You're cute."
"So you're admitting it now? You're so sweet."
"You're ridiculous."
"But you love me!"
"Yeah, I do."
(Later)
"We'll have to apologize to Ratchet and Star tomorrow," I stated as I cuddled up against his side.
"I'll take Ratchet, you're better with Star anyway," he replied, I leaned up to kiss his chinplate.
"Promise to try and relax a bit more?" I quizzed, he smiled leaned down to kiss my helm.
"I'll do my best there." He replied, I smiled and leaned my helm against his shoulderplate. "We should probably clean up, I'd rather not do the walk of shame when the others are getting up."
"You have a point," I admitted and got off him stretching a bit. "Think everyone is in yet?"
"It's too late for even Ratchet to be up." He added, I nodded as we left our room.
We walked through the silent hall and into the main room which was empty the lights half off and monitors in sleep mode. I hope the Miko and Raf were able to cheer up Star. Jack was probably at that work spot; it sounds so boring. We entered the next hall heading toward the makeshift wash racks.
"Looking good you two." A voice mocked, I jumped grabbing onto to Sunny. "Did I spook you?"
I turned to see Arcee leaving the shadows her servos crossed over her chassis. Great. I could feel Sunny, I know this was the last person he wanted to run into like this. To be honest I never really got her, she was distant. But Sunny really did not like her.
"Arcee," I whined, she chuckled.
"Why are you even awake?" Sunny questioned crossing his own servos.
"Bee and Star seemed worried about you two." She stated, leaning against the wall and looked us over. "But seems you two made up."
"If you're here to mock us you can leave." Sunny huffed turning his helm away from her.
"Not at all. I wanted to make sure you two were okay." She stated, I saw her expression soften. "We're a small team here, got look after you kids."
"We're not kids." Sunny stated.
"Compared to the rest of us, you two, Bee and Star are the kids of the group. Well besides of course the humans." Arcee replied, "Bee and Star are family to me, which means so are you two."
"Heh? What you talking about Willis?" I quizzed, she began to laugh.
"Did Miko teach you that?" she snickered, "I meant what I said, Bee has been like a little brother since we arrived on Earth. Then Star came and she's been like a sister. Now you two are here, and I see you two the same way."
"So you came to check on us…" I said, she nodded. "Uh, I do not get you. You're so you know, standoffish, like Optimus but like almost worse."
"I'm not the best at the whole socialising thing. I used to be better when Cliff was still alive." She admitted, Bee told us about him he said he had been really close to Arcee. "You're good kids, so if you need an audio I'm here."
She walked over to me and patted my servo before walking toward the direction of the others quarters. Okay, so she likes us. That was not at all what I was getting from her. I turned to Sunny and saw him looking just as confused as me. Seems that threw him for a loop too.
"So, that happened," I stated, he ran a servo over his faceplates.
"I don't get femes." Sunny grumbled, I chuckled.
"She seemed genuine there," I admitted.
"Let's clean up I need to recharge over this." Sunny added, I nodded and grabbed his servo.
"Lead the way sunshine."
(Arcee's POV)
I headed to the main room stretching my cables, I didn't think those two would hide in their room that long. Everything was off when we came back to base yesterday afternoon. Bee kept looking down the hall toward their room. When I talked to him, he admitted he was worried about them. He said that when did this they normal got to the point of physically fighting before they talk to each other.
Everyone had been noticing a shift in them. Sideswipe played up his antics and kept his mouth going. Meanwhile, Sunstreaker became very serious spending his time assisting Ratchet and Optimus. They only really came together around Star. It had only been a matter of time until something happened. Ratchet simply told us they had an argument and he sent them to their room to sort it out.
I had wanted to talk to them, make sure they were okay but I wasn't great at this. Luckily they seemed fine, well I guess more than fine by the look of them. I wonder if I was able to get them to understand me a bit. Who am I kidding… Sideswipe acted like I was Con trying to be nice and Sunstreaker, well he just seemed to think I was out for him.
"Morning!" Bee buzzed, I smiled as he walked up beside me.
"Morning Bee," I replied, we were coming up to the main room now.
"You're all late!" Sideswipe exclaimed standing in front of the entrance to the main room a big grin on his face.
"You're up early," I remarked, he went over tossing a servo over both me and Bee.
"Imagine that, me and Sunny up before all of you!" he chimed, maybe I got through to him. "See Ratch we're the height of maturity!"
"It's too early for this scrap brat!" Ratchet retorted; Sides slipped away whining to the old medic.
"Morning," Sunstreaker stated, I saw him leaning against the wall as we entered. "Sides is trying to make up for his absence."
"He's doing a good job then," I stated going lean next to him and Bee chided Sideswipe. "Not the same without you two."
"I'd keep your eye out, being our siblings has some disadvantages." He commented, I smirked up at him. "Think you're ready?"
"Bring it on," I replied, seems I got through to them.
