AN: Enjoy!

The blaster bolt ricocheted off the Vibranium laced through Vision's body, before he fell to the ground with a thud. It was this fall, the sight of Vision motionless in the dirt, however briefly, that had made Billy scream, while Taserface cursed in the distance.

"Vizzy! Ge'up, pease.." Billy nudged at Vision's shoulder, a wisp of blue energy, both similar to, but different from Wanda's abilities, crackled at his

"I'm alright, little one" said Vision, the energy giving him a slight jolt, as Tommy rushed over, lured by his brother's screaming. "It's alright, I'll keep you safe.."

At the sound of another blaster being fired, Vision instinctively moved to shield both boys, but no shot came. He turned to see Nebula in the distance, her own blaster aimed at the stunned Taserface.

He gave her a grateful nod, and she nodded back.

Wanda, having heard Billy's earlier scream, ignored the protests of her exhausted body and hauled herself to her feet, rushing outside, almost at the same moment that the other Guardians were doing the same, drawn by the commotion.

"Drax, Nebula, scan the area for any more intruders!" Quill barked orders. "Rocket, go readjust the security around town.."

Amidst the sudden chaos, Wanda looked around, her heart in her throat, and almost sobbed in relief when she saw the twins, each of them now clinging to Vision, and ran over, dropping to her knees and pulling them into a hug.

"Tommy, Billy! Are you okay?"

"I okay, Mama" Billy looked back at Vision with a sweet, shy smile that immediately melted the synthezoid's heart. "Vizzy save me."

Wanda looked to Vision then, her face growing pale at the slight singe mark on his suit where the laser bolt had hit. The thought of losing him, when she was just starting to accept her developing feelings..

"I'm alright.." Vision said quickly, hoping to reassure her. "We're all alright."

"It looks like it was a close call, though" Wanda frowned, feeling rather shaken. "W-What actually happened?"

"He did.." Vision pointed towards the stunned Taserface, as Quill and Gamora dragged him off to interrogate him when he came to.

Wanda's eyes flashed red.

"He fired a blaster at my son?"

"I wasn't going to let it hit him. I would never allow anything to harm either of the boys."

Wanda saw Vision gazing at the boys with the most wonderfully soft expression, and though he was now in her arms, saw Billy's small hand still clinging to the corner of Vision's cape, and the glow in her eyes dimmed, her own expression softening. She kissed Vision's cheek.

"Thank you."

"Oh, you never have to thank me for keeping you or the boys safe, Wanda" Vision blushed a little, before his expression grew serious. "On that point, I think we have some things to consider. If one Ravager found us here, then.."

"More will probably follow.." Wanda sighed.

This planet might not be safe for them after all.

Soon, after interrogating Taserface, and blasting him back into space in a pod built by Rocket, Wanda and Vision's worst fears were confirmed. Ronan had beamed their location to the Ravagers, and the bounty on Wanda, the twins, and now Vision had doubled. Taserface had arrived quickly since he had been chasing another bounty nearby, but it probably wouldn't be long until more Ravagers, or Hunters from other guilds, arrived in hope of securing the payday that the little makeshift family offered.. Dead or Alive.

"You don't have to go!" Quill had argued, after Vision informed him that he and Wanda would leave with the twins as soon as possible. "You'd be safe here."

"We can handle a few Ravagers" said Gamora, while Nebula nodded in agreement.

"You and the glowing woman are my friends now, Metal Man" added Drax. "I would remove an intruder's limbs before I let them harm you or the children."

"That is very kind of you Drax" Vision couldn't help chuckling a little, "But I'm afraid it will very well be more than just a few Ravagers. Over time the bounty on us may increase further, and other guilds or independent Hunters may come after us."

"We will never forget what you have all done for us" said Wanda, "Giving my sons a few days to be normal children, even in the middle of everything.. It wouldn't be right for us to help this planet and its people out of one danger only to stay and lead them directly into another one."

The Guardians reluctantly had to admit that the pair was right.

"At least load up on supplies before you go" said Gamora. "We've got plenty to spare."

"And let me look over your Ship" said Rocket, "I might be able to make a few quick upgrades."

"That would be wonderful Rocket, thank you" Vision smiled.

After the Guardians helped them pack up a few extra supplies, and Tommy and Billy said a tearful goodbye to baby Groot and the rest of their new little friends, they made the long walk back to The Side Of Life, arriving just as Rocket was finishing up his work. The twins had fallen asleep somewhere along the way, so Wanda headed aboard to tuck them into bed, leaving Vision behind to talk shop about the ship's new features with Rocket.

"I beefed up your weapons systems a little, and made a few tweaks to the engine" Rocket explained. "Nothin' too special, but your hyperspace jump should be faster than most of the rust buckets the Ravagers fly. And I added the radio frequency on Quill's ship to your approved list, so if you, Wanda, or the rugrats get into any trouble, you can call us."

"Thank you, Rocket. This is much appreciated" Vision smiled. "Perhaps we will return one day, when things calm down a bit."

A while later, back in the depths of space, Vision looked to Wanda, who seemed rather subdued, and sighed.

"I'm sorry things did not work out, Wanda. I know how much you wanted a place where the boys could be settled.."

"It's okay" She managed a smile for him. "It just wasn't meant to be, yet. They got a few days of normalcy. That's something."

"Yes, I suppose it is.." Vision heard small footsteps, and from the corner of his eye, saw a familiar head of dark hair appear by the pilot's seat. "Well hello, Tommy. Would you like to help fly the ship ag.."

"Vizh.." Wanda cut him off, her smile widening. "That's not Tommy."

"Oh.." He looked down, seeing Billy beside him, clutching Teddy. He had gotten so used to Tommy being the twin who was unbothered by him, and Billy being the one who kept his distance, that it took him a moment to form words. "Hello, Billy."

"Up?" Billy requested, raising his arms, and Vision's synthetic heart swelled.

"Of course" He reached down to lift the little boy up, depositing him safely in his lap. "There's plenty of room for you and Teddy.

"So.." Wanda watched Billy snuggle happily against Vision, and despite her decision to try and keep her feelings in check as she worked herself out, couldn't help falling for the synthezoid just a little more. "Where are we going next?"

"I'm not quite sure" said Vision, pressing a kiss to the top of Billy's head without really thinking about it. "But we'll work something out, together."

Wanda's smile widened.

"Sounds like a plan."
