Rebirth

Kuri was sweeping up her shrine when she came upon Rin trapped in a seal in the backyard. She released him and accidentally purified him. After apologizing, she offered him shelter. Not long after she revealed that Satan was planning his resurrection, using a demon that was possessing her—and then they both get cursed.

3. Fighting

Kuri held out her hand to him. "I-I'm so sorry!"

"Then you didn't do that on purpose?" Rin asked, getting up.

"Of course not! I won't say it again!" Kuri promised.

"How did this happen?" Rin said.

"It's one of her curses." Reiko said. "It hangs about you like a leash, Rin. The Curse of Domestication."

Rin made a face. "Domestication!"

Tears fell down Kuri's face. "I won't ever use it. I won't let this curse hurt you!"

"Kuri...don't cry. This isn't your fault. Somehow it was Satan." Rin said. "It's always Satan."

"No Rin. I did this. I am to blame." Kuri said sadly. "If I had just given myself to Satan, then Sadako would not have cursed you!"

"Stop that!" Rin said. "Don't talk like that ever again!"

"Why not? It's because I'm a monster that you are leashed!" Kuri said.

Rin embraced her. "Your not. Your no monster. I know how it feels to have something inside you that you can't control. I know how painful it is. But you can't just give up! I won't let you give up! No more apologizing and no more crying! We're gonna fight back!"
